And it was sad, listening to Khara explain what had happened to her family. He couldn't imagine that either. No support system, no extended family after knowing them for years, all because of one little secret... "Well...you're making your own family, right? With your animals. And Digby," he nodded with a smile. "And Cami and I can be part of it too. The crazy cousins or something," he chuckled. He was seriously the sweetest, did he know? She couldn't help but lean over and hug him. She hugged and gave him a small kiss on the cheek. You are like family, you both are. You have made my world better being in it." She knew she could be sappy for sure and he just brought that out in her.
As for the family making, "Well that's complicated I think, I mean yes we are a family being married and now we have Broc and he's certainly part of the family, but I'm just not fully sure about kids yet. I mean he said he didn't want any and that really worked on me, but I figured maybe it just wasn't meant to be my thing, but now he is talking about buying a house and starting a family, so maybe it still is in my future." The smile was unmistakable that she wanted that, she did want to be a mother at some point, but she wasn't going to fully come out and say that, because she didn't want to start anything with Digby nor did she want anyone to think her and Dig were not on good terms when they were.

Javier blushed, which was NOT something he usually did. He also didn't usually let people kiss his cheek, but Khara was an exception. "You're being so sappy today," he chuckled, grinning at her. Maybe it was because she was around Cami. Kids always made women act so weird.
He frowned when she started talking about how, because Digby hadn't wanted kids, Khara had thought that maybe that meant she wasn't meant to have them. He was about to tell her Digby was an idiot - he knew they were close enough that she'd get that was coming from a place of caring, honestly - but then she said he was coming around to the idea. Buying a house? Starting a family. He smiled and chuckled to himself. "You're meant to be a mum, Khara. I don't think the universe would let you NOT have kids, honestly," he told her with a grin. "I'm glad to hear he's coming around to it. I'm sure it's been burrowing in his brain, watching you take care of nifflers and all that," he joked, although after he said it, he realized he probably HAD done just that.

"I think you bring that out in me." Joking she nudged him a bit, but she wasn't truly joking, she was more emotional around people she truly cared about and Javi had become one of those people. She felt so close with him, like he really knew her and what her inner thoughts and wants were. She couldn't have asked for a better friend and she was so happy to have him in her life.
If she wasn't sure if he truly knew her his next sentence made her really know and actually took her by surprise, "You really think so? I mean I was an only child growing up and haven't really been around babies that much, well other than the zoo. Cami doesn't count since she was older when I met you." Making sure she added that in in case he tried to use it. Though the look on her face showed his words made her heart melt and her head think about being a mother even more. Could she really be good at it? Would Digby really want children? "I'm just nervous he really doesn't want them and is just saying it to make me happy. If that's the case.." She didn't want to end that sentence because if that was the case, would he leave once the baby was there? "Oh I don't bring them home anymore, he wasn't a big fan of them taking up my time at home." She blushed at the thoughts that came with why he didn't like them there. [b] "I was happily surprised he was okay with getting Broc, he even picked him out."[/]b She loved their puppy so much.

"I had literally NO CLUE what I was doing when I decided to try and adopt Cami. But she was mine, so I knew it was the right thing to do. I got the hang of it after a while...although I still wonder sometimes if I know what I'm doing," Javi admitted with a smile. Did anyone REALLY ever get the parenting thing totally DOWN though? He knew his parents kept telling him that they still didn't know what they were doing, and he was 30. He was pretty sure that was to make him feel better, though. "Well if that's the case, then, find someone who will have kids with you," he said nonchalantly with a shrug. Seemed like a simple fix to him. He bit his lip and looked away after that, though, knowing that might be kind of a touchy subject and wasn't actually THAT simple. After all, he didn't really have a choice to go at this thing along. Karina had made that choice for him before he even knew about Cami. "I'm sure he isn't just saying that, though," he told her quickly with a blush. "I mean, I haven't actually met him but from what you've told me, he's making an effort. I don't think he would say that if he wasn't ready," he assured her. Cami, meanwhile, was now picking those random wildflowers from the grass, getting pollen alllllllll over herself and her new dress in the process. SIGH.

You are an amazing father." She patted his arm encouragingly. "There might be a time where I have to ask you parenting advice." This picture came to her as funny, but not because she thought badly of his parenting, but because of how far they have grown in their friendship.
She couldn't help but let her mouth fall open and look at him as he said to find someone else. "I'm not sure if you have noticed but I wasn't never a super real catch. The guy I almost dated before Digby stole one of my nifflers, and before that was just guys who spent one date with me and never owled again." Shrugging that off, because she knew she wasn't someone that guys really looked twice at, but Digby made her feel like one of those girls. She couldn't just leave him if he didn't want kids, could she? She could live without having any, yes, "I don't think I'd leave for that reason, I mean we should have probably talked about that before getting married but if he doesn't really want any, I'll be able to live with that."
They hadn't met, how had they not met yet, "We need to fix that. Maybe you could come over for dinner this week or something." Her best friend and husband should meet, that was crazy they hadn't. Maybe them meeting could help Javi see what she meant at times and not have to just assume based on what she was saying. "I think he worries he won't get all the attention from me after the baby, I mean he won't, but I wouldn't just fully ignore him. "

One of his favorite places to go to whenever he had free time and he wasn't at work, was the park. Being stuck inside a laboratory at the ministry all day , every day of the week was 't that fun and he needed to fresh air. Now, had it been a potions laboratory, he'd have loved to spend his free time at work. As a potions major, Kevin was a bit saddened that he was doing something that did not involve making potions.
But that was why he was working. To make money so that he could afford his own apartment with a potions Laboratory. Still, his job wasn't that bad. It was different every day and although he saw danger, he was never in danger like the Aurors.
Kevin sat on a bench near the pond and watched the water for a moment. He then bend down and picked up a handful of small stones and started throwing them as far as he could in to the pond, rippling the water.

The office just wasn't doing it for her this morning. Her review of last night's performance just wouldn't tumble out of brain onto the page as it usually did, and the general bustle of the Daily Prophet offices was proving to be a distraction rather than the usual background noise her writing required. So, she'd packed up her notes, and notepad and quill in hand, had gone for a wander.
Opal hadn't aimed for anywhere in particular, but before long, she'd entered the park and reached the pond. The gentle noise of the rippling water seemed ideal for her thought process. "Do you mind if I sit here?" she asked, approaching the nearby bench and spying the guy already sat there. He didn't look like he was awaiting company, but one didn't like to assume.

Being in Law Enforcement meant that he was in constant vigilance even when it was his day off. That meant that while he was throwing the small stones in to the water, his attention was actually on the woman walking in his direction. His suspicion that she would want to sit on the bench as well had been proven right when she asked and the ex-Gryffindor scoot over to the side. "Sure, whatever" he said as he threw another stone in to the water but this time he tried to make it skip. The stone skipped twice before it sunk down.
With the last stone thrown, Kevin leaned back with his arms behind his head and looked up at the sky for a couple of seconds, wondering if it would rain later on the day. "Are you writing a novel?" he asked curiously as he looked back down to earth and nodded at the notepad in her hands.

Opal watched the stone skip along the surface as she sat down, slipping her bag from her shoulder and on to the bench beside her. There was thoughtful look as she watched the ripples on the water dissipate, her quill stroking gently on her chin.
She chuckled lightly as his question broke into her thoughts. A novel? Hardly. With this morning's writer's block, the idea of writing an idea book seemed laughable. "Nowhere close to that long," she replied with a light shake of the head. "Just a theatre review for a show I saw last night. Hoped some fresh air might help sift through my thoughts."

Or was she in the middle and the brutally honest reviewer?

Or was she in the middle and the brutally honest reviewer? Opal couldn't help but look him over curiously. Why in Merlin's pants would she choose to be a theatre reviewer, watching several shows new and old alike a week, if she didn't like the theatre? "The stage is my second home," she confirmed with a nod. "I studied at WADA before, but I decided I rather preferred critiquing and writing about performances than being in them." And she'd barely done two years working as a journalist, but it seemed to be working out okay so far...ignoring the odd howler or two.
...and another odd question. "Depends on the show. I like to think I give constructive criticism, but I'm sure the performers regularly disagree." By now, she'd figured that perhaps he wasn't much of a theatre-goer. "You're not a fan of the performing arts then? What tickles your fancy instead?"
