Sam was pleased to see that others were showing up too. As they greeted their Head, she was offered general hellos as well. She nodded and smiled at each.

She walked over to the food, as Addison had suggested, and was making a plate. As she did, ah! A quite familiar voice! "Oliver!" she said excitedly, "How have you been?"

She paused for a moment and laughed, "Why are our interactions always surrounding food?!"

There really wasn't anything else to be said. Sending a warm smile Andrina's way by way of encouragement was all that was really needed. Their gathering had went well and it seemed to be winding down as everyone was finishing their food and mingling quietly. She herself reached for her bottle of water taking another long sip.

For the time being Addison would allow them all to finish their food and speak with one another. Within the next few minutes however she expected them all to return to their sections and get back to work. That was why they were all here today. To work. "Alright everyone I believe that's all that needed to be went over this morning so I will let you all finish eating before returning to work. I'm going to go see what I can do about those potions ingredients," she cast a quick at Adam while saying this and smiled. Yes, see this was how she did things. If something was needed she would get it. "I will be in my office should anything come up." Meaning if anyone had any questions about anything or needed to speak with her for any reason that was where she could be found. With that she cast another smile at them all before taking her leave and heading back to her office to get started on a list of things to be looked into.

OOC: The gathering is official over with and everyone can return to their work areas when finished eating. If anyone wants to play with Addison just post somewhere and let us know...otherwise I may just drop her in random places to check up on that area. Have fun playing! <3

Oh was the meeting over now? That seemed quick but Oliver certainly wasn't complaining. He wouldn't mind the little bit of extra time to finish eating and to get to know some of his coworkers. Even if there was a certain potion he was looking forward to returning to, he could use the break in getting some social interaction. He didn't get a lot in the room he worked in.

Oliver took another bite of his bagel before giving Andrina another smile. Oh, Time Room... He didn't have much reason to visit that room very often, or really at all. So if she was new or not, that would be another reason he hadn't seen her before. "Sounds like some interesting work there," he nodded. "Are you enjoying it? I'm in the Ever-Locked Room.."

Just as he took another bite of his bagel, he noticed another of his coworkers that he was quite familiar with. "Sam, hello," he smiled, directing his attention to her next. "That does seem like it's becoming a habit," he laughed as she mentioned food, and he leaned a little closer and lowered her voice. "I wanted to let you know that my sister had been found." In case, she hadn't seen that in the papers. He knew it had been covered quite a bit considering it was somewhat high profile with her famous fiance and all, bu they were trying to keep it as low-key as possible.

It was only minutes before lunch time when the owl arrived with note only a written letter but a parcel as well. Addison had quickly scanned over the contents of said letter before opening the parcel to see that it had indeed contented the mentioned items of the letter. This was exactly what she had been hoping for over the last several days as her department worked diligently around the clock to find out everything and anything they could about the happenings inside Hogwarts.

Having left the school with the small vial of gooey residence from the young boys robes (Carlton's) and several pages of notes from each student it had been a busy couple of days for them them. Lots or research had been happening in the department nearly everyone working on their own theories. Hopefully this letter and these items she had just received would prove useful to them all.

Which brought her to the hear and now standing inside the break room. She had just summoned everyone in the department to meet her there...NOW. Yes, the blonde did know it was lunch time which was why there was an assortment of different foods and drinks on the counter for them to enjoy. She wouldn't let them all go hungry on her time and well being pregnant she wanted to eat too.

Now where was everyone?

Adam had been poring over books and books. He had been in contact with a few people up in Creatures. He’d even owled a few old connections back in Berlin to see if anyone could provide help in identifying the creature that the students had mentioned in their interviews. Sadly, he hadn’t made any progress. The books had been a waste of energy. The owls had come back with no additional help and creatures had simply asked more questions than they had answered.

So when Addison had summoned them, Adam had left the ever locked room happy for a break. He entered the break room with a yawn. “Hallo,” he said lacking his usual luster. He was tired and was looking forward to sleeping….when this was all over.

Armed with her research on alternative histories and the impact that traveling between them can have on the present day, Blaire Carlisle made her way into the break room and greeted those already in attendance with a smile and nod of the head. She'd never been the type to engage in small talk and she'd much rather spend her free time before the meeting getting herself some much needed coffee and something to snack on. An apple, perhaps. Once she had that, she took a seat and waited.

It wasn't very long before Adam and Blaire entered the Break Room, Addison gave them both a smile. "Hello Adam, Blaire. Sorry to take you away from your work but please get yourselves something to eat and have a seat." This was something she should have already done herself but time was of the essence here and she had wanted to get this meeting underway.

It wouldn't hurt to get herself a hot cup of tea and a bite to eat though while she waited for the remainder of the department to show up. Mmm the peppermint tea smelled so wonderful. Lifting the cup and inhaling the scent Addison took a small sip letting the warmth of the liquid relax her. "I shall start the meeting shortly, I'd like for the everyone else to arrive before I begin." This was directed at Adam and Blaire as the blonde department head took both her cup of tea and small plate of food and sat herself down.

"Have either of you come up with anything interesting in your experiments and searches?"

Were they supposed to be........researching things? Cypress was a potions dude, okay? He hadn't really been working on stuff with the Hogwarts portal >.> Whoops. Not that he cared. He rolled in three minutes late, backpack slung over his shoulder as he saluted with two fingers his department head.

"Yo," he said simply with a curl of his lips into a smirky-smirk.

Hi Blair. Hi Adam. And heelllloooo to you, Miss Department Head. The twenty-two year old worked very hard........on things he cared about. And if washed up Hogwarts was having Alternate Universe or whatever issues, that was sooooooooOOoooo not his problem. Durmstrang til' death, yeah?

"Cool. Food," he winked at Addison and grabbed a plate to begin filling.

Running a little late, Airey stepped into the break room with a few rolls of parchment tucked under his arms and a copy of The Future of Life: Meta-Evolution: A Unified Theory of Evolution in one hand. Being a man of science first and wizard second, the astronomer was still looking at this situation through a different perspective. One that, perhaps, those familiar with muggle culture, would accuse him of buying into science fiction too much. But when one lived in a world where hats were enchanted and skilled in Legilimency, who was to say that there wasn't some truth in such thinking? After all, muggle technology had been inspired by Star Trek...so the overlap was ever present.

Although his research was anything but fiction and well documented among astrophysicists.

Bypassing the food - Medea had packed him something that he would eat later when he actually felt hungry - he threw his gangly form into a nearby chair and set all his research out on the table. He could draw no conclusions until he had heard the results of the other divisions' analysis. Although he was particularly keen to know of any possible truths to his symbiotic relationship theory.

Oh. Right. How about a belated Vulcan salute in greeting?

The man never had been good at staff meetings. The ones he ran as Astronomer Royal being the exception.

A few more people filed into the breakroom while Adam fiddled with the teabag in his cup. He was leaning up against one of the corners trying to stifle a yawn when Addison asked about progress with research. He shook his head, as much to answer no to Addison’s question as to try and shake his sleepiness away. “Nein,” he said with a yawn he was unable to stifle. “The children dist nut provide spezifisch enough infortmazion to narrow down vhat kind unt creature they encountered.” He brought his cup up to his mouth to hide yet another yawn he was unable to stop. Adam was of course referencing the interviews he and Addison had conducted at Hogwarts with the children who had been inside of the portals. He hoped someone else had had better luck. Adam wasn’t sure what else he could really do, considering his specialty was plants and brewing stuff and blowing stuff up. He had pretty much used up what skills he had in researching this long tongued, skeleton-fingered, sharp toothed, slimy creature.

One by one the began to trickle into the room. Addison gave them all her usual warm smile as they arrived. "Hello, to you too Cypress," she greeted with a light laugh in response to his 'Yo'. It wasn't what she had come to expect from the others in the department but the guy was young, still relatively new and well at least he had said some form of 'hello'. Oh, good he was getting himself something to eat as well.

Addison couldn't help but take notice to the rolls of parchment Airey had with him when he entered the room. She gave a nod of her head in his direction. "Hello, Airey. Have you found anything of interest?" Was that why he was carrying around rolls of parchment. Her blue eyes drifted onto the sealed parcel that was sat beside her plate of food. Lifting her cup of tea she took another sip before addressing Adam once more.

"I agree Adam but sadly those that could have been a larger help weren't able to be of assistance to us." The poor children were STILL receiving treatment. "The reason for this sudden meeting however is I have received a letting from the Healer at Hogwarts. He sent me vials of different substances that the students inside the portal have come into contact with. He also sent me one of the boys school robes." She fell silent a moment to let that sink in. See if there were any questions before she continued.

Cosgrach was late as well, because he wanted to see the result of something, but he arrived just in time to listen to his department head. The reason the kids weren't able to assist them was purely because the ministry was projected as the ultimate villains by one Paul Myers, but he kept his thoughts to himself and sat somewhere. He didn't have any questions at this point.

Addison nodded her head in greeting as Cosgrach joined them all. She was just about ready to begin speaking when he entered the room so she was very pleased that he was quiet and found himself a seat.

With no one speaking up Addi continued. "Now I won't be taking anything of the the parcel seeing as to how there's food being eaten right now. However I do plan to divide up what was sent to me so that you each get something to test. As always it's expected that you record your findings and let me know if you come across anything that might be useful." Not that any of them needed this reminder at all. Her department knew the way things worked and just what had to be done.

"Before I let you all go has anyone come across anything that might be helpful yet?" If not they were free to return to whatever it was they had been doing.

OOC: If no one has anything to add the meeting is over. So go on and post around the department! XD

It was the start of May. The first few months have flown right by and so far there hadn't been any incidents in their department. Normally a meeting wouldn't be held like this but there was some things happening and they were about to happen quickly.

So here Addison was, in the Break Room after sending a message to each of those in the department. Everyone was to meet right here in about fifteen or so minutes. Hopefully everyone would be on time. Today was the day that they were expecting their guest...someone selected by the Minister to come speak with them about how they handle situations with children. Children. The blonde department head still couldn't get over that...here she was, a mother of three, a aunt to ten and her niece was pregnant. So many babies, children and teens in her life but she was going through this lesson just like the rest of her team.

Not only were they about to partake in whatever it was this lesson entailed but she would also be letting them all know about the interns they might very well be getting this summer. There was a slightly bumpy road ahead for the Department of Mysteries and it wasn't at all their usual work.

Pouring herself some hot tea she settled down on one of the chairs to wait for everyone to arrive.

Slade entered the Break Room and nodded to Anders as he made his way to get some tea. He had assumed the meeting would take place in the Conference Room again when she had mentioned it before. Of course, he was mistaken. The Break Room seemed an odd place to hold a meeting, but at least there was tea. He took up a piece of fruit and sat by his department head. "Today should prove to be interesting and informative."

Meetings after meetings!! Emeric had never been so involved in a Department before. And this was the Department of Mysteries, didn't they like never see each other? He was so use to it just being him and his telescope. He was just in the middle of charting a star aliment when he had received the notice.

This was when whoever was suppose to come talk to them about a situation that he wasn't involved in. How fun! He tried his best to not look annoyed, after all it was just a simple meeting right..... right ... ugh, he took a swig of some coffee and took a seat waiting.

Cypress was here, again, on time. Miracles happened twice, it seemed. Or was it lightening that never struck twice? Who knew. The young man was a little quiet as he rubbed sleep from his eyes, ready to get the meeting over with. He had saaaaaaid he was ready for this training, but a lesson sounded dull. And whoever would be holding it? Hmph. hmPH.

He nodded at Addison, Emeric, and Slade. Where was his pal Adam? He needed his pal, okay? He was hoping Elise would have a nice evening planned for them with Joey, maybe, after how TIRING he predicted today to be already.

"Greetings, all."

To be quite frank, Airey Flamsteed did NOT want to be here. Did he agree that matters could have been handled much better during the investigation of the portal at Hogwarts? Certainly, but that was a two way road and the former Astronomy professor of the very school in question was still quite miffed that Hogwarts STAFF had encouraged some of the insubordination that had hindered his own efforts. Yes, the astronut was calling the kettle black a bit as his own reckless Gryffindor curiosity would have gotten the better of him if he had been a student and Ministry officials swooping in on the scene...but this was ENTIRELY beside the point.

Entering the break room with his 'Live Long and Prosper' - accompanied by a Leonard Nimoy face Spock, obviously - adorned mug in hand, the Evolutionist walked directly over to the coffee pot and filled it to the brim with clear agitation written in the wrinkles of his ~~unusually large~~ forehead. He had only spent 11 years teaching at Hogwarts, the majority of those serving as Gryffindor Head of House, and was a father of three but sure. Yes. Please. Pleeeeeeeeeease someone teach him how to deal with children. ~~Simply ignore the face that tears were still the man's personal form of kryptonite and bloody terrifying...which was why Medea almost exclusively dealt with Atlas because NOPE.~~

"Good day," he grumbled not all that unlike a toddler who had just been told no cookies until they ate all of their vegetables on their dinner plate. Vegetables that said toddler did NOT fancy. Probably cauliflower. The man had not been a particular fan of it in his youth.

Oh he was late, he was late and he didn't mean to be. No Beowulf Wolfeschlegelsteinhausenbergerdorff hated being late. He rushed to the level he was looking for after he had taken forever in security and gotten lost twice. He hadn't been to the ministry in a very long time and the child developmental psychologist was just a bit nervous to be there.

Finally finding the room he automatically knocked before bursting in. "Sorry, sorry, terribly sorry." Pushing up his glasses and with his free hand pulling at his bow tie he looked around the room. Now, where was the department head he had spoken to through owls?

"Dr. Beowulf Wolfeschlegelsteinhausenbergerdorff, thank you for having me."

Val was here, in his usual reserved-by-choice self as he had already been seated with his warm tea. He could tell a number here would've liked to be elsewhere, as would he, but work was work. He had no idea how this meeting was going to pan out, but surely he wouldn't have to change. Would he?

Anyways, it looked like their guest was here and.. slightly disorganized by first impression. Val's brows raised very slightly, could they be on first name basis? He resisted the urge to turn his head to see the other's reaction instead keeping his gaze. A vacant expression, though with expectation. Now he was interested in hearing what was going to be spoken with today.

For several long moments there was nothing but silence in the break room. A silence that didn't at all bother this blonde women as she remained patiently seated, sipping her way to hot tea slowly. With one more slow sip she pushed the mug back a little onto the table before her in a small reminder to herself to allow it a few extra moments to cool down.

One by one the department members began to arrive proving that as always her team did what was asked of them whether or not they approved. "Good morning, gentlemen," she greeted each of them as a whole. Normally they would have received individual greetings but seeing as to how they all arrived fairly at the same time this worked out just as well.

It was very easy to see that not everyone was pleased to be in here this morning and it was understandable. However they all knew what was expected of them. Addison took at look around the room once they all had taken a seat. "Now I know that most of you don't agree with this mornings meeting/training and that's quite alright. However it is something we are all doing together. Now I know that whatever this training entails we will all come out on the other side as a much stronger, smarter department. We can handle this." This wasn't just about one of them it was about all of them as a department. She had the utmost confidence in them all.

Just as she had finished her little speech there was a knock on their door. "Please, come right in," she called out unnecessarily as the gentleman was already hurrying into the room. Rising to her feet she offered her hand right away, "That's quite alright, Doctor, I'm Addison Anders. We've spoken through a few owls. Thank you for coming." Excuse her for not even trying to say his surname! There was just noway she would be getting that correct.

"You're welcome to begin whenever you're ready. Everyone knows why you're here this morning." The floor was now his.

Emeric coughed on his coffee when he heard the man's name. Dear Merlin that couldn't be real could it. Why in the world would he keep it if it was. A heck of a name to spell all the time.

He hoped the coughing and sputtering would maybe go unnoticed. Who was he kidding it was way obvious! "Good afternoon" Emeric decided it was best to make light of the situation right from the beginning. "Heck of a name you have there sir."

Adam was late and he didn’t care. It wasn’t like this meeting had been scheduled out a week ahead of time so he could plan his potions around it. Nope – the meeting notice had come after he begun brewing a potion that required very specific timing. Timing for potion ingredients to be added. Timing for the phases of the moon. Timing for the hours of the day. Heck, even timing for the plucking of the hibiscus flower so it was the exact degree of ripeness….Adam was not about to let his potion and all his hard work go to waste. Did Addison just expect them to abandon a week's worth of work for some lecturing on how to be nicer to kids? He certainly hoped not. Besides, it seemed to him like the kids needed a lesson in respecting their elders.

There was also the fact that he felt like this entire seminar – meeting – teaching – session – whatever you wanted to call it was a result of a bunch of blown out perceptions of a selection of stuck up adult wizards and witches and snotty children.

And so he slipped into the room just as the Doctor introduced himself. When Addison, who rarely missed anything, looked his way, he held his arms up so it looked like he was holding an imaginary bowl of cake batter and gave an imaginary wooden spoon a few whisks.

Taking up residence next to Cypress, his fellow Love Chamber coworker, Adam tried to put on his ‘I really do care about this’ face, which actually looked a lot like his ‘I need to pee’ face. If this turned into a ‘hands on’ type training, he was sooooo going to snag Cypress as his buddy and make that man do all the work.

Hearing a cough, Addison glanced at where it had come from and gave him a simple look that basically asked 'if he was alright'. Seeing as to how Emeric had a cup of coffee in his hand she quickly assumed that the drink had went down wrong. The comment he made about the doctors name got a small smile out of her and she gave just the slightly nod of her head in agreement. It was indeed a very unusual and very LONG name the man had.

The sound of the Break Room door opening didn't go unnoticed, not by her anyhow. Addison turned her blue eyes away from Dr. Beowulf, yes she was going with that, onto Adam. The man was late. What was he doing? Mixing an imaginary bowl or some sort? Did he know he looked like a small child pretending to mix cake batter or something. No, no that couldn't be it. Mixing...mixing things. Ah! Mixing things after adding ingredients. A potion. She got it now. Addi gave a small nod of her head to show she understood glad that he did show up and hadn't missed anything as of yet.

Once more her eyes shifted back onto their guest and she wanted for him to start with their training session.

He could get started. Beowulf looked around the room,
but before he could get started someone said something about his name.
A very loud weird laugh left his smiling mouth. Pushing back his glasses he set his brief case down on the table. "German name actually, my father's family was originally from Germany. It's always a great starter for things like this."

Speaking of things like this he opened his brief case and looked at a few notes. "Now as I said early I am Dr. Beowulf Wolfeschlegelsteinhausenbergerdorff. I am a child development psychologist and I have been asked to come today to discuss ways to speak and deal with children especially those at the teenage years." He glanced around to make sure he was correct on that. Yes, he thought he was. "Now I want to start by asking you to try to remember back to the ages of 11 to 17. Do you have good memories? Bad? How was your home life? How were your friendships? Breakups for the first time?" He looked around the room giving them a moment to think about that.

"A child's maturity age can be very different than that of their development age. It can be based on their exposure to things, their relationships, their home life, so much goes into it. When dealing with children especially those at boarding schools such as Hogwarts we have to remember they have thrown all those children in one castle and even a big castle can't be enough room for all those emotions, developmental changes, and growth." He did another huge obnoxious laugh as if he was laughing at his own joke.

"Please in your own words tell me what you think happened on the day your department had went and what you think could have helped or what could have been done differently."
