"Uh-huh! I can't wait to have him at school with me. It's going to be so much fun!" Rylee giggled bouncing on her feet excitedly. Being away from Reese last year had been horrible. "I don't even want to think about take the NEWTs at all... I heard they are really really hard! I bet you'll do great though!" She was positive Kimi would pass all his exams when he reached his seventh year and do really well. She smiled as as he explained to her that he wasn't sure what he wanted to do after school yet. "Well it's good that you can work with your mum. Maybe you'll end up liking it there and learning lots too." She wasn't sure what his mum did for work but maybe she had a really fun job.

Kimi smiled and said "I know what you mean Rylee but for you NEWTs are ages away i have to start thinking about them because they arent far away and thanks i am sure i will do well too, Yes it is good i can work with her because it will be good to have something to do and learn a lot while i am trying to get sorted and on my feet"

Noah nodded along while he repeated what she said, waiting for him to agree with at least one. Thankfully he was keen on the house elves. The shop hadn't seemed full when she walked by on the way up here, with luck it would remain that way and they wouldn't have to wait to play with them.

"Yaaaaay!" The little girl bounced a time or two, obviously excited to have him onboard. "Okay! Come with me!"

Noah took him by the hand, practically bouncing again as she began pulling him towards the steps of Knockturn Alley. They could make a quick stop with the elves....or.....actually. If they STAYED then his mummy and daddy would come looking for him and they'd make him leave.

Hmmmm.....

Oh! She had the perfect idea and on she dragged him.

This was true. She had a long long way to go yet until she had to take the NEWTs. In fact she still had several more years yet until she even had to take the OWLs. There was really no reason for her to even be thinking about these things. "You're right but my sister says it happens much quicker than I think." Hopefully not to quickly though. Rylee smiled nodding her head making her ginger hair falling into her face again. "Uh-huh. I bet your mummy will really like having you working with her too. Is her job lots of fun?" If it is then he should just stay there and keep working alongside his mum rather than find a different job unless of course he really wanted to do something else.

Kimi thought and said "Well my works with creating and testing potions it is fun i will probably work with her until i have decided what i am going to ultimately do because i do kind of want to help cure people so like working in St.Mungo's would be a dream job for me"

Before he could even change his mind the girl had his hand and started to pull him. "Wait, do you think I should at least tell my dad?" His eyes looked back at the prophet before looking at her and trying to stop, but girl was kind of strong as she pulled him.


Though it did sound fun and he didn't really want to sit at the prophet, though the interns were there and he always liked when younger people were around.


Giving one last look to the prophet and thinking about his bag a little too late he turned and followed the girl to wherever they were going to see these elves.

Creating and testing potions. That sounded an awful lot like someone else she used to know. Rylee smiled softly. "My sister used to be close with someone who made potions... now she's really good at making potions too." Which sort of made sense considering the line of work her big sister Rian did. "My sister makes her own perfumes which is sort of like potions cause you have to do a lot of mixing and testing how different scents and stuff work together." Some of the different mixtures were horrible and made the entire house smell but when the perfumes came out as how they should it was absolutely amazing! Rylee smiled again when he said he wanted to help people. "My nephew's daddy is studying to be a Healer! Is that what you want to do?" There was a lot of studying involved in becoming a Healer but Rylee thought it was a very rewarding career.

Kimi smiled at Rylee and said "Yeah i would love to study to be a healer my mum says i should do it because well i have to right sort of manners to do healing"

Rylee nodded as she listened to what Kimi had to say. "I think she's right. Plus you would understand how they feel because you've been sick too. So maybe that would help you when you're taking care of them." It was easier to help others when you knew what they were going through right? She thought so. "It takes a lot of hard work and studying to become a Healer though."

Kimi listened to what Rylee was saying and said "Yeah your right there Rylee i would probably help and understand what my patients were going through because i have been sick and yes it does take a lot of hard work and studying to become a healer but i feel that i would be able to cope with it a lot"

"I think you would too and you can take your time in becoming one, right?" she asked. It wasn't like he had to become a Healer overnight or anything. "I'm not sure what I want to do yet. I like lots of things. Like playing Quidditch and dancing. And taking care of creatures and going exploring." Rylee giggled. They would be here all day long if she continued to list all the things she liked to do. It's a good thing she still had time for she needed to make up her mind.

Kimi smiled and said "Yeah course i can take my time Rylee because after i have finished with Hogwarts i am going to take some time out to travel the world before i start my studies on becoming a healer i want to travel and see more of the world before i start studying a lot and yes you have got loads of time to decide on what you want to do in the future"

Rylee couldn't help but smiled widely when he said he wanted to travel first. "Really?! Where do you want to go? I like to go exploring in the forest that's around my home." It was traveling all around the world but it was but it fun and she learned a real lot. Kimi was definitely right. There was more than enough time to think about what she wanted to do after she graduated. "I know. I just like so many things," she giggled. It was going to be super hard to choose!

Kimi smiled and said "Well i kind of want to go to Canada and Australia as well as New Zealand but there are other countries i want to visit but i have yet to make my mind up about them" Kimi nodded and said "Yeah i kind of get what you mean i was the same when i was your age but i am now more focused on the sort of career i want to do after all the years i have been ill for"

Rylee's eyes widen and she bounced on the heels of her feet as Kimi listed a few of the places countries he wanted to travel to. "I hope you get to visit them all! Maybe you can sent me postcards or something and we can owl one another so I can hear about all the amazing things you're learning!" She was already getting herself all excited for her friend just thinking about all the wonderful places would go and things he would get to see. Again with the giggles. "What kind of things did you like when you were my age?" Consider her really curious about all things.

Kimi laughed and said "Well mostly when i was your age Rylee i was only into qudditch and is that the time i must go and get the rest of the supplies before i run out of time, I will see you on the train more than likely Rylee and of course i will owl you i like to keep in touch with my friends"

"Oooooh!" If Rylee's smile could have possibly grown anymore just than it had. "Quidditch! I play Quidditch! I made reserve last term!" She gave him a bright smile. He had to go now and honestly she probably needed to get a move on things too. "Okay! I'll see you on the train, Kimi! Bye!" Rylee grinned waving at her older friend as skipped away heading off down the street to make her way towards the shops that she needed to go to.

It had been a long time since he'd last found himself in Diagon Alley, standing in the middle of the street with hands shoved in the pockets of his trousers, still a bit cold despite being dressed warmly. Though he made many trips home, he still favored the warmth of Hawaii.

Looking from one side to the other, grey eyes taking in his surroundings, all covered in fluffy white snow, Noah waited patiently for his company to arrive. He was unsure where, exactly, she would be coming from. They hadn't exactly ironed out the details. It was a.. strange request, at best, as it were. If he'd ever needed to talk to her before, he would have easily slipped over to the Paton's house, or met her at St. Mungo's when she had a moment. But this.. this was different.

This was important.

It was a rather pleasant evening that day in Diagon Alley. A gentle breeze blew through the air as crowds of people bustled to and fro. One such person was Kitty Valentine, a young Gothic lady who was handing out leaflets to anyone who looked interested. The leaflets contained information on the Statute of Secrecy on one side and information on the infamous lady Pinkstone on the other.

Kitty looked down at her leaflets. "Nine left," she cheerfully announced to no one in particular. Most of the people she gave the leaflets to didn't look all that interested, to be honest, though. Still, it was refreshing to be back on the streets doing activism again. She hadn't gotten into any arguments recently, which was probably a good thing.

She glanced over at the Daily Prophet headquarters. It was tempting to give it a shot. "Why not?" she said out loud, and she began heading in that direction.

Louise was out and about searching for a story .. she'd had this writer's block for a couple weeks now and it was oddly annoying. It was hearing the why not though and seeing the young woman passing out flyers that had the young american reporter skeptical.

Skeptical, but also intrigued. Perhaps this could be her next story. Even if she didn't agree with whatever she was passing around. She just had to be stealthy so the young woman would give her information... Information that she could use to spin around to her own opinion based piece.

With a confident look about her, she headed straight in her direction, intending to snag a flyer without saying too much. Because her opinion would be said in her writing. "What ya got there?" she asked in an obviously American Southern accent.

She had just walked a few steps towards the Daily Prophet headquarters when she was approached by an woman who looked around her own age. Kitty smiled at her. "I'm handing out leaflets. Would you like one?" And she handed her one without waiting for an answer.

"On one side is basic information about the Statute of Secrecy and why it was put into force. On the other side is information about Carlotta Pinkstone, the anti-Statute activist. She didn't want to repeal the Statute to oppress Muggles like Voldemort and Grindelwald did. She loved Muggles and was all for equality. She wanted to repeal the Statute so we could share out medicines with Muggles and so we could befriend them without lying about who we are. She is a hero and inspiration to me." She finished with a friendly smile.

Something about this obviously American woman seemed VERY familiar, but Kitty was not sure from where. She had the distinct impression that she had seen her before, but thought it would do ask just right away.

It was rude to stare, Louise knew that, and yet as the young woman went on about the statute, she couldn't help but feel some sense of a throwback to her former professors .... She smiled though graciously at her.

"So ... you want to appeal the statute and reveal ourselves to the no-maj community? Aren't you worried about the safety of the wizarding community though?" She asked, flipping over the flyer and scrutinizing it. "Witches and wizards were burned for their.... special talents. Don't you think that no-majs ... or muggles, rather, would not believe in magic. There's a lot of doubtful and skeptics out in this world who think we're dangerous."

Kitty was happy to see how much this topic interested the American. She launched into a an animated (bot non-confrontational) defense of her idea, sometimes talking so fast that her words tripped over themselves. She was not the most fluent speaker, but she tried.

"I totally understand where you're coming from," she assured her, nodding "There was a time when the Statute of Secrecy was needed to protect us. Muggles, er, no-majs were more superstitious back then. Of course there are still bad no-majs, but I believe the good and tolerant ones way outnumber the bad ones. Even though my mother is a witch, I grew up surrounded by Muggles and Muggle inventions. Almost everyone I knew at Hogwarts had at least one no-maj in their lives who they knew to be a kind person. I bet you know a few too. Wouldn't it be great if we didn't have to hide ourselves from them and we could express ourselves openly?" She had switched from using Muggle to no-maj for the benefit of the American, though the transition was not smooth enough to prevent her from lapsing back to Muggle now and again.

Something about this woman really, REALLY reminded Kitty of someone. She could have sworn she had seen her before, maybe at Hogwarts, but how could she when she was American? Hmmm.

"I'm Kitty DuGray Valentine, by the way," she said, holding out free her towards the American. "I like your accent. It's American, right?" She hoped the woman wouldn't mind her commenting on her accent. It was meant good-naturedly.

RIGHT, she had SUPPLIES to buy. SUPPLIES. Literally the most boring stuff EVER that she needed to take back to school with her.

Textbooks, pffffffft, piles and piles of parchment for homework, pfffffft. Puh-leeease, she had so much more to live for DO while at school. Like run, fly and practice Quidditch. She didn't have time for all theory nonsense!

And that was what she kept saying, but deep down she knew the whole point of school was to learn. Yeeeeah, well. Whatever.

Anna decided to take a BREAK from buying all of that boring stuff and got an ice cream. Y'know, just to CHILL.

That was what she was doing right now. Chilling with her ice cream and people watching. Heehee.

Penny was fretting as she scoured her supply list one last time. She was certain she had missed something... or just wasn't thinking about some little something she was likely going to need. There was SOMETHING she had overlooked. Penny just KNEW it. As she paused in the street, her mouth moved silently as the rereading commenced... yet again.

It was infuriating, to say the least, but she had to be sure that everything was acquired before her mum arrived to take them home. UGH.

In a moment of sheer frustration, the little Hufflepuff stamped her foot, marched to the bench, plopped down, arms crossed and commenced to pout. A pout of epic proportions, if you will. Like, it was so big and pouty and she was so focused that the fact that another witch occupied that bench had not occurred to her just yet. Oopsie.
