Post J.K. Rowling admits 'The Silkworm' crime novel better than 'The Cuckoo's Calling'

J.K. Rowling, in signed note to Jade Olivia below, admitted that she believed The Silkworm, the second mystery novel she wrote under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith, was actually better than the first book in the series, The Cuckoo's Calling.

Olivia, who played Astoria Malfoy in the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows epilogue (and longtime girlfriend of Tom Felton), updated her official Instagram with the following note from the Harry Potter author.

Time to delve in to the Silkworm. See you in a week.

The Galbraith Strike novels have been confirmed to be adapted as a television series for BBC One. No word yet on casting or when production will begin. Rowling is currently working on the third book in the Galbraith crime novel series, focusing on detective Cormoran Strike.

Also, J.K. Rowling attended a fundraiser in New York City the week she was over to promote the U.S. sector of her charity organisation Lumos. A photo of the author at the Rainbow Room in Manhattan with comedian John Oliver and Lumos' CEO Georgette Mulheir can be seen here.
