She chuckled at Mariel's words, yes it was a fun little change. Her hand went to her friends belly not caring that they were in a meeting or not. "Are you giving mommy trouble today?" She spoke light hearted toward the woman's stomach. When Mariel addressed everyone she took a moment to look around the area. Seeing Mercedes she smiled and gave her PR a wave. "Hello" She would be talking to her Quidditch team more after the meeting, but she did get up from her seat as she chuckled at Mariel's words. "I see this baby is taking after daddy?" With Jorge being of Spanish descent she figured this little guy was going to lean more towards daddy's taste.

Grabbing a small plate of some of the food she figured it wouldn't hurt to grab something to eat. Though she wasn't sure she had ever tried anything that was here. "Spanish theme, I like it."

After grabbing some food she made her way towards the new employees. "Hello you must be Archer and Yoona, I'm Victoria Culloden the Division Manager for our Quidditch Team. Once we are done here I can show you around our offices a bit and get you started on your first assignments." She hated to make new employees jump right in, but Quidditch was at the height of their season this time of year.

Noticing Ferris she gave the man a smile, he wasn't ever one to talk too much, but he seemed nice. "Hello, how was your holiday?" Then her eyes turned to Deliah, "Deliah how are you feeling dear? It's great to have you back." She knew the woman was ill and hoped she had received her little gifts of well wishes during that time.

Was she late? She was probably late, wasn't she? Seeing as she had been short on time Saxon came bounding all over the ministry till she arrived at their department. It was odd that Mariel had decided to have the beginning of the year meeting in the games room, which threw off the blonde, but she came here right off the bat.

Her cheeks were slightly flustered from the rush of getting here, but, she made a sigh of relief and calmly entered the room and went over to where everyone was gathered around. There seemed to be quite some new faces and it made her wonder who she would have to work alongside.

"Hi, hi. I'm here, I'm here. Have we started yet?" She said quickly. Please say no. The blonde would feel terrible if Mariel had to restate her words or something just because Saxon hadn't arrived early, as usual.

Ferris noticed that people were talking to him and tried his best to blend it. Slump his long body inward on itself and disappear. It was bad enough that he was required to attend this meeting, but the fact that the two women, his boss and Victoria, were now trying to get him to engage in social things made him want to dart.

This was not a drill.

He said nothing. He did nothing. He just sat there wishing desperately for an avenue out of there and as swiftly as possible.

"It's nice to meet you...Mrs. De La.....?" He paused. "I'm sorry if this sounds rude but may I just call you Mariel?" He didn't want to butcher her last name.

"If only we could all be so certain of the future," Mariel replied somewhat jokingly to Delilah, managing a faint smile. She was glad to hear that the woman was doing much better, but she knew better than anyone how life can throw you a curve ball without warning. She smiled a bit wider as Victoria placed a hand on her belly and spoke to her baby. "He just likes to stretch out his legs." Thankfully she was able to coax that foot to a more comfortable location. Her eyes then turned to the food that she had brought in and she nodded a bit. "Seems to be the way, at least. That's all I've been craving lately." Oh, good.. Victoria was getting up to get something to eat.

Once Vic got up, she turned to her new employee, Archer, as he spoke to her and she raised an eyebrow. Was her name really that difficult? And it was on his paperwork, that was something he should have committed to memory before he arrived at work. "It's De La Garza," she reminded him. "But of course you may call me Mariel, we aren't that formal here," she let him know with a small, yet friendly smile. But he'd best learn her name anyway, she'd expect him to know it. "Help yourself to something to eat." She gestured to the table of food. They'd get started in a minute.

Her green eyes found Saxon as the woman came rushing in and Mariel waved a dismissive hand. "Hello.. no, you're right on time." Well, just at the last minute, but they hadn't started yet and that was what counted because she wanted to discuss the Gobstones event first and she needed her Division manager present for that. "Get yourself something to eat, we're just getting started." Alright, it seemed to be about all of them and she wasn't going to wait any longer.

Mariel started to get up then thought better of it as she shifted her position in her seat. They were all close enough that they should be able to hear her and they could understand that her belly was preventing her from doing much of anything other than trying to be comfortable. "Alright, so let's get started.. There are just a few things I wanted us to talk about today, then I thought we could play a few games before getting back to work." It wasn't all casual today, but she thought a little recreation here and there would be good for productivity.

"First, is our children's Gobstones event in the Ministry's daycare next month. I'm really looking forward to this and introducing the game to some of the children in our community. My nephew and god-daughters will be there so it is important to me that it goes well. I believe everything's coming along right on schedule with that? Is there anything else you need from the rest of the department?" She looked to Saxon to see if there was anything she wanted to discuss in that regard. She knew that most of the planning was complete, but any last-minute details could be taken care of now. It was a shame they had lost Deacon and weren't able to replace him, but Delilah had perfect timing in returning. "Also, the Gobstones division and I wanted to test the prank gobstones that were developed in the department before they're used for the event just to be prepared. Adam.. Mr. Karten.. we'd like your help and expertise there, to make sure they're age-appropriate and ready to go."

Oh, good. She wasn't late. Saxon always got extra worried when she felt like she had been. It'd be bad on her part to be late, especially as the division manager for gobstones and then her co-workers judge her on one day of late arrival. Thankfully that weren't the case, but still. At the moment she wasn't too hungry, but maybe later, if there was still food left, she would check out the station, but for the time being she gave her a boss a smile in recognition.

"Basically, gobstones employee's and gobstones players we've contacted are going to teach children how to play the sport in the daycare center." Saxon added on that little quick detail to the newcomers. Now, any last minute thoughts? "Mmm, no I don't think so. If there's too many children to supervise between us and the gobstones players I may call one of you other division employees. Besides that, I think we're nearly set. "

The blonde had been sad to see Deacon make his exit now, right when they were implementing the gobstones daycare program. They'd worked hard on it together for quite some time, and it would just feel like one less person to share the success, hopefully, with this program. Although, she did hope he was relaxed and doing well on his own, even with his loss to the division.

"Yes. And that," Saxon said pointing at her boss when she added about the prank gobstones. "I want to see how that's going on as well. Besides that, I think everything else is very minor coordinating details." Things she could talk to Mariel in private as to not hold up the meeting.

She was juuust sitting here as she looked around at everybody. More people were arriving, alright. She gave a small smile to each one and did not care if they noticed it or not.

Then a voice directed at her led Yoona's attention to the lady sitting across from her. "Hi Mariel," she nodded back. The Head of Department! "Thank you for the welcome. How are you?" she said with a warm smile. Pregnancy... she remembered when she was pregnant with Leah. She could hardly believe that her baby was fifteen already.

She moved on to grab a plate and some food and drink. Spanish themed? Niiice. After Yoona grabbed a sandwich, she found herself being approached by another important looking woman. "Hi, nice to meet you Victoria," she nodded. This was the Quidditch Division Manager! She was prepared to jump right into her first assignment and could not help her smile from widening. "I shall be looking forward to that, thank you."

The forty-year-old ate her sandwich, about to continue the conversation when Mariel started the meeting. A children's Gobstones event - that was AWESOME! She nodded, supportive of this idea. A mental note to promote this event to her neighbors. "I would be more than happy to help with the event if you need the assistance," she spoke to the woman who appeared to be the Gobstones Division Manager.

Victoria gave Archer a small smile, but before she could talk more her eyes found Saxon as she walked into the room. “Morning.” Grinning as she again took her place in her seat since Mariel was getting started. Though she did take a moment to nod at Kim, it was great to see her team members ready to work. She had plenty for them to do even if Quidditch didn’t have much to say this morning. They had been running the season pretty smoothly and they didn’t have many big events going on for the rest of the season. She did want a few photoshoots, though she’d be finding a new photographer for the next one. Maybe a WSPM employee could do it for her. Her mind drifted in thoughts until she heard Mariel say about her God Daughters.

Yes, she was going to bring the girls to the Gobstone lessons. She adored the sport and felt it was a great skill to learn at a young age. The girls were going to have a blast. “I’m very excited that this is finally getting to happen. I know we as a team have been talking about it for some time. If you need anyone from Quidditch just let me know, we will be more than willing to help.” She glanced around the room, it was a shame Deacon wasn’t around anymore.

She took a bite of her food with nothing much more to say. She did have a few things she needed to get information about before bringing to the table, but she hoped to have that done soon.

Giving Saxon the floor, so to speak, Mariel turned her green eyes on the Gobstones division manager as she summarized what they were planning to do. She knew the date had been set, March 7th, and most of the details worked out. And it seemed that Saxon agreed. She figured it as likely to go smoothly enough. "I will be on maternity leave when this takes place." And hopefully have had her baby at that point. She was due March 1st, she couldn't imagine going an extra week, especially as Regina had been three weeks early. She already felt so huge. "So if you need anything at the last minute, please let Victoria know." And she nodded at Vic as she essentially offered her assistance as well.

Mariel also gave a smile to Ms. Kim as she offered her help as well. It was always good to see the new ones eager to jump in and do their jobs. Plus she was glad to see she had gotten some of the food she had brought too. With the Gobstones business taken care of for now, the department head decided to move on to other things.

"You may or may not know that Mrs. Recard is no longer the Transportation Department Head at our Ministry. While she was here, she and her team were beginning to put into place the regulations necessary for the invisible broom that had come through our department. Because it came here in its initial stages, I do feel some sense of responsibility to see it through completion. However, I don't know how far Mrs. Recard and her team got with it before the new head of department began employment. Adam?" She paused and looked at the Patents division manager. "Since I'll be going on maternity leave very soon, would you mind visiting Ms. Purcell on Level Six just to make sure everything is continuing to go smoothly. If the laws and regulations haven't been enacted by the time Ms. Purcell started her employment here, she may have some questions about it to get those passed." And since he had overseen the invisible broom's initial stages, she'd figured he'd be the most qualified to speak to her. "If not, I can speak to her when I get back." Or if he wanted her to go with him for whatever reason, but she didn't think there was any urgency there.

And to briefly touch on Quidditch. "Quidditch season seems to be going well so far?" she nodded, looking to Victoria. Unless there were any minor issues she was unaware of, but they could speak on that now if need be. "When I return from my leave, I'd like us to schedule a meeting with International Cooperation regarding International Youth Games and perhaps we can also begin putting a plan into motion about hosting the next World Cup." It was a few years away yet, but she would love nothing more than for Britain to be the site for the games.

Her eyes lifted hearing Mariel, "Yes, it has been running smoothly. Looks like the new fines and suspensions put in last year and Low being the example have really started to work." Though it was only a matter of time before someone did something wrong. It had been a little too quiet.

"I'm very glad to have two new faces on board to help out with our busy schedules right now and we will be having a few things around different communities. Nothing that we have to fully worry about, but just getting the PR out on it." Her public relations group was great at that though so no worries.

"Yes, we will be getting that all figured out and schedules for the youth league in the next few months so that sounds like a plan." This years league was bittersweet, Bart's last year playing for the league and his plans for next fall being up in the air it put a knot in her stomach and she glanced back at her notes as emotion passed through. "It would be great for the World Cup to come to us. We've worked in the past, but it's been awhile since it has been here." She would put every ounce of energy she had and her team had to get that bid for the next one.

As Victoria walked towards the game room she couldn't help but laugh, "You never know, you might be teaching me a think or two. I haven't played in awhile. I have to be rusty." She tried to think of the last time she had played, maybe with Zeke a few years ago.

"Quidditch is another world when you are on the broom. It's just a great rush.The love of the game runs in the family.My son just signed with the Warriors in Australia." Super proud of him, she couldn't help but tell everyone. "I've never played football though, is it fun?" As she opened the door to the game room, "After you"

"Oh it's Victoria by the way." He had asked her name, but she had never answered.

Her employees had been working hard as always and she wouldn't mind rewarding their efforts with a little party. Though they still had some work to do so she could still write it off as a business meeting.

She had the meeting catered, allowing the workers to come in a bit early to set up. Heading into the Game Room, Mariel could see that all the sandwiches, salads, and assorted snacks were set up along the extra table against the wall and she grabbed a water before she took a seat near the Gobstones set. She'd wait until everyone arrived before making her own plate.

Autumn entered the Game Room excitedly. A lunch party! She thought she could do with a fun break, seeing as she had been working hard so far this year. Her sister Layla was doing fine too, though she had to admit she was initially a tad bit worried about her.

Seeing Mariel next to the Gobstones set, the twenty-year-old grinned and said, "Mariel. How are you?" She grabbed a drink and pulled up a comfortable chair near her Department Head. Now, were the others arriving? The more people, the merrier the party!

This season was giving her a headache. She was not sure why there was so many frustrating things going on this year. She felt pressure lately, but she wasn't sure if it was Bart moving back and trying to look to see teams that might be interested, all the fines lately, or if it was Cossy running for minister that had her on edge more.

Walking into the lunch she gave Mariel and Autumn a smile. Was that all that was here so far? "Hello, this is a lovely idea Mariel." The food looked amazing and Victoria went over and grabbed a plate. "How is everyone's day going?" She had just left a meeting of annoyed managers so she hoped other's was better.

Another meeting had been called but this time, it had been set at a different location. Lucas would be lying if he said he wasn't surprised. Mariel always had her meetings set in the conference room but he welcomed the change. "Hello, team,'' he greeted as he strolled in. "Great day, isn't it?''

Tallie... where was she? Lucas always would look around for her first but it was needless to say that he always beat her to the meetings. Reasoning that she would be there soon, he moved closer to the small group already assembled after grabbing a drink. "The food looks really good,'' he told Mariel in an attempt to show some gratitude for what she had put together. But he wasn't that hungry as yet.

Meetings outside of the conference room were rare. Don't get it wrong, Mercedes liked the most causal atmosphere. With Mariel it was always business, not that was a bad thing. She admired it a lot. These types of meetings always seem to come with big work related news. What could it be?

The blonde headed up to the game room. "Hello, everyone!" where the others were or some of the others were already there. She took a plate and got a salad and bottle of water before finding at a seat next to Victoria.'It's going smoothly." Surprisingly it was still pretty early in the day, so that could change quickly around here. She waved at the others as she seen them.

It didn't take long for her employees to start showing up, and that was something that Mariel was thankful for. Even if it was a casual luncheon type of meeting, she was glad that they took it seriously enough to be there on time and not to just wander in whenever. They did have some business to discuss after all in addition to the fun.

"Hello, everyone," she said, giving her team a warm smile as she rose from her seat. "Please help yourself to some lunch while we talk over a few things, and I actually have a couple surprises for you after we talk a little business." She'd hope they'd find them fun at least. Mariel helped herself to a sandwich and some salad, setting her plate down for a moment as she addressed them again.

"The first thing I'd like to talk about, as many of you probably know, is that Minister Clark will be retiring at the end of the year, which means we will be soon electing a new minister. And I'm also excited to say that among our field of qualified candidates not only will my husband be running, but Victoria's husband as well." She sent her dear friend a wide smile. Mariel was really looking forward to the campaign process, and she wouldn't tell anyone how to vote, was just mentioning the familial relationships which she felt was quite exciting. And she wouldn't mention a certain crazy as it would be unprofessional of her. Best to keep quiet there.

"So, yes, that will be one thing that will keep us plenty busy this year." Though of course not the only thing. "There will be several events to showcase the candidates and their platforms, and I would like us to have a hand in hosting one of them." If they had any ideas, she'd like to hear them. Otherwise, they could go with a standard.

The food was very good as always and the team looked very happy. It instantly helped with Victoria's mood and she smiled. "Hello everyone." Where was Adam? That man worked way too hard and needed to come and have some food. Goodness.

As Mariel started she found a place to sit and listened. Her smile growing as she mentioned the election. She was glad she wasn't running again. Not that she didn't love it or have a passion for it, but her husband thought he could be good at it and she was willing to allow him to give it ago and now her. Plus, she was happy with her job and knew she was doing what she loved. She was torn with knowing her best friend's husband was running too, because she wanted him to win as well. It was just hard.

Her next words got Victoria up out of her seat. "I actually have been really thinking about something that could be really good for our department as well as the candidates. I've been trying to figure out a black tie charity event. I think it could be great for youth organizations to make money or even give the money to St. Mungos for sports healing. This could be a great formal event for the candiates as well as our sports organizations. Both Gobstones and Quidditch."

FOOD. Well, meeting and food. And Adam loved both his job, and eating, so the laid back combination was just up his street. He'd finished the letter he was writing and slipped into the games room moments before Mariel called the meeting to order, offering a slightly apologetic smile of greeting around the room.

Flipping his notebook over to a clean page, Adam pulled a self-inking quill from the inside pocket of his suit, ready to jot notes down. Upon hearing the news that two people close to the Department would be running in the campaign for Minister, he offered a warm smile to both Mariel and Victoria. "Send them both my congratulations and best wishes," he said to the pair, making a mental note to actually do so himself when he saw them.

Event ideas was jotted onto his page as he helped himself to a sandwich with his other hand. "Always enjoy a black tie event." As did Lorelai - any excuse to get dressed up - and it was a pretty fail safe idea, especially to raise money for charity. "St. Mungo's sports injuries department is an excellent idea," he nodded a few times, adding that to his notes. "Or a scholarship for studying Magical Sports Science and Management?"

Lucas smiled and greeted his coworkers as more of them trickled in. While he waited for Mariel to get started, he got himself some more food and tea then he settled himself comfortably down. He reckoned they were getting down to business soon.

So right he was. Lucas sipped his tea while focusing all his attention on his Department Head. Wow! Both hers and Victoria's husband? That was impressive, actually. He remained quiet as Mariel went on then the same as Victoria picked up the meeting. He was game for them hosting one of the events!

"I think those are great ideas, Victoria. I'm especially up for the black tie event. What would that event be like? What I mean is the entertainment and whatever else it is we will have for guests?'' Lucas paused briefly as a thought occurred to him. "Can we get remnants used from famous Quidditch and Gobstones matches to put on display as well? The Snitch or maybe a few players robes, a jack stone?''

The Irishwoman was being quiet today. She normally wasn't quiet at all but today she wanted to observe and listen to everyone else's ideas before her own. She knew that this was going to turn into an important meeting, with the Minister election going on this year. Talullah sipped her tea before turning her attention back to the rest of the group.

She had an idea. Charities were great, amazing even but they lacked in originality. To her they did. She loved giving money to a great cause but she also never had fun at those sorts of events. The blonde cleared her throat ever so slightly, she wanted to make sure people knew that she was still here and she was. She wanted people to know her idea, her idea could be a flop but it was worth a shot, no?

Tallie set her tea on the table and looked around at everyone. "As amazing as black tie parties and charity events are and the importance to raise money for these such events..." she paused for a moment, she wanted to get her words right. She didn't want to confuse anyone with her idea. "What if, before the charity event there is some sort of meet and greet event to interest the majority that wouldn't go to these black tie events?" She wasn't against the black tie and charity events at all but her idea was just to perk interest up with the witches and wizards that don't partake in such social events. "Maybe if some of the majority meet the candidates in person then it might peak their interest?"

Once she had called their lunch meeting to order, Mariel sat back down and started in on her salad as she let her employees speak on her first point. She knew they'd have some good ideas, but she also wanted them to think a bit broader than just the department. She just wasn't sure that a strictly sports themed event would fit with a candidate event. Sure, that was what they did as a department, but she knew better than anyone that it wasn't everyone's thing. Maybe they could still have that sort of influence without it being so overt.

"I do like the idea for a black tie charity event," she nodded, taking a sip of her water. "I don't think it needs to be strictly sports-themed, just because we have our hand in it, but I like some of the ideas for having some sports influence. Having it benefit sports medicine or the youth organization are fantastic ideas, while still having the benefit focus primarily on the candidates." And anyone that knew her knew that she loved functions that involved dressing your best.

She nodded to Talullah as well when the woman spoke up next. "I think some sort of meet and greet that might be more casual is a good idea as well. Perhaps something that focused more on the candidates' platforms and beliefs. But we aren't in charge of organizing all of the events," she added with a smile at all of them. "I think we'll help with organizing one of them, so I will let the committee know of our ideas, then I will let you know what our department will need to do." It wasn't even completely up to her anyway.

She jotted down a few notes, then looked up again. "The next item on our agenda concerns Quality Quidditch Supplies. They've contacted me about their newly renovated Gobstones area. And to showcase it, they'd like to host some sort of event, perhaps with some of the professional players. Any ideas there?" She knew that the Gobstones division was quite a bit smaller and that she had taken over for Saxon's duties since she had left, but she always appreciated the entire department's efforts. They always came through even if it didn't directly concern their specific division.
