As you step off the lifts, you step into the plush seating area that doubles as the waiting area and entrance to Level Six, the Department for Magical Transportation. Whether you need to meet with someone about a Porkey, take exams for your Apparation license, report a broom malfunction, or need a Floo connection approved or repaired, you are in the right place. Please have a seat, enjoy the magazines and Daily Prophets, and someone will be with you shortly.

Be sure to sign the visitor's log! Have a great day!

OCC: Any visitors or even employees please just post in here and someone from the Department will be with you to help shortly. In your post just post entering, signing the visitor's log (in your post just do a short little quote or signing in with Name, Department/position in MoM, place of work if applicable, and reason for visit) There is no receptionist being RPed so simply hang tight for a Level 6 employee!

Pem exited the lifts on the level six with a mission to find her friend Gabby. Often Pem had visited level six so she knew the layout fairy well. That didn't mean though she was allowed to roam freely. Walking to the visitor's log Pem signed it almost the same as she always did.

Now that she had a break from working, it was nice to have her mind go back to a man - a man who wasn't her husband. "You are good too, I hope?" Pem seemed to be in a good mood at least. That was nice, as was the thought of a break. "Oh, I'm going to New Zealand soon. With a guy named Archer." Talk about spur of the moment trip planning; she loved it.

As her friend began to pace, Gabby raised her brow. Was something up? Oh, it was just dinner with her and her husband... "Of course I will come." As if she would turn down dinner. It had better be good though!

Excellent, Gabby would be there for dinner. Hopefully this time there wasn't a fiasco with any of the cows getting lose like when Mr. Perkins came to visit last. Pem giggled at the thought. I'm glad to hear that. Pem smiled. She shrugged her shoulders at Gabby's question. Still missing that little bro-in-law. Are you sure I can't floo to Hogwarts and bring him home? Pem asked, she had seriously contemplated it but knew she was going to have to let Lincoln go off on his own eventually.

Gabby wasn't sure why her friend was giggling, and wasn't sure if she wanted to know. Instead, she glanced at her watch - not out of boredom, but because it had to be nearing lunchtime. Yep, it was. "Want to head over and get something to eat?" she asked as she raised her brow.

They were both doing well and that was good. Gabby was doing more than well, but she wasn't sure how much she wanted to get into with Pem. Who was she kidding? She wanted to go into detail. "Oh, I'm sorry but you can't. You will see him a lot during Christmas though, right?" It was a shame that her friend was missing her brother-in-law; if it had been most other people she wouldn't have given a flying fig.

Smiling at the thought of Archer, Gabby started heading towards the lifts. Pem would follow after her, of course. "Oh, he's yummy and he's a Herbologist. He travels a lot and lives in a tent." Not just any old tent either; it was a huge one that was quite luxurious. "But what?" She did not see the problem with what she was doing. "Oh, I'm sure it is. I want to go to the beaches!" She was definitely excited. She was very happy. It still kind of freaked her out, feeling this emotion.

If the orientation was anything to go by, then Chloe was confident her employment years with the Ministry would be anything BUT boring. Except for the fact that she would need to work with the events team to get more vegetarian options available for the Hors D'oeurves, the parties were quite posh.

Floating on cloud nine from the previous evenings mixers, the ginger found her way up to her department with little trouble at all. It was when she arrived in the waiting room, filled with the lush couches she'd expected, that she had no clue where to go from there. Nor did she even know a soul in her department, not even Ms Lynley Purcell. The only people she'd really met were the Senior Botanist and the lady from International Cooperation, whom she had no idea what she did. She did recognize that Hufflepuff who had the gall to steal her dress, but hadn't had the chance to confront her or anything. Whatever, she totally looked better than her.

So where was the Portkey Office now? Or was she just supposed to go to the conference room first? She doubted she'd be out in the field on her very first day . . .

It was another day of work and hopefully everyone new to the department was competent. She couldn't deal with people who didn't have any idea what they were doing and it honestly boggled her mind how some people actually managed to get hired. Lynley wasn't stupid though; surely she wouldn't make poor decisions when it came to employees. The fact that she had just received a promotion was proof of this.

Chloe smelled someone coming before she saw them; because of the smell of coffee in their hand. She wasn't necessarily opposed to coffee, but she hadn't really had the desire to try it yet either. Or the need. Though if she was required to show up for work any earlier than this, then surely coffee might become a necessity.

But enough thoughts on coffee, the woman was talking to her. She was blond and definitely older than her, but not old. Maybe her mother's age. Maybe not. Her mother, though, was on the young side when she had her, which meant she just turned forty last Summer. Chloe couldn't even begin to fathom that; turning forty and oldest child graduating school all one Summer.

Autumn stepped off the lifts and into the waiting area of level six. Nope, she was not on the wrong floor. She was here to take her Apparition exams - at last. Being a ministry employee, she thought that she needed to transport from one place to another quickly. It was the end of her first week and her very first visit to this level, but she walked confidently to where the visitor's log was and signed it.

Then, she looked for a comfortable seat and waited. She was not remotely sure what was supposed to happen next.

Of COURSE she was.

It was a good thing for her that she was with Gabby who was familiar with the department and knew Lynley quite well. She was friends with the bosslady and everything. "Well, she's probably in her office." Or maybe? Honestly she didn't really know since there would be a meeting to go over new developments and assignments. Maybe Lynley was elsewhere and getting the last few things together for it.

Nervous? Who was nervous? Natalia wasn't, nope, okay she was. She as horribly nervous. Why did she think apparition was such a great idea? She didn't feel like being harmed trying to focus. No she was doing it it. She was excited and she was going to do this. It was a right of passage, all witches and wizards got to do it. Missing the lessons because of a stay a Mungo's she was glad her therapist said it was okay to take them now.

Walking and checking in at the door, Nat was told which level to head to. She had actually never been in the ministry before and it was quite intimidating if she was being fully honest. Finding level six, she went straight to the desk. "Hello I'm here for apparition lessons."

If she was incredibly nervous, she made a good effort of not showing it. Vickers can only half surmise, since he knew that anybody is nervous when it comes to getting their apparition license. He smiled at her humorous intro, help alleviate the nerves that her joke actually works. "Its good to meet you Natalia. Oh by the way, if you could kindly fill up this form..." he handed her a parchment and self-inking quill ".... and once you're done, give it to the receptionist here and then proceed to the lecture hall. Its down the corner on your left, the first room you'll come to." Maybe a few moments away from the Instructor would help calm her nerves? It usually works for him. Besides he has things to prep in the classroom....

She looked at the parchment as he handed it over. Glancing at it that seemed like easy questions. "Sure I can do that." The quill was in her hands and she continued to listen to him. Oh he was leaving? "Sure I can do that." Yep no problems there. She looked back at the parchment and then made a mental note of the direction she was headed when she was done.

Sitting back down she took the time to fill out the parchment and then made sure to add the slip she had with her. Working through the questions she got to the last part and signed her name. Feeling like a real adult by not needed her father's signature was a weird feeling. She had been pretty independent in most ways all her life, but she liked having a parent that actually cared now and all to soon she was of age and didn't need that said parent anymore in some ways, but still would need him in others.

Getting up after she was finished, Nat gave the parchment to the secretary and then moved on to the room she had been told to go to.

An oddly timed summer apparition...test. Though, to be fair, summer itself wasn't an odd time for apparition stuff to happen for those who were not yet old enough when it happened at Hogwarts. Regardless, Lynley had heard from Vickers that it'd be happening today, and the department head wanted to be here.

There was only...a slight setback.

Wyatt had not entirely liked the idea of staying with her parents. She had never seen a kid latched onto his mother so tightly before in her LIFE and she certainly hadn't expected the child's grasp to be so...damn tight!

So she had brought her son. She hoped no one would make too big a deal, she would feel funny and she knew Wyatt wouldn't like it, but here she was, holding her son on her hip as she checked in with the receptionist before looking over at him. "You doing okay, little man?" she asked in a whisper.

Everything was entirely very big and very intimidating. The 3 year old took the Ministry with avid curiosity, not for one second loosening his hold. A part of him wanted to know where every door led and how far the lift went. It was easier to appreciate things when he was no longer under the impression he'd be left at some point.

By now the memory of the disaster that morning had been was neatly tucked away at the back of his mind. Wyatt was no longer plagued with the image of that house and the people he was meant to be left with. All his focus went into this new environment and the occasional passerby who said hello to him. By the third one, he'd even begun saying hello back and by the fifth Teddy was adding his own greeting as the little boy settled into a more relaxed state.

Wyatt gave a small nod of his head in response to her question but his eyes never left the receptionist. The caution was slowly returning. She wasn't trying to leave him HERE, was she? To be sure it was clear he wasn't having it, the boy tightened his grip around her, squishing himself close. He was NOT having it.

It had been several years since she had been officially employed, her career put on hold when she first became pregnant with the twins. Now, four children later, she desperately needed to be out of the house for part of the day. The Uber position seemed to be a perfect fit. It would allow her to work on her own time schedule and get some adult interaction in the process. Hopefully the Ministry felt the same.

She stepped off the elevator and looked around the waiting area. Plush sofas, much nicer than any found in her own home, were available to sit upon and a visitors log was waiting for her to announce her arrival.

It wasn't his first time in the ministry, having been home-schooled and taken his apparition test in this very department only four years prior. And now, all going to plan, he'd be taking another one. Only this time, it'd be to ensure he could safely transport others. A Wizarding Uber, according to the flyer looking for applicants on one of the noticeboards at St. Mungo's.

It wasn't really that Archie particularly needed the money - very few Healers-in-training had their own bachelor pad in the heart of London, after all - but he'd been intrigued by the idea. A method to get people home safely. It appealed to the same senses that had led him to Healing as a career path. And unlike other (often voluntary) positions he'd considered, this allowed him to work on his own clock, fitting it between lectures, rounds and labs as he chose. Around London, he had a feeling his odd shift pattern might work in his favour.

Seeing the visitors' log, he signed himself in, before taking a seat on one of the sofas. The other visitor (Kori) got a friiendly nod, but with rounds in the morning and a stressy doctor in charge, he wasn't planning on making small talk. Instead, he pulled a book on Healing bones from his messenger bag and started reading until someone came to get him.

Besides, there was all that years of experience that he possessed. It wouldn't go to waste. Oliver McDean was very confident in himself. He stepped onto Level Six, an unfamiliar surrounding.

She was getting a bit nervous. It had been ages since her last interview or job, and the other applicants looked to be of high quality. She hoped they were looking for several to fill the position.

This...... felt weird.

The day had finally arrived and as such, Hirsch had arrived at the Ministry, trying to look as smart and sophisticated as he possibly could. He wasn't the kind of person who cared very much about the Ministry, not when so much of his time and attention went into Hogwarts and teaching. So to be here, to be called here, was entirely new.

And yet, there was something very familiar about this. As he stepped off the lift and glanced around the waiting area, the man almost felt as though he was a teenager back at Durmstrang again. There were numerous times where he'd been summoned to a professor's office, having to wait to see just how much trouble he was going to get into. The only difference was, if he was worried back then, it was nothing compared to how he felt right now.

The Defence professor sighed and picked up a quill to sign in the visitor's log.
