Hogwarts RPG Name: Sébastien Voclain Fifth Year | Once it was his and Zéline's task time, he left the grandstands after his headmistress wished him luck and went to find his friend. It was time and he was ready and was sure that his friend was, too. He tried to not think about round's one results. He intended to do his best and represent his school as best as he could.
Confidently, he made his way into the arena his head held high. Silently he started surveying the place that surrounded him. There was not much left to notice except for the bookshelves. "Leet's cheeck zem," he murmured stepping closer to the most-lit bookshelves.
He didn't know what he was expecting but it definitely was so different from the task he participated in months ago. Obviously because this one was related to different subjects.

Once you enter the library, the door closes shut behind you, locking you in. Just as your eyes start to wander around the large amounts of books, a piece of parchment flutters to the ground in front of your path, which reads: Young witches and wizards, do not despair,
with a little luck and some wits, you won't lose your hair.
Pick me up, one of the pink books in sight,
and you will see, i'm quite the tongue-twister if not picked right.
Your task has begun and the clock is ticking. For which book you select shall determine your fate.

Fifth Year | Zéline could tell Sébastien was feeling confident and that fed her own confidence a little; not that she had that much confidence right now, though. She followed him with a frown that was a mixture between annoyance and worry. She did not appreaciate this whole English-speaking-only competition and thought it was very unfair with the foreigners, but there was nothing she could do about it.
The sight of the books cheered her up for a second, but then she remembered they were most probably all in English, which made her get even more annoyed. She sighed and kept following Sébastien, getting closer to the shelves and standing a little behind him. Zéline noticed a parchment that appeared right in front of them and hesitated a little before picking it up.
She read it aloud so Sébastien could hear and didn't hide the annoyance in her tone. After reading the whole thing, she shot a serious look at her school mate before looking at the shelves. "Nous devons choisir un livre." She repeated, this time in her mother tongue. "Peek me up, on of ze peenk books in sight..." The fifteen year old reread and looked at the shelf once again. So it was just choosing a book? Or she just didn't get the riddle again? "Je déteste ces énigmes en anglais." Zéline complainted, frowning deeper and staring at the books in front of them.
Zéline decided to just go for it, then. She approached one of the particular ailes that had a stronger light flickering on the book titles and... picked up the first pink book she saw. "Voilŕ. Et maintenant?"
Stupid English puzzle. |

Stupid English puzzle. He stood before the shleves while his eyes wandered across the books searching for something that might catch his attention and tell them something but he didn't find anything and he almost didn't notice the piece of parchment that appeared. Good thing Zélina was paying attention to that. Sébastien turned to the fellow fifth-year as he listened to her reading what seemed to be some kind of puzzle.
At the mention of book his eyes flickered to the bookshelves remembering seeing a pink one. However, he turned to his friend and nodded, "Il n'est pas facile," talking in English that is. He of course would have preferred the puzzles and books to be in his mother language. But that wasn't the case so he had to adabt. Though he knew exactly how Zélina felt and couldn't balme her. He might not show it but he wasn't enjoying having to speak in a foreign language for quite a while now and espicially in a task where he had to solve puzzles and go through books.
Sébastien let Zélina take the book as he peered at the piece of parchment reading the words silently again. His forehead creased in concentration he turned to look at his school mate. "I wonder what ze last line meanz," he said. "Leet's see what iz een ze book?" he suggested eyeing the book and wondering if it'd be safe to do so considering the quizz's words.

Fifth Year | Zéline was trying to keep her annoyance at bay. They had already lost the first task all because they took a long time trying to understand what the riddle meant and she wouldn't be pleased one bit if that happened again. They had to do it this time and that's why she had grabbed the first pink book she saw already. Got to get this thing over with as soon as possible.
She shrugged at Sébastien's comment about the last line of the riddle and reread it herself. Weird. But he was right, they would find out soon enough, she supposed. Holding the parchment against the back cover, Zéline opened the pink book and started flipping through its pages... |

The book that the female French girl selected off the shelf caused her tongue to tie. Perhaps that was why she wasn't speaking after the male asked to see what was in the book; because she couldn't talk being tongue-tied.
And it seemed as if the book is cursed just as Zéline's tongue was, as when she tried to flip through the pages, the book wouldn't open.... what on Earth could be keeping it closed?

Hogwarts RPG Name: Sébastien Voclain Fifth Year | He turned around to have another look around to see if they had missed something. Just double checking on the environment that surrounded them. Nothing seemed to draw his attention. He was just making sure anyway. Better safe than sorry. Sébastien diverted his attention back on his friend who didn't say anything. He thought maybe she had seen something in the book that trigged her attention and got her lost in the words or too focused to translate and understand them.
But that was not it.
She had not yet opened the book. He looked at her curiously then at the book in her hands and noticed that it wasn't opening. He frowned at that and almost reached out to take it from her but then stopped with his hand half way to the book. Drawing his hands away her said, "Can't you open eet?" Just to be sure.
And why wasn't she talking. He exected Zéline to keep complaining about the usage of the language. Yet she did not now do so.

Fifth Year | Zéline frowned and tried harder to open the pink book. She gave up after a few seconds and was about to complain to Sébastien about it when she realised she couldn't speak. Not properly, at least. Her face got even more pale and her eyes widened and she clutched the book and huffed in anger. Not only was she annoyed at this whole English-only thing and not she couldn't even speak neither language! Great. That was just great!
She threw the book on the ground and crossed her arms over her chest like a little angry child, her red face turning to the other books as she glared at them. Zéline didn't calm down before rereading the stupid riddle on the parchment she was still holding. 'Pick me up, one of the pink books in sight,
and you will see, i'm quite the tongue-twister if not picked right.'
Zéline pondered angrily over these words and then frowned at the stupid pink book on the floor. 'If not picked right'... did it mean 'picked' as in 'chosen' or in 'picked up'? Or what??? Stupid English language! How could she even know what the riddle meant??
She was definitely going to complain to Headmistress Enzo about this. She had to do something now, though, so she decided to go for the 'picked up' translation to see if it worked. Zéline pulled out her wand and pointed it at the pink book on the ground, trying to use an enchantment to open it. She was no good with non-verbals, though, so she didn't expect much. Looking at Sébastien, she gestured for him to do something himself, since she couldn't speak now. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Sébastien Voclain Fifth Year | He noticed the change on his friend's face immediately. Her frown got one on his as well seeing that she was not able to talk. He knew he would hate it. And how were they going to comunicate and discuss? This was not good. He ran his hand through his hair trying to thinnk of what to do and where did they go wrong. The riddle was a tricky one.
Sébastien saw Zéline point her wand at the book and caught up with her right away. He did the same by pulling his wand but pointing it at the tongue-tied girl first. "Finite," He tried. Maybe it would work and she would be able to talk because that would be important and he did not want her to be too upset. Because then he would have to solve everything on his own. And, of course he cared about her. Mhh-hmm. He would rather her complain than this this silence.
Pointing his wand at the book next he spoke. "Wingardium Leviosa," Swish and flick. Easy to preform but will it be the answer? He waited to see.

The spell the boy used on the girl ended her tongue-tying curse .... and then the book levitated in front of the pair, as if holding the answer to the next step...

Hogwarts RPG Name: Sébastien Voclain Fifth Year | His eyes watched the book as it hovered in air. So, now what? He still didn't feel like touching it afraid that he might get his tongue tied. Not something he liked to experience even knowing that he could remove the spell. Speaking of which, "Zéline?" he looked at the girl questioningly wondering if he managed to untie her tongue. Hopefully. He'd rather talk with her and discuss.
Maybe she needed time. He turned back to the book still holding it in midair. Since the book could not be opened when she tried, then it meant it was somehow locked. He searched her mind for a way to unlock in such situation. He decided it had something to do with Arithmancy, unless some dark force held the book locked. But they wouldn't let anything dark involved in a compitition between schools and for underage wizards. Hopefully.
"Eef...eet's locked....zen.." he murmured talking to himself more than his partner. Hesitantly, he lowered the book then kept his wand aimed at the book and spoke. "Arithmos Revelio," Say the book was cursed. This should help. And if not then it wouldn't cause any harm.
