As you step off the lift the first thing you might notice is that level five had a makeover. The lobby is very open with lots of windows, lots of walking room, and trees and plants set up all over. There are chairs and sofa's scattered around the area with magazine racks on each side of the lobby. The receptionist desk sits in the middle of the lobby and the receptionist is always smiling and ready to help with whatever you need.

This area is an RP area for anyone who would like to play. The receptionist is not RP'd so please just play like they are there talking to you

What was that clatter coming through the corridor and to level five? Looks like one of the brooms made it to the lobby and is now zooming around knocking over plants and scattering papers as it whips around the room.

Level Six.

Home of International Cooperation and the location for Simon’s latest set of rounds. The randomness of today’s plan had led him to take one of the lifts instead of a staircase, the security man stepping into the lobby on the appropriate floor once the car stopped its awkwardly rocky motion and its gilded cage unlocked. He hadn’t taken more than a couple of steps when a crash caught his attention and his hand went for his wand as his eyes picked up the quick movement of something. Several somethings.

Were that a broom? Yep…definitely.

“IMMOBULUS!” Simon cast on it, hoping he managed to catch it in his aim given it was a thin, moving target. His gaze steady as he awaited a reaction as well as on edge to look out for something more.

WAND IN HAND, the Department Head LUNGED at the broom, shooting a spell at it, but her overzealous nature in trying to LEAP resulted in her...spell missing the groom altogether.

"Damn it!"

DID SIMON'S HIT IT?! She saw the MLE'er shoot a spell. "Didja' get it?!"

Claudy was sitting at her desk doing case paperwork when an urgent scarlet memo landed in her intray. She snagged it up and scanned over the words. As she read on, she rose to her feet and put on her coat all in a semi-distracted motion. Making sure she had her wand and other utilities with her Claudy headed out to the lobby to take the lift back up to the london ground level and on the way leave word with Ursula.

Her head was on the case and not on her surroundings when something ZOOMED past her head, making her hair fly and then seconds later she felt how a spell hit her on the arm. "OUCH!" Claudy cried out, rubbing her arm where it started to throb.

Finally taking in her surroundings; the broom and the two employees she called out "Is that broom cursed?"

Busy. Ryden is a very busy man, given that his nose was buried in at least five memos from different immigration offices. With the sudden shifting of divisions, he was pretty much swimming in paper works the past few weeks. While reading and magically translating Russian immigration files, Ryden heard the commotion from Level 5’s corridor. There’s always something happening in the Ministry anyway, so he didn’t bother to pry on the noise while he stacked files upon files on the receptionist’s desk.

As if it was planned not to miss Level 5, the noise had made its presence known by infiltrating their office. Before Ryden could say Quidditch, a broom decided to smack his beautiful behind. “Oh why you naughty b-” Wand at the ready this time, Ryden closed in on another boom aiming for his face. A quick step to the side and a non-verbal Freezing spell was unleashed. "Immobulus!"

Since there were other employees now trying to suppress the cursed broom, Ryden quickly approached Claudette. "I'm afraid it is. Stand back if you're hurt." Because he wasn't sure if he got the broom either. Those things were too fast for his liking. Turning, he faced the damned broom, shielding his co-employee.

She had just come from the ladies room, touching up her makeup for the nth time of the day when she heard some sort of commotion. In the next blink she saw a BROOM careening straight for her FACE!

She disapparated expertly, just as the stick end of the broom rammed through where her head had been.

Regina appparated next to her co-workers and their new visitors "What.is.that?!" she seethed, her dark eyes blazing. "It.almost.hit.my.face." Yes this is a most serious matter that demands attention from the highest authority.

"YES IT'S A CURSED BROOM!" Lynley yelled in a frazzled manner. Her usually neat hair was strewn about in a haphazard way. She stood up straight...and peeked around.

"It's hiding on us now. YOU BLOODY BROOM COME OUT RIGHT NOW--" it could be ANYWHERE those damn things had minds of their OWN and she had seen this before! "They'll hide........and then......GET YA!" she cried, wand drawn.

"I won't miss THIS time broomy broom...come out come out WHEREVER YOU ARE!" she glanced at the various Level Five employees. "Well don't use STAND AROUND make yourselves useful around here!" she snapped.

The broom was zooming and zooming around. Oh what fun it was to zoom and hit wizards in the head.

bump... bump.. bump went their heads.

It wasn't cool to shoot spells at it though and the broom did go hide behind the receptionist until one of the spell might have hit her. The broom took off again and went into the greenery in the center of the lobby.

Yelling. They are yelling on holy grounds! Who are these peasants??

The pale brunette levelled her eyes on the woman (Lynley) who looked all frazzled and ticked off. "Was it you who brought this pestilence from your no-man's land?" the Division Head hissed. Clearly she didn’t know who the woman was and at this point she didn’t care. There were speedy wooden things that can mangle her face! "We are useful…we're here doing our jobs before your murderous brooms started using us for target practice." And quick dodge from another broom really intent on making her scream bloody mary or just simply bloodied.

Ok that was really getting on her nerves. She has almost decided to just disapparate from the office and let the others deal with it when the broom went running off further into the department. "Wh…. Where is it going??" Was it headed into their offices? Her office! All the priceless ~~illegal~~ possessions she have on display ~~and smuggled away!~~ She stood up suddenly, her wand mysteriously appearing in her hand all of a sudden "I hope you're not sentimental about your brooms lady, because they're about to get turned into floo powder…." Regina rumbled dangerously as she marched after one of the brooms.

Ryden’s head snapped to where the Department Head stood, and discreetly squinted his eyes at her. After years of working with the Diplomatic Corps, shouting was never the solution to things. Merlin knows if that broom reacted to outbursts of emotions, given that it has already made a mess on Level 5, and even decided to boop them on the head. As soon as Regina ducked her head out of the way, Ryden had his fist ready, and smacked the handle squarely. There was no way he’d get smacked by it the second time.

Ryden followed the broom with his eyes, and quickly pointed at the approximate location of the broom. “Over there, by the greenery.” He said as he leaned his head towards Regina, keeping his eyes fixated on its hiding spot. After quickly assessing the situation, he gently placed a hand on Regina's shoulder to slow her down. "Let's not be too quick with blasting it. They probably need it intact to trace its provenance. Could be black market merchandise." he said in a hushed tone, so only he and Regina could hear. Letting go, the Consultant attended to the immobilised receptionist, lifting the spell from her. And after checking that she was alright, Ryden then looked over his shoulder, to address the other Ministry employees, “Perhaps we should assemble around the greenery, and immobilise it together. I can vanish the plants so we can all have a clear shot.” See? They were being useful, Ms. Purcell. If they can only work as a team now, then all will be settled in no time. Besides, he still has Russian Immigration files to attend to.

Blech.

Claudette was rubbing her arm with one hand and pulling her wand from her holster with the other when Ryden quickly approached her. Smiling appreciatively at him as he took up position in front of her to shield her she said "Thanks, Ryden but I think we'll need all hands on deck so to speak, if we are going to catch and subdue this rouge broom." She'd just have to think away her hurting arm for the time being.

Next minute Regina arrived in a fuming state, demanding to know what had almost hit her in the face. Trying to placate her Claudy mumbled as she pointed to the air. "That'd be a cursed broom not a person, Regina."

Then the department head lost her marbles and started to yell at the top of her lungs demanding the hiding brooms to come out and for her and her co-workers to make themselves useful.

Claudy had just opened her mouth to make a suggestion when the broom out of nowhere came and bumped her in the head. Irritably she rubbed her head where she had gotten bumped since it was somewhat sore when she heard Ryden's sensible suggestion. Nodding at him Claudy said "I'm with you Ryden. I'm willing to try anything to get the broom out of our level."

Taking up her position by the greenery and with her wand at the ready Claudy waited to see if the others would go with Rydens idea too.

Out of the corner of his gaze, Simon caught the movement of the lunging woman, identifying Lynley as he turned to look to make sure she was alright. Department head of Transportation…well that certainly confirmed where the troublesome broom had come from originally. Not that non-ministry brooms often turned up at the Ministry often so its trail was already narrowed. As for her question, the security head hadn’t been sure until the broom was once more scene coming from behind the woman Lynley had accidentally hit to hide behind the greenery in the lobby.

“That would be a no…” he remarked as more people joined the mix. At least one more spell being cast in the direction of the errant broom. Thankfully the possibly hurt employee was seen to as Simon focused his attention on getting at the hiding broom, Lynley confirming it was in fact cursed and not just not working properly.

“I’d say stand back period!” the law enforcement officer agreed to the other man’s advice for keeping away and safe. They needed a plan and since the highest employee felt yelling at it was the best approach, the matter had to be taken in other hands. Unfortunately before he spoke, the other man…Ryden…offered a plan to essentially rush the troublemaker from its spot causing Simon to shake his head. Nope, not the best idea in this case. The cursed broom was too tricky and quick.

“Everyone should stand wands at the ready at all the ways to get out of this lobby…” he countered, taking control moving slowly towards the greenery. “I’ll flush it and you take aim once its out in the open. But even if you don’t get it, DON’T let it past you!” Hoping they got the hint and acted, he moved into place to take action, casting another freezing charm in the direction of his target.

“IMMOBULUS!”

The broom stayed in the greenery. It was not coming out. It was enjoying zipping through the bush that was surrounding it. Another spell coming close to the twigs is zipped around and flew out of bushes and straight at the woman (Regina).

Sleater was just stepping off the lift when he encountered this scene. "What in the world..." His brown eyes tracked the broom around the lobby as it zipped around avoiding people's spells. His trance broke when it dove into the greenery. Maybe someone got it...

Or not...

He watched the broom zip straight for "REGINA!" He called out. "DUCK!" By then, the twenty one year old was running straight for the division head until he collided with her, tackling her out of the way.

Alright. THEY were getting mixed instructions here. One said to make themselves useful, and the other one said to stand back. Ryden had to hold his breath, and let it out slowly out of his mouth, exasperation written all over his face. Merlin’s holy beard, how hard was it to entrap a rogue broom? The Consultant was slowly getting irked, but expertly hid his annoyance from the rest of the Ministry employees. Now was not the time to lose heart.

Having realized that the other male in the mix was from MLE, Ryden did not bother to question his plan. He thought vanishing the greenery to expose the target was the best way since they already have rounded up on it. It was cornered, and now…

It’s out in the open again.

In a matter of seconds, the broom went for Regina. Ryden was quick to take the first few steps to shove her away, but another man had beaten him to it. It was rather…an unceremonious tackle, but at least it wasn’t the broom handle against Regina’s face, right? The Consultant immediately threw his arms on his sides in disbelief, and squinted his eyes on the rogue broom once more.

“For Merlin’s sake…Immobulus!” Another non-verbal spell was released, and directed it at the broom’s tail; the easiest part to have a hit.

But did his spell made contact?

Lynley thought...this one broom better get READY once it was caught because this department head was NOT happy with it. She saw the movement...she saw that Level Five had it HANDLED.

"A few others escaped. If you all have it here--I NEED to go get the others--I have a stack of brooms on Level Six--our conference room--one of you go drop it off there once you catch it--" she said, brushing past a young man [Sleater] on her way out. "Are you lost?" she hissed. "Pipe up!" she snapped before leaving.

Claudette may have said cursed brooms, but Regina had a mind of demonstrating exactly what a curse truly is when its viciously dealt out of her wand.

Then she felt a hand on her shoulder. Oh you're lucky she likes you very much Mr Rawrrden, otherwise you'd be making like Capt Hook right now. But he did say the magic words-- black market. Always keen on a profitable deal this girl is. "Fine." she muttered.

So there was a plan… and then there was another plan. Regina's dark gaze slid between Ryden and the Auror-- why do they only get ONE Auror?? They should have the entire army marching in right now-- so are they gonna charge it with wands blazing or are they just gonna stand back and sing kumbaya--

--Suddenly several things happened at once. There was a rustling of the greenery, and then a blur shooting out of it. Her thoughts went-- Cursed broom. Incinerate. But before she could even flick her wand she was down on the ground.

What.just.happened ??

There was a woman on her-- no wait…. much too brutish. Then she realized who it was "Mister Sereika…." she hissed, struggling to keep an even tone "… would you please remove yourself from my person?" Is she thankful he saved her from the flying menace? Oh indeed, and for that, she will not turn him into a flobberworm. Today.

Claudette was gripping her wand and waiting for the broom to leave the greenery as Ryden had suggested when the man from MLE took charge. She'd ask Luc who he was when she him after work when they headed home together. The MLE'r thought she should stay away and keep safe since she was hurt. In another circumstance she'd have listened. But not when the broom was still causing trouble.

Plans were made and then suddenly the broom flew out of the greenery and aimed straight for Regina's face. Ryden sent a spell after it and Sleater who had just joined in the frenzy tackled Regina to the ground to keep her from getting hit by the broom.

Shaking her head Claudy looked around for the broom when things quieted down and Regina appeared to be all right. Noticing the broom lying some feet away on the ground, unmoving she pointed to it surprised "Someones spell must have hit. The broom is down and unmoving."

Why did every one hate him so much? D: He's just trying to live his Sleater life. Even now, he just saaavveed Regina's life! Yet here she was about to cut his head off. "Right...Sorry, sorry." The young American carefully lifted himself off of her, standing to give her a hand up. His eyes glanced at the unmoving broom, afraid that it might jump up again at any moment. "Is it dead?"

Regina definitely heard that glorified domestic implement clattering on the ground, and then Sleater pulling himself off her "Finally..." she muttered, perhaps to the broom, perhaps to her long-haired staff. She did take his offered hand though, and somewhat got to weasel out a "Thank you..." Savor it Sleater, those words are rarely given out without an agenda.

And this brunette certainly wasnt waiting for the broom to suddenly punk them where they stood. This thing had its deadly sights on her since it got there! So she immediately encased it in a concrete box, which likely weighed a TON "Lets see you try to get out of that broom."

Overkill? No such thing when her beauty is in serious jeopardy. At least it wasnt incinerated.

Because of the inspiration of one of his employees Ere was standing in the lobby at 3:30 on Friday. It wasn't time to leave yet, but he had send a memo to all his employees that there was a gathering in the lobby at this time. He set out a stack of parchment and waiting at the lobby for a special guest to arrive.

When that person walked through the door Erec paid for the pizzas and set them on the receptionist desks. Opening them and making sure the plates were all set up. Hew as ready for his employees to have a little team building moment.

Finishing up some paperwork Claudy was thinking strongly about going to the breakroom to make herself an energizing cup of coffee when a memo landed ontop of her file stack. Reading the words from her department head Claudy gave her paperwork a last regarding look, before she stood up from her desk.

Leaving the office area, the blond soon entered the lobby where her boss was standing near the receptionist desk with what smelled like pizza. going over to him Claudy smiled "Afternoon Mr Delacroix!" she wasn't sure if she was supposed to say that or Erec or boss or something so she took the safe route.

The statuesque Division Head had just stepped off the elevators when the aroma of pizza wafted up her nose. Well that just made her hungry, specially she had just come from making a deal with.... a person of interest. But pizza makes her skin greasy.... #VainWomanAlert

The Boss' memo appeared on her magical parchment. Oh she got back just in time "Hello Erec, Claudia." Regina nodded her head at her Boss and her co-worker before glancing at the pizza, wrinkled her nose in a predictably snobbish fashion and raised a well groomed brow "So what is our agenda this afternoon?"
