 Welcome to the Slytherin Common Room!
When you first enter the room, it may take a moment for your eyes to adjust to the dim, green-tinted room. The stony walls are unusually tall for being in a dungeon. Green-hued lamps hover around the perimeter of the room. It seems a bit cold, dull, and damp, but the closer you stand next to the large fireplaces, the warmer you will get. Above the fireplaces are carvings in stone of large snake heads, so you never forget which House you belong to. Additional snake-like carvings slither their way around the fireplaces and along the walls of the room.
Leather couches and armchairs surround the different gathering areas that are accompanied by a fireplace. Various dark wooden tables with matching wooden chairs are set up around the common room as well, providing plenty of space to do your homework, read, study, or plot your next prank.
The windows, the few that exist, seem strangely dim. With a quick glance, you may think they're just insanely dirty. But every once in a while, you might see a fish flash by... or a kelpie... or perhaps a tentacle from the Giant Squid. That's right - you may be in the dungeons, but you share the underground with the creatures of the Black Lake, too.
Make yourself at home. You may want to bring a blanket.

The common room, once stepped into, once alive with bursts of color and warm light, has faded to an unsettling gray. The cheerful banners hang limply, their hues now ghostly shades of charcoal.
Cushions that were once plush and bright have lost their vibrance, looking washed out and worn. Even the walls seem drained, the lively textures blurred, as if covered in a layer of dust but without any dust evident. It’s as if someone has dimmed the lights, casting everything into a muted, monochrome haze. Better check the dorms, it looks like this isn't the only spot to have gone gray.

As Gillyweed stepped into the common room, she was momentarily oblivious to the overwhelming greyness surrounding her. At first, she attributed the haze to the unique atmosphere of being under the lake, where water and light danced together in intriguing ways. But as she looked around, the realisation dawned on her: the colours of their common room had succumbed to a dull grey, as if the life had been siphoned from the very essence of the space.
The green and silver banners now hung limply, their colours transformed into shades of charcoal. Cushions that once invited her to sink into their plush warmth looked worn and faded, lacking the comforting charm they usually exuded. The walls, normally alive with intricate textures, appeared blurred and lifeless, stripped of their vibrance, making the entire room feel like a forgotten memory.
It was disconcerting, this eerieness in the common room. "What happened here?" she whispered to herself, instinctively feeling a tug of concern. She had a feeling that the source of the greyness was not merely an effect of the lake's depths. With a determined flick of her hair, Gilly decided to move about the common room for any area that hadn't been affected or if there were any signs of what may have caused the haze.

With his mind on the letter he was going to write to his parents JT wasn't exactly the most observant as he stepped into the common room. He did however become more alert to his surroundings when he saw a slightly older girl Gillyweed if he wasn't misremembering moving around as if she was looking for something.
Curious now this brown haired snake boy started to really look around too, making big eyes as he took in the sight of the usually cheerful house banners now all charcoled and limp. "Who did this? What has happened? Why? This is so weird." JT said loudly as he moved over to inspect the bleached out cushions on the sofas.
