He sighed and shrugged. "I dunno. I mean, I was a bit I guess. Aurora is just so...loud," That was a nice way of putting it, he supposed. Youngest sibling syndrome and all that..."Eventually, I figured that there had to be something deep down that was deserving of that chance. Something that book saw in her that she keeps hidden, for some reason," he admitted. "And as for her picking Chad over me, I wasn't too surprised. We were never close, even though I'm just two years older," he explained.
Not that he was close with ANY of his siblings, to be true. They were just sort of...there. Nice and all, but if he had been in her situation, he truly had no idea who would have been in that cage.
Hmm. Maybe that was why he hadn't been picked.
"Why do you ask?" he asked. "Because I have to say, if you're just making conservation, you have an odd idea of small talk," he chuckled. Louise smiled, amused. "Guess that's one thing Brits and Americans have got in common. Stubbornness." Tact, her? No; she was a Thunderbird, did he forget? She favored adventure, which sometimes meant that she didn't always use her head. "I'm sorry," she shook her head. "That book, yes, it was interesting...Kind of wonder how exactly it worked, in terms of sensing our presence and desires and skills? Like did it work on Divination principles?" Divination was not her strong point, that was for certain.
Louise merely shrugged. Truth be told, she was just making conversation, but she also wasn't about to admit that, so she quickly quipped a white lie instead. "I was curious. I mean, you're older, you'd already completed your JARVEYs. It just, maybe from an academic standpoint, might have made sense to choose you. But I guess, the book needed a female rep from Horned Serpent?" Actually, that probably sense. Kyle Baker had won the championship, thus proving his spot as the male representative from the Chae's house.

Divination was a load of hogwash - anyone with half a brain could see that. Maybe the book knew of his distain for the subject, and that was that. It was a bit odd to him that the Thunderbird was being so...analytical (that was HIS job, after all, being the Horned Serpent) but it was funny to see her try and figure out why Aurora had gotten picked over him. "Eh, who knows. Didn't end up going to uni anyways, so I guess it doesn't really matter," he said with a shrug. She knew where he was coming from with that, right? "So, what made you decide to apply for the Prophet?" he asked. He had never pegged her as a writer type. Then again, he had never shared his stories with anyone either, so she was probably thinking the same thing.

For someone who hadn't seemed very talkative at all during their years at school, Louise wasn't about to deny that Andrew Chae was funny. Then again, the quiet ones usually were; it was like, they internalized everything, ready to spring random tidbits of facts and old stories on you that you just HAD to laugh with. "Please, I was utterly a clueless dimwit when it came to Divination interpretation," Of course she hadn't made it past the third challenge which required that subject's knowledge, so perhaps he was onto something. He WAS a Horned Serpent, after all. "Yea, it wasn't about the university for me either, to be honest." Considering she hadn't even applied anyplace. "I just, when I was traveling after the Summer and meeting all kinds of people, seeing things, it made me realize that I didn't want my travel adventures to end. But alas, one needs money and I saw the advertisement. I was in a city in France at the time, but I thought, with writing, I keep traveling through my words." So no, she was not the writer type. She was the traveling, doing type.

She was the traveling, doing type. "Apparently you were supposed to use Divination during that one event. With the wind or something. That's what the announcers said at least," Drew told her with a shrug. Aurora hadn't gotten it either, and she was the one who gave the subject a SMIDGE more credit. "That was awful. I'm sorry you guys had to do that," he added with a frown. The last challenge hadn't even seemed nearly as tough as that tundra one - which was odd, as you'd like the last one would be the hardest. Maybe they had dialed it back after the student backlash? Most of them had been MADDDDDD. "Profound," he chuckled. That made sense. Writing was a way of escaping - or reliving past memories. It was helpful in so many ways. "I never thought my writing would be good enough to get in, honestly. I'm excited though. It'll help me hone my craft, I think," he said with a nod. "Are you going to be traveling for assignments? Like a field reporter?" he asked. He sort of hoped not - because being a sports reporter would sound SOOOO boring compared to that!
