What happens when two people who barely know each other are put on a blind date courtesy of their best friends? Is it a success or a total disaster? What becomes of the two after when they see each other in classes and around the castle? These questions concerning the fate of Gryffindor Franklin Paton and Slytherin Hadleigh Lynch and more will be answered here as they discover more about each other and themselves and make a great leap into the unknown.

Text Cut: Timeline

The following is a timeline of key events concerning Frankie and Hady up to the current IC timeline to help us keep things straight OOC. These moments appeared in the Hogwarts RP or came to be during our OOC conversations. The moments role-played in this thread are meant to make some of the things we discussed come to life and explore our characters and their relationship further.

2088

January: Frankie and Hady meet each other for the first time outside the RoR ; Hady mentions in passing to Maggie in the Slytherin CR that she has a crush on Frankie

February: Valentine's 'date' at Three Broomsticks ; they awkwardly bump into each other ; the two avoid/don't speak to each other

March: Prof. York summons the two for a meeting ; they begin Animagus research together and start talking on a semi-regular basis

April: brew the animal potion together (discuss Frankie's recent birthday, Maggie and Zeke, other stuff that Prof. Culloden walks in on and cuts short) ; test the potion out on the grounds

May: more Animagus theory research ; test out another animal potion

Scene 1: The Setup

Three Broomsticks, Hogsmeade
February 14, 2088

When Hady Lynch let slip that she had a crush on Frankie Paton and wanted to get to know him better to Maggie Traulton, the gears started to turn. Not wanting her friend to be alone on Valentine's, Maggie hatched a plan with boyfriend Zeke Browne to play matchmaker on behalf of their single roommates. On the day before Valentine's Day, the duo separately told their roommates to meet them at the Three Broomsticks promptly at 1 o'clock in the afternoon. Neither Hady nor Frankie know that their friends are setting them up on a date.

Valentines Day. It was a day of the year he cared very little for until now, but somehow actually having a GIRLFRIEND made all the difference. Because TECHNICALLY... it was International Snogging Day, right? With a pep in his step, and a gorgeous-as-always Maggie under his arm, Zeke enjoyed the casual stroll down Hogsmeade's Main Street until they found themselves in the warmth of The Three Broomsticks.

They were early. They HAD to be early, plans were just easier this way.

"Where should we sit?" he asked, not bothering with the table settings as much as he was bothering with her. Planting a kiss on her lips first before planting a couple more on her cheek leaving her mouth free to do that talking thing if she so wished. Maggie was the mastermind behind this whole set-up, all he did was give Frankie an invitation and so he was coming along for the ride like the others.

Maggie was EXCITED!

Like, 1) it was Valentine's Day, 2) she actually had a boyfriend to show off ON Valentine's Day and 3) this whole matchmaking thing was going to be awesome. She was so altruistic. She was the best. She was doing all this for love. And so she had a pretty cool story to tell on their wedding. The story of how she, Magdalena Natalie Traulton had brought them together.

It was going to be glorious.

Once inside the Three Broomsticks, Maggie immediately started looking around for a free booth. Only it was pretty hard to do that when she had a boyfriend in her face. Not that she minded. Although her eyes kept flicking over to that booth she'd spotted. Worried someone else might steal it she reached up to put her hands on his cheeks and hold his head in place, then placing a lingering kiss on his lips. They could do more of that later, though. After her plan had worked.

"Over there." She eventually said, grabbing his hand and dragging him over to a booth a little to the side. Hopefully neither of the other two would be late. Preferably they'd arrive at the same time so she'd only have to explain her plan once. Although it would probably be quite obvious. Hopefully.

Genius, right?

It was the fourteenth. Of February. February fourteenth, also known as Valentine's Day to most if one was being exact. To Hady though it was just another day. A day that had her outside in the cold heading towards The Three Broomsticks. If it wasn't for Maggie telling her to meet her here today she would gladly be somewhere else far away from all the couples.

So it was with slight confusion as to why her fellow Slytherin wanted to meet here then be out somewhere with her boyfriend. Yeah, Hady hadn't even asked why and well now it was to late. Reaching the agreed place she pulled a hand from the pocket of her coat and tugged the door open stepping into the warmth of the of the Three Broomsticks just before one o'clock. Brushing a strand of hair from her eyes she tucked it behind her ear all the while her hazel eyes scanned the place for Maggie.

It didn't take long to spot the blonde or the person with her. Well this was going to be weird. If Maggie was here with Zeke...on Valentine's Day then why was SHE here too? Why hadn't Maggie just said he'd be here as well?

Hady couldn't just turn around and walk back out could she? Come up with some reason on why she couldn't come later on? Probably not. Exhaling quietly she pushed aside any oddness of this situation and walked over to the booth that her friends were occupying. "Hey Maggie, Hi Zeke I didn't know you were joining us," she greeted with a slight smile as she slid into the booth across from them both. Her comment wasn't meant as anything bad, so she hoped it hadn't come across that way. She just hadn't expected him be here as well was all.

Ugh. Valentine's Day. The holiday and it's lovey-dovey atmosphere left nothing but a bitter taste in Frankie's mouth. Everyone was so excited to be receiving Valentine's, chocolates, flowers ... whereas the blond had been doing his best to avoid the topic altogether. He had no reason to celebrate on a day like today. In fact, he had every intention of roaming around the castle, staying clear of Hogsmeade and all of the couples that were going to be roaming about there. At least those were his plans until Zeke insisted that he show up at the Three Broomsticks for a round of butterbeer.

He did find it a bit peculiar that his roommate wanted to meet him at the pub on the lamest holiday ever. Weren't you supposed to spend the entire day snogging your girlfriend? As Zeke had one of those, Frankie couldn't help but feel that something was up. He just couldn't figure out what.

But butterbeer was involved. And he hadn't said anything about Maggie being there or anything like that. There was nothing to be suspicious about, right?

At a minute past the agreed time, the blond entered the meeting place, brushing snow off his hair as he glanced over the crowd in search for Zeke. He surprisingly found the fellow fourth year in a booth not too far away. But he wasn't alone. Two girls were sitting with him... Oh.

For a moment Frankie thought about turning around and leaving. But he knew that one of them likely had their eyes on him the moment he walked in. So he slowly made his way to the booth. "Hello, Zeke. Maggie. ... Hady," Frankie said as he stood at the edge of the table, making sure to avoid looking at the empty spot at the booth. He shot the boy a look. "I wasn't aware that we'd have company." What was going on? Why were Maggie and (especially) Hady here?

He was hoping her hands on his face meant he couldn't part his lips from hers... but apparently not, because before he knew it Maggie was dragging him over to a booth. Zeke approved though, because snogging in a booth was nicer and snogging standing up. Sliding in after her, he placed an arm along the back of the booth around her shoulders, his other hand finding her knee and squeezing it gently.

But before he could continue where they left off, a voice had him looking up. Hady was here already?!

"Hey!" he greeted with perhaps too much enthusiasm. Zeke shrugged, "It's a public venue," he supplied as his answer. There was no reason why he SHOULDN'T be here, with his GIRLFRIEND on Valentines Day. Made perfect sense to him. But then he was technically here to meet with Frankie, or so was the unofficial plan. And speak of the devil...

"Frankie," Zeke returned his dorm mates greeting, a grin stretched thin across his face. THIS WAS BRILLIANT... and rather amusing. "You gonna sit or what? She doesn't bite... much," he gestured to the spot beside Hady - doing his best not to wiggle his brows in the process. Why did they BOTH have to question the fact that they had 'company'? Hmm? He looked to Maggie now. He got Frankie here, his job was done.

Once seated Maggie put her hand over his and, too, gave it a squeeze. An excited squeeze. This was happeniiiiing. This was going to be awesome. Hopefully they would both show. If either Frankie or Hady had decided that they weren't coming today the whole plan would-

AND THERE THEY WERE!!!!

Right on time. "Hiiii." She grinned at Hady, then at Frankie (yes, she'd spotted him right away, don't even TRY to run, dude). The latter of the two she hadn't really interacted with but she'd trusted Zeke's judgement. This was going to be FUUUUUN! And she wanted to hear all about it later. Like, she was going to force it out of Hady if she had to. She owed her.

Resisting the urge to clap her hands, Maggie nodded along to Zeke's words. "Yes. Sit. Don't be rude." Gosh Frankie. She couldn't quite keep the smirk from her lips so eventually she stopped trying. "What a coincidence we all run into each other here, right?" Her expression clearly suggested that it was anything BUT a coincidence, though. Heh.

"Is it really? I had no idea," Hady teased lightly in response to Zeke. She was in a good mood today given the fact that it was a day all about couples. Taking her time opening the buttons on her coat and slipping it off she then folded it nicely setting it on the seat beside her. It was a little warm in here so the coat was needed anymore thankfully.

Before Hady had a chance to say or do anything more someone else joined their table causing her to pause. Frankie. What was he doing here? Nearly instantly her eyes shifted to Maggie and she gave the girl a curious look before looking back at the blonde boy. "Hey," she greeted simply in return to his greeting. Yes she'd noticed the slight pause between Maggie's name and hers. Not that she cared at all but she had noticed it.

Zeke's comment made her smirk and she shrugged. "How would you know if I do or not?" Hady glanced at her friends and laughed. Maybe she did bite. It's what snake's did when they felt threatened. But then Maggie went and said that... a coincidence huh? Something was telling her this was anything but that. However being Hady she slid over a little bit more making more room for Frankie to sit down, her eyes meeting her dorm mates with a questioning look. One that clearly stated that she wanted to know what was going on here.

Come on Maggie spill it. What exactly are you trying to do here?

The smirks planted on Zeke and Maggie's face made him wonder what exactly they were up to. Nothing was adding up in Frankie's mind. He was still trying to figure out what Maggie and Hady were doing there, when it was just supposed to be two bros hanging out. But those grins... Zeke and Maggie were up to something. He was obviously the guinea pig here. Though what was Hady? Was she in on this or guinea pig like him?

He couldn't help put snort when Zeke made the comment about Hady not biting. His mouth opened to question his assumption, but Hady spoke for him. The boy nodded at the words she said. How would he know if she did or not? Frankie was willing to bet a handful of galleons that she was a biter. She was a snake after all.

In spite of the biting comment, Frankie took off his coat and sat down next to Hady. Though not too close. And then Maggie spoke. Were they all there by coincidence? The blond gave Maggie a suspicious look. There was nothing coincidental about this situation based on that expression of hers. She seemed a bit too happy about the whole ordeal.

"Coincidence. Right," he murmured, his eyes flickering from Maggie to Zeke and back to Maggie. Well...? Why were they all here?

Awkward, they were being totally awkward. He was beginning to doubt Maggie's plans, BUT, it wasn't his problem, and as for Hady questioning what he knew... he shrugged. "We're friends, I know your bite." Like he had implied, she didn't bite often, but she was capable of it. Or did the 'much' go unnoticed? It mattered little to him either way, and with Frankie finally sitting there was no reason to dwell on such things. All that mattered right now was that he could spend most of his day with Maggie, preferably with busy lips and without company, unless they didn't mind watching, in which case he was fine right here.

The 'coincidence' had him smirking. "Huge coincidence," he agreed, "had no idea you two would be here," he gestured to Hady, though his eyes were locked on Maggie's.

As far as he was concerned, it was all up to Maggie now, he didn't know what to say or do. Awkward was awkward, but their efforts would be wasted if the two opposite them didn't talk, or didn't not talk. Mmhhmm.

"Drinks?!" he asked, his gaze moving round the booth before landing back on Maggie. They could leave, yes?

Maggie's hand tightened around Zeke's a little at the biting comments from both him and Hady. She didn't say anything though, simply continued to smile sweetly at both Frankie and Hady. All good. They'd be leaving soon anyway. Which was why she hadn't even taken off her coat yet, unlike the other two.

Speaking of leaving, she really hoped Zeke had a plan for today.

As for now, it seemed that neither Frankie nor Hady bought that them meeting each other here was a coincidence. Which didn't matter. Maggie hadn't even been trying that hard to make it seem as such. It was only about getting them both here at the same time. Which they'd accomplished. Kudos to herself.

Smirking at the other three, Maggie took a moment to simply look incredibly pleased with herself. When Zeke asked if they wanted drinks, she raised her eyebrows at the other two. "You two should get something." Only a suggestion. She wasn't trying to boss them around or anything. Okay, maybe a little.

To make sure they thought they had the power of free will, Maggie then turned and - without prior warning - kissed Zeke right then and there, even half-crawling onto his lap in the process. After a few moments of keeping that up, she stopped, had the audacity to look a little embarrassed (not that she was) before tilting her head at Hady and Frankie. "You don't miiiind if we, like, go somewhere else right?" Somewhere a little more private and stuff.

They didn't want them around now, right? Like, who liked hanging out with a PDA-loving couple?

The biting comment was enough in itself to make Hady laugh. Not to mention Zeke claiming to know 'her' bite and then the look on both Maggie and Frankie's faces. Rather then reply to this with the comment that was currently working it's way through her mind and knowing the strange looks it would receive she said nothing at all.

Hady made sure there was space between herself and Frankie, even going so far as she scoot over more. This was becoming awkward enough as it was without being sat so close to him. No offense or nothing to him but yeah she had her reasons.

This while coincidence thing she wasn't paying it. Not for one second. Just the look on her friends faces said it all especially Maggie's. In fact this whole set up just screamed Maggie's name at her. The mention of getting drinks only seemed to clarify that whatever this was Zeke knew about it too. He knew what was happening here and he hadn't told her.

And then this was happening. Something about her and Frankie just getting drinks and then the snogging of her friends across the table. If one could even count what was going on as just snogging. Hady handled it well really and rather then watch the two lovebirds gave a sideways glance towards the boy sitting beside her. Yeah if this wasn't strange enough before it was now.

Ignoring the situation was somewhat easy until her fellow snake said that. Say what now Maggie? Uh, yes she did mind! In fact she minded very very much! You don't tell someone to meet you somewhere and then want to leave them there with someone else unless you were...

Ah gosh dangit!

Now it made sense. The exact time to be here. The fact that is was Valentine's Day. The coincidence that the boys just so happened to be here. Yeah no. Maggie was soooooo going to hear about this later on when she returned to the dorm. If Frankie wasn't blocking her she'd have gotten up and left already. This really wasn't going to end well.

Hady blinked at her friends without answering, simply tucking a lock of brown hair back behind her ear. This so wasn't what she had in mind at all.

This was incredibly awkward. Zeke was commenting that he knew Hady's bite. Maggie was grinning at him and Hady from the other side of the booth. And Hady was, well, Hady. What in Merlin's beard happened to the original plan? You know, the one where he and Zeke were just hanging out for a bit over a mug or two of butterbeer?

But slowly, piece by piece, things were starting to add up. The sudden want to meet at the Three Broomsticks ... on Valentine's Day ... with surprise company ... things just happening by 'coincidence' ... the suggestion that he and Hady should go get drinks ... and the awkward space between him and -- were they seriously snogging right in front of them?!

"Seriously?" the blond groaned, kicking Zeke's shin even though the lip-locking was obviously Maggie's doing. "Do you have to do that now?"

He then snuck a quick peek at Hady out of the corner of his eye. Clearly she was having just as much fun at this little get-together as he was. Frankie did notice her hair tucking and sudden silence. She must have known just as much about this whole ordeal as he did. His eyes shifted back to the couple, shooting daggers at them. Not cool, guys. Not cool at all.

And then Maggie asked if she and Zeke could go somewhere more private. Frankie's fist clenched into a tight ball, though it remained right by his side out of sight of the two across the table. What was the point of them dragging him and Hady all the way out here if they were just going to snog and then ask if they could leave after going through the trouble of setting whatever this was up? Some friends they had. Zeke was definitely going to get a mouthful about it later. Maybe a good hex or two as well.

"Stay. Go. I don't care. I'm leaving." Frankie then scooted out of the booth without saying another word, though there were plenty of thoughts exploding in his mind. He snatched his coat and walked to the other end of the pub, where he ordered a Butterbeer to warm himself up with before trudging back to the castle through the cold and snow.

If he'd said something wrong, he didn't know it. All he knew was that Maggie was suggesting the others get drinks, and then she was snogging him. This worked. This worked just fine with him.

Responding to her half crawling into his lap, a hand found its way to the back of her neck, keeping her face glued to his while he relaxed into the kiss. Take note, Frankie, this is how it was done. He didn't hear his room mates exclamation, but he certainly felt the kick in his shins, and an "OW!" was muffled against Maggie's lips. It was worth it. He'd have been all too happy to continue too (because it WAS Valentines Day after all) but Maggie pulled away, conscious of their company. Was this part of her plan? He was happy to be her pawn if it meant he'd get more.

Not needing any words to agree with her, he nodded. Privacy was in all of their best interest, even if he was comfortable as they were. The look on Hady and Frankie's faces were quite something though. Were they not pleased to see them happy? That's a shame.

What's more, Frankie was being a right downer about the whole thing. "Naw, c'mooooon!" he called out after his friend. No doubt he'd be hearing about this later. The only question that remained was, now what?

An arm around Maggie's shoulder, drawing her into his side, Zeke shrugged in Hady's direction. Whoops?

Maggie was in fact well aware of the reactions coming from the other two. Apart from Frankie's kick obviously. Which was why she was somewhat surprised by Zeke's 'ow' but used to brief break to stop the snogging. Was it enough to make them uncomfortable? Just in case, Maggie moved slightly so she was sitting on Zeke's lap now, sideways with her arms around his neck.

They couldn't be mad at them for being in looooove right?

Too much? Maybe?

What she hadn't expected (but maybe should have) was that Frankie stormed off. Gosh. Drama queen much? "I like him." Maggie commented with a smirk towards Hady before looking after the gryffindor boy. Hmm. Okay. This wasn't exactly how she'd planned it. Now, how to fix this.

Eyes still on the blond, Maggie hopped off Zeke's lap on the other side so she could slide out of the booth. "I'll get him back." Yup. And with that she swiftly followed Frankie. "Heyyyy, don't leave." She tilted her head slightly to the side and pouted. "It's Valentine's Day." Which in itself was a great argument, no? Maggie thought so.

"Pleaaaaaase?"

This was just all types of wrong. On so many more levels then one too. When she had agreed to this it was supposed to be just her and her fellow Slytherin meeting for a warm butterbeer and talking like girls do. No offense Zeke but you weren't supposed to be here and Frankie you most certainly weren't supposed to be here either!

It could've been okay if they all intended on having a drink and just chilling but no. Clearly that wasn't the intention here and Hady wasn't happy about it. As if to make it worse there was the whole snogging thing happening from across the table, not that it bothered her because it didn't. In fact she was happy for both her friends but Hady was smart and she knew there was more behind their kiss then it just being a kiss. However the 'ow' from Zeke she didn't quiet get.

Then Frankie was up and leaving. Great. Just great. Yes she wasn't happy about what she now knew was supposed to be happening after putting it all together herself but that didn't mean she wanted him to leave. Even if she completely understand his reason and felt very much like doing the same thing. Only she didn't. Remaining exactly where she was her eyes dropped down to the table as she fiddled with her butterfly locket. She heard Maggie speak and registered what she'd said but all she was thinking right now was 'Just leave him alone and let him go'. If Frankie didn't want to be here then he didn't have to be.

Could she please leave now too?

It didn't take long for a mug of Butterbeer to meet with his lips. This, the warm butterscotch beverage, was so much better than sitting across the table from a hyperactive couple that thought it was cool to suck on each other's faces in front of their single friends. Frankie understood that that was what boyfriends and girlfriends did and that it was Valentine's Day, but some control and self-restraint would have been nice. Especially since they were the ones to hatch up the plan of hanging out and enjoying Butterbeer -- an activity he, due to circumstances, was doing solo.

Quite irritated with what had just happened, the blond hadn't thought twice about looking back at those he left behind in the booth. Maggie and Zeke were not on his good side at the moment due to their snogging. He still didn't quite understand why they wanted him and Hady there... Speaking of Hady, did she escape?

He then felt someone's presence. Setting his mug down on the counter, he half expected the dark-haired Slytherin to slip into the empty seat beside him. Having been personally victimized by Maggie and Zeke, they'd have something to justify why Valentine's Day was such an awful holiday and plot how to get back at their so-called friends. Frankie's mouth opened to say something, but it quickly closed when he realized that it wasn't Hady.

Oh. Maggie. Err ... hi?

The Gryffindor stared at her blankly. Her pouting wasn't working on him in the slightest. He did snort when she basically asked him to return to the booth, using it being Valentine's Day as a reason for him to go back. Fat chance, Maggie. Fat chance. "I'm doing just fine over here. Away from snogging couples." He looked past her shoulder to quickly see what Zeke and Hady were up to. "You better go back to Zeke. He looks lost without your face to suck on." As for Hady, well, she clearly didn't look like she wanted to be there. But there was nothing he could do about that.

Maggie's taste in people was sometimes questionable - not because of WHO she liked, but more WHY she liked them. Naturally he wouldn't question it out loud, considering he was among the top on her list (or at least he hoped he was among the top of her list). He remained sitting casually as she climbed over him to follow after Frankie... dude could be such a dork sometimes, heh. He needed to chill. Snogging was a beautiful thing.

Shrugging his coat off - seeing as they might stay longer than necessary - Zeke placed it on the seat beside him and turned his gaze to Hady before looking over his shoulder to spot Maggie hopefully convincing his room mate to get his act together.

"How've you been anyway?" he asked, making general chitchat his eyes back on the Slytherin across the table from him.

No reaction to her pouting? Nothing? Nada? Well gosh, Frankie, someone was stubborn. Maggie could be stubborn too though. WAS in fact. All the time. There was hardly anything she wanted that she didn't get. Hardly anything. There may be one or two things but the majority of the time things did go her way. So, stubbornness really wasn't going to get Frankie anywhere.

She was the Queen of Stubbornness. Or well, she was the Queen. Period.

Taking a seat next to him, Maggie crossed her legs and eyed him for a moment. She tilted her head slightly, then glanced back over to Hady and Zeke. "Hady's there too though. And we'll leave." So they wouldn't be bothering them with their snogging anymore. "Ooooorrr we all stay and we.......behave." Eyes back on Frankie, she twirled a lock of her hair around her finger.

Deal?

Seriously considering leaving Hady only pulled herself from her thoughts when she heard Zeke speak to her. How had she fine. Before today she had been good. Great even. Right now though, not so much. Lifting her head she somewhat met her friends eyes with her own. "Fine. I'm always fine, you know that." She shook her head a little bit trying to figure out how she was even feeling right now. This whole thing had been one big confusing mess.

If she was going to stay or leave she needed to do one thing. Why she needed to do this she wasn't sure but it was Valentine's Day and whether or not she was angry and upset she wasn't going to mess up her friends day. So before she could think twice she grabbed her coat off the seat beside her and slung it over her arm as she got to her feet. Moving around the table she gave Zeke a simple one armed hug whispering quietly, "I'm not sure I completely understand what it was that was supposed to happen to today but I'm sure you meant well. So thanks for that...but go enjoy the rest of the day with Maggie." As a couple her friends should be having a good day not being here with her and Frankie. Giving him a half smile she straightened up. "I'll see you later...I need to talk with Frankie." With that she said she turned and headed towards the two blondes before she could change her mind and just walk out.

She stopped near Maggie dropping her voice to a smallish whisper, "Thanks Maggie...for whatever it is you were trying to do here today but I can take it from here. Go enjoy the rest of the day with Zeke and I'll talk to you back at the dorms tonight." Simple and right to the point. Maggie and Zeke were both free to go. Whatever came next would be on Frankie and herself.

With a small nod to Maggie confirming she meant what she said she slipped onto the empty stool on the other side of Frankie. Resting her coat on her lap she laid her hands on her coat and somewhat stared at her lap as well not willing to really look at the boy beside her just yet but she needed him to know just one thing. "You can go if you want, you don't have to stay here. I just want you to know that I didn't know about any of this." It might have been her fault that she mentioned things to Maggie some time ago but this 'date' thing she hadn't known about nor asked for.

Frankie was the King of Stubbornness. It was a trait that he had inherited from his father, though his mother made it very clear that the fourth year had surpassed the older Paton by miles. It was his way or the highway in most instances. The only exception being a proposed alternative that worked just as well in his favour. Clearly that was a major characteristic that the Hat had failed to recognize when he was eleven. But Maggie was going to be aware of just how stubborn he could be very quickly.

"So what if Hady's there?" he snapped, the words pouring out of his mouth much harsher than he intended. He didn't mean for that. She was just as much of a victim as he was. Nonetheless, he let the question waver and continued on. "As far as I recall, it was just supposed to be Zeke meeting me here." He paused to let that sink in. "Not whatever it was you had in mind."

There was a moment when the Gryffindor looked like he was considering what Maggie had said, but he couldn't help but laugh when she said that they all could stay and she and Zeke would behave. Riiiiiiight.

He was about to tell her that he'd be staying put and that she was wasting her time when Hady decided to show up. Frankie couldn't completely hear what she was whispering, but he did hear bits and pieces of it as he took the opportunity of silence to take a drink from his mug. When Hady sat down, he set the mug down and blinked at her. He knew he could leave whenever he wanted. But the confirmation that she didn't know about anything involving the entire setup was nice. At least he wasn't the only one in the dark.

"Cool," he said with a shrug, looking away from her. "Just gonna finish my Butterbeer and roam the castle or something." Away from couples and people in general. He had enough social interaction and awkwardness for the day.

Fine? She was always fine? Well now THAT was a lie. She had her moments... didn't they all? He sat there, nodding to himself. Right. Fine. She was fine. And then next thing he knew she was leaving. He opened his mouth to speak, but nothing came out.

Frankly, if this was how the two would behave then he was only too happy to go away with Maggie. He had boyfriend duties anyway, and he didn't particularly want an audience to it. "Sure, laters," he replied shrugging to himself.

He remained sitting for a moment before realising how ridiculous it all was. Frankie stormed off like a drama queen, Maggie chased after him, Hady left him in he lurch... and he was NOT going to sit around like a loner on Valentines Day when he was dating the fittest chick at Hogwarts. Pffft. Grabbing his coat, he followed Hady's path stopping beside Maggie. "Come, I've got something for you," he said in low voice beside her ear - not quite a whisper but not loud enough to disturb the others.

Maggie narrowed her eyes a little but managed to keep that smile in place. The fact that he didn't look TOO thrilled about Hady's presence was a bit of a problem though. Like, Maggie didn't mind if he was upset with herself or Zeke but like, not Hady. That would ruin the plan.

AND THE PLAN SHALL NOT BE RUINED!

"Well, I guess you'll just have to be a bit more flexible then. With your plans." Maybe antagonizing him further would work. "You didn't think it was weird that Zeke asked you out on Valentine's?" Because if he HADN'T then Maggie had just discovered a very big flaw in her plan. "Like-" Only she was interrupted by Hady's arrival.

....excuse you, trying to do? It was totally working, couldn't Hady tell?

Maggie was about to say as much but decided against it in the last second. Maybe making them believe her plan had failed (which it totally hadn't, pfft) was a good idea after all. So she just sent Hady a smile, then hopped off the chair. "Sure. You two have fun." Maybe they could bond over how they'd just been let down by their two friends. Mhm. All part of the plan.

And then there was Zeke. Perfect timing there. "Okay." Maggie leaned against him a little, taking his hand with a grin. "Let's go." Or did he want to stay here? Because if he did then she would have to veto. Leaving Hady and Frankie alone was part of the plan after all. So, with yet another grin for the two she took a few steps away from them, dragging Zeke along.

"Right. See you around." Or like, in her dorm.

Ugh. What was happening here?!

Zeke was acting even more off then she was. At least she was trying to understand things here with the no answers she was getting. Heck she had even thanked him for what he was trying to do. Maybe it was her though...maybe she was handling the entire thing completely wrong like she always did. Whatever though she wouldn't worry about it now, nor would she keep in mind that she didn't get hugged back. Not even a little. Strange really but not a big deal. She told herself she probably hadn't given him the time to react because she only wanted to leave.

Maggie's comment of them two 'having fun' only get a shrug out of her. Fun? Seriously. No. What was happening here wasn't fun. Sorry but not sorry on this one Maggie. It was a mess. A mess that could've been avoided had she only known what was going to happen had she come here. Before she could say much to her friend Zeke was there and him and Maggie were leaving. "Yeah," she muttered quietly sending a nod the girls way. Later in the dorms.

Only did Hady look Frankie's way when she heard him set his mug down. He was looking at her she could feel it so it was only right that she looked over at him. His reaction was no better then anyone else's had been but at least his was justified. He hadn't known any of this either. The one word reply off of him got a small nod of her head in return. There probably wasn't anything else to be said.

Knowing that she could leave now, she didn't. Sitting here for a minute or two longer couldn't hurt anything...maybe she could clear her head a bit before heading back to the castle and her dorm.
