If it's troubling how close this playground is to the stairs into Knockturn Alley, let the charmed boundaries put your mind at ease. This tiny oasis can be found in a grassy lot that seems as if it has always been there. Did there used to be a shop here, or was it a fountain, or... hmm?

In addition to a self-propelled swing set and monkey bars with real (not real) monkeys, there's a fantastic miniature Hogwarts for climbing and sliding and general silliness. Behind the castle, there's a miniature carousal - unicorns and dragons and kelpies and other magical creatures chase each other in a neverending circle. This is the perfect place for tired parents and caregivers to settle with rambunctious kids who are too young for school. And if they wander too far, the charm will alert their caregiver of their wandering.

From here you can go back to the North end of the Street and visit some of the shops there, including Scribbulus Ever-Changing Inks which is right next door, you can take care of your money business at Gringotts, or keep walking past this corner and see what else the middle of the street has to offer.

His mummy wasn't too fond of how close the playground was to that scary alley. But Gabe wanted to have fun at the playground because shopping bored him to death. The five-year-old kid managed to get out of going into Madame Malkin's, promising to head straight to the park and not talk to big strangers.

And that was exactly what he did.

The carousel immediately caught his attention. The monkey bars and mini-Hogwarts fort were cool and all, but there was something alluring about those magical creatures going around and around and around. He watched them for a few minutes, not sure which one he should hop on.

Unicorn ... dragon ... kelpie ... or one of the other animals? This honestly was the hardest decision Gabe ever had to make. How was he supposed to choose just one when there were so many options? Plus he didn't know how long he actually had at the playground. It wasn't like he could ride them all, so he had to make the best choice right away.

But his train of thought was soon distracted by an unfamiliar voice. He turned his head over to the side, taking in the boy with green eyes and black hair. Gabe figured the boy was around his age, maybe a little older.

"Hi," he said in reply with an unnecessary and slightly awkward wave. "I was planning on it, after I pick a creature. Which one do you think is the best? And do you wanna join me? ... I'm Gabriel, by the way. Gabriel Diggle. But you can call me Gabe."

“Ooohhh, my name is Mason.” The goblin replied, his tone mimicking that of the singsong fashion the boy who’s hair he’d long since taken and returned had spoken with. Dragon! I pick the dragon!” He even took a step forward, as if he had real plans to ride it, but the disguised goblin was no fool. The longer he stayed out in the open with the boy was the more likely he was to be spotted.

“But d’you wanna see a real dragon? He’s just a baby and he’s cool!” His hands flew in the air at this point in exaggerated excitement.

“I can show you a unicorn too. Lots of creatures! We can look real quick then come back and ride these not real ones together.” He continued. Would the kid like that? Hmmm?

One good thing about being aaalmost nine was that she could test the boundaries of her parents’ protectiveness, but even so, Bella wasn’t going to test it too much. Just in Diagon Alley, since mum was here lots now because she’d taken over the bookshop. There was lots to do in there, especially since mum had brought the kittens again, but the eight year old blonde had wanted to get outside. All it had taken was a promise not to go too far, or at least not to leave the alley, and she’d known where she was going to go anyway. It wasn’t like there was danger in a playground, right? She’d played there with Regina and Alejandro a-a-a-ges ago (two years ago) along with that other boy with the really strong accent. Maybe stronger than all of her dad’s Quidditch friends from when she was really ickle.

She was still pretty ickle, though. But she was a big girl, and armed with the freedom that promise had given her, she had skipped down toward the middle of the Alley happily, getting even more excited when she heard voices there. Voices meant maybe new friends, and new friends were always fun. Like Benji was, and she’d stopped a few feet away from the two boys with a grin on her face.

Wait, did that one boy say he knew where a real dragon was? And a… “You’ve seen a real unicorn?”, she asked with wide, interested eyes.

Looking up at the sky Beth couldn’t help but smile. Even if it had been dangerous at school last year she was ready, ready for adventure…for something. Instead of heading over to the animal carousel where the A C T I O N was happening the blonde had made her way over toward the self-propelled swing set.

A coy smile playing at her lips. Last year, this was where she had made one of her first…aquantainces? Nicknames – had thoroughly convinced SEÑOR SALTY-PANTS that she was stalking him…she wasn’t, still wasn’t. Never had been in fact. Still, thinking back to that train ride and those early days at school just made her smile.

”He was funny wasn’t he?” she asked Pancake, the light violet Pygmypuff that sat nestled into her shoulder. Every once in a while Pancake did THE THING…that still disgusting T H I N G that Pygmypuffs do oh so disgustingly well – he licked her ear. ”Pancake stop, or…or I’ll tell Daniel” she threatened the little puff and immediately regretted it.

We don’t threaten animals she reminded herself with sigh, but really…Pancake needed to get a hold of his tongue.

Where was she?
All she remembered was walking around Diagon Alley looking at all the different shops and ended up here. Whatever here is, she had no clue where she was at and it sorta freaked her out a bit. " Ok...Stella calm down lets read some signs around us and try to get back on track here. " she tgought to herself. Looking around, she spotted a playground but she froze at how close it was to that place. It was the place where her father told her to never go to or by, and here she was disobeying his orders, she felt horrible but she was lost.

Walking towards the playground she seen that it didn't look bad or anything, but why so close to a place her father forbids her to go too? It didn't make alot of sense to her, but there were probably spells and charms to keep kids from going down there when they aren't suppose to. Going over towards the swings she sat down on them seeing a girl about her age talking to something or someone, ok...she didn't see anyone around but a kid with a goblin and her that was until she seen the Pygmypuff on her shoulder. Pancake? that's a interesting name for a pet, but it was a rather cute name she thought. Swinging on the swings she looked around the place trying to figure out where she was, great a soon to be first year lost in Diagon Alley close to Knockturn Alley. Beth was calmly sitting there not paying attention to Korpsit when she saw the flutter of the swing moving next to her. The swim moving and the girl on it – oh, she wasn’t alone? Not being alone was nice.

Definitely nicer than being all a l o n e.

”um…hi,” she smiled over to the girl that looked at least close to her age. ”do you want to pet my Pygmypuff?” she asked kindly, holding out the tiny fuzzball toward the girl.

Stella snapped from looking around the place, to the girl in front of her who was holding out her cute and fuzzy pygmypuff. It was too cute how could she not resist the urge to pet or even snuggle with it, it looked cuddly. " Hello, sorry I'm a bit lost." she said biting her lip looking around once again. Stella smiled. " Sure thank you." she said petting the fuzzball feeling alot better now she wasn't alone. "I'm Stella, and this is Pancake I'm assuming?" she asked the girl.

Quinn had told Puck she'd take Ellie over to the playground so Puck and Imogen could have some adult time without the 1 year old. Plus, you know, Quinn was going to Norway at the end of the summer and she wanted to get as much time with her little sister in as possible.

Oh, wow. There was so much to this playground. Quinn had never imagined. Her...Mrs. Kevelle never had time for such nonsense, so growing up Quinn had never even stepped foot in this playground, and the park near her house was a muggle park, so their playground was rather uninspired. "Look, they even have a mini-Hogwarts." Ellie in her arms was more interested in catching the glitter that was cascading off her. Quinnlin Moon, personal Tinker Bell to her little sister. "Let's go explore the mini-Hogwarts. I'll point out all the secret locations in the real school to you!"

Ignoring the odd looks she was getting from kids and parents alike, (The glitter made Ellie happy, so Quinnlin felt no reason to be embarrassed) Quinn carried Ellie over to Hogwarts and helped her climb up, before following after her. "Be careful! Honestly, that's sound advice for the real school too...."

After all her shopping had been completed, Rylee had met up with her big sister Rian and nephew Saros for a late lunch. With their meal finished Rian needed to get back home but Rylee wasn't ready yet. Which is what lead her to end up at the playground with the young toddler in tow. A chance to send time with her favorite little ickle.

Holding his hand in her own and walking very slowly so that he could keep up, Rylee looked around the playground. "What do you want to do first, Sar? The swings or the Hogwarts castle? I know all the places in there, it's all written down in the book I made for Reese... maybe someday he'll give it to you." Saros peered up at her at the mention of Reese a wide smile on his chubby baby face.

The toddler finally spotting all the choices in front of him took off as fast as his little feet could go towards nowhere in particular, gripping his Winnie the Pooh in one little fisted hand. Or so it appeared that way to her. Saros on the other hand knew exactly where he was going. After the tall girl that had the glitter trail behind her.

"Where are yo- Quinn?" Rylee exclaimed a small grin tugging at her lips when she realized who her nephew had been following.

"Ready?" Quinn made sure one last time she had a good hold on Ellie and that she was secure in her lap, before shifting her weight, letting gravity carry them down the slide together. It was all too short a ride for Quinn, but Ellie loved it, given the giggle fit she was having.

She was also temporarily covered in glitter from Quinn, although, hers was fading almost as soon as it landed, unlike Quinn's.

"What next? Oh..." Hello, little boy, where are your... Wait.... Quinn got a good luck at the boy that suddenly appeared, following her about. She recognized him. "Saros? Wh...?"

Then she heard a familiar voice and her name and relief set in. "Oh, I think Tinker Bell fits better today. Hey, Ry. How is your summer so far?" Quinn resisted the urge to ask about Reese.

A very bright toothy baby smile broke across the little ginger haired boys face when Quinn turned around. Saros. That was him! Lifting his little hand that wasn't clasping an arm of his stuffie he wiggled his fingers at Quinn and the little girl who was with her. Giggling he tried reaching out to grab some of the glitter that was falling towards the ground.

"It's alright, he's not alone," Rylee smiled warmly seeing the brief moment of worry on her friends face. She might only be thirteen but she would never take her eyes off of her nephew while watching him. Babies got into everything! All she had to do was blink and Saros would be gone with how quickly he was starting to toddle around now.

"Tinker Bell for sure," Rylee giggled softly amusement clear in her shining blue eyes. Lexi had been right. That potion was AWESOME! "It's going alright." She had very little free time lately having chosen to work on several different over the summer. Not to mention babysitting Saros and some of the other kids near her home. "How's your summer?"

Turning her head Beth gave Stella a kind smile, ”don’t worry about it…I mean, Diagon Alley is relatively safe” – safer than the Inferi attack they’d all thwarted back at Hogwarts before the end of term. ”Stella – cool, I like the name…I’m Anabeth but everyone calls me Beth” except not everyone called her Beth some people called her a strange collection of nicknames that even she had stopped keeping track of.

”sorry if Pancake, uh…licks it’s a pygmypuff trait” she shrugged as she handed the little fuzzball over. She didn’t of course, tell her that a Gryffindor classmate of hers had given Pancake to her or that she’d named him according to the food that friend had made for her. That was for later.

When she knew Stella better…and when she felt like talking about Dusty.

Stella nodded. She knew it was safe, but that was when she was with her father and he was an Auror. She hoped to follow his footsteps one of these days, it was weird she was only eleven and knew what she wanted to be. "Oh I have no doubt, just don't like being this near too that place." she said nodding at the stairs leading to that horrible place. Stella was very brave don't get her wrong, but she wasn't stupid she knew not to go near there. Stella smiled happily. She liked her name, no one liked her name or called it cool before! "AnaBeth that's a cool name as well, you could be called Ana or Beth really." she said. Now she thought about it Ana maybe not, it wasn't as cool as Beth. "My dad calls me Ella for short so you can if you like." she said. Her dad also called her Stella Bella but that was because of her whole name, which was Stella Isabelle but no one needed to know that.

Stella shook her head. "Oh no that's totally fine, I got dogs that lick me." she said taking the fuzzball in her arms. It was as cute and cuddly as she thought. " He's so soft and cuddly!" she said giggling as it licked her. Although she imagined after awhile it probably had to be annoying but she thought it was cute.

Had there always been a playground in Diagon alley? Chase couldn’t quite recall. Strolling along the street, he found himself looking upon the magnificent park and smirked when he saw a very familiar face. A familiar face who was proclaiming that EVERYONE called her Beth. Ha. Suuuure kiddo. Chase could have walked away because he was waiting for Lucas but.... the idea of ruffling Gumball Girl’s feather’s just seemed too good to avoid. Hehe.

He cleared his throat and then ended up strolling up to the two girls. He looked at Ella first and then smiled at her. “Excuse me miss. Couldn’t hell but overhear this one says that everyone calls her Beth. She’s Gumball Girl,” he smirked and then turned a challenging smile towards Beth. Hehehe. Oh how he loved to mess with her.

Now where was Lucas?

Holding pancake in her arms she looked at boy who looked about the same age of her older brother. He seem pretty cool, no harm in meeting new friends right? Was this place always busy with people? It was so close to Knockturn Alley were people crazy? Ok... scratch that, she was one of the crazies seeing how she was here.

Ella looked at the boy and looked at him confused. "Why is she called that if I may ask?" she asked the older boy. She was curious about how Beth gotten the name Gumball Girl, it didn't sound like a horrible name but who knew. It was better then being called four eyes or something like that, now that was bad.

”OH so she HASNT TOLD YOU?” asked Chase with a mischievous smirk. He paused, debating whether or not he should tell the grand tale. It wasn’t really a grand tale. Chase had coined the name for her as he had come across Gumball strewn across the ground of this very playground, yes he did remember in his old age now, and found the perpetrator to be the girlie standing in front of them. Of course, Beth hadn’t meant to turn the whole playground into a tripping hazard. Chase knew that but he still couldn’t help but give her a little teasing for it. “Oh well i’ll have to let her tell the story.” He smiles at the younger girl. “I’m Chase by the way. Chase Spenley. Fourth year Gryffindor. Proudly served my house as Chaser last year” He has grown fond of tweeting and posting on social media with the handle #chaserchase. Heh.

Now how was Miss Gumball Girl gonna react?

Stella looked from the boy back to Beth, ok...this was going to be interesting she loved a good story. Stella shook her head and frowned. "No she hasn't, but then again I just met her not too long ago and she hardly knows me to tell me all that much." she said shrugging. Stella nodded. " Ok cool, I'm sure when she's ready she'll tell me. she said smiling at the boy that she knew as Chase. " Wow... Chaser Chase huh?" she asked him. "My dad was on a Gryffindor, I hope to get sorted into Gryffindor but Hufflepuff wouldn't be bad either, my mum was one." she said.

Beth’s jaw dropped at the sound of that voice. He was HERE it was her pla—wait, this was where she had met him. Sticking her chip up and looking over toward Chase she sent him a look before returning her attention to Stella. ”Thanks, it’s a family name – exactly…but if anything I’d have gone with my middle name but someone already has it was their monicker and we’re sort of friends so that would be confusing…wouldn’t it Chase?” she asked turning toward him a little.

”oh he is – he’s named…well, after the food my friend Daniel made me last year” she smiled happily ”I call him Señor Salty-pants – because he’s salty…to me at least” Beth butted in her eyes widening at them as she was being put on the spot to tell the story.

Silly story, easy story.

”we just met today – but Stella’s a spitfire…he’s salty.” she corrected and shook her head, because no way was he getting away from that nickname. ”I’m a slytherin – but…by choice, my mum was one and I wanted to look out a window into the lake” and really climbing UP to bed sounded dreadful. Absolutely dreadful.

”…so the story if you wanna know was simple – Chase, last year rather grumpily thought I was littering ‘cause I had a hole in my pocket and lost a trail of gumballs all the way to these swings.” she explained with a simple grin – ”oh and he thought I had a crush on him because I gave him a nickname almost instantly but…I mean, he kind of just deserved one…cause he’s fun to mess with” Beth grinned.

Lucas has literally nEVER NOTICED THE PLAYGROUND BEFORE and was excited to see it and even MORE excited that Chase was here already. He ran to catch up to his friend, eyeing the two girls curiously because he didn't know them. "Ay, Chase!" he smiled in a friendly manner. "Gonna' introduce me to your friends?" Lucas wiggled his eyebrows a little at them both. "I'm Lucas. One of Chase's very bestest friends." He winked and ruffled his silky smooth fire-engine red hair. He wondered if Chase would like it. The boy was constantly changing his hair ~~no thanks to his face claim ahem~~ and summer just felt so VIBRANT to him so he needed a BRIGHT COLOR.

He felt like he may have seen the girl with the glasses [Beth] around a good bit in school, but he wasn't sure about the other one. He ran ahead of them a little bit and gestured at the little playground!version of Hogwarts. "So I haven't played on one of these things in years and--" He suddenly began to climb up the side using the stairs clearly made for much younger children than him. "I wanna' sliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide"

Ella nodded and smiled. "Well... it's a cool name, its unique and cool and not many people have unique names. " That was true, now days names were so common and boring it was quite pathetic. She wasn't saying people's names were pathetic by any means, sne just liked unique names. Ella didn't know what was going on here, were they friends or frenemies or what, she was greatly confused by it all.

"Hey that's so cool you named it after your friends food he made you, and it's unique!"she said happily. Ella giggled. That's a funny nickname, funny but I like it!" she said still laughing. " I call my brothers buttheads because they are, but that's a rather simple nickname for them." she said shrugging.

Ella laughed looking between them, theu sure had history together that was for sure, and it was quite funny. " So you're a Snake huh how do you like it?" she asked her curiously. She always liked to know other people's thoughts on the houses seeing how she might not be in the same house as them.

Stella listened to the story and laugh. "Well...not like you really knew until he pointed it out, besides you were just marking your territory. " she said simply. Ok...that sounded weird, but she was a bit odd.

Stella looked at the boy that was older then them all and smiled. "Hello Lucas, I'm Stella but you can call me Ella for short. she said kindly. Looking at his hair she seen how fire engined red hair, it was sure out there but it was cool. "Nice hair, does it change colors cause that would be awesome as well!" she said watching him go down the slide. "Aren't you afraid it'll break and you'll fall on your butt?" she asked him laughing watching him.

The crazy, absolutely masterfully crazy slytherin sprite was about to make a comment to Chase pointing out that he had a knack for finding her…maybe even throw that comment from the train back at him only in jest? BUT the bright carrot-haired slytherin she had seen around the common rooms last term had arrived…right what was his name? She’d always just pictured him as a carrot.

Carrot…what was his name she contemplated before giving Chase a look almost pleading him to help when he said his own name. Oh thank merlin. ”Nice to meet you Chase – I’m Beth…that one calls me Gumball Girl or GG” then turning back to Ella she just grinned. ”thanks, it is fun” she contemplated saying she liked it too because she did, or well she didn’t hate it. ”I don’t hate it, its grown on me…better than Gravestone” because that was the other common one within the slytherin common room.

”oh I like it – my mum was one and I absolutely loved the head of house last year – I’ll be sad if she’s no longer there…Laurel’s great, she’s like family.” she admitted with a smile but a part of her felt like this was likely the time Auntie Lau would leave. What if it broke? Ooooooooooooh now Beth wanted a camera.

Chase nodded as he listened to young Stella explain how Beth and her had literally just met a few minutes before he had decided to grace their presence with his very being. What can I say except your welcome?? shouted his inner self. Please he was Chaser Chase. The quiet heartthrob of last year's Gryffindor Quidditch team. Okay so SURE they hadn't won but they had had FUN. Perhaps this year they would win. Regardless of him making the team or not he'd be out there to support because Anna, one of his best mates, was their fearless Captain. He smiled as he listened to her speak about how she'd like to be a Gryffindor. He nodded. "we'd be happy to have you but its all up to the Sorting Hat. I do hope you join us."

He tried his hardest to remain his composure when Beth reacted. OH HO HO HO!!! How he lived for such a reaction. Ruffling her feathers was becoming way too easy these days. A smirk tugged at his lips but then as Beth looked at him once more, he replaced that very smirk with an innocent smile. He'd picked up a few notes from Kowlaski's book. Yes, even though he and Flynn had butted heads- he had admired the boy's sassiness. Despite him being mean to him, he sort of liked the bullying... he supposed if that made any sort of sense. Nope. Scratch that very thought. At the mention of his nickname bestowed upon him by Beth, he just smiled. "Why thank you for sharing my wonderful name." He turned to Stella. "I embrace my name fully. Mr. Salty Pants. Don't know how I could ever get such a name," he chuckled. Then it took all of his might not to blush when GG mentioned the crush scenario. Er.. Well... "I just don't give anyone nicknames so I assumed that you..." He turned to Stella. "I was convinced that she had a crush on me for months..." He paused, leaning over and STAGE whispered. "...between you and me.... still kinda am convinced that she DOES have one..." Before he could add anything else to the conversation, someone else arrived.

This very person sounded like Lucas but when he turned his head, he found a BRIGHT RED haired Lucas look alike. Oh silly Chase! It was Lucas. "Hyeong!!" he cried, giving his brother from another mother an appropriate bro hug. "Love the hair, Lucas. What inspired you?" At Lucas' insisting, he turned to the group and was about to make introductions. Yes, these two girls were very blessed that Lucas Choi had made a very rare appearance. "This is Lucas. He is cooler than I'll ever be. I hope that one day I'll at least be as cool as him but we'll see," he chuckled. The boy was pointing to his mate as Lucas ventured towards the adorable miniature replica of their beloved school. Then he pointed at Beth. "I'm sure you two have seen each other before... You're both Slytherins... This ones the one I thought had a crush on me," cried Chase with an awkward chuckle as he watched Lucas climb.

Now Lucas had a grand idea. "Want to join?" he turned offering Stella and Beth before leaning in to touch Beth's arm. "Tag you're it. No tag backs!" And the boy ran as fast as he could after Lucas. He needed to find the highest ground. "Quickly mate! They're IT!"

Ella looked over at Beth and smiled. " That's good, I know some people hate the house they were sorted into, like my brother hated being a Hufflepuff but he grew into it." she said. Why was her older brother a butt head then wasn't Hufflepuff nice and sweet? He was a plain butthead and her other brother was a Gryffindor, god helped her if she was sorted into Gryffindor. Ella frowned. "Well that's not very nice of them. " she said crossing her arms.

" Your mum worked there? That's so cool, my dad is a Auror and my mum is a healer." she said shrugging as if it was nothing. Ella watching Lucas she wanted it to break so badly causd she would have a laugh, but she didn't want anyone to get hurt.

Ella smiled at Chase. "I would love to be a Lion, I got so many hopes for me and I haven't been there or sorted!" she said giggling. She hoped someday she'll be prefect of Gryffindor, but that was just a dream of hers she'll doubt will ever happen. But hey she was allowed to have dreams, it was go big or go home as she seen it. Plus being a Starson she had some big shoes to fill if she wanted to be like her father.

Stella smiled. "Um... sure no problem, although I was just guessing. " she said shrugging. Stella giggled. "That was because she gave you a nickname right away?" she asked him laughing. She laughed. " Oh really you think so huh?" she was amused by this.

Climbing the stairs she giggled like a little kid going down the slide, hey...this was fun! Laughing she ran back up the stairs towards Chase.
