And a day when the MLE wasn't run off their feet, was a good day. The less apparently active they were, the better for the community. It was only when things got hairy, that they got noisy.
"As for your 'babysitter'," He watched as the ball rolled to his front line and gave it just enough of a tap to send it directly into the man's front line. A clean kick if he wanted it. "Auror's love to imply, when it suits their purpose."
Aron returned the Auror's grin and idly looked down at his wrist to his watch. Aw, mooncalf dung. He really out to be heading back to the office before someone started pointing and yelling double standards in his general direction.
Hands back on the handles he held them loosely between his thumb and index finger as the ball rolled towards his own plastic players. "Good to know," he chuckled, holding his front line perfectly still so the ball bounce off it and came to a rest at his player's big o' plastic foot. "As much as I wish to continue, afraid I can't leave the paperwork piled on my desk much longer," the Australian lamented, taking his hands off the handles and reaching his right one across the table to offer it to the Auror. "Been a pleasure. To be continued then?"

He was ready, biting at the bit type of ready, to take on the Department Head's next move. He had hoped he could set it up, an easy pass for bait and hopefully better reaction on his goalie after. But, to his disappointment, the ball just kind of stopped.
Sabel blinked at it, his shoulders slumping the slightest bit. Well, fried frogs that was a disappointment. Still, he understood.
Straightening, Sabel removed his hands from the poles and took Aron's in a firm shake, mind you not as firm as Rainey's had been on their first meeting. He gave the man a smile and a nod. "Of course. Another day."
Taking his hand back, he gathered up the ball, tossed it and caught it and looked back at the other man. "...That glorified babysitter you have. Do me a favor, and go easy on her? She means well."
Granted, the man owed him no favors, but he could at least try. Not that Alexa would appreciate him sticking his nose in her business, but he wasn't merely going to stay quiet on the matter.

Smiling subconsciously, Aron nodded at the shake. Now THAT was how one gave a proper handshake.
Letting go of his opponent's hand, he threw a wink in the Auror's direction. "As a favor to you? I'll consider it," he replied, his tone light and obviously laced with polite sarcarm. "Until next time then."
And then with a small wave of the hand, the department head departed and grabbed his coffee mug along the way.

Rolling the ball around in the palm of his hand, Sabel watched the Department Head take his leave. A small, half-formed smile played on his lips.
He wasn't sure what Rainey's beef with the guy was, but he surmised it either had to be something serious and deeply rooted or as simple as a distaste for his mannerisms. All things considered, the guy seemed rather decent.
Dropping the ball back onto the table, Sabel gave one of the lines a spin, sending the ball shooting into the opposite goal with a well lined kick. The echoing rattle following him out of the coffee shop.

Lunch inside the Ministry, it wasn't something she did all that often but sometimes the mood struck her to stay within the walls of the building while she took a well needed (or hardly needed, depending on the day) break. As it happened, Lex was tired enough to think a break was a good idea so with a mug of coffee in hand and a sandwich she'd half finished on the way down, the Auror made her way to the little hole in the wall.
Her first thought was to throw herself on a piece of the mismatched furniture and just...relax but just as she set to plop down, the very curious machine caught her attention.
Lex had seen it time and time again when she came down here but it had never struck her to take a look--until now. Shoving the last of the sandwich into her mouth, the young woman made her way over to it. She circled it once...then one more time after that, just trying to see if she could get the gist of a game she'd never played or even seen before. Perhaps she should have taken more notice when others played it.
How...curious. Siiip. What did this thing do?

Honestly, Schuyler had never been to this little hole in the wall before. Although the main reason she'd not visited the place any sooner was because someone in the Accidents and Catastrophes department had told her that he'd brought home bedbugs from one of the chairs. That didn't exactly encourage her.
But, it also didn't deter her. She was too curious to not check it out at all, and she couldn't make any sort of assessment without actually seeing it herself. Plus, that was ONE person. He could be making that up.
Though when she stepped into the little cavern, there were a mish-mash of chairs and furniture that obviously stated these had been collected from an assortment of places. But... it kind of went with the vibe. Strings of lights and just enough old stuff to prepare yourself some tea or coffee. It was pretty hipster, in fact. And although Schuyler Emmons was far from a hipster, she was liking the strange little place so far.
Her eyes landed upon an odd sort of box propped upon four legs. There were handles coming out from it, and someone was standing there just looking at it in a puzzled, but interested fashion. The brunette resembled these feelings toward it. And, seeing as the handles were there to be... well, handled, Schuyler soon made her way over to the thing and pulled one of them. Some little figures moved with the pole they were attached to. She spun it, and the figures did backflips. Huh. Okay.

Well, that still didn't explain much.
Lex had noticed the moment she was joined by someone else--a sign the last three years of YATI training hadn't gone to waste but she was much too busy trying to figure out how in Merlin's beard this thing worked to make much of a deal about it. People were always in and out of here. It was never crowded per say but there was the odd visitor every now and then, along with the odd skeptic who didn't believe this place existed in the first place.
Her interest was only peeked when a glance away from the large machine thing revealed it was someone she knew--mostly by association and mutual friends and stuff but not a complete stranger so that was fine. Even more interesting was the fact she came right over and immediately took hold of the handles. "You know how this thing works??"
Was it meant to flip like that? Was that the point of the game? That...didn't seem nearly as fun.....
Muggles were strange things.
Lex took another sip of her coffee, eyeing the thing curiously. "I've been trying to figure it out for a solid couple minutes now but..." Nothing was happening--or was THAT the point?

Theophilus was always one to find a place to hideaway on his lunch hour. With work constantly piling up on his desk, he was never able to properly take an hour to himself in the day. Which was why he'd got his sandwiches and his coffee and headed straight for a place to breathe. Unfortunately, there was no one here to play table football with and thAT was an issue. Where were the ladies who liked to get competitive? Where were the men who wanted to be beaten by a Darcy?
No where. That's where.
So Theophilus perched on the edge of the table to eat his sandwich. Sliced chicken and melted cheese had been a GOOD decision. Self high five, Theo.
Cypress had checked out the underground coffee place a few times. He liked it. And it was a lot better than going out into the London for coffee. Nah, Cypress was too lazy for all that nonsense.
He grabbed his signature coffee and made his way over to the Foosball table. He had been practicing on his breaks okay? He was good. He would proooobably enter a tournament soon and win some money. Cypress always welcomed money. Working here was the most stable job he'd ever have, and he was making the most he had ever made, even with his side potions business from when he was in school.
But here he was, still trying to get that side dig, yeah?
Cypress smirked as he sipped his coffee with one hand, and maneuvered the table with the other. Come on, any opponents?

Dorian had been enlightened about this underground coffee club his first week on the job; however, it took him a good 30 minutes to find it thanks to everybody who kept giving him such vague directions. It was to much relief when he breathed in that coffee smell from outside the door he was standing in front of because it meant he had made it.
Underground Coffee Club. What an interesting idea. What an interesting place!
He made himself a cup of coffee at the station, tasted it to make sure it was perfect, before walking off to find a seat. The older man stopped in his tracks when he noticed someone standing by the foosball table alone. "Are you looking for someone to play with?" He asked as he approached the table, and once he had stopped opposite of the man, he took another sip of his coffee. YUM.
