Prologue


The is another reason why Dudley Dursley could see the dementors, why the glass panels guarding the python cage at the zoo disappeared, and why Dudley got trapped behind the panel. Dudley Dursley is a wizard.

Albus Dumbledore met with the ministry and the heads of the Hogwarts houses and decided it would be best not to sent Dudley to school. He was simply too much of a dud to be accepted at Hogwarts. Not to mention the devastating affects it would have on Dudley’s muggle family, finding out that their perfect son was a wizard! And the Dursleys being the only known living family Harry Potter had left!

The sorting hat would have had a hard time placing Dudley, because he did not quite fit the persona for any of the houses. He was not cunning enough to be in Slytherin nor cuddly enough for Hufflepuff; the bravery and smarts for Gryffendor and Ravenclaw were just out of the question. Even if he was accepted to Hogwarts, he would have made Harry’s social life even worse then Draco Malfoy made it.

What Dumbledore did was place spells on Dudley so no signs of magic would leek through, most of the time the spells worked. Whenever something weird happened, Harry was the perfect scapegoat. But everything Dumbledore did was about to be reversed, and everything Dumbledore feared was about to happen.

Chapter One
An Unexpected Trio


“Salvio hexia, Repelleo Muggletum” Neville waved his wand in a arc so his spells would cover as much of the street as possible. He continued casting protective spells as he walked down the quiet street. It was twelve o’clock midnight, and Schirmish was supposed to be here waiting for Neville, with the plant in his hand. Some operative he turned out to be. Neville chose a park bench to sit on while he waited for his co-agent to show up.

Not long after, a cloaked figure slunk across the road in front of Neville's. They were carrying what looked like a small tree; but the figure was too far away for Neville to be sure. “Schirmish?” Neville called, standing up from the bench and walking towards the figure. They kept on walking as if they had not heard him. Cautiously, Neville walked behind the figure “Expelliarmus” he said. A wand flew out of the figure’s cloak, catching him off guard. He dropped the plant and it shattered into a heap on the ground. “D-don’t touch it!” yelled Neville. This was the plant he had been after, but this man was defiantly not Schirmish. “Don’t touch it” the man mimicked “why would you think I’d touch it after it’s become charged?” he gestured to the pile on the ground which was now glowing a faint but menacing green.

“What I’d like to know is what you were doing with that plant” Neville reached into his cloak and removed a badge, he held it out to the man, the way an FBI agent shows their badge to a criminal. “Neville Longbottom, dangerous plant and fungus agent”. “Is that so Longbottom” said the man, he removed his hood to reveal bleach blonde hair, and a smirk. “Malfoy?” Neville said in disbelief. Draco darted to pick up his wand and stood behind the plant as is he were guarding treasure. He aimed his wand at Neville, “Stupify!” he said. Neville was spun backwards onto the ground, he bravely stood up and cast stupify back at Malfoy. Their duel was interrupted by a dumbfounded voice “What in the name of Bloody Mary is going on here!”

Malfoy and Neville spun around to see a large man dressed in Muggle clothing. “Did you forget to cast anti muggle charms Longbottom?” Malfoy said to Neville through clenched teeth. “No, uh, I didn’t” Neville exclaimed. “You there” Draco said, pointing at the man “Are you a muggle?”. “My name is Dudley Dursley and I am not what you are calling a muggle” Dudley replied. “He has to be a muggle, he doesn’t know what a muggle is, something must have gone wrong with you’re anti-muggle spell” Draco said. “It didn’t, honest, I was very careful” Neville explained, sounding exasperated. “Then he has to be a wizard, it’s the only way he could have seen us” Draco concluded.

During their conversation, Dudley moved into the street and was picking at the charged plant. “S-stay away from that” Neville warned him, but it was too late. Dudley was zapped by a purple light and he fell onto the ground, shaking uncontrollably . “He’s either going to die, or become a very powerful wizard.” Neville told Malfoy. “I don’t think he’ll survive more then a minute” Malfoy said. Neville shook his head at Malfoy’s comment.

Dudley suddenly stopped shaking and lay still on the ground. Draco and Neville peered over him too see if he was okay. “He’s alive” Neville said “Because of the plant’s charge, Dudley will have absorbed a great deal of it’s power” Neville informed Malfoy. Dudley began to wake up, and open his eyes. “Power?” he mouthed, as if he were a character in a superhero movie. Neville explained to him what had happened, and that he had received a great amount of magical ability from the plant. “So that means I am a wizard, just like Potter. I knew it all along, but I can’t believe Potter was the only one allowed to go to that school. Why couldn’t I have gone, did they think I was not good enough? I’ll show them”.

Dudley stood up from the ground and started collecting the plant’s branches, apparently he could touch them now without getting zapped again. “Wait” Neville said “You have to learn how to control your magic. And put the plant down, I have to destroy it” Dudley didn’t listen. “No, I’m not giving you this plant back until you show me how to use my magic” Neville speechlessly protested as if he were calling himself stupid inside his head.

Draco pushed passed Neville and held out his hand for Dudley to shake. “Sounds like we have ourselves an agreement” he said with a dark glimmer in his eye “We, will teach you how to use magic”.

Stupid Draco, he hasn't learned, has he? Same thing like his father all over again, sucking up to every evil wizard he sees And I love how you write Neville, 'Dangerous plant and fungus agent', haha, awesome

Chapter Two
News



“Here’s your coffee Harry” Ginny said, sliding a white mug of coffee in front of Harry and giving him a kiss on the forehead before she sat down. Harry looked out the window for Hedwig to head in with the mail. The bird was getting really old and had lived longer then the regular lifespan for most snowy owls. Hedwig glided through the window, turning sideways like a jet so her wings would not hit the sides of the window. She dropped a daily prophet and a letter from Albus Seveus on the table.
Ginny grabbed the prophet and glanced over the front page. “Harry” she said, turning over the paper to show him “look at this, didn’t you use to live here?” He took the paper and read the headline and half of the article.

Attack on Muggle Born Wizards in Little Whinging Surry

A shocking attack took place yesterday on a group of muggle born wizards and witches. The attack came directly without warning leaving few survivors. Interviewed survivors say they were surprised someone wanted to attack them. Muggles and Muggle born’s have not received any discrimination since the fall of Lord Voldomort in Wizard War Two. This attack was believed to be the work of unknown dark wizards on the rise.

“Ha ha, I did use to live there” he said “that’s a strange coincidence”. He glanced up at Mrs Weasly’s old clock on the wall, it was time to get a move on. “See you later Ginny, I have to head out”.

Harry tried to avoid cutting through Diagon Ally as much as he could. Paparazzi and young witches and wizards would ogle at him and press for photos and autographs. He had grown used to it when he was a kid; but ever since he defeated Voldomort, he had become even more of a celebrity. Couldn’t they leave him alone for just once? A teenage boy nudged his father on the shoulder “Hey, is that Harry Potter?” he waved to Harry, who obligatorily waved back “let me get a picture to show my friends!” Harry posed good naturally for the photo, without making a fuss.

Harry walked to the end of Diagon Ally, where the telltale street sign marked the location of the designated sewage drain Harry was there to travel by. “Alohomora" he said, and the two bolts holding the grate down slowly began to unscrew themselves and fall to the ground. Harry knelt down as if he had dropped something and lifted up the grate, exposing a damp drain large enough to jump down. This one was scary, because the use had to jump right down into the hole without knowing how deep it was and with risk of hitting themselves on the ledge on the way down. Harry stood up and walked straight over the edge as if he was just going to keep on walking, the magic inside the drain took effect and Harry was transported to the ministry as if he were riding by portkey.

Chapter Three
The Turning Point

Harry landed in the atrium. Dizzy and windblown after the portkey ride, he headed for the lifts. He boarded the nearest one and pulled the lever for level two. The heavy iron gate slid shut, and the elevator rocketed upwards until it skidded three hallways ahead and stopped. As Harry stepped onto level two, one of the interns came running up “Harry, I know it’s short notice; but there’s someone waiting for you in your office” he said, “they say it’s urgent”. This was odd, clients usually came in the afternoon. But; whatever the problem was, Harry would make sure a report was filed and all the client's needs were met. “Thank you” replied Harry, nodding his head and gently smiling.

Leaning back in his chair, legs spread wide; both arms on the armrests; and a newspaper in his hand sat none other than Ron Weasly. “Ron!” Harry exclaimed, as he sat down behind the desk. He had not heard from any of his friends in months; but why had Ron come to his work and not just sent him an owl? “Harry, have you seen the prophet!” Ron said, sitting up eagerly, holding out the exact article Harry had read this morning. It was as if he were avoiding introductions and getting straight to the point. “Yes, um; I have. So what have you come to tell us about?”Harry said, turning to grab a quill and parchment to beguing filing a report. Ron continued to point at the paper “look, dark wizard attacks muggle borns” he continued. “Ron, if this is the event you’ve come to tell us about, the ministry had begun looking into it” Harry continued. Ron was not yet convinced “you don’t understand. We could go after this wizard, without the ministry. It’ll be just like old times” he said. Old times were not exactly a choice, Harry went after Voldomort because he had to; not because he wanted to go on an exploration or adventure. Ron, might be wrong.

“I don’t think so” Harry said calmly, he did not want to make his friend upset “we should catch up, I get off work at-" .“Oh come on Harry” Ron protested, he was not quite getting the message “we can catch this guy better then any official at the ministry. It’ll be you, me, and Hermione. Just like old times”. On second thought, this seemed like a good idea. Something about this case did seem like it called for the golden trio. It was similar to the quest they went on as teenagers. Whoever was behind the attack looked as though they had the same ideas as Voldomort. “Alright” Harry said “sounds like a plan”.

Hey guys!
I really want to keep working on this story; but planning it is taking too much time. I have no plan for whare the plot can go after this, and I don't have an ending in mind either!I mostly wanted to share my idea about how Dudley could have been a wizard. I had an idea for chapter four though, here's what I came up with:

Chapter 4
The Plot

Wishing more than ever that it was a cloak of invisibility, Neville put up his hood and began his escape. He could hear Draco's voice echoing instructions from the hall behind the door. Neville had only one chance, he could not let either Draco or Dudley see him. Carefully opening the door, while trying to prevent a creak; Longbottom slid into the hall.

Pressing his back against the door he analyzed the room, what would be the best route out? Potted trees lined the walls creating shadows, if he ran between these trees and the wall he's have a good chance at being undetected. Plants had always been on his side.
He sprang from the wall and ran, Draco and Dudley were so wrapped up in their magic that they had not seen him yet. When Neville got out, he'd contact the agency and they'd bust the plant from Dudley's possession. Neville could not carry it out with him without being zapped. "Crucio". A burning pain shot through Neville's body, brining him to the ground.

"Now that, Dursley was a perfect example of the cruciatus curse" Draco boated. After wincing at Neville’s pain, he turned on his heal to face back to Dudley. "Every successful wizard must master the three unforgivable curses. There will be wizards who want to go up against you, and you need to be prepared. Now, recruit wizards for your army. Your going to need it" Draco mentored.

Dudley stashed his wand in his holster. The villainous trio had found a wand for him on a cart in Knockturn Ally, nine inch hornbeam with a unicorn hair strand; surprisingly rigid. The wand had an instant attraction to him. "How do you expect me to memorize all these spells, I can barely pronounce them!" Dudley protested.
"Filthy muggle" said Draco "Don't make me test the third curse on you". The idea of having an army thrilled Dudley; but actually doing the work was where he flopped. Dudley raised his hands as if clueless and left the room.

Draco turned back to Neville who had regained his footing "Thinking of leaving Longbottom? Well remember, the potion is not complete". Neville had been helping Draco concoct a potion with the plants leaves. Only Neville knew how to make it, and Draco would not let him leave until it was finished. "When will the potion be ready?"Draco asked. Neville replied without the slightest tremor in his voice "By then next full moon". Draco glanced out the window "which is, in three days as it looks" he said, gesturing to the almost full moon outside. Once someone drank the potion, all the power of the plant would then be theirs. What Neville didn't know was that Draco was planing to re-establish the pure-blood rein, and frame Dudley as being the culprit.
