You've been caught fighting, or dueling, or both. This is the dungeon for you to learn to keep your hands to yourself and your tempers at bay. This slimey-walled and rat-infested room should teach you a lesson or two.

Puck was not pleased as she made her way into the dungeon she had been assigned to. She gulped but there was nothing there the lump in her throat would not go down as she made her way to the room and tip toed into the room. RATS SHE SAW A RAT and not a pet rat…a live squeaking food stealing would bite you if it was hungry enough rat.

“Oh god oh god oh god” she whimpered as she stepped further into the room and pulled her arms around her body. Whimpering was not a prefect like sound was it? BUT she was certain the rats were watching her eying her.

Maddox could have been here sooner but he chose not to be, instead making a trip the a certain Head of House, another stop on the second floor then another in the kitchen and even a stop off at the sign in desk to speak with the staffer on duty. He wanted to be on duty. It wasn't heavily trafficked, the man could get in some decent sleep away from everyone. Why did he make all those stops? Simple, the Charms Professor was in no rush to be locked in a room with the ill-mannered excuse for a Gryffindor Prefect that liked picking fights with Professors.

Merlin knows how long he had her in there waiting but finally the man did walk through the door and into the room. The rats were common place, nothing new since the days he'd been here.

"Your wand Miss Greyvson." He began, extending his arm to collect it. First matter of business before they could go any further.

Puck glanced over to the Professor when he walked into the room, sure she could see how…well everyone thought he was attractive but he had been so grumpy earlier. At least now she had finally taken the batch of antiallergn potion that Lux had made for her. That girl was a godsend.

He wanted her wand…oh right, she had to do this without a wand. She took a quick step over to the Professor which really it wasn’t that long of a step to get to him and handed him her precious wand. If he hurt it she probably would, even in the filth of the room, fall to her knees in tears.

She loved her wand…it was like an extension of her own arm.

He would never say it ~~because of all the effort involved~~ but handing over her wand the moment it was asked of her was already doing her some good down here in the dungeons. He could only hope the other two would be as cooperative otherwise he'd have to do something about it and that sounded like work more than anything else.

Eh.

So yeah, he had her wand now and simply tucked it in the pocket of his jacket after giving an approving nod. Naturally she would have it back when they were done here.

"I'd like to begin this little session with you telling me, very simply, why you have gotten detention. I'll ask again by the time we wrap up. We'll see if you've learned anything." Because no doubt her reason would fall under 'being ridiculously brave and standing up for a fellow student sir!' while he was looking for something more along....a different line, the actual line. Students tended to miss the point.

They always seemed to miss the point. Too wrapped up in their own little worlds.

What so she was in the creepy stank place to tell him why she had gotten detention? Why had she again…oh right Kevin. She didn’t feel like unleashing the can of awkward that was her irrational fear of closets…because that was well, awkward and so not something she wanted the Professor to know.

This seemed easy enough right?

“Alright, well I most likely got this detention for the way that I reacted in class,” she cleared her throat. Was it brave of her to unleash an honest reason? Or was that not the lion-thing to do? Really, she didn’t care if it didn’t fit her house ‘persona’ right was right and that was all that mattered really. “Although I didn’t intend for anything of what I said to come out rudely it sounded that way and that was not intentional at all, and for that really honestly I am sorry.”

Wide innocent looking nearly pleading eyes. Because she was sorry. Even if people wouldn’t believe her.

Dumpster diving in the Room of Hidden Things was the best way to describe how the Astronomy professor had spent the last hour or so, but he had found what he was looking for and THAT was what matter. However, he had not counted on how extensive the labyrinth of junk and artifacts was and, for lack of a better word, had gotten lost coming out of it and therefore was running late. A fact that had become all to apparent when he had arrived in the dungeons and seen that Maddox and his prefect were not waiting outside Dueling Dwelling.

"Sorry I'm late," he announced as he strut into the room waving an object in his hand. "Found what I was looking for though." Cue a wink in the Charms professor's direction as he offered the man a pair of earmuffs, the same earmuffs that the astronomer had hanging around his neck presently.

He threw a look of extreme disappointment towards his prefect. EXTREME disappointment - even if a part of him sort of understood and perhaps even sympathized with the girl. He had heard about the, ahem, closet threat. Whoops.

"Miss Greyvson, this is for you," he said, extending the doll towards her.

Right then.

He hadn't asked for an apology and they were going to revisit that part later but for the most part, he was pleased she understood that her reaction in class wasn't the acceptable kind. It was never under any circumstance necessary to yell in his class--the fact she'd been yelling at HIM only made it worse. For now though he said nothing, opting to simply nod and be done with this until Airey arrived. Where was the man anyway?

Ah, there he was! And look, he'd found the doll they would be needing afterall. Who knew the Astronut had use outside his own lessons? "Thank you." He said, nicking the earmuffs from him the moment they were extended. These would prove useful in a minute.

With the doll extended, Maddox figured he could move into the explanation to save on time. "We'll be doing a little simulation." In case that wasn't obvious...it probably wasn't. "You will be the Professor, Miss Greyvson and I would like you to deal with a difficult student." The doll, he meant the doll. "This student doesn't seem to understand the correct way to address a student." Maybe she'd get the gist. "Go right ahead." And with that he slipped his earmuffs on in anticipation for what he knew would be coming in a few moments.

OOC: You can have her interact with the doll however please do not RP the dolls reactions.

Puck was standing there as calmly as possible when Professor Flamsteed arrived…oh, he had a doll for her? That was so nice of him even if it looked like one glance from it could peel the siding off of a prefab home.

“Th-thanks” she stammered out as she was practically shell-shocked at the state of creep the doll was in. Really? Had the toymaker wanted to instill Victorian penny dreadful fears in the hearts of every girl and lets face it, boy that ever laid eyes on the unfortunate thing. She would call it creeperella, seeing the earmuffs screamerella might have been more fitting of name.

She carefully extended her hand out for the door and gingerly picked it up. Maybe she’d have to call the doll Kevin then? She thought as she listened to Professor Quigley’s introduction. So she was supposed to pretend it was a class? HELLO the rats were obviously the other students the ones that paid attention and worked well. She set the doll standing on the ground near where the rats had been converging earlier.

The rats were squeaking of course so this…she was using it as acting lessons right? Acting and learning how to behave like a Professor…and a Prefect maybe right? Rat student was just sitting there trying to blend in obviously. “Excuse me Creeperella, what seems to be the matter?” She asked in as kind of a manor as possible without breaking into laughter…not honest this is hilarious laughter of course but this is really weird and I’m talking to a doll laughter.

Obviously the doll wouldn't respond because this was...wait, this...no Creeperella was going to be Screamerella right?

The words spoken to the doll went unheard thanks to the earmuffs courtesy of Airey however when the doll started moving about, he knew it had set into its work.

Once again, the Professor shuffled his earmuffs to make sure there wouldn't be any gaps for sound to enter because this would likely not be good on anyone's ears.

The doll settled and its glossy eyes stared unblinking up at the girl in the eerie silence that followed her hollow words. Was that an attempt. It wasn't much. Suddenly the doll's mouth fell open and the voice that spilled out sounded uncannily like that of the Prefect herself as it repeated the words uttered earlier in the class. "Excuse me Professor, but what right do you have??? WHAT RIGHT DO YOU HAVE? WHAT RIGHT DO YOU HAVE???"

Puck was about to say something else when she heard the doll’s voice…that was…high pitched right? But like her and LOUD it had to be her voice. Had she really sounded like THAT? She thought and glanced at the doll and the earmuffed Professors but really, she hadn’t been nearly as loud as Creeperella McScreamsallot was right now.

The doll had creepy eyes. Why not act just as Professor Quigley had in class, she thought as she squared her shoulders as much as humanly possible and lowered her gaze as the glossy eyed thing.

”STOP right now,” she snapped at the doll – wait had she just yelled at a doll? “Miss Screamsallot you will speak to me in a quiet respectful tone – if not I will remove housepoints, and send you to detention.” She was speaking firmly at the doll really, REALLY firmly but not yelling because that wasn’t needed was it?

The doll seemed to settle after the Prefect spoke. Glossy eyes fixed and all movements stopped. Had it worked? Did the stern words quell the disrespectful student?

NOPE.

"WHAT RIGHT DO YOU HAVE TO GIVE A STUDENT DETENTION??? YOU CANNOT TOUCH OUR HOUSE POINTS THEY ARE NOT YOURS!!!"
The doll began parading around as if in some form of a tantrum now as it yelled.

"NO right! NO RIGHT!! YOU HAVE NO RIGHT!!! YOU CANNOT DO WHAT YOU SAY YOU WANT BECAUSE YOU HAVE NO RIGHT PROFESSOR!"

This doll was actually kind of hilarious because well, she wasn’t a Professor and as a Prefect well…she couldn’t remove points yeah? But she didn’t let the humor play on her face or in her eyes.

The doll was moving around and throwing a tantrum – hello that was NOTHING like how she had acted in class. Really, c’mon now Quigley giving Tantrum doll to the girl who had simply questioned the right of throwing a person into a closet…and more than that, unconscious.

“As a Professor I have the right to deduct points, and it is your responsibility to speak kindly to others.” She spoke in a stern and powerful voice. “Now, if you don’t stop acting like a toddler there will be repercussions and I do not mean that as a simple threat as I will act on them.” She was now lowering herself so she was closer to the doll.

“IF you do not stop yelling I will personally turn a blind eye if Chompers the rat over there decides to…lets just say bite you?” She tried to match the ferocity that Quigley had shown when talking to Kevin. “And, if you do not listen to that well how about this? I will personally remove ever hair off of your little head one by one with my fingers including those beautiful eyelashes of yours.” She threatened and with the look she was giving the doll it was obvious she would act on what she said.

Despite not being able to hear anything above a mumble and a few muffled sounds, Maddox was paying keen attention to the interaction between the doll and Miss Greyvson. Sound was not necessary to understand the frustration that could come about from dealing with the animated object and he trusted that even the Prefect was beginning to get the point.

Maybe the doll thought she did too but he couldn't be sure; no sound and all that.

The doll stopped tantruming about the room the moment the Prefect began saying the magic words. There were a few of them and the girl might not have been aware of them but there they were. The doll's volume went right down. "Professors have rights? What rights? Professors have no right. None. No right. No right. No right."

Maddox took a real chance in lifting an earmuff, but the muffled sounds had ended and he was curious to know whether that was as a result of the Prefect finally saying something right.

Huh. The doll had stopped screaming. The girl was on the right track afterall. He would keep the earmuff at ready, however, in case she suddenly messed up and another screaming spell ensued.

Puck was watching the doll carefully as it stopped throwing its tantrum. Something had to have been said right? Sure her ear was buzzing slightly from the sound of its screams – and well, she did notice the slight movement from near the doorway when the Professor was…well, moving his earmuff?

What had she said that made the doll quiet? She wondered and stood there for a minute. The doll’s words sort of cued her in to the premise of what it was asking for. She lowered her voice just so and spoke sternly. “Correct Screamerella, Professors have rights.” Puck was thinking maybe…maybe she had to go into the rights that Professors have?

“As…a Professor I would, and do, have the right to evict you from my class until such a time that you show not only me, but your classmates respect” sure she was reciting rights but she was also thinking about her actions and about the rights of Professors still…because really closets, being locked in closets was not right at all…right? “If you as a student continue to be rude and disrespectful I will act on my rights and privileges as a Professor and report you, the student, to the headmistress.” Merlin she sounded all official and boring and yeah, was this doll done with her rants.

“I have rights. Professors have rights.” She spoke, and then standing from her somewhat kneeling position she spun began to pace back and forth for a moment. “As a Professor I will not threaten to throw my students into closets Creeperella, you have my word. And as a Professor I will keep to my word.” She was making a promise to a doll? Or was she making an actual career decision?

“Professors…Professors have rights too…” if they had the right to threaten students that was something SHE would not accept at all. Nope. Not at all, she’d even go to the Minister of Magic about that one…threatening people wouldn’t garner their respect would it?

He was still here, just sort of off in his own world thanks to his earmuffs. He was just the prop master for this detention anyway...and making sure that Maddox didn't ~~intentionally~~ unintentionally send one of his Gryffindors to St. Mungo's for whatever reason. Oh yes, and there was the obligation that this was one of the house's prefects receiving detention.

Despite jamming out to the song he had enchanted his earmuffs to play, drumming on his leg and snapping his fingers included while tossing in a few head bangs here and there, he was giving Miss Greyvson the rest of his attention and watched the visual cues that something was working and something was getting through to her.

Huge sideways smile as he reached the bridge of the song, he turned towards Maddox and threw the Charms professor two enthusiastic thumbs up.

"LOOKS LIKE IT'S GOING WELL!"

The Prefect had been going fine, til she took on the condescending tone as she spoke about threats--also well within his right mind you but he couldn't be bothered to say as much when he could just ignore her.

Ignoring was easier when Airey suddenly yelled causing him to wince and smack the earmuff back against his ear. Hello headache. With a scowl, Maddox reached over to lift his former house mate's earmuff. "You trying to burst my ear drums or what?" Circe. "You can take this off." Maddox slipped his own off after that and summoned the doll.

"That will be quite enough Miss Greyvson." Seriously. Give it a rest.The Charms Professor handed the doll back to Airey, no questions asked about why he had this, none. "I like to think by now you've gotten the gist so I'll ask you the question I asked you earlier. Why did you get detention? I'm also curious to know what this has taught you."

Professor Flamsteed was loud right? But what he had said made her ~~smirk~~ smile, only slightly. It was going well? So she kind of figured as much with the Creeperdolly no longer creepering her way around the room.

Still, she was just glad to do done with the annoying little thing. Really, it didn’t even sound like her, its voice was all…high pitched and girly and hers well hers was not…or was it?

Puck turned her attention toward Professor Quigley when he summoned the doll and well, he was talking to her. Why was she here? AND what it had taught her?

She took a deep breath, exhaled and looked from Professor Flamsteed to Professor Quigley before even trying to speak. Was that a started look in the Prefects eyes….maybe? Maybe she had a newfound fear of talking dolls? Who really knew?

“Before Professor Flamsteed came in I believed it was because of my tone of voice when the closet threat happened” she mentioned as clearly as possible her voice almost seemed to be void of all emotion. “Still, I believe it is a mix of over reacting in class as well as my tone in class…” it wasn’t intentional…well not fully. “I am however also questioning if it, because of this detention is more about the fact that I questioned your authority,” she admitted because really it was the authority wasn’t it?

She knew or well, she thought she knew what the Professor wanted to hear as her answer to what this taught her. So she gave it a whack. “Honestly this taught me a few things really,” she admitted a small smile in place.

“Firstly – that it seems that it is really annoying when people don’t listen and follow rules in class. Therefore I should have followed your classroom rules on not being loud,” she admitted, took a breath and kept going because really she had learned a few things hadn’t she? “Secondly, not to ‘question’ authority?” She admitted even though really, sometimes wasn’t questioning authority how change happened?

Know what? That sounded good enough for him. The Prefect looked sincere enough and the scenery was getting old fast so Professor Quigley was all too happy to give a nod of confirmation. "Very good Mister Greyvson. I hope you will take this into my future lessons and those of other Professors too, especially given your role as a student leader."

That had been the worst part perhaps, the fact that she should have known better. "Though you are still a student you should be on our side. You've been set to help keep control and that can hardly happen after I've asked a student to settle and you begin telling me I have no right. They provide conflicting messages, do you see that?" Surely she had and if not she must by now know how frustrated he had been during that lesson so...

"I think that's about it, you're free to go." With that the door slowly creaked open. "Hurry back to your Common Room, it will be curfew soon." And she had to help ensure the lions were all accounted for.

Oh it was over? Was she beaming, no not on the outside but on the inside she was ALL smiles. The scenery needed a change didn’t it? And well she was glad that was happening.

“Of course Professor I am sorry for undermining you, it was not my intent” she admitted and nodded to him when he brought up being on their side, she was usually wasn’t she? Except with closets. “I understand that my actions were uncalled for,” she nodded and moved toward the door.

“Professor I don’t mean to sound rude or demanding but would it be possible to have my wand back incase I do run into any students where they obviously shouldn’t be?” She asked carefully as she didn’t want to well provoke him and a student leader without a wand sounded…foolish didn’t it?
