Daycare and Nursery

Hello Hello! Bring us your children! [/not creepy] Athena Smith had made it priority number one to be here as early as possible after the Christmas vacation. It was one thing for Anthony to leave but i twas another to leave them practically leaderless. Sure they had to report to Level one but THIS wasn't level one. This was her level and She would take as much pride as she could and she would make sure everyone was comfortable and up to speed with all the daily to do things on their lists. Leaning over her desk She rubbed at her face before tying her hair back out of her face and sighing. She really wished Jamie was here. Why did he have to resign again? Sure she could just stop at his house whenever she wanted or he could come to hers but it just wouldn't be the same without her boys here, all of them. Two were already gone and her heart was heavy. Walking into her daycare room she couldn't help but smile. In a matter of hours it was going to be full with happy smiling children ready for her to keep them safely entertained for the day. That or screaming miserable children wailing for their parents. either way she was prepared. this wasn't her first rodeo. IF she also wasn't mistaken she had a few extra employees to ed to and train today. how fun! [/sarcasm] |

Everyone's. All the pencils. There were no unsnapped pencils in the whole entire school. She'd been ruthless about it and it had taken more than a week... but that was why you didn't push in front of people to use the big winding sharpener. And that was why you didn't get people banned for always from using the big winding sharpener by pushing them, because people would push back. Lola Killick liked using that sharpener much better than the small plastic one in her pencil case. She would've snapped all of those too if she'd figured out a way to break plastic with her bare hands. She could maybe take her dad's wand maybe. Yes. She'd decided. That was what she would do, she would take her dad's wand once she was allowed back to school, and she'd do magic and break all the small sharpeners. All the pencils and all the sharpeners. She had her backpack which had all the things she would need. Homework things were in there, and her lunch was in there, all of it packaged carefully so that no food that wasn't the same food was touching. And it was colour coded. And there were other things in there too. Survival things. Because if Zombies happened, Lola was not going to be caught out. She stopped short in the entrance way and looked around. It looked different. It wasn't all baby things. That was good, but she had liked it when there weren't all the colours, when it looked more like a hospital. Lola started moving again, walking around the entire room, running one hand along the wall where she could reach it, and ending up back at the door again before stepping away from the wall and making a beeline for the lady in the blue top. "I'm here today." The ten year old informed her... and then fixed her with a blue-eyed stare, clearly waiting for some kind of response. |

She gave the girl a warm smile before taking her glasses off her head, she didn't need them at the moment. "Hello, i see that you are." where was her parent to sign her in? "is your mum or dad coming behind you?" she couldn't sign herself in. Only the one able to sign her out and take her could do that. "My Name's Athena, what's yours?"maybe she could send a memo to said parent or an angry Fox patronus, maybe that would work. hmmm?? "are you going to be with me all day?" She wondered why the girl wasn't in school but atlas that wasn't her concern Her job was to keep the child safe and entertained, which was easier said then done, for the rest of the day. |

"Is that the only exit?" She pointed at the way she had come in. |
Amy Harrington wanted to make a good impression on her first day of her new job. Technically, she got a day off work on her very first day due to the Christmas vacation, but she was ready to jump into work as soon as the ministry opened. The new employee walked into the daycare area, feeling very much like a child herself. She paused at the entrance and stared. This was a perfect daycare Amy had in mind, all colorful with activities for both little children and older ones. More confident now, she walked up to a desk where a friendly-looking woman and a girl were talking. "Good morning." he nineteen-year-old said to the both of them, smiling. "I'm Amy Harrington, new attendant." Amy added, hoping none of them would mistake her for a kid or a parent. |
Lola and Amy. no quotes cos lazy. She couldnt help but beam at the little love as she spoke. It was as if the child could see right into her brain. "i happen to very very smart in fact." smarter then she ever let on to anyone at the ministry but it was none of their business what she did or did not know. The fact that Lola, here wasnt allowed in school currently did raise her awareness just slightly. "why arent you allowed in school right now Lola?" did she blow up a science lab? Or stick minor explosives under others desks? Merlin she hoped it was worth it. Raising an eyebrow she eyed the exit. "yes it is. And you are not able to leave it without me or your guardian." yay magic! The girl was stuck here. So if she had any crazy tricks up her sleeves that invluded walking out that door she was in for a rude awakening. Speaking of the door, vthe blonde lifted her head and stood up from her leaning over the desk position and gave the strange woman a welcoming smile all while being aware of Lola. Oh. Oh. OH! "Amy!"she had been waiting for this one. "its so nice to put a face to a name." she extended her right hand towards the younger girl who looked fresh out of school."Athena Smith. Daycare Supervisor and your go to lady for any and all SA level purposes." Says her. No one knew this department better then her. Especially not Gavin from level one. "this here is Miss Lola. So far shes all we have for the day." So it should be pretty simple and easy going for the most part of it. "Lola, why dont you go in that room there and pull your homework out while i talk to Miss Amy. We can knock that homework out real quick then we can have fun the rest of the day, yea?" she nodded and gave an encouraging smile to the girl before she waited for her to run off. Amy here needed a run down. |

She turned to the young girl, grinning. "Hi, Lola." She waved at her slightly. Lola did not look very small, and a mixture of relief and worry showered over Amy as she wondered if the girl was a quiet and shy type, or a mean and nasty type. She felt nervous as Athena sent Lola into another room. In a moment she would learn more about her new job. |
The last time she set foot in this daycare she was six months pregnant with the twins and she did not have a good experience. No she remembered standing for some time being fully ignored by two of the workers. One who wasn't there anymore, but she hoped that his departure and the change that happened maybe would make people realize that they needed to speak with possible customers not ignore them. Walking in just as she did before, she smiled nicely. Looking around she took an evaluation of the area. What could she do to help boost it's ratio of children, what could she do to improve the workers want to strive to be better, and what could the daycare do for the ministry. These questions stayed in her head as she entered and waited on someone to speak to. |
*finally has a moment for this* Quote:
No children. Sad. Smiling up at the woman she extended a hand for her. "Good afternoon, welcome to the Ministry daycare. I'm Athena Smith daycare supervisor how may I help you?" Merlin tell her ANYTHING besides her being shut don. She would seriously cry. Let's just ignore the fact that theirs no kids here today. Who will she finger paint with at 3pm?! |

She glanced around and back to the woman, "Is it always so quiet?" She had tried to get her own two children in once, but that didn't work out so well, which it was fine, her parents did a great job with them. "I'd like ot get your thoughts about things that could help get this place a little more well known and how as minister, if I would be elected, what we could work together with to help support this area." She knew they had taken a hit not getting a department head and she hoped that wasn't the reason for the lack of attendance. Had it gone down hill since? She wouldn't think, she knew the other department heads were working well with the area, so that probably wasn't it. It was probably just an odd case to be so quiet. |

Whoops that was an RPer error.. Culloden not Maroon.. *hides in dumb corner* Quote:
She couldn't help but feel bad for the lady when she saw the frown go across her face. "I knew Anthony, he was a very nice man." She had her run ins with him, but he knew her personality and she had gotten to know his. "I was sorry to see him go." It was sad to see anyone go really, "Well I'd like to try to brain storm to help bring some more business. So many ministry employees have children that could be using this facility, we just need to get your name out there and the reputation a bit higher." She had first hand experience at one point as to why her two girls weren't there, but that could certainly change if she was proven otherwise. She took a seat and pulled out her parchment, "Now I would like to hear your thoughts and ideas. I think if we make it known about employee discounts that could help, I know my own department is thinking about doing someone with the kids using Gobstones." That could bring focus to the daycare children. She tried to think of some other things that could help as well. |
What happened while a certain beautiful wife of his was teaching in another continent? Xavier was left with a rambunctious nine-year-old. Unfortunately Jack and Marisca were busy helping Eve and Johnathan with baby #2 things, and there was no way he was leaving his kid at the Falcons pitch with Peyton. Neither possessed the maturity to behave. But he HAD to attend this meeting. "Now, listen to whoever's in charge, all right?" Xavier hoisted his son's dinosaur backpack on his shoulder. So damn tiny it hardly fit around his manly arms. "And eat your lunch I packed you and don't forget to say thank you." He paused after entering the daycare area. Xavier was having trust issues. Stuff happens at the Ministry, he knew. But Kennedy was around and he got word that Cornelius was going to be here, so that meant protection for his kid. He was overreacting, of course, this was his only boy in the litter of girls and his heir. "Helloooo?" Anybody home? |
For Joel and Jenn! So, finally the time has come, Saxon and Deacon were going to ask if the daycare would be ok with the Magical and Games department letting them use the daycare for their own personal, magical games gain. The blonde really hoped that those in charge here would be ok with their idea, because then it would be back to some brainstorming for them, wouldn't it? Saxon made her way into the daycare center and stopped right by the entrance. Wow, this place was quite colorful, wasn't it? Kind of made her slightly dizzy but she was able to cope. She didn't want to get lost or anything, and maybe her standing here would bring attention to herself, lets hope for that. Besides, Deacon should be arriving soon too, if she remembered. |

This event was going to be pretty cool in Deacon's mind. As soon as they were approved about it. Speaking of which, he was sure they would since Saxon and him had some good enough reasons that led them to the next step in the process. Being here. So here was Deacon as he gave the lovely Saxon a sup-kinda nod, "Hey.. did I miss anything?" He wasn't much on being prompt but in this case. Yeah. It wouldn't be good if he had been late. |

SPOILER!!: Deacon SPOILER!!: Athena Ah. See! Deacon was here in no time, good. It would've shown some bad manners, and make a made impression on the people here at the daycare if Saxon mentioned their plans with Deacon, and he being a no show. So, nothing to worry about now. "No, actually. I was just waiting...." She started but soon her speech faded as she heard someone call them out. Must be one of the daycare employees at charge. Saxon picked up the rest of the papers the lady had forgotten and held them out towards here. There came a laugh from her when asked about children, "Unfortunately there are no children with us right now for you to spend your time with?" Oh god. She was already off to a bad start. Now, lets be a bit serious about right now. Impressions. "My coworker here, Deacon and I, Saxon, work for Magical Games and Sports and we'd like to speak about proposing an idea to the daycare employees here." Surely she had to be one of them or else she wouldn't be holding such papers or asking these questions. Saxon just gave the woman a small smile. |
SPOILER!!: You two *Snort* Well, that one he couldn't help it escaping through his contorted lips. Yeah, Saxon was handling this explaining better than him before he eventually managed his perfectly straight face again. Kids were cool to Deacon, just having one of his own wasn't his thiiing. You know, for reasons. "That's right. We have a proposition that would get the little ones engaged and excited about one of our safest sports." That was a good keyword here. Since this would involve the little ones. |

"could i interest either of you in some tea?" She wanted tea. She reached into her desk and pulled out a quill and some parchment before getting up and going over to her little tea area in her office. Tea tiiime |
"Oh, it's no problem." Truly. Saxon had suffered worst embarrassment in front of her coworkers and boss. Anyone remember her crashing I got the chairs in the conference room because she had thought she'd arrived late? This was nothing. "Gobstones, to be more precise." The blonde said with a nod. Oh good, they'd found the right person right off the hat so there was no need for awkward stalling of the sort. "Our department wants to carry on forward with a children's Gobstones program. We're bringing in professionals to help with the lessons and some of our own department people." Most importantly her and Deacon. "We feel that the daycare center is a suitable place to hold them, considering parents already drop off their children here and that there would be no need to move them to a location where they could easily get lost or it would be an inconvience to the adults." Did Deacon have anything else to add? He was pretty good at being a smooth talker with his words. Perhaps Saxon could inform while he tried to persuade. Team up! |
sorry for delay, here at last :) Giving one of his soft smiles, Deacon reassuringly said," You're alright." There was no need for a pretty little lady like her to be embarrassed or any lady for that matter. Deacon liked being the gentleman for one. For genuine reasons. Oh, she was offering tea? "Why thank you." She was quite nice. He watched as the exchanging of the papers and documents were being made. They were so professional as Saxon explained the details. Let's see, they had already established how good it would look for the Games & Sports Department, now for the Daycare. "The Daycare section here that's been beautifully established would also get the children even more excited to stay and help instill early good behavior once the lessons take place." A little thick? Well, he was one for bringing that thickness to the table and other places. "As most know, getting kids involved in sports instills discipline. And we'd make sure the gobstones were appropriately sized for the youngest ones." Now how did that sound? |
Sorry im late! As it stood Athena was indeed interested in this proposal for the kids. "So it would be as like a junior Gobstones training course for them. you would bring in real pros to tech the kids how to go on with the sport in the safest ways?" was she following this right? "please correct me if i'm wrong." she brought tea and some teacups back to the desk and motioned for them to help herself. "how many professionals are you interested in bringing in. what would be the pro to child ratio?" all important questions to the woman. |
No problem 3> Quote:
The blonde grabbed one of the teacups but let it rest carefully on the desk, as she waited for it to cool down a little bit first. "We're not quite sure on that, yet. But we do have some professionals up for the job, and we're waiting to hear from anymore soon. We'll definitely have enough, if that were the case." Now, was that a good offer? Saxon figured she should try to patch it up a bit more. "Most likely, so that the place doesn't become too chaotic, we would be splitting the children into small groups, based off their age, that the professionals and us can handle on our own." Was that a good enough selling point? She sure hoped so. |
Mercedes was both excited and nervous. Harper was going to daycare here, where she worked. They had decided to try out the daycare here. Today was the first day. The blonde arrived there early, she knew that there would probably be tons of papers to fill out. Harper was now eight months old. It was so hard to believe that her baby was growing up. Wasn't it just yesterday that she was on maternity leave? She was bouncing the rather fussy eight month old. She was not a morning person and that had become clear at only a few weeks old. "Oh,Harper it's going to be okay. mommy will be right here." In the building, so all was good. Chris would be home over the summer break, and he could stay at home with her then. It was perfect they would love all the farther/daughter time. She waited patiently for someone to arrive, she was fairly early herself. So it was no big deal. |
