There are two man-made ski slopes on the Great Orme in Wales, although neither of them is your destination today. Instead, there is a third slope, this one Wizarding-made, where Ms. Raphael loves to send some of her more adventurous clients. The air is brisk, and the sun is bright against the fresh powder snow recently laid out by a team of wizards in thick waterproof cloaks. Although there is skiing available at this facility, today's adventure can be found on the shorter slopes nearby.

On the closest hill can be found witches and wizards of all ages lined up to take their turn down the hill on a rubber inner tube. Tubing is all the rage with some Muggles, and the shrill screams of delight make it clear why. Ride down the hill solo or clip your tubes together for a tandem ride.

Just beyond the tubing runs is a curving metallic track winding its way down the mountainside. Up to two people can hop onto the metal toboggan and ride the exhilarating course over and over. Be careful to use the break on the turns, though, or you might spill out into the snow accidentally.

If the air is too cold, there's a cozy little lodge at the bottom of the mountain that sells rich hot chocolate and other snacks. Grab a seat in front of the open fireplace and warm up!

Whooooooooooooooa. Look at her go! Riley, if he was not trying studiously to steer his sled, would have whistled at her moves, even if it looked as if she had lost control somewhat. As long as he didn't have to rush his date to the hospital, it was all good.

Right?

"All right over there?" He called out to her. Fingers crossed? Metaphorically, yes.

Okay, this isn't want was supposed to be happening here. Cece was not supposed to be spinning out of control. There had to be a way to stop that blasted tube from spinning like that... before she lost the contents of her stomach.

As she neared the bottom of the hill Cece started to dig her feet into the snow. That should slow her down... right?

And there was Riley, talking to her. Well more like shouting. Opening her eyes she looked... somewhere. What? She was still spinning you know. "Never been better." She shouted back just as she flipped off her tube and landed on her back side.

Well would you look at that. Not a cloud in the sky.

Riley watched from across the way as Cece spun out of control and flipped right off of her tube, landing on her bottom. Heh. She didn't look injured, so he figured she was probably all right. Never the less, he rolled off of his tube and slid down the hill the rest of the way before crawling over to sit beside her. He probably looked like a fool to any spectator, but he didn't care.

"I don't know who won." He added conversationally then offered his hand. "You going to live, at least?" Heh. Cue irresistible grinning.

Cece was still looking up at the sky when Riley crawled over to her. "Well, since neither of us made it to the bottom I'm guessing no one won." Unless he was talking about who fell off their tube first, then yeah, she totally won.

"Yeah, I'll live," she said as she sat up. That is unless she ended up dying of embarrassment before this date was over.

"No broken bones or bruised egos?" Riley inquired as he stood and held out a hand again, re-offering it to help her stand too.

"Want to try the toboggan?" They didn't seem to be having much success with the tubes, after all.

"No broken bones." As for the ego... well let's just say she wasn't feeling as confident as she had been earlier.

Taking his hand, Cece stood up and looked towards the toboggan course. "Have you ever steered one of those things before?" If not then things could get interesting because Cece had never been in one. She was willing to give it a try though.

"Sure I have." Riley responded with a shoulder shrug and a confident grin. "When I was ten." Heh. But, hey, he was pretty awesome, so obviously they would be FINE. He scooped up both of their tubes and motioned for her to come with him as he started up the hill again.

"So, Cece. I feel like I just don't know you yet." Heh. Wink. "What do you do for a living?" Apparently that was something important in the world, right? Riley could care less what someone did for a living. He could care less what HE did for a living, so long as it kept him alive. But at least they would have something to talk about, right?

"What is your passion?! Do you like to walk on the beach at sunset and dance in the rain?" Lulz. NOW he was just messing around.

"When you were ten? Well this is going to be... interesting." Hopefully steering a toboggan was like riding a muggle bike. Once you learn you never forget. Not that she ever learned how to ride one of those either.

Walking up the hill next to Riley, Cece gave him a little nudge. "Sure you know me. I'm the one that just flipped off her tube." Okay, all kidding aside. "Just kidding. I work at Hogwarts School. I'm the healer there." He did know where Hogwarts was... right? "What about you? What career earns you a living?" As long as he didn't say he was a career prankster she really didn't care what it was he did. Just as long as he worked for a living.

"Why Mr. Newcomb, is this your way of asking me to go walking on a beach with you sometime?"

"Healer, eh?" Riley whistled. "Impressive." And totally hot.

Healer definitely took dedication and passion to go through all of the classes and such, Riley had always lacked dedication and passion to... well, everything. "Those are certainly some lucky kids."

And of course he knew where Hogwarts was! He was TOTALLY in on the whole Hogwarts scene, hello alumnus, anyone? He side eyed her, "Did you attend Hogwarts yourself?" If she had, he certainly didn't remember her, though if she WAS nerdy enough to be a Healer, he probably wouldn't have.

"I happen to be the owner of Wiseacres Wizarding Equipment in the heart of Wizarding England." Yeah, Diagon Alley. No big deal or anything but he was AWESOME like that.

Riley grinned, "Is that your way of telling me that you like walks on the beach?"

Right, lucky kids. Tell them that. "I'm sure quite a few of the students would disagree with you on that one." After all, she wasn't known as the evil healer for nothing.

"Yes, I'm a Hogwarts graduate. That's really the only reason I accepted the position of healer there." If some other school would have approached her, she would have turned them down and continued her career as a healer for the Swedish Army of Magic. "And just where is it you went to school?"

Ooh, he owned his own shop, and it wasn't the joke shop. "A Diagon Alley shop owner. Nice." She just might have to frequent DA a little more often now.

"I might be saying that." *Smirk*

Riley shrugged to that, shrugged it all away, needless details. "Well, children hardly realize what they've got." Hardly. Not that he knew much about children or could ever imagine working with them for an extended period of time.

He'd heard that the summer months were plagued by children, but he'd just have to face that when it came along, right?

"Hogwarts." Riley replied as if it were the ONLY magical school in the world. Where else would he have gone? Hogwarts was the BEST. He grinned charmingly. "I was a Slytherin." Was she impressed? He was.

"Yes, well." What more could he say to that? Not much, it was already obvious that he was awesome. "Ever been there? Inventory's a bit pricey, but I'd give you a discount." WINK. Friends and family ~~and hot laaaaaaadies~~ discount.

He tapped his temple, filing that bit of info away for future use. "Next date, then." Presumptuous? Perhaps just a tad.

Cece did not want to continue talking about the students at Hogwarts so she just let that comment about them not knowing what they have, go. She was out here to have fun, not talk about students.

Cece stopped in her tracks when Riley said he had been in Slytherin. "Shut. Up. I was in Slytherin too." How was it they didn't know each other then? Probably because she was always hiding out in the library doing homework ~~that wasn't always her own~~.

Really? He would give her a discount at his shop? "I haven't been there in several years but you're making it hard for me to stay away now." What female could resist a shopping trip when a discount had been offered ~~by the handsome shop owner himself~~.

Well someone was feeling confident here wasn't he. "How about we get through this date before we start making plans for the next one." Although she did like the sound of another date with him.
