The park would provide him a moment to think apart from the hustle and bustle of Diagon Alley. That's when he spotted a man who looked like he was about to put his feet in the pond. "Does that feel nice? I always imagined it to be kinda gross in there." Slimy things and whatnot. Not that the Creatures professor was against a gross feeling or two.
Slowly....... ever so slowly.......
A small hiss escaped the man's lips as his feet touched the, slightly, cool water. It wasn't as cool as he'd hoped but it was much cooler than the still air so he was grateful, at least. Figuring that it could be worse, he proceeded to dip the other toes and then both feet into the wa-

But they were saying something and he had no time to ponder who they could be or why they whether they really were a stranger or not. "Gross?" He shook his head. "Not very. I mean, there are probably some pebbles and maybe Muggle money in there but nothing life threateningly disgusting." He even peered at the surface of the water to check, just in case. The little blonde knew from Connor's footsteps and voice just how close he was behind him. Rather then speed up though Koen slowed down just enough to allow himself to be caught. He was ready to get some ice cream or play something else. Whichever happened first.
Connor grinned. "I wouldn't mind you in any House but we'll see. I bet your mom will be rooting for Gryffindor.'' Of course Addison would be. Connor would be the proudest if Koen would be in Slytheirn which happened to be the best House ever. "No pressure for me Koen. Any House would be lucky to have you.''
"Got you!'' Connor scooped his son up in his arms. Then, on impulse, he lifted the boy onto his shoulders so that Koen was sitting on them. "How about we go for ice cream now? We can get back to playing more games later.'' I ice cream sounded really good after that bit of workout.

Koen laughed. "Oh, she is. She's been saying for years how nice it would be for me to be in her former house...she also wanted me in yours though." He had never been to sure as to why and he hadn't asked his mom why either. "I'm not a Hufflepuff or a Ravenclaw though." So any house would be good except those two. Just so he got one of the two houses he felt he'd fit into best he would be fine.
The boy laughed shaking his head. "Dad, put me down!" Now really he didn't care that he was being carried but he wasn't all that light anymore and he wasn't that small either. If Connor complained later that night about his back aching Koen would know why. "Yeah, chocolate." Ice cream was one way to always get his attention.

"Okay, okay. You aren't a Hufflepuff nor a Ravenclaw,'' Connor said with a laugh. "Well, it seems you'll have to do what your mom says.'' Addison was a woman who knew what she wanted and wanting, or hoping, Koen was in one of the remaining Houses.
"I will not,'' the man said, holding Koen safely. But Merlin! His boy was heavier. Koen's weight was already taking a toll on him. "Never mind. The tickle monster might just have to put you down.'' With a laugh, Connor lifted the boy off. Gone were the days when he could lift Koen for long distanced without a hitch.
"Chocolate for you it is. Three scoops like we said.'' Connor lead him off to get some of the treat.

Good. His dad finally agreed with him. If anyone just really looked at him they would know that he was in noway going to be placed in either of those to houses. Koen gave a quiet laugh and a nod of his head. "I know, no one goes against her." His mom was a very smart strong women.
"Will to," he answered knowing that he had to be put down sooner or later. He wasn't a little thirty pound kid anymore. It only took another minute or two to prove that he had been right and the blonde boy was being set down onto his feet. "Told you dad." Cue the trademark smirk for being right in this situation.
Walking alongside Connor he headed towards the ice cream shop. "Okay." There wasn't anyway he would argue on the amount of ice cream when it had already been agreed to. Now all they needed to do was get there and enjoy the cold treat.

It was a beautiful afternoon and since Zach had finished up his work at the magazine's headquarters, he thought he could leave a little early to enjoy the rest of the day by himself. Thankfully, his boss had agreed and so here, he was enjoying the sunshine and the gentle breeze that rippled through his hair.
This was the first time in years he had visited the park in years and he was pleased to see that not much had changed. He used to come here with his mom's sister and his cousins when he was smaller and in England for vacation. They would have picnics here. His aunt would be sure to make lots of macaroni and cheese for him since it was his favourite. Those were some of his best memories. Zach stopped at the pond, his hands stuck in the front pocket of his pants. He stared absently down at the water and his reflection stared back up.
There was one thing bothering him and that happened to be his thoughts of Ansley. Ever since their first meeting, he thought of the man daily. "Forget it, Zacharoni. He's not interested in you,'' he muttered to himself and using that old nickname his aunt had came up with for him.

Why would he be? asked his conscience.
It was slightly strange not returning to Hogwarts for his third year, but at the same time not so much. It wasn't as if he had been there for a significant amount of time and if that had been the case perhaps it would have felt even more odd. But he had gotten a new and better paying position at a muggle university, one that he was best able to use his artistic skills. He thought it was a great fit.
What was odd though, was the fact that he was not obligated to live at the school or nearby. Of course he was not forced to live at Hogwarts when he worked there, but he was required to look after students after hours and on the weekends much of the time so it did make sense to stay as much as possible, even with floo technology. With this new job, when he was finished with classes he was able to leave for the day.
And so it happened that on this particular day, he had early classes which left the rest of the afternoon and evening free. Ansley decided to take advantage of the nice weather and head over to the park not far from his flat. It was always a nice setting not only for inspiration for an art lesson or two, but inspiration for his own artwork. In fact he had been sitting on a bench, sketching several views of the park in his sketchbook.
He was in the process of drawing the pond and determining the best view when he spotted a man on the other side. Ansley paused to watch him for a moment, not able to clearly make out his face at the distance he was, though he did seem familiar. Could it be that man he had met at the bookstore a couple weeks ago? Zach? He actually had the man on his mind and was mentally kicking himself for not asking him out or asking for his contact info. What were the chances that he'd even ever see him again? London was a big place. But surely his mind was playing tricks on him being that the man had been on his mind and he shook his head, laughing lightly to himself. It couldn't be him. What were the odds?

Brushing a lock of hair from his eyes as he lifted his eyes from his reflection. How long had he been standing there? He was so caught up in thoughts of Ansley that he actually lost track of time.
You'd do well to stop thinking about him, don't you think?
Ignoring the question on his mind, he started off again along the path. He'd head back to his apartment soon. There was a new book he ha recently acquired from the local library he wanted to get started on. Plus he wanted to call his parents. He missed them.
Zach glanced at the persons around him as he headed down the path without really seeing them. That is, until he came closer to someone that was definitely familiar. Walk away now, Zach. Walk away. He doesn't need to see you.
He slowly stepped closer, peering at the sketch. Damn! What a talent! He couldn't help but admire the work that had been done. Then he cleared his throat.

September was beautiful. It was one of Zhenya's favourite times of year, after summer. It was nicer weather for hiking and camping, and Zhenya enjoyed being outside. She had just gone for a jog around the park, and was now on the bench waiting for Gabby. Someone who was, really, an aunt, but who she thought of as a cousin. She supposed it helped that her uncle was so much younger than her father, and that she worked at the same place as Gabby. For now, anyway.

Giant pretzel in hand, Gabby made her way towards her niece, chewing a piece of her snack as she went. Not until recently did she think she would ever eat something like this, but it was actually nice. Helped that it was still warm. So good.
"Hey, Zhenya!" she said as she gave the younger woman a hug before sitting beside her on the bench. "Nice day to be outside, huh? Makes me want to have a barbecue or something." Now that would be amazing. Maybe she and Archer could have one later even if it was just for them and his parents. "So how are you?" It was polite to ask and she did care...at least when it came to people that mattered to her.

"Gabby! Hi!" Zhenya said, getting up to give Gabby a hug. Zhenya was a hugger, and she was glad that Gabby wasn't one to brush the hugs off. "It's so beautiful today, I went for a jog around the park. even the smell is wonderful." She took a deep inhale of the scent of impending autumn. "A barbecue sounds great. Are you craving much grilled things?"
"Uhh... I'm okay. I'm going to resign tomorrow. I start the new job in a month, down at St Mungo's Maternity. Lots to organise before hand. I'm excited but a bit nervous." She took a gulp from her water bottle. "How are you?" she asked.

Gabby smiled as she hugged her niece and then it was over. She really wasn't a big hugger though it was okay from family. Mostly she just loved hugging Archer and their daughter. Those were the best hugs though Zhenya's were nice too. "Jogging is nice. I want to go on one." Maybe she would later today. She popped the last bit of pretzel in her mouth. When she had swallowed it, she continued speaking. "Sometimes, though mostly sweet stuff like last time. Archer is back to buying all the stores out of ice cream." No regrets.
Ah, of course. They had heard all about the internship. "Well, me and Archer are really happy and proud. You will do great. Certainly did with me." And still was since there was another baby. "I'm good. Hungry." She laughed. Really she was happy and excited on the most part. "Honestly I do get exhausted." It will be nice not to be pregnant anymore though things would feel worse before they got better. She just wanted their baby.

"Well you're always welcome to come jogging with me," she said with a smile. "I try to get out at least once a day. It just takes away my stress." Not that she had a LOT of stress, but it was there. Zhenya laughed, delighted at her uncle for being such a good father and husband. "That's great! You're doing the big part, really, it's only fair he goes to buy some ice cream." She laughed again.
A proud grin spread across her face at Gabby's words. "Well it was my absolute pleasure to be there with you for your pregnancy and Valeria's birth. It really was life changing. For both of us! Although you more so," she said. It had been life changing for Zhenya because it was the moment she KNEW she wanted to work to deliver babies into the world, and provide the mothers with the best care and healing treatments she could. "I hope you're taking care of yourself. Getting plenty of rest and sleep. Wearing appropriate shoes," she looked down to Gabby's feet. "And Archer, is he taking a lot of the load off your plate at home? Doing the chores and things?" Zhenya kept asking questions until she paused, blushed, and apologised. "Oh, I'm sorry... I need to stop being so clinical when we're out for a catch up." It was hard! She cared about Gabby and wanted to make sure she was well, and being taken care of.

He would never be able to forget that face... what a handsome one it was. But wait! Surely he was imagining things? He blinked hard as though that would help.
It really was him.
For some reason, Zach's heart started pounding excitedly.
Walk away now, Zach. Walk away. He doesn't need to see you.
He slowly stepped closer, peering at the sketch. Damn! What a talent! He couldn't help but admire the work that had been done. Then he cleared his throat.
"H-hi, An-Ansley.''
Stupid nerves. The were making him stutter.
Ansley tried to go back to his sketching, but he couldn't help his eyes drifting back to the man, causing his pencil to stop moving. Had Zach been on his mind so much that he was now imagining, hoping even, that the random stranger across the pond would be him? Possibly. Perhaps it was naive for him to think that he felt an instant connection to a man that he had a ten minute conversation with, but there had definitely been something about Zach that made him want to get to know him more. Too bad he had second-guessed himself at the time and didn't have the nerve to give himself the opportunity to see him again. Maybe he should try being a little more bold the next time he felt such a connection or attraction to someone.
But the closer the guy got, the more he really did look like Zach. And he really couldn't tell if it was because he really was thinking of him so much just now and his mind was continuing to play tricks, or if it really was him in this city park. So he just watched as the man approached, a light smile playing at the corner of his lips as he was soon sure that this was indeed the man he met at the bookstore a few weeks ago. And he remembered him as well, causing his smile to grow.
"Zach.. hello. How, uh.. how nice to see you again. What a coincidence to run into you here," he added with a chuckle.

A jog with Zhenya sounded amazing. Gabby was all for that. "I'd say now, but you just went on one." Plus they were catching up. Not that they never saw each other, but it was nice to keep up, both when it came to their lives and when it came to the babies. "I'm still doing yoga too though nothing too extreme. That's what I did when I was pregnant with Valeria and I stopped when I was further along." Obviously. Not like she would be trying that stuff while eight months pregnant. By then her back had hurt too much anyway and her bladder felt like it was the size of a pea. Anyway... "I agree that exercise is something that makes you feel better." Not that she was a person prone to stress... but then neither was Zhenya. She laughed with her niece. "Yep, I'm growing his baby and the least he can do is feed me. He really is doing an amazing job. I couldn't ask for a better husband and father of my children." And she wouldn't want to because she only wanted Archer.
Gabby nodded. She knew how observing the pregnancy and delivering Valeria had helped Zhenya realize that she wanted to work in maternity. "Well, you get to do it again in January when this one comes." Then Valeria would have a little sister. There she was getting into midwife mode again but it was okay. From family it was fine though from someone else she would have told them to mind their business. Zhenya was different and she was also her midwife. "I'm eating a lot of sweets but also good food as well, I'm limiting my caffeine greatly, I still get in exercise, and I wear flats." So yep. She was being a good patient. "Archer is amazing. He cooks, helps around the house, gives me massages and foot rubs." Other things as well. "I don't mind the questions." Zhenya would probably want to know more, and ask about Valeria as well.

How long had Ansley been looking at him? Zach wasn't sure. Being taken so highly taken aback at seeing the man there had certainly messed with him. Zach blinked again. Damn... his heart was still thudding. Could Ansley hear it?
Don't be stupid, Zach, that voice said with almost what sounded like a sneer. You know that you don't need to be his friend or anything. Come on, let's go.
Ignoring his conscience was not something he was used to doing except when Ansley was involved. "I- It's v-very nice to see you again too.'' He meant it, really meant it. After weeks of just thinking about him, Zach was on cloud nine. Yet he was cautious despite accidentally stressing on the word 'very' just now. He did like Ansley a lot though they hardly knew each other. "It's a pleasant co-coincidence in my o-opinion.''
Zach's eyes moved back to the drawing. "Like I said before, you're ta-talented.'' He smiled then raised his eyes back to that handsome face. "I can't draw to save my life. I've gotten by using stick figures.'' Alright, his stammering was easing and his heart beats were returning to normal.

Not that she was a person prone to stress... but then neither was Zhenya.
Zhenya smiled "Well there's always this evening. It's been nice outside, just after dinner. If you wanted, we could do that?" She was always up for a night-time jog as well. But she didn't want to spoil their current catch up. "Yoga, that sounds great," Zhenya said. She had never really tried it but she DID know Gabby was a bit of a yogi. "Does it help with the earlier pregnancy?" She was curious. It would be something she could add to her assessments in her new job. Zhenya was really happy to see Gabby and Archer together. They just complimented each other perfectly. "He would do anything for you. Anyone can see it just in the way he looks at you," she commented. She was so happy to see her uncle settle down, especially with someone who enjoyed the same lifestyle.
Zhenya beamed, as happy as anything. "I'm so glad I get to help you again!" Zhenya gave a firm nod of approval, everything was running smoothly it seemed, and Gabby was taking care of herself and the growing baby. "Well good, he's doing a good job of expecting father. Again," she laughed. She was relieved Gabby didn't mind answering the questions. Zhenya could always use today as one of their examination days, and skip the next one if needed, to give Gabby a break from all the Healer talk.
"How's Aoife? I haven't seen her since the other week."

"How's Aoife? I haven't seen her since the other week."
Evening sounded like a plan to Gabby. Archer would be fine with staying with Valeria unless they wanted to all go together. She would see with him about that later though he was the active sort like her so he would probably say yes. They would just need to take the stroller with them. "It's sorted then! Archer and Valeria might be joining us. Even if she's asleep I don't think it would wake her." Not unless they walked somewhere really bumpy which they probably wouldn't. "Well, it helps with mobility and keeping myself active. I really like doing it in general so it's something I try to keep up with for as long as I am able to. Since I have that nausea potion for that time, I have no problems." Otherwise there was no way it could happen because the sickness was BAD. Really bad. "He would. He's told me that." Even if he hadn't she would have known. "I'd do anything for him too." Zhenya probably didn't want to hear all about the feelings and it was obvious how much she loved him.
"Of course. You did a good job and are continuing to do so." That's why she was still midwife because despite being family, Gabby would have said NO if the first time had been a failure. They would be finding someone else. It didn't matter though because her niece was very good at it. "He is doing absolutely amazing. He is incredibly excited about this and caters to my every need." He was also great with their daughter. "Aoife is doing well. Valeria keeps her busy during the day but she's always in a good mood. I think she loves living in the house and looking after Valeria when we are at work." If only they could get rid of that stupid house elf. What HAD Sebs been thinking. She resisted the urge to roll her eyes.
"Would you mind if I sit with you for a moment?''
Zachary Parker, how daft are you exactly?
Ansley tilted his head slightly as he looked up at Zach from his seat on the park bench. He gave him a slightly bemused smile at his words. It sounded like he was really happy to see him, but perhaps it was more the surprise of the coincidence. He knew he shouldn't read too much into things again, but of course that was what disappointed him last time. Maybe he should think about it the way he'd like and take a little bit of a risk. What was there really to lose? And then he might know for sure.
"Yes, I think so too," he agreed to the pleasant coincidence remark, his face settling into a genuine smile. It was a rather nice coincidence if he'd say so himself, and he was rather pleased to have a second chance at seeing if there could be a connection. But he would see how it went.
"Oh.." Ansley glanced down at his sketchbook and smiled. "Well, thanks," he said, looking back up. "They're just sketches really. I was thinking about some inspiration for painting maybe." Something a little more experimental maybe, but he didn't really know yet. He looked up and chuckled. "Oh, I think everyone can draw with some practice." Just like anything else, art sometimes took a little ambition and a lot of practice. Perhaps he could give him some pointers sometime.
He smiled and gestured to the empty space on the bench next to him. "Sure, join me. Do you visit this park often?" It would be quite the coincidence, especially seeing that Ansley lived so close by.

Was he talking too much? Yeah, you are. Zach ignored his conscience. So what if he was talking a lot? So what if he was so happy to see the man he had been thinking about over the past few weeks that he couldn't stop smiling? The only things stopping him from admitting out loud that he was interested in knowing Ansley more were his shyness and the fact that he'd had a really bad relationship a few months previously.
Zach thought he actually felt his heart skip a beat when Ansley agreed with his statement. He could practically feel that vibe now as he had at the bookstore that the other man was interested in him. Half of him wished Ansley would admit it but the more cautious part of himself did not. "This is a great place for inspiration. I think you're right to start at the pond.'' Practice? That gave Zach an idea and it popped right out of his mouth before he realised it. "You could teach me.''
Unable to believe what he had just said because it meant more time with Ansley, Zach just collapsed onto the bench beside him. "Th- thanks. Uh, n-no.'' Just great. His stupid stutter was back. "I used t-to come h-here with my a-aunt and cousins when I vi-visited Britain. I-it's been y-years since I-I've been here. I fi-finished my work early today s-so I thought that a w-walk would be a g-good way to end th-the day.'' Plus he was talking a lot again.

Ansley smiled lightly and nodded as Zach mentioned appreciating the park for its inspirational value as well, even if he was not an artist himself. "My thoughts exactly. I think nature in general is great for creative inspiration. I come here sometimes to relax and get into a creative mindset." Oh? Ansley turned to look at Zach. "Oh, are you interested? Sure, I wouldn't mind taking another student under my wing," he chuckled, joking a bit, but he really wouldn't mind having a private tutoring session with Zach.
Hmm. Ansley noticed that sometimes Zach stuttered, but it seemed to come and go. Of course, he didn't know him all that well, but he couldn't help but wonder why it was only sometimes. "This is a great park to walk through," he nodded. "And yes, a great way to end the day. The weather is still pretty nice for it. I wrapped up work a little early so I thought I'd stop by before I went home. I don't live too far from here.." Oh, work? He thought he remembered Zach saying something about looking for some work with a newspaper or something like that. "So your job search was successful?"

"You and I have that in common,'' Zach answered. "We're both fans of nature.'' He somewhat felt the need to point out that. Well, it was a stupid thing to do and say, the voice said. As if he'll agr- The voice cut short abruptly since Ansley was in agreement. Maybe it was that and the fact that he was so pleased that the other man had agreed with him that made him suggest the art lessons. Zach nodded. He didn't really expect Ansley to accept. Yet he had. You're supposed to be staying away from him not wanting to spend more time together! Yep, because that was actually the reason why Zach wanted the lessons- to spend more time with Ansley. Quite personally, he wouldn't mind being in his arms under his wing.
"Th-thank you. W-when can we g-get started?'' Oh yes, Zach was interested in art but he was ore interested in something... or someone else. His gaze moved across Ansley's face, admiring his looks but then he force himself to look casual and to keep from stuttering. "I a-actually forgot where it was. It took me a while to find my way. Glad I-I did.'' So he lived close by? Now that he knew this, Zach would probably find himself visiting this park a lot. "Very convenient. You must come her often then.'' He nodded. "The day after I first met you. I got a call from one of the muggle magazines I had applied to.'' Maybe Ansley had been a lucky charm.

"Yes, I suppose that you could say that I'm a fan of nature," Ansley said after giving it a moment's thought. He never really thought about classifying himself as such, but he knew with his conservative ideals and his inspiration from nature it was very likely true. "Oh, well, I suppose that depends when you're free," he said with a smile. "A weekend or and evening during the week? Now that I don't teach at Hogwarts anymore, I'm home a little more often." And he didn't mind that a bit. Sure, he liked his students, but it was a lot to help care for them the majority of the year.
Oh, had he gotten lost? Ansley nodded lightly as Zach talked about coming here. "I actually haven't been in here in a little while, to be honest. I used to come here quite a bit though.." Working most of the year in another region left him little time for such leisure. "But I'm meaning to come here more now that I'm local again.. I guess you don't live close by then?" Just curious.
"Well, that's great," he grinned as Zach mentioned the new job. "Congratulations. I hope you celebrated when you got the good news." It really was cause for such a thing.

Zach was quite tempted to say that he was down for these art lessons every evenings but again, his shyness held him back. Thank goodness for that thing call shyness."U-um, I'm usually done with work at 5 everyday. So-sometimes I do work at home in the evenings but that's only because of the lack of anything better to do.'' He didn't really have a social life as he had never felt the need for one. "So long as I'm not occupying too much of your time.'' He offered a smile. "Th- thank you for agreeing to the lessons.''
Another thing he and Ansley had in common. Zach had no idea why he was keeping a tab on what they had in common, to be honest. "I suppose you got too busy to spend time here after a while.'' He shook his head. "I am looking for somewhere closer because of work. Not much luck so far but I'm adjusting.'' Lucky Ansley for living close by to this nice park. Now if he too could be that lucky.
"Thanks! But no, I didn't.'' Zack looked sheepishly over at Ansley. "I'm not much of the party kind of guy unless you count making yourself mac and cheese dinner and reading a book or listening to music.'' He liked music a lot.

The thought of going with a jog, or even just a nice stroll, this evening with Gabby, Archer and Valeria made her smile. "Aww that would be wonderful! I'd love to see her again, even if it's just when she's asleep." Zhenya loved the little 'Leria to pieces, always wanting a cuddle and smile when she could. "Would you show me some yoga sometime?" Zhenya asked. She'd been meaning to ask Gabby for ages, but it never came up. Some of her friends did yoga to stretch after running, and whilst Zhenya had always thought about doing it, she just never had. "It's good it helps, though. I've brewed another huge batch of it, it should last another 12 months, so I can bring that over tonight if you want." Zhenya wasn't sure how much of the potion Gabby had been through. It was almost her specialty potion, at this stage, so she had lost count of the batches she'd passed on to Gabby. Zhenya just grinned at Gabby's words. Her long lost romance when she was 15 was all she had ever had. Besides that one kiss from her colleague and that random drink with that other guy, who was quite rude. She just wasn't interested at the moment. And besides, with the babies, and Sophia getting married, and needing to find a new place, she just didn't have time to think about it.
Zhenya was proud of herself, especially at Gabby's words. She knew that a compliment like that from Gabby was very meaningful. "It's amazing to watch the two of you." Zhenya's voice dropped lower, and she felt herself blush slightly. "I just never.. well, I never really saw my parents like that. And the last time I saw two people madly in love was my grandparents." It was nice to see that that sort of love was out there.
