BACKGROUND
When invited by Miss Gabriela Schultz to come speak on the matter of flying carpets, Janssen immediately jumped at the chance. Going on his 10th year as Department Head for the South African Transportation Department, Janssen has had many experiences with flying carpets - both positive and negative, but mainly negative.
Janssen personally feels that flying carpets are too hard to regulate. Coming from South Africa, which has a rich history stretching back generations, he also feels that magic carpets could possibly be infringing on muggle artifacts that could greatly strengthen the history and unity of the country, both muggle and wizarding alike. He supports the law put in place in Great Britain and has spent the last year attempting to push similar legislature through the South African magical government.
In his free time, Janssen is an avid fisherman and also enjoys swimming. When he retires, he wants to move to Iceland after traveling the world and fulfilling his dream of buying a winged horse.

Ever since a young age Achilles had always been one to do something exciting. He was always on the go, looking for an experience. Achilles always wanted an adventure whenever he received the opportunity.
Growing older, Achilles was determined to seek out a career which kept his life just as fun as ever. Looking for a job, he found himself repeatedly drawn to flying carpets. Achilles gets to ride the flying carpets first, test out its bad and good qualities, and figuring what would be best for it to thrive in the market, and most importantly, make sure it provides safety and fun for customers. Because of this, he had always been one to approve of flying carpets and enjoys having a job centered around them. Although he has had a few accidents here and there, while testing them out, he has always given the flying carpets approval after they had been improved.

History: As the middle child of the heir to long-standing Fashadi Carpet business, Farwaris has had the opportunity to experience all that goes into the world of magical and flying carpets from making to selling. He has now reached the rung on which he is dealing and selling magic carpets both in his homeland and outside of it where law permits. As a long-standing business, Fashadi Carpets has been in operation since the Caliphate era (around 700 A.D.) in what is now Iran. Due to this longevity the family-owned business has serviced kings, dignitaries, shahs and other powerful and wealthy individuals across the globe for many years. His forefathers have seen the ban on magical carpets lifted, placed, re-invented, and loop-holed in countries all over the world. To Farwaris, the issue is simply a matter of a fickle decision, for all objects whose invention is based on those pre-dating the statute can be said to be shared between the muggle and the magical world including of course the favoured broomstick.
The Fashadi family has amassed quite a lot of wealth from doing business in the orient and other places where the flying carpet is a legal and often preferred form of transport. This afforded Farwaris many luxuries as a child that not everyone has had. When he turned 11, he attended the Shah's School of Magic for Boys where he received a rounded education and chose a focus on Muggle Studies. Prior to that he benefited from private tutelage from a teacher the then current Shah appointed from the Persian Ministry's Department of Education. Despite being raised with advantages, Farwaris has taken to using his money and influence to aid in the welfare of wizardingkind throughout his homeland. Philanthropic pursuits such as giving grants to schools for education and research for protective spells that guard against muggle instruments of destruction are part of his track record. He is also an advocate of "Touink Travel", a concept in the wizarding world which would allow for instantaneous world passage regardless of items carried to and from provided those items remain in 'safe use'.
Farwaris's favourite carpet of all time is a two-faced purely geometric design, rose dyed piece from Torkaman (near N. Tehran) woven at the same time by two separate individuals.

Narrative History:
All his life his parents have told him what he should do, what classes he should take, where he should live, who he should date. After graduating from Arabia he vanished, leaving his hometown of Yanbu and moving to Khobar where he started learning the business of flying carpets.
His parents found him, and still try to make it part of their lives to force him to see certain ladies they know or return to their faith, which he left the moment he moved away. It's still a battle of wanting to be on his own and live his own life. It's perhaps one of the reasons for the dark side he has. He studies the dark arts but not to use against others, but to be able to use it to defend himself if ever needed.
