Eva was excited! Not having been in London long... and still a bit disoriented from the culture shock, she was glad to have stumbled across the Gobstones Park. Yasss!! Glancing about a few times, she noticed an empty seat... next to a MAN. Yowza!
Making her way over she sat primly on the bench next to the man. And immediately she regretted it when she noticed that tick... that tapping of the fingers... That was terrible and annoying. "Excuse me, sir. Do you mind if I sit?" Belted manners were still manners, yes?
As he sat there, from the corner of his eye he saw a woman approach him. He raised an eyebrow as she chose to sit next to him over another bench not far from there that was completely empty. He sat straighter and stopped the tapping which he knew was annoying to most people. Just a terrible, terrible habit of his.
"Sure, please be my guest" he gestured to the empty seat and a polite smile. She looked interesting. "Gallowglass Pinkerton" he introduced himself, stretching his hand for her to shake.

Gallowglass nearly jumped in his sit when she spoke. And this woman spoke loudly. Or at least louder than he was expecting given there wasn't much noise around them and all. She shook his hand and her tinny delicate hand was nearly swallowed by his.
"Yes I like gobstones, though I came here to watch only" he grinned and winked cheekly at her, looking forward to some of the games than back at her "You? Here to play or watch Eva?" he asked, letting her name roll of his tongue with a smirk. Eva. That's a nice name right?

Was Dexter Fernandes a fan of Gobstones? No, he was definitely not. Indeed he did like the sport but he preferred Quidditch. While attending Castelobruxo, he had been a member of the School's team. What he was here for, actually, was the grass and topiary maze. Dex was an avid Herbologist and loved them to the moon and back.
After his died a month back, him and his mom had moved back here, to her birth country to live. She claimed that she couldn't stay over in Rio where she had met her husband. Dex was still adjusting to Britain. He missed his friends, his job, his life in general. Most of all, he missed his dad. They had been close. Dex was not one to show his pain on the outside but his mom had sensed it. It was she who suggested he came out to the park as a distraction.
Dex located the maze eventually without getting lost. His eyes lit up immediately when he saw the artistic and careful work that had been done. "Such talent,'' he muttered to himself. He reached into his jeans pocket to pull out a small notepad and pencil that he always carried around with him.
He would get started on some sketching before he examined the topiaries closer.
Puck Greyvson was absolutely and utterly distracted as she wandered through the Belby Gobstones Park. It wasn’t like that was a problem for the now third year university student…it had been three years hadn’t it? She wasn’t even keep tabs on how many years she had been studying at the London Campus as the recent change in her major would tacked on a few more years…charms, they were dreadful sometimes but potions, that was what she would have loved to be studying. Today was a great day for her, so easy to wander with her nose in one of her books.
Which was exactly what she was doing when she felt herself crash into something only slightly prickly. “Oh merlin,” she grumbled to herself as she picked herself out of the topiary only to spot that she was standing right in front of the man with the notepad. “Talent? Do you me walking into the topiary or the design…because really if it were me that isn’t talent at all…” it was a shame really. She sent the man a small smile as she began picking the leaves off of her shirt not knowing that there were still quite a few stuck in her hair.

This was one of those times but it didn’t prevent him from noticing the pretty young woman heading directly for one of the bushes. “Look out, miss!’’ he called, that Brazilian accent heavy in his voice. Too late his warning! Dex watch the woman tumble into the bush.
Ouch.
He rushed over to her. “Are you alright?’’ A grin spread across his face now that he established that she was. He laughed softly at her words. “I’m sorry,’’ he apologised. “I don’t mean to be rude but that was rather hilarious.’’ He laughed again, the first time he had laughed in a month and honestly, it felt good. “Tell me, is it your habit to not watch where you’re going?’’
She was rather nice looking and his first impression was that she might be a klutz. “You have some leaves in your hair.’’ Would it be considered weird if he just plucked it out for her? Dex wasn’t sure so he held back.

Puck hadn’t been expecting anyone to rush over to offer her help but still the fact that he had immediately begun laughing only caused the university student to glare at him for a moment. The glare didn’t last, she couldn’t help but notice the mirth and happiness in his eyes…and he had apologized for laughing. “No no no its alright” she laughed herself and grinned at him. “Oh…gosh no that was rather hilarious wasn’t it?“ She grinned up at her would be savior (had she heard his warning) and shook her head at his question. ”Oh…no, not really…just…didn’t want to read in my loft again?” she admitted with a grin.
”I’m usually quite adept at staying on my feet” she admitted with a grin. Leaves? In her hair…she reached up and plucked a couple of the many leaves from her hair leaving quite a few behind. ”Did I get them?” she asked with a grin, ”I could be starting a trend…the I look like I did my hair in a wind-tunnel trend…I don’t think it’s been done before” she grinned at him before opening her mouth to speak again. ”I’m Puck by the way…and no its not a nickname and its also not hockey related…its…Shakespeare” she admitted with a slight impish grin.

"Being outside is better.'' Dex didn't like being cooped up. He loved to breathe in fresh air and feel the sunshine on his skin. "You must have been distracted then. No, you didn't. There's still some leaves stuck there.'' Dex indicated to the right side of her head. "Is it okay if I get them out for you?'' Permission first because his parents had raise him a gentleman. Then she had him laughing again. "A new fashion trend. I could this being a hit with the tree huggers. Except they might not use real leaves and stuff.''
"From A Mid Summer's Night dream? That's neat. I'm Dexter Fernandes. Everyone calls me Dex though.'' His accent would tell Puck that he was not from around here.

Hunk of manmeat…nope no she was not going to ogle his face that wasn’t polite to do when she was standing there next to him facing him even. ”Oh there are?” she asked as she moved her hand over to her hair unable to feel the leaves herself she just shrugged, ”be my guest?....de-leaf my hair like a monkey at the zoo…” she grinned really, he was easy to make laugh and that was nice.
”Oh well, they’d just wait for the leaves and twigs to fall down so…only fall colors then?” she beamed up at him and grinned at the fact that he got that her name was from A Mid Summer’s Night Dream. ”Yep that’s the one…Dexter Fernandes?” her lip twitched slightly as she grinned at him ”you weren’t named after Dexter Morgan were you?’ She asked a slight grin on her face. ”oh…and since we’re giving surnames…Mine’s…Greyvson kind sounds odd I know like some hippy going ‘grave’-‘son’” she shrugged her shoulder and grinned at him, and yes she had even impersonated the typical deadbeat hippy voice.

Dexter liked Puck already. He suspected it was because she had such a great sense of humour and also because she made him laugh. A few of his friends had tried back when he was in Brazil but had failed miserably yet here this young woman succeeding. His eyes kept wanting to linger on her lips but how crazy would that be? Darn, that red lipstick she was wearing was eye catching.
Then he was laughing again. "Aren't you quite the comic?'' he asked rhetorically. "I shall de-leaf you, my lady.'' Cue his accent coming out very much noticeably again as he put on his most royal- like voice.. Dex took a step closer to Puck (what was that delicious scent of perfume she was wearing?) then raised his hand to carefully lift the leaves out. Twice more tries and he was done. "All de-leafed. "My mother is a huge fan of Shakespeare so that's how I knew about it. That's quite a unique name and I like it.'' Dexter was puzzled then. "Who's Dexter Morgan?'' Was it someone from Britain? Never mind... he was cracking up yet again. "You're simply hilarious, Puck Greyvson. You and your impersonation. I like persons with a sense of humour.'' In other words, he liked you.

It was the truth, well, her truth, what she felt at least.

The thing was, she wasn’t wearing a scent…not really she had spilled a small amount of amortentia on herself while cleaning up the potions lab at school…still, at least she hadn’t spilled agrotentia on herself. That would have been worse. ”Fall colours would be brilliant, could go a as a wood nymph for Halloween with them in your hair even” she grinned over to him when he explained that his mother was a fan of Shakespeare.

Going all seven years was like testing fate.
Puck looked up at Dex after his compliment had registered…she was pretty, he thought she was pretty, well that was really nice of him. ”Thank you Dex,” she smiled at him ”you’re not so bad yourself,…” the added pause of her trying to find something better to say didn’t make things sound any less awkward.
”Oh that sounds brilliant…I’m sure she has loads of fun with that,” she didn’t want to elaborate or let on just yet about her mother…or well, the fact that she technically had officially had ‘orphan’ status since she was almost nine years old. ”Oh that’s a shame-” Puck didn’t miss the comment about her showing it to him and grinned as at him. ”well then we will have to make a plan for that then?” she chuckled and felt her cheeks flush as she noticed that his eyes were lingering on her lips.
Was he wanting to kiss her? The thought filled her mind for a moment and clearly, she wouldn’t mind that…he well he did have a nice face and seemed to be nice himself. The other thought pulsing through her mind was the fact that she would have to tell Bianca the babe Caruso about meeting him…she’d be happy for her right? "If you want I can introduce you to the show Dexter later today even?" she offered with a grin, "if you are free that is," well...here goes. Confidence. It was a must.

Going all seven years was like testing fate.
Puck looked up at Dex after his compliment had registered…she was pretty, he thought she was pretty, well that was really nice of him. ”Thank you Dex,” she smiled at him ”you’re not so bad yourself,…” the added pause of her trying to find something better to say didn’t make things sound any less awkward.
”Oh that sounds brilliant…I’m sure she has loads of fun with that,” she didn’t want to elaborate or let on just yet about her mother…or well, the fact that she technically had officially had ‘orphan’ status since she was almost nine years old. ”Oh that’s a shame-” Puck didn’t miss the comment about her showing it to him and grinned as at him. ”well then we will have to make a plan for that then?” she chuckled and felt her cheeks flush as she noticed that his eyes were lingering on her lips.
Was he wanting to kiss her? The thought filled her mind for a moment and clearly, she wouldn’t mind that…he well he did have a nice face and seemed to be nice himself. The other thought pulsing through her mind was the fact that she would have to tell Bianca the babe Caruso about meeting him…she’d be happy for her right? "If you want I can introduce you to the show Dexter later today even?" she offered with a grin, "if you are free that is," well...here goes. Confidence. It was a must.
Dexter tilted his head. "Was Hogwarts a grim place?'' That was the very first impression he got so he was just querying it. "Maybe you don't think of yourself as funny but you have your first fan.'' Was he flirting in his own way? Maybe he was. Plus Puck must have already gotten her own friends and family as her fan club.
''Seja bem-vindo,you're welcome.'' Oh? Another tiny smirk played his lips. "Thanks.'' He didn't think much on his looks. In his opinion, his ears were too big. But if Puck thought he wasn't that bad looking, he'd forget about his ears. Dex was also sure that by this time, Puck would notice his eyes ever so often trailing to her lips. It was the redness. The red lipstick was holding his attention. That and the nice shape of her lips. He tore his eyes away to meet her own, only noticing then that he was making her blush. He hadn't meant to. "Sure. Have you got them on DVDs?''
"Today?" Dexter's thoughts zoomed to the things he had to do today. Nothing of importance. He had planned on spending his time alone, anyway, but Puck was better company. So he nodded with a happy smile. "I would love that so long as I don't distract you from your plans.''
Puck’s lips twitched into a smirk as Dexter asked about Hogwarts. “Well…I did see get attacked by and eaten by acromantulas?” she shuddered slightly as the memories flooded her. Puck grinned over to Dexter as he commented on her sense of humor. ”oh thank you Dexter, really…its so sweet of you to say that” she grinned over to him.
Puck grinned when she heard him speaking another language, sure, she didn’t really speak it herself but that was such a skill. ”Your welcome…so, um are you new to London?” she asked with a small smile. ”Oh…yes I do have them on DVD myself,” she grinned at him.
”Well…um, if you want to?” she paused her cheeks flushing as he asked if she didn’t have plans for the rest of the day. ”um…no, I don’t mind the distraction quite at all” she smiled over to him.

"At any rate, I'm glad you survived the acromantulas.'' He would have liked to know more but didn't press for details. For all he know it may have been a too traumatic thing for Puck. He grinned. "I speak nothing but the truth.''
"Recently moved back with my mother from Brasil,'' Dexter answered vaguely, not waning to get into the details. That and because he hated dumping his problems on others. Dex smirked. He wasn't going to beat around the bush to let Puck know he was interested in her. "Today is quite fine with me. Now if perfect as a matter of fact.'' The young man was interested in both her and this show. Mostly her.

It had been awhile since Josephina had properly watched a Gobstones match and even longer since she refereed one, which is why it seemed like the perfect place to be meeting one of her former prefects. Ordinarily the forty-something woman wasn't one for kindling relationships with her students, but as she was no longer a professor, nor was the person no longer a student, when he owled her to see how things were, she hadn't been able to resist the opportunity to meet up.
Taking a seat on the bench, the brunette pressed her lips together, glancing around a moment before deciding he wasn't here yet. Thankfully she'd brought along a book to read, just in case he flaked out on her. Which was exactly what she proceeded to do, pulling out a book from her small enchanted bag, and propped it open on her lap.

No sooner had she begun the chapter she'd been currently working on, then she heard her name. Well not her name, but her title. Her former title, one that would have only been used by her former students, which meant - he did not flake out on her.
Closing the book, she glanced up to see the grinning former prefect of hers, feeling both comfortable and anxious still about this meeting. "Mister Rehman," she said by polite greeting. "Likewise. Although I do admit I've seen your name in the magazine a few times in mention of your association with Gobstones. You feel up for a little match?" For the first time too, because she was pretty sure none of students would have realized that she knew how to play, not just advise the strategic game.

Hadley's use of 'Mister Rehman' was enough to leave him very discombobulated. No one ever called him that anymore and truth be told, the title was always formal too him and he preferred casual. But then again, this was once his Professor and just like that particular title stuck with him, 'Mister' obviously stuck with her too.
"Professor, do you think it would be weird if I asked you to call me Adi? Or even Aditya?'' he asked curiously. The guy broke into another grin. "I'd like that a lot!'' He had never played against her and was up for the challenge. "It's thanks to you and Mr Kittridge's encouragement that led me to work so much at bettering myself at Gobstones. I'm glad I was recruited in my seventh year.'' It was as though it were only yesterday. "Shall we get started on that game?''

Drew was wandering around London, trying to find inspiration - and where better to find inspiration than at the Gobstones park? Drew needed to learn all he could about this strange British sports. Ok, they weren't STRANGE, but they were a lot less common in America. It was like the No-Maj and their obsession with cricket and rugby.
Therefore, Gobstones was all new to him - and he wanted to observe as much of it as he could. Maybe he'd write an article about it someday...

It still felt surreal to Louise to have taken up "permanent" residence on this side of the pond. The lingo, the sports, the food - oh what would she give for some Southern grits? Even though she spent ten months here, it wasn't quite the same, because she was on Hogwarts premises, with many fellow Americans around.
As opposed to only one.

Another idea was forming - an short story about a professional Gobstones player. Hmmm. That might be a fun character...

Still weird trying to adapt to British lingo. Muggle sounds so...weird, doesn't roll off the tongue," he chuckled.
He moved over a bit as an invitation to let her sit down. "It's odd. Never thought I'd be working in England at the Prophet with you. No offense or anything," he added quickly, smiling to let her know that he really didn't mean anything bad by it. "It's just we never...talked or anything. Not that I talked to many people," he admitted with a shrug.

"I don't think we have to adapt to all the lingo," Louise mused. "Perhaps introducing no-maj onto this side of the pond might not be so bad." You know, considering they weren't the solo Americans here.

Somehow I didn't particularly care for attending University, free scholarship or not," He would know what was meant by that, as he knew of the competition prize, given his sister and all. "I just... i crave seeing new things, learning on the go." What? She was a true Thunderbird and nothing could ever stop that wanderlust. "Journalism is great for me." Staring reflectively out at the players, she sighed, before turning to Andrew. "Can I ask you something? How'd you feel? About Aurora being chosen over you? And then like, Aurora choosing your other brother as more significant than you?" She had two siblings and so she was sure Theodore felt hurt, but in time he'd understand, it was nothing personal, just ... nothing beat that sisterly love.

"Doubt it'll catch on. These Brits are stubborn," Drew replied with a grin. His grin vanished, however, when she started talking about the competition, and out of the blue - asked him how he felt about it. About ALLLL of it. He wasn't upset, but he did raise an eyebrow before letting out a laugh. "You haven't heard of tact have you?" he asked.
He sighed and shrugged. "I dunno. I mean, I was a bit I guess. Aurora is just so...loud," That was a nice way of putting it, he supposed. Youngest sibling syndrome and all that..."Eventually, I figured that there had to be something deep down that was deserving of that chance. Something that book saw in her that she keeps hidden, for some reason," he admitted. "And as for her picking Chad over me, I wasn't too surprised. We were never close, even though I'm just two years older," he explained.
Not that he was close with ANY of his siblings, to be true. They were just sort of...there. Nice and all, but if he had been in her situation, he truly had no idea who would have been in that cage.
Hmm. Maybe that was why he hadn't been picked.
"Why do you ask?" he asked. "Because I have to say, if you're just making conservation, you have an odd idea of small talk," he chuckled.
