Morgan P. Nickles EraAll historical records pertaining to Ministry of Magic RPG under Minister for Magic, Morgan P. Nickles [IC January 2094 - December 2096; OOC October 2017 - October 2018]
Upon much research and conversation with January Bones (meaning very little research and perhaps one brief conversation with his undersecretary), Minister Nickels decided that a frozen yoghurt stated was just what level one needed! Three flavors are offered, all of which change every week due to the diligence of the very kind and generous minister himself, who makes sure the station is kept up well and clean and all the fun stuff involved! The three flavors change every week and are a complete surprise! So if you fancy small adventures, delicious tastes, and overall FUN, enjoy! All employees from ALL levels are invited to come to level 1 for the froyo machine station! There are no toppings available at this time.
OOC: Since the flavors IC change often, feel free to make up whatever flavor your character receives. There are “normal” flavors as well as “strange and obscene” flavors, so also don’t hesitate to be creative with which flavor your character may get. Enjoy!
His workout should have lasted longer, but his stomach said otherwise. That was the trouble with exercise, it only made him eat more. Thankfully, he still had the metabolism of a teenage boy, even though he was pushing forty. He saw the notice about froyo station being open on the first floor and his stomach immediately expressed interest by producing a rather loud, and embarrassing, grumble.
He entered the room to find the machine, but NO toppings. What kind of froyo station didn’t have toppings? Were not the topping the reason for eating frozen yogurt? He poked around the room, hoping to have just missed seeing them, but nothing was to be found. After inspection of the machines, and seeing that the flavors of the week were less than appetizing, he decided to skip the frozen yogurt and take a seat to plan his next move.
Just as he was about to rise out of the chair and head to get some real food, he heard footsteps coming his way. He paused to see if someone else would be coming for a treat. Maybe he would talk them out of the froyo and into grabbing a juicy cheeseburger and fries or a pizza.
Frozen...yogurt? Here at the ministry? Cypress was impreeeeeeeessed honestly. Because having FROYO at one's disposal was much more important than anything else going on here. Now, did he think the minister was a buffoon? Of course. Everyone did, right? But froyo was one thing the loony-toon did right.
And ah, look! Someone else here to enjoy the taste!
"What three flavors---" He paused and looked at the other man. "This is nice...but...like...where are the....toppings?" he asked, looking all around. Also, this was his first time on Level 1. It was.......nice, he supposed. Not nearly as cool as MYSTERIES!

West eyed the man as he entered the room, looking a bit excited to see the froyo. He waited for it. He knew he couldn’t be the only one annoyed about lack of toppings, then it happened. The gentleman had almost the same reaction he did. Where are the toppings?? Maybe it was some strange joke by the Minister of Magic? That guy seemed rather strange, but he hadn’t worked at the Ministry long enough to have had many encounters with him.
“I know. I was rather discouraged by the lack of toppings as well.” He walked closer to the man. “I’m West. West Riedel. Games and Sports.” It was always awkward to him to introduce himself to others. Back in the day, there was no need to ever say his name, people just knew who he was. That was starting to feel like a former life. “I don’t believe we’ve had the pleasure of meeting.” It was possible they had crossed paths over the past few months, but West hadn’t spent much time outside of his department and he was sure the gentleman wasn’t from Games and Sports. Either way, he gave the man a friendly smile and hoped he hadn’t simply forgotten his name.
Oh, how we drift away from our friends. And the ones back home play remember when
Natalie had heard about the new frozen yoghurt station and headed towards the first level. When she saw the station, the young woman muttered something in Spanish. She had an apartment that had a froyo store a block away with way more variety of flavours and toppings. Natalie saw a couple of men from departments different to hers so she made her way to them. "Hello. I'm Natalie Mills. Department of Magical Transportation. Are there any toppings to these pathetic flavours?"

Cypress eyed the frozen yoghurt machine once more before moving to take the man's hand. He didn't smile, but the light reached his eyes, and he kind of smirked. Smiling just wasn't really his thing. He didn't respond right away, though, and his eyes stared straight away, as if he were frozen. He stayed like that for a few seconds....
Probably longer than was comfortable for the man he had just met, and the woman who had just appeared.

What was it with being stared at? Natalie knew that she looked presentable because it was something that she always took care of prior to reaching the ministry.

"Is everything okay?" Natalie asked.
"It's a pleasure, Natalie. I'm West. Games and Sports." He gave the lady a smile and nodded in agreement over the lack of toppings. "Toppings are the only way I can stand to eat the stuff. Frozen yogurt isn't ice cream and needs the help."
He shook the man's hand and stared back, waiting for a response that never came. "So...nice to meet you, sir." Awkward. He slipped his hand out of the grip and let his arm drop to his side before taking a small step back. "Do you need to sit?" West was becoming slightly concerned that the gentleman might be having some sort of fit.

Reason: color
And just as suddenly, Cypress nodded in the woman's direction and then glanced at the man again. "West. Nice. I'm Cypress...did you say her name was Natalie? Nice to meet you, Natalie..." Not really that nice. Cypress wasn't the most social of people. Regardless, he thought he should be polite. "Sit down? No...I...I'm fine," he said with a confused look on his face. His eyes began to slowly roll to face opposite sides of the room...which made him feel dizzy, and he quickly shook his head to get them to stop.
"I will say...my eyes have been doing that lately...and it's weird." He rubbed them rigorously. "I don't know...strange things have been happening lately. It's ...a lot. I'm from Mysteries and...well...I don't know." He was now rubbing his temples. "But I'm fine." Just the eye thing was weird.

There was something off about the man. West was't sure if he should be overly concerned or just go with it to find out more. "It's a pleasure, Cypress." He nodded and watched as the man's eyes drifted and rolled. Yes, something wasn't quite right. The Department of Mysteries did do some strange things, but he highly doubted that they were experimenting on the workers.
"Yes, I agree that it's weird. Maybe something you should get checked out. It would make me feel better if you would have a seat before you fall. Can I get you some water?" A trip to the hospital? Call down a healer? West did not want to have to resuscitate the man if he happened to drop from whatever seemed to be ailing him.
He eyed Natalie, wondering if she was feeling the same about the man's condition. Maybe she had some medical training or could offer some help. Not very likely being from Magical Transportation, but he could hope.

It was amazing to see someone that knew how frozen yoghurt should be served. "It is nice to meet you, West. It seems we have the same ideas about frozen yoghurt."

"You work in Mysteries? That might explain things. I worked there last year and had to change departments. You be careful there."
"I feel fiiiine. I'm not sitting. But water sounds nice," he said with a shrug of his shoulders and seemed almost normal now. "And yeah...Natalie...I think I remember you now that you say that." He nodded and scratched the top of his head, something that had been quite itchy lately...more than usual. Hmm. "What department are you from, West?" he asked curiously.
"I'm gonna get some froyo anyway." He grabbed a decent sized cup and started filling it with a strawberry flavor. MHmmm. "This looks good! It has bits of strawberry in it!" Still...a topping would have been nice. Cypress never turned down free food.

He still had an uncomfortable feeling about the man and wished he would take a seat until his...whatever it was...was sorted out. "Sure, one glass of water, coming right up." He turned and took the few steps over to the counter to grab a chilled bottle of water and a cup, then poured the cool liquid and made his way back over to Cypress. "Here you go."
Hopefully the water would at least keep the man on his feet and his mind from heading back to a place it shouldn't be. He smiled at the question, which warmed his heart. He really was loving his new job. "I'm in Games and Sports. Quidditch Division." The best department ever. "So, how long have you worked for the Ministry? My few months here haven't allowed for much interaction with other departments."
West watched Cypress serve up some of the strawberry froyo, he seemed to approve of the topping-less treat. Maybe it would be worth a try. Chunks of real strawberry mixed in were almost like a topping. An embarrassingly loud grumble from his stomach made the final decision for him. He wasn't ready to end his conversation with Cypress and Natalie, so froyo would have to do. "I think I'll join you for a cup. As you probably heard, I'm a bit hungry and, well, food is food."
After filling a cup with the strawberry and topping it off with some of the lemon chiffon, West leaned against the far counter and sampled his treat. He hated to admit it, but it was good. "You really should try some, Natalie."

Natalie was feeling a bit peckish so she decided to listen to the man's advice. She helped herself to a cupful of strawberry flavoured frozen yoghurt. She dipped a spoon into the cold treat. It tasted rather nice.
