Video: Stuart Craig talks work as production designer for Harry Potter films
Production designer Stuart Craig, who was nominated once again for an Academy Award his work in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I, spoke to the BBC recently about his career in film, and work on the Harry Potter series for ten years. Craig briefly discussed what it was like the final day of filming Deathly Hallows last year, and how emotional that particular day was. His discussion on the Harry Potter series begins at around 4:30 into the interview.
Quote:
"The extraordinary thing is this franchise is ten years old," he said.
"The fact that we're still competing for awards on that level is very, very gratifying," he added.
The Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I Blu-ray and DVD sets, out on April 11, 2011 in the U.K. and April 15, 2011 in the U.S., can be pre-ordered on Amazon.
The new Ministry sets(Umbridge's office, Magic is Might Statue, Interrogation room, etc..), Godric Hollow sets(Bathilda's house, Potter's destroyed house, Graveyard, Church, etc..), Camping CGI sets, Tent, Xenophilius house, Malfoy Manor(Cellar, Exterior, Main Interior, etc..), Wedding tent, Granger home, New Weasley home, Grimmauld Place and any new props we got to see(books, wands, locket, bike, etc..) all look AMAZING. He really deserves it, especially for not winning in the past for everything else he's done in the series(Hogwarts, Hogsmeade Village, etc..).
