J.K. Rowling revealed drawings for wands that five main characters in
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will own - Harry's famous holly wand (fixed at the end of Deathly Hallows); Ron's chestnut wand; Hermione's vine wand; Draco Malfoy's hawthorne; and Ginny Potter's Yew wand. The renderings were drawn out by the play's
set designer, Christine Jones.
This confirms that Ginny (naturally) and now Draco Malfoy are featured characters in the two-part plays, that continue Harry's journey in the eighth book after
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
This really comes as no surprise since Harry and Ginny's son Albus is the title 'Cursed Child', while Draco's son Scorpius was already confirmed as part of the cast (played by actor Anthony Boyle). No word yet on which of the 34-strong cast of actors for the play actually portray Draco and Ginny in the plays. Jamie Parker will play Harry Potter himself, Paul Thorley will portray Ron Weasley, and Noma Dumezweni will take on the role of Hermione Granger.
Also, interestingly, this is the first time Ginny's wand has been revealed by Rowling, and surprisingly the wood her wand is made out of is the same as Tom Riddle's and Lord Voldemort: Yew.
