He was not warming up to her and he did not trust her. All of this talking, the interaction was a byproduct of sleep deprivation. Nothing more. If he were more articulate he would have expressed that. Except he wouldn't have. More likely he would have just run away.

Ferris shook his head, "It's in Beta testing on animals. Their thoughts first." It was proving to be quite successful thus far. Although he wasn't sure why knowing mice thought mostly about cheese was helpful, but it was a stepping stone to the overall goal.

"I really wish you wouldn't test on animals. There are enough people that would be willing to be test objects. There is no need to put animals through that." She didn't mean to get snippy,but she just hated this topic.

Ferris supplied a logical answer, "Because this experiment does not cause any harm to animals. It is a mind reading product designed to be stealthy in nature. If they felt something the design would be flawed." And he did not create flawed inventions so the animals he was testing on were fine.

If she had a problem with animal testing that was her prerogative but she was also preaching to the wrong choir. There were potioneers who needed to hear that far more than Ferris did.

She knew it didn't or at least hoped it didn't, but if it would be messed up or didn't work the way they wanted she was fearful it might harm them. This was one of her issues she wanted to take on if she would have gotten elected, but she didn't so she was just an advocate for now. "I trust you are brilliant at your job." Merlin knew it wasn't his people skills that kept him in his position, no offense Ferris.

"When do you think the prototype will be available to be seen by others? I'm always interested in seeing what the department is doing and the offer is still there if you need a human to test on, I would volunteer." She wasn't fearful to any of the experiments. She did try a new love potions for the mysterious department.

Mercedes definitely needed a coffee. Life was just busy and crazy right now with two kids now a three year old and a 4 month old. She wondered how some could do with three or even more. To make things worst Greyson had a very fussy night and Harper was awake all night because of Greyson. She had missed breakfast and usual cup of coffee at home. She dropped Harper off at preschool and Greyson off at the ministry daycare.

Coffee, yes the forty something woman was in need of coffee. Alana had been up all night with a fever and she hadn't gotten much sleep. Victoria was now realizing why people had children in their twenties. Though she did have a child at that age, she was still feeling that her morning would be going smoother if she was in fact early thirties.

Why was there a line???

She looked at the people in front of her, some she knew some she didn't. Vic was glad Level Seven's coffee cart was as popular as it was, but right now she just wanted her extra large cup and possibly a pastry and then off to her desk to get started. Already with some injury reports and fines she had a busy day ahead of her.

Deciding that the line was worth the wait, he sidled up next to his friend and colleague rather than hesitating behind. "Morning, Vic."

She was sure of getting a peppermint anything at this point. It was the Holiday and she should celebrate with peppermint flavored coffee. So that was her decision yes, she would have that today. It could help her wake up and get her in the Christmas mood. Speaking of she hadn't even started her shopping yet and she was adding a new person to the list.

Her mind started drifting the thought that it would the first Christmas without her own father when she heard someone beside her. Looking over she gave her friend a smile, "Adam hello." Their friendship had grown over the years and she considered both him and Lori almost family.

"How are the kids and Stemp House? Do you have a wish list for the Holidays that the community could donate towards the house?" She always thought it was just amazing they opened a house for children up so if she could help or even just donate money she would.

It had been a long night. The blonde wished she could say she was out all night but that wasn't the case. She was too busy reading some muggle books. Reading muggle books have been her thing lately. She didn't really know why but it's been causing her lose sleep. Some of the books were interesting but some of them weren't horrible, just not her thing.

Talullah made her way from her Quidditch office over to get some coffee. She was more of a latte fan but coffee to her had a little more kick to it. The Irishwoman walked over to the coffee cart and refreshments to see what was over here today. What was she going to have today.

Looking over today's choices, she quickly picked out her favorite on in her head and waited for the woman in front of her to choose first.

It was only common courtesy since the other person had gotten there before her.

I did not even notice if you took long or not, " She added a nod and proceeded to make her own coffee once the woman had stepped aside. She was oddly familiar but Gabriela couldn't pinpoint from where besides the department.

"I am Gabriela," She held out her hand for the other girl to shake. Might as well meet your fellow coworkers.

With only Jude or Jorgie at home, the Stemp family residence was eerily quiet, especially after the summer with all ten of them at home. Adam always thought that he'd get used to it, but every time another one of his children left it sort of broke his heart all over again.

And having the beauties that were Sparrow and Libby off at school was a strange feeling, and he knew that the excitable pair would forget to write. At least they could rely on Lilah and Ringo to keep track of them, and let him know what was going on with the youngest set of twins - he could more than rely on them.

As for Saffron and Corbin being seventh years... Well, that wasn't reflected in the few lines on his face, even if he had found some grey hairs when he was shaving that morning. Running a hand through his hair, he undid his jacket as he approached the coffee cart and started to pour his first cup of the day.

"They're... great," Adam admitted. "Eight of them off at Hogwarts - Liberty got sorted into Ravenclaw, Sparrow into Gryffindor - and just Jude and Jorgie at home now." A sort of wistfulness crept into his voice as he spoke, but he knew that Victoria would understand - Merlin, he felt old.

But that didn't stop him from laughing at his friends story. "Oh, grandchildren! Let's hope Saffron and Corbin give me some time after they graduate before I have to babysit them!" He was sure, of course, that Christian was absolutely wonderful, but he thought that if his eldest had children of their own his hair might turn white overnight. "Although I feel like if we didn't have the young ones at Stemp House Lorelai would be on the count down for them to give her a baby to look after."

Ever the perfect motherly figure, his wife was. "How old is he now?"

Adam nodded. "Perfect. Nothing particularly exciting, no, just the usual."

"They're... great," Adam admitted. "Eight of them off at Hogwarts - Liberty got sorted into Ravenclaw, Sparrow into Gryffindor - and just Jude and Jorgie at home now." A sort of wistfulness crept into his voice as he spoke, but he knew that Victoria would understand - Merlin, he felt old.

But that didn't stop him from laughing at his friends story. "Oh, grandchildren! Let's hope Saffron and Corbin give me some time after they graduate before I have to babysit them!" He was sure, of course, that Christian was absolutely wonderful, but he thought that if his eldest had children of their own his hair might turn white overnight. "Although I feel like if we didn't have the young ones at Stemp House Lorelai would be on the count down for them to give her a baby to look after."

Ever the perfect motherly figure, his wife was. "How old is he now?"

Adam nodded. "Perfect. Nothing particularly exciting, no, just the usual."

So many off to Hogwarts, where did the time go?
"Wow I can't believe how grown they are, but Elisa is at Hogwarts now too and Alana, well Alana is adjusting." Her daughter being a squib was hard on all of them, but she feared Alana truly wasn't adjusting and it was just rough on her, part of her reason for not sleeping. She worried about her daughter more than anything. "I can't believe Bart has been out of school for as long as he has now." Her son was an adult, married, with a child,
it was crazy.

She couldn't help but laugh at his comment about grandkids, "I worried sick that Bart would have them way too early, but then he found out he couldn't have any at all. When Cinna had the friend that needed someone to take her son I thought they were still too young even though they were married and in their careers, but you know how hard children are and having them too young in a marriage. Best choice they ever made though, I couldn't see life without Christian. " She could see her friend being a great grandmother, but it was too soon for their children to have babies yet. "He is four now, I can't believe how big he is, but he is still a handful." Whoever thought two and three was a bad age clearly didn't spend time with a four year old boy.

"That will probably change, quidditch starting and all, brooms will be coming your way more often."
