Morgan P. Nickles EraAll historical records pertaining to Ministry of Magic RPG under Minister for Magic, Morgan P. Nickles [IC January 2094 - December 2096; OOC October 2017 - October 2018]
After giving a nod to each of the new arrivals, a lady entered the room to greet them. "Good day." She replied and gave her bag a pat "I have my application filled out and ready to go." She was getting a bit nervous. It had been ages since her last interview or job, and the other applicants looked to be of high quality. She hoped they were looking for several to fill the position.
"Well if you all would wait in here while I take Miss....Lewis back to get things squared away." Where the hell were her other employees? Lynley hated this kind of stuff. Being fake polite was not a talent she possessed.
"So if you'd follow me...we just have to do some routine stuff before adding you to our official list!" she nodded and led her into the depths of Level 6; a pretty light and airy place it was, but also....it was bustling a but right now with all the stuff happening. It was a level fraught with paperwork, too.
Lynley led the way to an empty room...

He wasn't the kind of person who cared very much about the Ministry, not when so much of his time and attention went into Hogwarts and teaching. So to be here, to be called here, was entirely new.
And yet, there was something very familiar about this. As he stepped off the lift and glanced around the waiting area, the man almost felt as though he was a teenager back at Durmstrang again. There were numerous times where he'd been summoned to a professor's office, having to wait to see just how much trouble he was going to get into. The only difference was, if he was worried back then, it was nothing compared to how he felt right now.
The Defence professor sighed and picked up a quill to sign in the visitor's log.
There. That sounded concise enough.
With that done, Hirsch turned around and sat down on one of the spare seats. All he had to do now was wait.
Ah, it seemed Mr. Hirsch had finally graced Lynley Purcell and Level 6 with his presence. To be frank, he wasn't at all impressive to her, much less than she had expected, and she was waiting for his arrival in her office. When she was told he had finally come, Lynley swiftly made her way to the waiting area.
"Ah, Mr. Roderik Hirsch. Defense professor extraordinaire." Her drawl was slow and oozing with sarcasm. "Glad to see you've arrived safely. Perhaps by portkey?" She asked, raising a judgmental eyebrow. Just a poke at the reason why he was here. "Since you're clearly an expert at making them and all....come to my office with me, then. I'd offer you tea but..." she smirked. "I've just drank the last of it. Coffee, then?" and she began to lead him to her office.

And........ eyebrow!raise.
Hirsch was used to sass and sarcasm - he taught teenagers, after all - but this? Was this really necessary? The meeting had barely even started and here was the Transportation Department Head, acting as though they were long lost rivals. The man simply looked at her, silently wondering if she was like this to everyone who came here or if he was some sort of special case.
Instead of letting his feeling show, the man put on the fakest dimpled smile he could muster. "Ms Lynley Purcell, it's nice to meet you." Her comment about the Portkey had earned her a chuckle, even if he found nothing funny about it whatsoever. "What can I say, it's my speciality," It really wasn't. "Hey, maybe I could give you and your department some pointers. Free of charge, of course."
Her comment about tea was an odd one but he didn't really say anything about it. He didn't even like tea, in the first place. "Coffee it is, then," he said, getting up from his seat and following her lead.

It was nice, SOMETIMES, to have visitors on the level.
Olly looked around at the others. Needless to say he wasn't the only one who thought this was a good idea. He suddenly felt a little nervous. What if his application wasn't good enough? By that, he meant himself. What if he wasn't good enough? Stop thinking like that, Olly, he told himself. He needed to keep the confidence that he had arrived there with.
So when the woman asked if they were there for the 'Uber stuff', he needed with a slight smile. See? The goth could be his usual charming self despite being dressed in all black with a hint of silver skull jewelry here and there. "I've got my application.'' This was held out to her.

It took a few moments to register through the anatomy diagram he was trying to memorise that someone was talking to him. Once he had, though, he looked up sheepishly, quietly closing the book on his lap. He nodded, confirming that he was indeed here for the 'Uber stuff'. As for his application? "I did, yes." He probably should have had the paperwork out ready, right? He bent down to rummage in his bag for it; he was usually much more organised than he appeared right now, honest!
Although it looked like it didn't matter too much, since he was to wait here for the moment. Well then, paperwork retrieved and now safely on the chair next to him...seemed like he had some time for a bit more revision. The metatarsals...

"Of course" She replied before giving a little nod in acknowledgement, picking up her bag, and following Lynley out of the room. Her stomach flipped and flopped like she had swallowed a handful of exploding bonbons, but her determination to secure employment pushed her forward.
Newwww TL obviously!! Assumes its end of May? And people should come play with us!

Having a toddler around was exhausting. Anyone who said children were they greatest gifts must have skipped over the part about toddlers being super bratty and stubborn. Then again, his parents were both Gryffindors. But honestly Chloe had felt like she'd just been going through the motions every day just trying to get by.
How has the Uber Apparition program been in effect for a year? Were people using the program? Yawning, the newly twenty-six year old redhead entered through the waiting area that morning as per usual, intending to make a first stop at the break room for her second cup of coffee.

As Cassie stepped off the lift before it buzzed off to its next destination, the young woman wondered what to expect from the room she landed in as well as everything that lay beyond. This was her job, her department and the former Ravenclaw had to admit she was a little nervous. Starting a real job wasn’t quite like starting university like she had in the fall. The responsibilities were far more important because they affected others not just herself and her grades.
And then there was the first decision.
Should she try and see the department head? Simply walk into the main department and see about setting in? And where to settle in? Cue the fish out of water feeling.

Of course coffee didn't QUITE happen as Chloe desired, given the fact that someone has stepped into the waiting area just behind her and the redhead had only one thought was that she recognized the same look on the woman's face that she had felt ... was it seven years ago now? Wait, how had she been here seven years already? Time really did fly and when she considered it more that was the same amount of time she'd spent at Hogwarts. Odd.
"Hey. You looking for the Department of Magical Transportation?" Hopefully she was in the right place and if not, well, as a seasoned employee, Chloe guessed she'd be expected to point her in the right direction. Maybe the visitor's center.

Oh, she had been noticed.
She looked for the source of the voice and spotted an older, seemingly experienced woman in the waiting area. Had she been there? Or just came out from the department while she had looked around? Well, she supposed it really didn't matter. “Hello…” Cassie returned the greeting with a polite smile.
“Yes, I am actually,” she confirmed with a nod, realizing her newly minted id from security might help. The former Ravenclaw, pulling it up from where it had gotten caught with the strap of her bag so the other woman could see. “I’m a new employee and was directed here.”

Noticing the girl's hesitancy, Chloe continued to try to maintain a calm front. But inwardly she was definitely trying to figure out how to best word directions to the visitor's center in case she was in the wrong place. She felt herself exhale though in relief when the young miss was indeed in the right place. Had Lynley mentioned a new hire? Honestly, the former Gryffindor could not remember.
"Perfect!" She leaned forward to have a look at her ID. "Cassandra. I'm Chloe. I'm in charge of manufacturing portkeys." Well, there were others who did as well, but since they were off doing who knew what, she was the one who did that task. Not in charge though. She just did the task. "Well, I guess I should show you around the department..."
"Did you just graduate?" She looked fairly young. But then again, who was she to judge? She literally applied the Winter after she graduated, at only eighteen. Merlin that seemed like an eternity ago.

Well that was a positive greeting! Helped a bit in the nerves department if she admitted nervousness to herself in the first place. “Nice to meet you, Chloe,” she said before adding, “Cassie works too.” The former Gryffindor didn’t much use her first name but officialdom seemed to always revert back to it so she was used to both. As for portkeys… “I think that means we’re working together.”
Hadn’t the paperwork said something about portkey division after all?
“Actually last year,” Cassie remarked, registering that the newest bunch of Hogwarts graduates had just wrapped up. And the fact that obviously she looked young for jumping into the Ministry. She couldn’t help that no matter how hard she may have tried. “Decided to start WU first to settle in and try to get a better feel of the direction I wanted to go.” So…not totally new to the whole field. Not that charms, the area that created portkeys, wasn’t her best subject.
