The office of Professor William Walter Williamson rests out on the grounds, not too far away from where the hut of former Groundskeeper, hero, and legendary Care of Magical Creatures Professor Rubeus Hagrid was once located.

WWW's office looks nothing like Hagrid's hut, however. Outside the hut are a few fancy-looking green and silver hand-painted wooden benches, worn by the weather but comfortable to rest up upon anyway. Once you are admitted within the office (it's small, so William can only see a few students at a time), you will notice that the office is surprisingly bright, with both modern and classical influences.

The back wall, which is really just a giant green shelving unit, contains several brass lamps and numerous books, mostly old textbooks on creatures and wizarding communications from WWW's university days. There are also a variety of photos, several of which contain current Hogwarts professors at all ages (look closely enough and you might just recognize the athletic Ancient Runes professor and quirky Groundskeeper waving at you). A few awards and certificates rest in fancy frames as well as a complete collection of Chocolate Frog cards on a soft, black velvet background.

There is a plush couch on the right side of the office for students to sit upon and a few wooden chairs in front of Professor Williamson's desk for visitors too. Interestingly enough, the desk seems to emit an occasional bark or growl, and you have to wonder... are the rumors true? Did the professor really hollow out his desk and turn it into a doghouse for his cruppy Jack?

Have a seat, take a load off your feet, ask what questions you will, and see if your awesome professor can help you out.

ooc note: You may only post here AFTER you have posted at the benches outside the hut and have received express permission to enter the office. =)

Issues was an understatement. At least, that is what the sixth year thought as she made her way into the office with Walnut still clutched in her arms. Professor Williamson's crup was still here, right? Kurumi didn't want to risk Walnut potentially peeing on anything, so in her arms he stayed.

"Walnut...what am I going to do with you?" she sighed as the feline squirmed in her arms so that he could hang over her shoulder while he purred. Kurumi looked around the office to see if everything was the same as last term...which it seemed to be, but she really couldn't remember well enough to know for sure. It had always been green, right?

Since Walnut was, well, calm for the moment, Kurumi opted to take a seat while she waited for Professor Williamson to join them. Hopefully whatever the man had up his sleeves would work...Walnut seemed to be a rather special case when it came to cats - stubby legs aside.

Jack was in the desk, taking a nap, when Kurumi entered the office. Following behind her, the man put a finger to his lips and settled in behind his dog's hollowed out 'house' of sorts.

"You can set Walnut down if you'd like," he whispered to her. "Jack had a LONG morning." He'd made William chase him around the duck pond and then into the duck pond and out of the duck pond as part of his early morning exercises. Jiminey. It was a wonder the crup's owner wasn't asleep too.

But here he was, taking care of his students and their pets. Sigh. "So what seems to be the problem here?"

Oh, right, sleeping crup. Kurumi nodded to show that she understood and slowly set Kurumi down on top of his desk. Walnut immediately perched himself and surveyed the office for a moment. Nothing seemed to offend him, so he would stay right where he was and not feel the need to relieve himself.

"Walnut is getting more territorial, professor," she said with a sigh. "He...peed on Evelyn on the way to school, on the first night he peed on several first years, and he still gets....upset when people look at him funny." He had never attempted to pee on her, which was good, nor had he tried to ever pee on Selina...although he had come close to peeing on her broom once or twice. But that wasn't the point. "Someone joked that he was frustrated and just needed to find himself a girlfriend." Or would it be cat friend?

"Mhmm.....mhmmhmm...." Willy found himself nodding along and then.... nodding off the longer Kurumi spoke. He was familiar with Walnut's problems, he just didn't know why the cat (KNEAZLE?!) still HAD problems. Merlin. Couldn't Kurumi just outfit him with a few cat-sized diapers and get over his peeing problem?

He was betting the cat would stop PEEING everywhere if he were forced to sit in his own smelly pee for a few hours.

"Well," Willy yawned unintentionally, "that COULD be the case. But before we start jumping to conclusions, let's do a little experiment, shall we?" Reaching out with his left hand for the kneazle/cat/thing to sniff, Willy reached behind him with his right.

Gosh it was hard to get stuff without your dominant hand. But eventually he did have a little plastic tub of something in his hand, and then it was dangling under his desk chair.

"There there, Walnut," he talked to the cat cheerfully. "How are you doin' today, eh?"

Kurumi, unfortunately or not, was too distracted watching Walnut sniff Professor Williamson's hand and hoping that something didn't offend him with the man's scent and pee right there on his desk to notice that the man had nodded off for a moment. This tended to happen whenever Walnut was concerned. The feline just DEMANDED attention.

Walnut continued to sniff the man's hand a little apprehensively but still mildly affectionately. His day? Meh, it could be worse.

"Professor, what is that?" she asked, noticing a something of something before it went out of view.

"You'll see," Willy chirped, reaching out to pet Walnut since he hadn't growled or peed or scratched him yet. He petted the kittykneazle very gently, hopefully distracting the bright fella before he brought out his secret weapon: a tub of Sara Lee.

Noting that Walnut seemed distracted enough by the petting, Willy moved his ham hand up and popped the lid off, quickly yanking out a slice of ham and dropping it on Walnut's face like so.

Perfect. "This is what I call Stunning a Kneazle Without Your Wand," Williamson explained with an evil grin. "It's very easy. And it should work. You just have to take back the power from the cat, Kurumi. Always be sure to let him know who's in charge. YOU are. YOU are the boss of this cat. BE the BOSS."

Kurumi sort of just stared when Professor Williamson brought out....packaged ham? Kurumi had seen that in supermarkets in London, but was rather unfamiliar with the product. Were they...going to make ham and cheese sandwiches or something? How was that going to help Walnut and his peeing problem?

But then...Professor Williamson had dropped a piece of ham on Walnut's head. No, not his head...his face. Kurumi's jaw dropped and she just gawked at the scene as Walnut appeared to stumble around trying to lick the sliced ham that was on his face. Kurumi's jaw continued to hang open as she watched her cat flop over onto his back with all four paws sticking up in the air and his tail twitching back and forth.

"So...I have to throw...lunch meat at Walnut's face whenever he misbehaves?" she asked rather naively as she pointed to the feline. When Professor Williamson mentioned taking charge, or taking power back from the cat, Kurumi slouched in her seat a little. "Guess my career as a dragonologists is a lost cause," she sighed under her breath. If she couldn't handle Walnut, how was she supposed to handle dragons?

William just sat back in his seat and watched the scene before him unfold just as planned. He was rather proud of the power of the Great Ham Trick™ and it was working so nicely on Walnut that he didn't even need to touch the silly cat.

"Not necessarily every time," he shrugged, wishing he had a better solution. But really, what was better than ham? BACON. MAYBE. But no, ham was pretty powerful stuff. "Maybe you could just come up with a way to remind him of what happens when he misbehaves, a way to remind him that you can always just stun him without magic."

Be it by the use of real or artificial or conjured up ham or something else entirely, Kurumi would figure it out.... so long as she didn't give up!

Hearing her muttering, Willy tilted his head at her and motioned for her to sit up. "Cheer up now, you're just a kid. You've still got loads to learn and years of experience to earn." Besides, she was already more intelligent than he'd been at her age, so that was a plus. "You really wanna be a dragonologist though?"

He liked the sound of that!!

Now that Walnut had been...dealt with, Kurumi's shoulders relaxed a little and she wondered if there was some sort of conjuration spell that could work for this. Maybe she could use a switching spell, throw a towel at the cat but then switch it for a slice of ham? That WOULD be killing two birds with one stone, disciplining Walnut while working on her magic at the same time.

"I...have been using a spray bottle...but it hasn't been very effective." Obviously. Maybe it was a liquids thing? "I'll try a few new things. At least I know I have ham to fall back on." As weird as that sounded coming out of the sixth year's mouth, it was also a bit of a relief.

Kurumi blushed a little at Professor Williamson's next words. True, she DID still have a lot to learn....but you had to admit that not being able to handle a cat was not providing the best outlook in a future with more...complicated creatures. "It's...sort of been a dream of mine since I found out I was a witch," she nodded. "Most people look at me strangely when I mention it..." Probably because she was so small and seemingly meek. Not many pictured Kurumi Hollingberry's future career as one that involved taming dragons. "I don't really know what my options are though." Where to study after Hogwarts. What to study. What sorts of subcategories there were in the field....everything.

The Prefect who was consistently Hogwarts' top points earner thought that a spray bottle would work on her half-Kneazle? Really? Willy just sat there, shaking his head and wondering about Gryffindors some times.

"From one Magical Creatures professional to one hoping to enter the field," William answered after a moment, "you should definitely keep the Great Ham Trick™ up your sleeve and on the down-low. Don't want other professionals stealing that one." 'Other professionals' being kneazle whisperers and the like.

So! What else could he help Kurumi with, now that he'd sort of solved her cat problem? Career questions? Why not!

"Most people look at you strangely," William said kindly, "because they can see it's a dream of yours that you really, really want to achieve. You just can't listen to their pessimism." Like Oliver. If he'd listened to his best friend, by Merlin, Willy would never leave the house, much less sleep next to sick baby animals when they needed him.

So what were her options? "Well, I traveled the world for a bit after I graduated from Hogwarts, got to encounter a lot of creatures abroad, and then I ended up back here in Scotland." He shrugged. "Wizarding university is a great option to explore, so that you can further your studies and can choose which sort of creatures you'd like to study in a controlled environment."

It was also a lot safer than striking out on your own and just.... 'studying animals.' ~~Not that Willy had ever considered that option. Ahem.~~

Giggling softly, Kurumi nodded and turned her attention back to Walnut who was still flopped on his side, stunned by the piece of ham on his face. "Your secret technique is safe with me, professor." Assuming it was his technique. It seemed the sort of thing that Professor Williamson would come up with at least. The man did seem to have rather unconventional ways of looking and dealing with creatures, and that wasn't a bad thing.

Last time she trusted her father with creature advice. The man know how to work with people, seeing as he worked in International Magical Cooperation, but creatures were clearly not his forte.

Professor Williamson's next words caused Kurumi's cheeks to flush, which also caused her to slightly miss that he was being kind and trying to calm her nervousness about the matter. "I always assumed it was because people see me as being rather timid and small." You know, the opposite of what one assumed a dragonologist was. Still, Kurumi was used to people trying to push her down, it had been everyone around her outside of her immediate family growing up, so his words resonated strongly with her.

"I was thinking...that university would be a better route for me," she nodded. Kurumi just wasn't the sort to just throw herself at the wild and see where things took her. Structure. Kurumi liked that. "I know an option is Romania, to further studies concerning dragons. But I have also read about options in Norway and Brazil..." she said, trailing off for a moment. Obviously, she had an inkling as to where he would recommend she focus on when it came to applications, but it was always good to check. "I guess, I'm just wondering where I should be focusing my energy on now, where I should aim to be when it comes time to apply to universities..." And WHERE she should be applying to.

Good. Willy smiled, satisfied with that answer, and continued to listen to Kurumi. Being neither timid nor small, the Creatures professor couldn't really comment on what made a dragonologist a dragonologist. He supposed that a love of the animal and a knowledge of how to care for it would be more important than size or personality though.

Hmm so now he needed to think back to how he had applied to wizarding university, way back when he'd gone to uni. "Well, have you checked out the various locations of schools? I would pick the one that's closest to the type of dragons you want to study." Or closest to... whoever she wanted to be close to. William had studied in Edinburgh because his father had paid for his education and staying near home was part of the deal.

"As for what you should be doing now..." Willy shrugged. "I think keeping your grades up and aiming for some awesome NEWT scores is about all you CAN do. You're already one of the top students in the school, Kurumi, so I don't think it's a question of WHAT to do but rather WHERE you want to go."

He did have something that could help her answer those questions though. Willy turned around in his chair and rooted through a bunch of papers on the shelf behind him. "Here," he announced, turning back around and passing a brochure over the top of the desk. "That should help answer your questions about uni, what to do, where to apply, etc. If you have any specific questions about dragon reserves and the like, I can help you there; otherwise, Bentley," her Head of House, "can probably give you better university advice."

Shrug. He'd done good with this convo he thought. Willy nodded to himself and then gestured at the kneazle. "Anything else I can do for you today, Ms. Hollingberry?" Heh.

I am sort of more interested in breeding and hatchings," she said, her cheeks flushing slightly. "I don't know much about dragon hatcheries, but working in that sort of field - maybe even helping endangered species of dragons repopulate - is sort of the type of work I am interested in." That, and her reading about cross-breeding kneazles had got her interested in how that could be applied to dragons. It was sort of specific while being broad at the same time. She knew that a university in Norway and another in Brazil offered a rather exclusive degree on the subject.

Kurumi simply nodded her head at his next bit of advice. Just keep doing what she was doing and perhaps strive for a bit more. She was still rather haunted by that ONE E on her OWL results.

Kurumi accepted the brochure and gave it a quick look over. She would have to read it in full detail back in her room seeing as she had already taken up so much of the professor's time. "I may have questions later, when it gets closer to making a decision," she replied with another small head nod. There were still so many things she was unsure about right now, academic and not, so it was hard to think straight.

Walnut was still flopped on to his side with the piece of lunch meat on his face, bringing a small smile to the Gryffindor's face. "No, I think that is all for now, professor," she chirped. "Thank you." He deserved cookies. Lots of cookies.

Cece had been out walking for quite a while now but it wasn't helping. She was still fuming mad at the way Oliver had acted earlier when she tried to apologize to him. Maybe if she talked to William she would calm down a little. He always had a way of cheering her up, ~~even when it was him she was angry with~~.

Finding herself outside his hut she knocked on the door.

Knock, Knock, Knock

Now to wait and see if he was even in. Maybe she should have just went to the barn to look for him first.

Aww she was interested in baby dragons! Like Roro! Willy's face beamed a little, with pride mostly, pride at being able to have shown the girl her first dragon hatching. Hollingberry would be someone, or something, someday, and he would hopefully be able to say he'd helped her get there!

But anyway, it was time for her to get moving to her next lesson or whatever, so Willy nodded and stood. "You're welcome, Kurumi. I'm just glad I was able to help give you a nudge in the right direction."

He opened the door for her and saw her out, still beaming as the girl walked away. Lookithat, he was a good teacher!

William didn't know when was the last time he'd sat down in his office, especially not now that he knew his memory was kind of... shot. Putting it that way was sad, but true. He needed some time to just sit and think, so he'd just sat down in his chair, propped his feet up on his desk, locked his fingers behind his head, and closed his eyes.

Then there was a knock knock knock on the door.

Sigh. William shook his head and stood up, opening the door slowly to see if he could just dismiss whoever was there. But no, it was Cece. And he was kind of surprised to see her there, looking... hmm, worried? Mad? Sad?

"Hey," he frowned, pulling the door open. "Something wrong?" She could come in, of course, she was one of his oldest friends. His think time could wait.

Oh good, William was there. Now Cece wouldn't have to go wandering around that barn to look for him. "Hey yourself," she replied as she stepped into his office. "I hope you don't mind me stopping by." If he did, well too bad. She wanted to see how he was doing since his unfreezing... and maybe ask him a couple of things.

For now though...

"How have you been since, you know... you woke up?" She was just going to ignore his question to her right now.

Three weeks??! "Was it really that long?" Willy mused. He didn't like the sound of that at all. Already his mind was going to his dragon, wondering what valuable stages of development he missed out on. Maybe he should go check on him again....

Er, Cece was still here. Shaking his head, William wasn't sure what to say to her. "Uh not really... nothing specific, I mean. It's not like I talked in my 'sleep' or whatever, did I?" He looked up sharply. Merlin knew he had a personal life he didn't want all of Hogwarts to learn about.

As for the crazy bit... at least she was smiling, so he stopped frowning too. "Don't ever call yourself stupid, Cece, because you definitely aren't that." She'd ~~done~~ helped him with his homework, after all. "Crazy though... I could see that. I mean, you're friends with me, right?"

Heh. His teapot started whistling then, so he turned around and tapped it off, moving it to his desk and grabbing two teacups from the counter behind him too. "Sugar or cream?"

Haha, oh William was making this way too easy for her. "Well, now that you mention it, you did talk in your sleep... a bit. It wasn't much though, only you confessing your love for... me" Okay, so he never talked in his sleep, but ~~a girl could dream~~ he didn't know that.

"I'm not crazy for being your friend William. I am however as stupid as they come. Can you believe I actually went to Oliver and apologized to him for something I accused him of. For once I decided to be the better person and admit to him that I was wrong." Which was no easy task for her at all. "And what's he do? He acts like the jerk that he is and then has the nerve to blame you for the way he treats me." Merlin knows we wouldn't want him to take responsibility for the way he acts. Just blame others.

Oh, tea. Yeah, maybe she should drink some. That might help calm her down... now that she was getting all worked up again. "Sugar please."

Damn! Four weeks straight. William just shook his head, trying to think up some smart comment he could make about Vindictus' turning into Rip Van Winkle in the Hospital Wing. He ended up just sighing and pouring sugar into his teacup and some into hers too, then passing her the warm little cup.

"Weird," he commented, totally not falling for her joke as he stirred his cup. "I woke up feeling like my face has been frozen for a while, like I hadn't even BLINKED in YEARS, and yet... somehow my lips were able to move? Why don't I remember that?" He brought the teacup to his lips to cover his smirk and took a sip. "Gosh, guess it must be because... I would never confess such a thing??!? You're like a SISTER to me, silly."

He laughed and set his cup down, completely certain that Cece was joking, and accidentally woke up Jack in the process. The crup started barking from within his desk til he gave the table a good kick and the dog quieted back down again, just in time for him to hear all about another one of her confrontations with Oliver.

William almost held up his hand to say that he didn't want to hear it but her last line caught his attention. "What do you mean?" he responded quickly, leaning forward in his chair. "What do I have to do with his being a jerk?" Other than encouraging him now and then... but Willy would NEVER egg Olly on around Cece. He still held out hope that they would all be friends one day.

Taking the tea from him Cece took a sip of it as he went on about him not talking in his sleep. "Just because your eyes didn't move doesn't mean your lips couldn't. Are your eyes normally open when you talk in your sleep?" If they were then that wouldn't be considered talking in your sleep, that would be talking while awake.

Then he said those words... 'You're like a SISTER to me, silly.' The exact words every woman dreads hearing from the man she's... Eh, forget it, it's not important anymore. "Yeah, right, a sister. Good thing I was only messing with you then. We wouldn't want it to get out to the public that you're in love with your sister now would we?" Merlin forbid if anyone ever thought he seen her as more than a friend or as he put it, a sister.

Hearing the desk bark she looked at William with a raised eyebrow. "Maybe if you let him out once in a while he wouldn't make so much noise." Poor little crup, all caged up in a desk like that.

Well now, it seems Oliver's little accusation has peaked William's interest here. "According to your dear friend the only reason he treats me the way he does is because you didn't want him around us when we were together. Apparently I was going to fall for him and choose him over you so he chose to be a jerk to me all the time so I would never be interested in him and you would be happy." Setting her tea down she sat back in the chair. "Oh, and apparently you didn't like the fact that he got all the girls and you didn't get any. because as he says... Most of the girls kinda went for me over William." Jerk or not, Cece would have never went for him and his big headed self. "Another thing, don't ever apologize to him for anything because apparently that means you are telling him to be an even bigger jerk to you."

No one could ever say she didn't try to make up with him in some small way. It wasn't her fault he wouldn't let her.

"Who said talking in my sleep is a normal thing?" William's eyes narrowed at Cece a bit. Did she have strange two-way mirrors set up around his hut? Or worse, foe-glasses? How else would she know he talked in his sleep?

Hmmm. His suspicions quickly forgotten, William started laughing again at her implication about being his sister. "No waaaay," he chuckled, getting a loud YIPYIPYIP from Jack this time, but he ignored the dog AND Cece. The crup got out every morning before anyone else in the castle was awake. William knew. "We would NOT want that rumor to spread. That'd be grossss. In love with your sister? Ewwww! Haha dude that'd be like Oliver in love with Wanda. HAHAHAHA. Can you IMAGINE???!"

Hi-larous. He was getting hilarious mental images now. No way, man, no way. Ah. His laugh was cut short by Cece continuing her... rant about Oliver, and that was more than enough to wipe the smile right off Willy's face.

"First off," he started in a low tone, his brows knitting together, "we, you and me, were never 'together,' so he's just making crap up. We were friends. That was it. I never had the courage to get beyond the friend stage with ANY girl at Hogwarts, you included. So yeah, they went for Oliver. Who cares? That was more than ten years ago." That was a lame excuse even by Oliver's standards.

"Second off," Willy continued, his voice escalating as he got heated up, "what did you even have to apologize to him for? What did you accuse him of, anyway?" What could be so bad? Why did his friends always have to make trouble when he wasn't around to set them straight? Why so many questions??

Cece really wasn't finding this anywhere near as humorous as William was. And she certainly didn't think it would be gross if he was in love with her... since she is in no way really his sister. Even though it hurt to hear him say those words she decided not to comment on it. Really, what was the point? She did however comment about Oliver. "I doubt Oliver could ever be in love with anyone other than himself."

Then all laughing stopped and suddenly William was all serious. Cece just stared at him in disbelief as he went on about them never being together. He totally misunderstood what she had meant. She knew they had never been together like that, as she was sure Oliver also knew that. She couldn't believe she was about to do this... defend Oliver, but she was. "Lighten up already. I'm pretty sure he wasn't meaning it like that. He just meant when you and I were hanging out... as friends, that you didn't want him around because you were afraid I wouldn't want to be your friend anymore." Hear that William? FRIENDS! "At least that's what I think he was talking about." She still had to ask though. "Is it true, did you think I would stop being your friend if Oliver was around?" If that's what he thought then he never knew Cece at all.

Oh great, and now he's getting mad at her because she apologized to the jerk? Feeling really stupid now for even mentioning anything to William, she looked down at her hands. "I may have accused him of being the reason you ended up in the infirmary." Okay, so she did accuse him. Could you blame her though? After all, he was the reason she passed out in front of the whole school at the Opening Feast on her very first day as Healer, so of course she would assume he would do something to make William pass out.
