| | The Playpens
To the right of the barnyard exterior you notice the many pens sectioned and fenced holding many creatures. Housed in each of the pens are the X-XXX rated creatures, from infants to adult-sized. On a shelf immediately beside the door are dragon hide gloves and goggles. Hanging beside the gates, are pink polka-dotted colored aprons and jumpsuits (in case you want to keep your current clothes clean). On the other side of the door are temperature maintained bottles and feed that is charmed to regenerate on its own when low enough. Once you're allowed, feel free to give your hand at caring. |

| Detention with Mr. Hirase HuffleStud Knight of The Zodiac Manly Beard-Grower Cicatrice de Harry
Professor Thompson as soon as all the other students had vacated led the way for the naughty Gryffindor over to the Playpens. The air was fresh, but not desirably scented. Considering the many creatures that lived in each fence it was expected.
Walking towards the very end where the fences gradually had a change in colour. It also appeared to be absent of any creature. But the ground... not so absent of the many thick droppings. Not so nice smelling. Now where was the Gryffindor? Still with him? "Over here, Mr. Hirase."

| A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.
Kevin followed the Professor from a few steps behind towards the playpens. He stopped to look for a moment until he heard his name and he mumbled something under his breath again. He continued walking until he was close enough and had to pinch his nose close because of the horrible smell coming from the playpen beside them. During his detention with Culloden last year, there had been an horrible potions smell as well but this was different. .
He didn't need to be a Ravenclaw to figure out where this detention was going and if his thoughts were true, he didn't like it at all. "I'm NOT cleaning that up" he said in a slightly higher voice because he was still pinching his nose closed and breathed through his mouth.

One could say the benefits of working with creatures and living on a farm for an number of years, certains smells weren't as threatening to the nostrils. Not going to clean up? "I'm afraid that's not your call to make." The young Gryffindor didn't realise his own choices were severely limited in these circumstances. No matter. He had more than animal droppings to worry about.
Holding his hand out, "Your wand then Mr. Hirase." Patiently waiting, Professor Thompson's eyebrows lowering for a moment, "and release your nose already, you got time to get accustom to it." After all, holding the nose only made the smell stronger when he chose to release it.

| A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself. "I'm afraid that's not your call to make" Kevin mimicked him in an annoying tone as he folded his arms over each other and then rolled his eyes. "Why am i even having this stupid detention? i did nothing wrong!" He only trapped Eden in a bubble, big deal! he had promised he would jinx her one day and when she had jumped on him he took the chance! It was pure self-defence in his mind.
Staring at the hand, the Gryffindor let go off his nose and held his breath instead. Which he couldn't do for long and after only 10 seconds he had to breathe for air. Aweful, stinking air. He made a face but kept his hands away from his nose and then grabbed his wand.
He pushed the wand in to his hand and glared again. "If it breaks i'm telling Flailsteed!" since he was his Head of House...or..eeerr...no rather not, if he found out he got another detention he'd probably would stop helping him out. But the Professor didn't know that of course. Sooo yeah...glare, grumble, glare.

But the Professor didn't know that of course. Sooo yeah...glare, grumble, glare. As if mimicking would annoy the Professor. If anything, it gave a sort of satisfaction that anyone would even be attempting to mess with him. " Good. You can listen and remember well." His eyebrow quirked up though at his next saying. To Professor Thompson, if he seriously didn't see what was so wrong about jinxing another student in the middle of class in front of his eyes.. He was a lost cause. The anger in his face clearly suggested otherwise. Calmly Javy spoke, " You're better off putting your mind into thinking about how to get out of detention faster and staying away from it than justifying your actions." In which case, he needed to just do what was told already.
Pocketing the Gryffindor's wand once it was handed over. Pointing with his own at the lone bucket filling it with water before tossing in a rough soap bar and a rag. " Start with the fences all around. They're in dire need of cleaning." Since he insisted on not clearing the animal droppings right away? Fine. He now had their stench to deal with and his own steps to watch until he finished the fences all around the many creatures being held in each section.

That had not been the type of reaction he had hoped for. Culloden had gone so mad his face turned red when he annoyed him during detention but this Professor was totally like that Hufflepuff he had attacked in one of the rooms near the Astronomy tower. He was very dissapointed he didn't get the reaction he had wanted and have a good laugh because this was boring.
He wasn't even listening anymore while he looked around at the fences. It was all just blahblahblaaah to him. He looked at the bucket that was handed to him and took it. Wait. .. clean the fences? WITH HIS HANDS?! "Are you serious? Thats gonna take HOURS! " He complained. "What is it with you people and cleaning anyway? " and with you people he meant the Professors of course.
Moving to the fence, Kevin had decided to just go with it and that he should be lucky he wasn't locked up in a dungeon with the Headmistress like last year Which had not been fun by the way. He pulled the rag out of the water, squeezed it and let the remaining water fall back in the bucket. "oi! I don't wanna stay here till dark so you better help me out here! I cant do all these fences alone without magic!"

It was quite drab to Javy having to listen at his attempts at insulting. What was good though was that he went on ahead to get started finally.. With help? Oh no, no, no. " Then you better get started." Tick tock, time was not waiting. " You have a rag and some soap to help. If you run out of water, saliva works just as fine." Because he was not getting refills with that attitude.

"Then you better get started." Tick tock, time was not waiting. "You have a rag and some soap to help. If you run out of water, saliva works just as fine." Because he was not getting refills with that attitude. Using the rag, Kevin decided to begin at the top plank of the fence and work his way down and around. Although he was sure he wasn't getting far without the use of magic. Apart from cleaning his room...and the potions lab last year during detention he had never cleaned before.
Wait...he was serious about not helping? WHAT?! "YA! even PotionsFace helped me out and he hated me" Or he thought that he was hated but it turned out he didn't like his attitude. Whatever.
He threw the rag in to the bucket, causing some of the water to splash and spill over it. He groaned as he squeezed the rag and began to clean the fence some more. Saliva? "ewww" he made a face as he looked up at the Professor. He was weird.
Faster than he thought, he was soon done with the first plank of the fence and he used the back of his sleeve to wipe his forehead. He never thought about it because he came from a long line of pureblooded family, but this muggle work was tough. "How do muggles survive without magic?" he asked, more to himself than anyone else but whatever.
Starting with the next plank, Kevin slowly turned quiet as he focused on his task. Apart from having to look where he stepped, and sometimes having to stand awkwardly to avoid the droppings, it wasn't THAT bad. At least he was outside and he was used to the smell by now.

Good, he was finally working now. Javier watched as the student went to cleaning the fences, plank by plank even if it was at a slow pace. Whether he was actually speaking to him or not, sill serviced a response." Just like you and me, they keep working and do what is needed to be done to get by. Keep going."

| A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself. "I'm working i'm working! geez. It would go a lot faster if i had my wand" Kevin went back to cleaning the fences after listening to the man talk. The planks on the bottom was the worst though as the dirt and ...other stuff... was stuck on it and the Gryffindor made a face as he cleaned it. He didn't know how much time past but he guessed it took a pretty long time, he was finally done with cleaning the fence. Which was a good thing because he was out of water.
It wasn't perfectly clean he had to admit that as he looked around but the creatures would make a mess anyways when they got back in the field. Which made him wonder why on earth he was supposed to clean the fence when it would get dirty again?! "i wanna go now, i still have homework you know!" aka taking a nap or sitting by the fireplace in the common room.

Time did seem to go by, but Javier wasn't about to check his watch yet. Instead waiting on the progress as the fence did get cleaner... for the most part.
His face was blank when the Gryffindor made another outburst, " Then I suggest you take care of those spots you have missed." Unfortunately for him, this Professor was a perfectionist.

Oh no...was this man a perfectionist? Were he and Flailsteed best friends or something?
The Gryffindor turned back around, looking at the fence and rolled his eyes for the hundred time. "What's the point? it's getting dirty again anyways!"
But despite saying those words, Kevin did stoop down to grab the bucket. While muttering words under his breath yet again about how stupid this was. It felt light though and as he looked down he saw that the water was already gone. UUUGH!
Instead of walking to the fence he walked back to the Professor and held the bucket in front of him like a child wanting to show a toy. "I need some water or i'm leaving" straight to the point yo!

| Charms Homework 1 Post 5 Toothless - Napoleon of Crime - Gryffinclaw - Owl Emissary - Pirate Auror - DoctorDonna Surely in the playpens you could get some pretty pictures, Ben stopping them when they got to the spot that he wanted. "Maybe some creature pictures to round out the set," he suggested, to explain his choice to Angel. Not that he figured he needed much to do so, she did know he loved magical creatures...right?
There were horklumps and a pen labelled for mooncalfs, the creatures underground in their burrows at the moment and the sounds of the augerey could be heard somewhat from a distance reacting to the wintery weather much like it did to rain. Finally as Ben walked along the various pens he came across some crups. Perfect for picture taking, the jack russell look-alikes playing around in the area. The older Gryffindor lifting his camera up to his eyes and aimed it for a few minutes before finally taking the picture.
*Click*
The crups certainly reacted better than the Whomping Willow at their picture being taken, approaching the fence for a closer look. Benny let go of his camera in exchange for his wand once more with the developed picture in his opposite hand. "Alacer!" he cast with the point and tap at the picture. A moving cruppy picture with their wagging tails greeted him. Another success.

Why do it? " For the same reason we always clean ourselves despite knowing we won't stay clean for long." This was definitely worth mentioning to him.
The Professor eyed the student with his childish demand. " ..Mr. Hirase, are you a quitter?" He was almost finished, yet was throwing the all or nothing card at him. " I'm going to assume you didn't know better when I say this. If you want to have certain things done your way, you will have to ask in a 'nicer' and more calm tone. Even if you have to fake it. Otherwise, you're looking towards another day of detention as soon as you step out of here." One more earlier in the day, " Now, try again and ask me correctly what it is you need?"

He hated when that happened.
'Are you a quitter'
Those words made him frown. He suddenly thought back at that time in his Head of House office and he had said almost the same thing. And back then, Kevin had said no. Which reminded him he still needed to talk to Flailsteed but since he went all crazy and thought he was some kind of captain he didn't know what to do. The third year huffed as he shook his head. "I'm not a quitter! Okay?!"
He took a deep breath. He knew what the Professor was trying to say and he didn't like it. But....he also didn't want to have another detention. The boy looked everywhere except for at the man when after a few moments of mumbling, he finally said "Can i have some" stupid "water?" He was NOT going to say please!]

He knew EXACTLY what the man wanted and no. He wasn't going to say please. not now, not EVER...well maybe when he got older,he couldn't see in to the future although that would be totally awesome. He wondered if the Divination Professor could do tha---eeh, getting sidetracked...
With the bucket still in his hand he folded his arms over each other and glared at the Professor. "Oh come on! That had been good enough, you should be happy i even asked it nicely. No matter if i said THAT word or not" Even Flailsteed hadn't gotten a please yet since he had to say that word in order to get his hat back...and that battle had been going on for 3 years now.
But this was different. With the Astronomer, he wasn't in detention and he could leave whenever he wanted but here....He ran a frustrated hand through his hair , causing it to stick out on the right side. He then looked around swiftly, held the bucket in both hands and held it up. "I swear, if you tell anyone i'll hex you" he said, trying to sound intimidating. Well, he had hexed the History of Magic Professor before so he COULD do it. "Can...can. i " aaargh! he HATED this! "Can i p..pleeeaase get some more water?" He smiled, but his eyes were GLARING.

Javier folded his arms, still quirking his eyebrow up. He was just going to pointedly ignore his complaints since apparently it took along of mouth from the boy before anything got done. The state of the nearly cleared fences proved that. Tick tock.. tick tock..
Oh a threat to hex the Professor? He probably would've taken that seriously if you know.. the Professor still didn't have the boy's wand in his possession, making it mute. His still blank face was patient though.. and finally they were getting somewhere. " Yes, you can." Returning his fake smile before pointing at the bucket to let a small stream of water escape to fill. " And that's how you get what you want more easily." Now then, " Now would you so kindly finish where you left off on that fence."

Angel went with Benny and smiled as they came to the animal enclosure.. she wasn't that keen on animals but she knew that Benny was so she decided that she would take some pictures here.
"Great place." Angel beamed at Benny as she took out her camera now though she needed something to use as a picture, she watched as Benny took his.
*click*
Angel sneakily waited until Benny was in the frame and took one.
*click*
Angel decided she wanted one to keep for herself because it was awesome and well it had Ben in it.
"Alacer!" Angel tapped her wand on one photo. "Alacer!" Angel tapped her wand on the second photo and they were both moving this was totally awesome and Angel was enjoying herself. "Were we going now?" Angel decided Benny could decide.

| Toothless - Napoleon of Crime - Gryffinclaw - Owl Emissary - Pirate Auror - DoctorDonna Such cute creatures, even though they had to have their true tails modified to follow the law. Still, they had a lot of energy and playful to witches and wizards and now Benny had a magical picture of them. To keep once the professor returned them after the assignment was all done. "Uh huh..." he said with a soft smile, glad to see that Angel agreed with him. It was something he shared with his best friend but knew it was relatively new to his girlfriend. "So many different creatures." While the winged horse caught the most attention of Benny...and Adi for that matter, it didn't mean the rest of the magical creatures that inhabited Hogwart's menegerie were entirely overlooked.
Ben noticed the clicking and flashing of the camera but not the full focus of what the younger Gryffindor was taking a picture of. He would have likely been blushing even a little and acting all awkward. He had already been taken plenty of times since the start of the lesson on magical photography. "Probably should head back inside," he suggested, knowing it was getting a bit cold for him. So he took them back over the grounds so they could head up to the castle.

| Charms Homework #1-Post 2 dream until your dreams come true ~ Human pygmy puff
After leaving the stables, Jasmine headed over to the playpens. She wanted to see if she could find the little puffskein that she had taken care of last term. She was not sure if she would be able to find him or if he was even here anymore. If Jasmine did find the puff, she was sure that he would be a great subject for her photo.
Walking over to the puffskein pen, Jasmine began to think that this might be an impossible task. There were so many of the little critters there, she would never be able to find the right one. Well she could always photograph some of the other animals, if all else failed.
Jasmine raised her camera and prepared to shoot. Just as she was about to take the picture, she felt something bumping into her foot. Looking down, Jasmine could not believe this could possily be her guy. Clicking away, she again took several pictures. Then she picked the best one to animate. Tapping the picture with her wand, she said, "Alacer" The little puff looked good, as expected. Once she was finished, Jasmine bent down to pet her buddy. He remembered her. Was that even possible? Finally she said goodbye and promised to return later. Then it was time to go and Jasmine left the playpens.

Now then, "Now would you so kindly finish where you left off on that fence." Now he was not only frustrated and angry because of this dumb detention. Seriously, the only thing he did was put a Ravenclaw in a giant bubble. Like no one would EVER do that! But he was also embarrassed.
As the Gryffindor watched the bucket fill up with water and then rolled his eyes at his words. He WAS right , it was a lot more easier to get something. But what was the FUN in that? Personally, he liked to scare and intimidate others in order to get what he wanted. But it seemed that it didn't work on the stupid adults here. And believe him, he tried. Stupid grown ups and their....grown up ...talks.
Instead of saying a thank you, he smiled at the Professor which seemed more like a sneer , threw the rag over his shoulder and quickly walked to the fence before he could be called back. Placing the bucket of water down causing some of the water to fall out and on the ground, he dipped the rag underwater and squeezed it.
The few left over spots were all around and the third year was busy cleaning everything up until he was done with the last corner. "HAPPY NOW?!" He shouted from the other side of the field.
If he wasn't he was gonna sent a complaint to the Headmistress.

Surveying along the fences was Javier. Was he done? It took a while as he slowly, yes slowly, checking each crevice. Making sure there was no longer any sign of mildew and dirt or chips in them before finally reaching where the boy stood. He would not acknowledge the shouting from the distance, instead asking. " Tell me how you think you did, Mr. Hirase."
Straight up.

Straight up. What kind of question was that? Was this some kind of test? Say the right answer he got away from detention, get it wrong he has to clean it again? What?
He scratched the back of his neck as he looked around at the fence. "I think..." he began. Was he supposed to boost his ego and show confidence or be humble and tell he could have done better?
It didn't take long before his ego won though. "I think i did MARVELOUS" Marvelous? really Kevin? THAT's the word you choose? "But what you expect? , i'm amazing!"
Yeah, his ego had a mind of his own it seemed.
With the fence ready, or atleast he thought it was clean enough , Kevin dropped the bucket of water he had been holding and then extended his arm. "Well? my wand, i want it back" now.
