Check in with Security first. For this event, Magical Law Enforcement agents are on alert and have been charged with the safety of Borr and his special guests. Depending on your status, you may or may not be permitted to approach Lord Borr and the important people of the Ministry. Everyone is subject to be searched. Also, the Security employees are responsible for handing out all the free t-shirts for this event. Ask them about YOUR free tee while checking in.
Each t-shirt is charmed to literally be one size fits all. When you put it on, you'll find it will shrink or stretch to fit you.
As you go through the checkpoint, in front of the tent's entry, which looks somewhat like a muggle metal detector, though it is really an oversized dark detector (somewhere between sneakoscope and probity probe. Don't ask about the new technology, its classified), you may be asked to step to one side and undergo a more thorough check. If you pass, you'll be sent on your way into the party with a t-shirt.
Aren't you lucky?
ooc: This Security checkpoint will be manned by the following members:
PattyH- Prometheus Hudson RobinBoyWonder - Benjamin Amsten SilverTiger- Dorian Tamerlane TSnitch- Antoni Dacosta Tegz - Evander Bole, Dept Head
You don't HAVE to RP passing through here but everyone will have come through this way at some point. Don't forget Hogwarts students are ONLY allowed if they were specially invited. Posts will be deleted if a non-invited Hogwarts student arrives as there will have been no possible way of them getting here.

Benjamin wrote down the man's name before handing Charles his free T-Shirt. "Enjoy yourself!"
"Thank you," he said taking the t-shirt and doing his best to hide the look of disgust on his face. He had become accustomed to working undercover, but, when something really REALLY bothered him, it was hard to keep a straight face.
With that, he walked through the scanner and joined the rest of the guests.

Miss Erica Radley did not need a security check. She glanced over at Armen at first, raising an eyebrow as to how loyally he was behaving today compared to when she spoke to him a few weeks back. The Blonde approached the security check area, scrubching her nose as she walked on over.
"Erica Radley. Head of the Magical Creatures Department. As my fellow Head here has explained, I too am a guest here of Lord Borr's and we have important matters to get to." Maybe. Let's just say she was too important to be serving or handing out T-shirts, or doing whatever else the other departments were doing.
"Oh and I would like one of those T-shirts." That was all.
I'll bring Dorian in, in a bit, to help man the check-in *nods* But shoppie first.

Aliceara couldn't exactly tell why there was suddenly a party occurring in the middle of Diagon Alley, or what exactly was causing the interruption to what was becoming her usual pattern of working idly in her shop while waiting for the next customer. It had seemed to be another lull, which she'd both looked at as an excuse to catch up on things and as something that was boring her to no end. She'd actually taken a quick photo shoot on in the meantime, when she hadn't created several new racks of robes as a way to pass time. Things were going on, but it seemed her shop wouldn't be too well-populated while this event was going on, so she'd merely locked her main shop door and headed out.
Parties were her thing, or they had been in her previous occupation, and even though she'd been a bit on edge with the rumors of what had been going on around her, she wasn't about to not go. Just as she wasn't about to not attend while exquisitely dressed. Her hair wasn't anything special, as it was her usual tousled, wavy fall of brown silk, but it set off the rest of the outfit nicely. Until she got to the check-in, and raised a delicate eyebrow at mention of t-shirts. That wouldn't go with her dress at all, but she'd take one anyway. Maybe it was like a memento or something. All the best parties had those, even if she hadn't been to one in ages. Smiling at the first security person she came to, she spoke. "Aliceara Ravenswood. Shopkeeper at Madame Malkin's," she informed them in her friendliest voice. Just because she wasn't sure of things didn't mean she needed to transmit that to the people who were so graciously working.

The entire event was almost offensively over the top. It didn't help that there were going to be children present. Hoshino's gaze fleeted at what he suspected to be students from the nearest Wizarding school, Hogwarts. The children weren't much of a horrifying sight if one put things into perspective. For example, they could have always been a bit more difficult to look at. In that aspect the t-shirts that Borr's supporters were wearing were infinitely more offensive and vulgar than, say, the face of the closest female teenage snot.
Ian expelled a breath as he pinched the bridge of his nose for a moment. "I expect you to be your most charming today," murmured the man, glancing down at the woman by his side. He offered her a raised brow in interrogation, waiting for her response.

Not only did teenagers managed to make the brunette feel like an adolescent herself, all over again, but their sometimes scandalous and inappropiate behaviour amused her.

Ooh, a couple. Ben prepared two horrible T-Shirts for the both of them, and had his clipboard ready. But when the woman spoke, The Detective was confused for a moment. Duh. The woman is speaking for the man...
Oooh, the Daily Prophet Editor, very cool."Of course, Mr. Hoshino." Ben said to the man, writing his name on the list. "I'll need your name, Ma'am. And ID.

Oooh, the Daily Prophet Editor, very cool."Of course, Mr. Hoshino." Ben said to the man, writing his name on the list. "I'll need your name, Ma'am. And ID.
Emmanuelle, of course, was being her typical self. He knew she hard heard him so did not bother in repeating himself. Hoshino patted the hand that rested on the crook of his elbow awkwardly. The fiancé bit was a little unnecessary if anyone inquired Ian's opinion about the matter; however, as that was something that was highly unlikely to happen, the journalist tried letting go of the small surge of embarrassment overtaking his tall and imposing person.
It succeeded for the most part but the tips of his ears remained a subdued hue of pink.
"Emanuelle Leroy," supplied Ian, stooping closer to the man hoping his voice to carry over the chattering nearby. His eyes honed in on the t-shirts they were being extended. He took them reluctantly, a brow finding its place high above his forehead. "I apologize. We should have had identification at the ready. I was unaware there would be so much security. Usually, I just present my press pass," he murmured and glanced over at Emmy, wondering if she had found her card inside her purse already. He was doing his best to stall and make chit chat--something that he was horrible at.
Honestly, this is why he just flashed his press pass during events and kept walking. Speaking to complete strangers was permanently awkward and far too energy intensive for his liking.

Identification? Did she resemble a mass murder or a danger to society in general? Dramatic as she knew she was being, Emmanuelle kept the annoyance away from her small face. Although, her grip on Ian's arm did tighten a fraction.
Pulling out her identification from her small, round pouch, the woman showed it to the man before them. "Will that be all, sir?" She inquired, and tried to keep a sneer off her mouth at the sight of the t-shirts. She very nearly succeeded.

Iris made her way through all the people with the rest of the Hogwarts students. There were so many adults! Iris didn't like this... it was weird. She much preferred being with people her own age - or more, people who're younger than her.
Smiling brightly at the security employee, Iris decided that, as a prefect, she should at least try to look like she knew why she was here wanted to be here.
"Uh... Hullo. I'm Iris Beaumont... One of the Hogwarts students."

Helena made her way to the security check in.
This party most certainly was not her idea of fun. She'd still made the effort though. Helena wondered if the Hogwarts students had already arrived. Iris had never explained why she was one of the students chosen to come today. She waited in turn for a while, until one of the security blokes were free. Walking up to one of security employees, Helena offered a half-hearted smile. "Helena Beaumont: International Cooperation." Was adding her division necessary, too? Helena wasn't entirely sure.
"And ... what is this talk about T-shirts?" Because this woman would not be wearing one of them.
Zacharias came in to Diagon Alley because he had received word that all Ministry of Magic employees are invited to the party that is hosted by the new Junior Undersecretary Lord Berty Borr.
He stepped in to the security check in wearing his nice black jacket with matching white shirt and black jeans. He thought he look casual and at the same time he doesn't know if there is a dress code or something.
He took his ID from his pocket and flashed it to the security people and it says: Zacharias David McMahon:Minister's Office

Noticing the older man tip his glasses at her, Kurumi nervously reached for the person nearest her, who just happened to be Simon. Kurumi grabbed onto his arm like a frightened child facing one of their nightmares. Realizing what she was doing, she looked up at Simon. "S-S-Sorry," she squeaked in apology, but she didn't let go of his arm.

The young man considered himself to be quite the stylish person, and the Lord Borr shirts were in no way stylish.
Laughing as he arrived at the security desk, he smiled at Dacs, Dorian and Benjamin, before turning to Bole and saying, "The things we do for the Ministry!"
Smoothing his vintage Calvin Klien Suit, and trying to cover the Borr Shirt as much as possible, he prepared himself for a long day!
'And here we going' he thought as the party-goers started to line up before him!

Reason: non invited student character would not be able to be here
Ben was tired of faking his smile.... He couldn't even enjoy the benefits of a day off. Instead, 'Name....... Id......' Blah, he'd rather use his talents to find out more about this group slowly inching their way through the Ministry.

"Oh my god just let me in"
"I will have to think about it!"
"Yes thats me..." Simon responded as he turned his head in the direction the new voice came from. A slightly raised eyebrow in curiousity since he hadn't thought that he'd be listed under his title but as the man had a comment on Patroclus it all seemed to click especially when coupled with the familiar features as the younger man in question approached as well from behind.
"Let me guess....older brother," he commented, silently thankful his own brother hadn't been assigned to work at the security check point to cause him trouble like the man was trying to do to his teammate. If his assumption was true they had that in common. "Um...thanks," the captain remarked accepting the t-shirt with no real thrill at the idea.
Gavin certainly wasn't looking forward the what was planned but directives from department heads usually weren't a good thing to ignore so the accidents and catastrophes employee was there at the security checkpoint. A sense of deja vu from the last time he'd been at a big event but at least the Quidditch World Cup had been fun...this was bound to be anything but.
"Gavin McNally, Accidents and Catatrophes department," he supplied when it was his turn at the checkpoint.
Dacs looked at the next person who seemed a little preoccupied with everything else."Name please?"she asked her politely."I need to check you off my list before I can let you in."
Jenny looked up and gave a smile. "Jenelise Knotting." She told the woman, "Department of Transportation." She added on, she hadn't been at the Ministry all that long, but she was still an employee. She turned a little and saw the long line of people lined up, waiting to get through security, a few of them looked like students. "Looks like everyone was invited, eh?" She asked, though not really expecting an answer back.

Eyeing the shirt unpleasantly, Iris glanced back at the security man. "I'll try to get something out of today though. Thank you!" Think positive thoughts, Iris! It'll only be a few hours!

"Oh, they've already arrived?" She asked, eyebrows raised lightly. "Yes... That would be my daughter." There was a proud tone as she said that. She had every reason to be proud of her daughter, and she'd let people know that very subtly.
As the man told her to enjoy, Helena laughed and replied with, "I'll try to!" Before heading into the tent.
Clad in a dark green dress especially for Lord Borr's party Clarissa arrived at the checkpoint. She had a scarf around her neck and one fastened to her handbag. The party and the appointment of Lord Borrs was so big that everyone in her department and the ministry as a whole had been given a day off to attend. The red head took her place in the queue leading to the security checkpoint. The queue moved forward in snail speed. When it was finally her turn she supplied "Clarissa Stimpson, Magical Creatures department."
Jake followed the rest of the invited Hogwarts students to the check-in, and got his invitation out of the pocket on the inside of his suit jacket. There was a Hogwarts student nearby that Jake didn't recognise, and he frowned in slight confusion. Whuuuuuuuuuut?
Anyway.
Yes.
Now to get in.

Dacs looked for the next person's name and checked it off before looking at him. "You get one from here."she remarked reaching for one and handing it to him.
Pierre smiled at the woman as she checked him in. He took the shirt that she handed him and tried not to grimace. He really didn't want to wear this, but felt he might be singled out if he didn't. He didn't want to look too out of place so he pulled the shirt over his button up shirt and watched as it shrunk to fit him. He smiled at the woman and moved on. This was not going to be a fun day.

Alexander narrowed his eyes ever so slightly as he was given the okay to pass through the checkpoint and into the party. It had almost seemed too easy to gain access, yet the men and women standing guard at the checkpoint seemed to be on top of their game. He gave the man a polite nod as he accepted the t-shirt.
"Thank you," he simply said, before taking another quick glance over his shoulder. Again, he saw no one in particular, so with his t-shirt tucked under his arm, he slid through the checkpoint and into the party.

Finding a rubbish bin to lean against he simply stood watching the people pass by, waiting for Ren or some of the others. And maybe he could find a new person or two to see things his way. :smirk:

On his way in, he paused to give two familiar faces a quick nod in greeting before making his way to the seating area.

Ramona almost rolled her eyes as she turned into the street, she'd heard about the HIDEOUS shirts and had pulled on her pumps rather than heels, this was a....upstand-y day, she walked over to the tent, Ramona Marqueen, I work in security she said, smiling somewhat fixed-ly.
She hated these days

xD I'd purposely chose to not check myself. But now, two charries in one post. ;)

Hopefully the chief robe-seller didn't find a forced dress code, an insult....[/COLOR]
Aliceara smiled at the young security man, again, as he greeted her, a bit amused by the outfit. That shirt definitely didn't go with that suit, but she imagined that shirt wouldn't really go with anything. It was a bit ridiculous. At least some people seemed to be getting through this without too much struggle, so perhaps her misgivings were unnecessary. Something still oddly reminded her of her cousin, but she knew he wouldn't be there. So things would be safe, and if they had people like this working security, even better. "Good morning to you as well," she replied, graciously taking the ridiculous shirt. "I'm sure," she added with a slight raised eyebrow as she stepped inside the tent, starting to wonder if underneath her dress would count. It would look idiotic, but at least then most of it would be covered.
Dorian hadn't exactly wanted to wear the Borr t-shirt, but if they were to blend in, it seemed it was necessary. It was against his will, which he had a feeling only his fellow MLE staff would know, since he'd figured his occlumency was back where it needed. Untested, but he felt he could block his emotions and everything about as well as possible. In either case, it seemed he'd gone with the popular idea regarding wearing the shirt, and had it on underneath a navy blue button-down shirt, long sleeves hiding the one wand he had in a holster on his forearm but buttons mostly open just so he wouldn't get hassled. His personal wand was in a holster around his calf, hidden by his black jeans, as he wasn't going to leave it at home. Being prepared for anything was the game.

"Gavin McNally, Accidents and Catatrophes department," he supplied when it was his turn at the checkpoint.
Now this was someone Dorian was fairly certain should be there. All Ministry members were recommended to attend, at least. Made him think something was going to go down, but he'd gotten essentially back into his constant vigilance state from years earlier at everything. "Gavin," he said dryly, handing him one of the t-shirts as he crossed the name off his Ministry list. "Enjoy."

Hmm, green and red, Dorian thought as the next woman came to the front of the line. Eyeing the scarves a bit subtly, he focused on her as she spoke before scanning down to the list. "Miss Stimpson," he said, more to himself as he found her name to cross off. He hadn't really seen her name before, but perhaps she'd been checked by one of the others in the Ministry. Too much paperwork. "Here's your t-shirt," he added, handing the blue article of clothing over. "Enjoy the party."

The look on the next boy's face verified Dorian's earlier consternation about non-invited Hogwarts students trying to get in, or those he thought might be. Some people just liked attending parties, but he wasn't exactly one of them. Obviously this boy had an invitation, as he'd taken it out before approaching. "Name, please," he asked, instinctively assuming he'd need the student list and grabbing a t-shirt while he was at it. May as well be prepared for once he'd been able to check him in.

The next arrival caused another dry smile to cross Dorian's face, as it seemed yet another of his fellow MLE employees would rather not be here. or perhaps it was just the knowledge of the t-shirts that put the scowl on her face. "Ramona," he said, nodding her through. "Don't forget your t-shirt . . ." And he passed another of the monstrosities over, so she could look like the rest of them while she worked the party.

The next girl who'd approached seemed oddly resigned to the matter, and Dorian watched her for a moment. "Ms. Lee," he replied. "Department?" He thought she'd worked with him on Level Two, but then somehow that would mean she'd gotten out of working the party. He knew who was, and who was working what. Either way, he picked up a t-shirt for her once she finsihed giving her information. It seemed nobody was getting away without one of these.
