Little League Quidditch Match: Benjamin Doherty and Lyra Black
Not far from England’s own National Quidditch Stadium is an arena that contains an indoor quidditch pitch significantly smaller in size. Red bleachers surround the enclosed grassy pitch, already filling with fans of both teams. It’s noted that the goal posts are no more than 20 feet high and the players are well… small. That’s because this isn’t a professional match, but a little league one. Kids between the ages of 7-10 populate both teams, preparing for the match on their respective sides of the fields.
The Ferocious Pygmy Puffs of Northamptonshire, dressed in their orange and yellow uniforms, seem to have younger players, though that hasn’t kept them from beating every team they’ve played so far. Maybe Manchester Moon Frogs will give them a run for their money? The teal and white clad kids have had a tough season (as tough a season children CAN have) but they’ve still proved to be quiet the team.
It won’t be as gruesome a match as it is with the professionals (and occasionally school-aged kids), but it’s just as competitive and equally fun. Grab some snacks from the concessions stand and join the parents and other fans in the stands to watch quidditch’s future stars go head to head.
She couldn't believe Cath was crazy enough to sign her up for a matchmaking service! It was highly out of character for her, but still, the woman probably had good intentions and she had nothing to do while here in London, might as well enjoy herself.
Lyra stood by the entrance of the stadium as she looked around. Where was her date? Was she early? Was she so late that he had already left? The blonde then checked her watch and confirmed her suspicions, she was early...Meh.
She then crossed her arms over her chest and proceeded to tap her arm using her fingers as she leaned back against the wall and waited.

Benjamin glanced at his watch as he showed up to the stadium, right on time. Sighing a bit in relief, Benjy started to look around for his date. Lyra Black. After searching for a few moments, he spotted a young woman standing against a wall. Walking briskly over, he approached the woman. "Are you Ms. Black?" He asked politely, bowing a bit. "My name is Benjamin Doherty." Pause... waiting for the lady's response, as he held a blue bag containing a gift for his date.

Looking up from the dazed stupor that she had been in, Lyra looked up from vacantly staring at the tree in the distance to find a man standing in front of her, holding a blue bag.
"Huh?" She asked intelligently. Oh great, perfect way to create a good first impression. The blonde then blinked and smiled as he bowed politely, oh wasn't he a gentleman? "Sorry, yup, that's me." Then she held out her hand and said "You can call me Lyra though. Nice to meet you Mr. Doherty, how do want to be called? Ben? Benjamin?" Then she giggled as she added "Benny?"

Benjamin smiled as the woman, Lyra, took a little while to realize that he was there. "Not a problem. and Lyra it is." He replied gently grasping her hand and planting a little kiss on it. "You can call me Benjy if you wish. Though I also respond to Benjamin." Benjy grinned broadly as she giggled about the 'Benny' name.
Looking down at himself, in his long sleeve gray shirt and jeans, he noticed the bag he was holding. "oh, right..." Benjy took the bag and held it out to Lyra. "This is for you." As he waited for her to open it, Benjy fished around in his pocket for the tickets to get into the pitch.

She was pretty sure was she tinged with a not-so-light shade of pink by now, but that didn't matter, after all she was pretty sure any woman when kissed on the back of her hand would blush even more than she did. "Well, aren't you just a gentleman?" Lyra said with a laugh after he released her hand. The blonde then noddded and said with a smile "Nice to meet you Benjy. It's not a very common name, is it?"
When he held out the bag that he had been holding, she smiled and reached out for it "Thank you." She then peered over the top of the bag and grinned at the sight of the bear "Thank you!" The woman said enthusiastically as she beamed up at Benjy "I love teddy bears!"
She then closed the bag once more placed the straps through her arm, holding it like a bag "So, who's playing?" She asked as she glanced towards the Quidditch pitch, even from where she was standing she could already see a few kids zooming around on their brooms, probably having the time of their lives.
not a problem :) I won't be on this weekend, just as an fyi

Benjy smiled as he watched Lyra turn pink, but didn't say anything trying not to embarrass her. "Is Benjy not a common name, or Lyra?" He asked with a smile, trying to determine which she was referring to. "Though I think neither is very common."
As Lyra took the present, Benjy managed to find the tickets in his pocket and pulled them out as she saw what was in the bag. "You are very welcome. That way if this goes well, every time you see the bear, you will think of me." Now it was Benjy's turn to turn a slight shade of pink. He was never good at picking out gifts for dates, and it didn't help that his buddies who usually helped him were who knows where. But this time he had picked correctly. What girl didn't like teddy bears?
As Lyra closed up the bag, Benjy held out his arm so that if she wanted, they could interlock their arms as they walked towards the entrance. "I think it's the Pygmy Puffs vs. the Moon Frogs." He replied glancing at the tickets as they approached the gate. Handing the attendant the tickets, Benjy motioned to let his date go through the turnstile first.
Once they had entered the stadium, Benjamin noticed the little kids flying around getting ready for their match. "Have you ever played?" He asked glancing between the flying kids and Lyra. The redhead glanced around looking for both seats and food, in case his date wanted anything. Once he spotted the food, he smiled before turning back towards the young woman. "Did you want anything to eat or drink now while we're still up?" He figured that he would get something if she wanted something. Otherwise they could go get settled in their seats as they waited for the match to begin.

"Well, so far I haven't met anyone named Benjy before..." She confessed with a smile, and trust her when she says that she has met a lot of people. Then the blonde shrugged and laughed "I suppose so." She admitted "But then, what fun would it be if we had very common names, right? After all, one should always work to stand out among a crowd."
Lyra smiled warmly as she glanced down at the bear again, resisting the urge to pull it out of its bag and hug it tight "I'm sure it will." She said cheerfully "and I'm sure this charming thing will hold pleasant memories."
She then glanced down at the arm that he had offered and interlocked hers with his as she beamed up at him "Pygmy Puffs, huh?" She repeated as she glanced down at the pair of tickets in his hands before looking back out towards the field, watching the little players fly around "I do hope they play well, I'm rather fond of the fuzzy creatures." She joked. To say that she was fond of pygmy puffs was a drastic understatement...she adored the little creatures - much to her cousin's annoyance.
"A little." She admitted with an almost embarrassed smile "I only play at home though, most of my friends aren't particularly fond of brooms." She said with a roll of her eyes as she remembered the prim and proper ladies of Beauxbaton's - now the guys were a whole different matter, but playing Quidditch with them was as good as jumping off a cliff. She then glanced towards him and asked "What about you?"
"Not particularly." She said as she scrutinized the food stall, trying to decide whether she wanted something to eat or not "But if you're going to buy something, then I'm fine with whatever it is you're having."

"I could say the same about your name." Benjy replied grinning. "I find that common names can be confusing at times. I've worked with multiple Johns and others with similar names. Many times you then need to clarify using last names." The red-head looked off into the stadium as he kinda chuckled.
"That's what I'm hoping..." He looked briefly at his date and then at the bag. He didn't typically bring gifts to first dates but he had a good feeling about this one...
Benjy grinned even more as Lyra interlocked arms with him. This always made him feel a bit more comfortable and relaxed. "Yep, I don't know how good they are or have been... I don't even know what color they are..." He replied, laughing as he watched the little kids zooming all over the place. "I'm sure it will be a good match, and I'll be sure to keep that in mind. Do you have a pygmy puff?" Kinda a random question but it had to do with the topic of fuzziness.
He nodded as Lyra told of how she played Quidditch, even though very little. "I have played. I was a reserve on my university team, though I never thought of myself as good. I do enjoy playing when I get the chance." Even though that was very rare since he had lived in the muggle world for most of his time since school. "So you said that your friends didn't like brooms... when you play, do you play with siblings? Relatives?"
About the food, Benjy just decided to purchase a few things of candy that they could share before leading his date over toward their seats. "Ah... right here." A pair of seats right on the end of a row. "Would you like to sit, or would you rather walk around a bit more before the match?" After all, they seemed to have a few minutes before it started.

"Definitely." Lyra said in agreement, grinning back at him as they walked into the stadium "I've had to deal with the same thing at school too. Way too many girls named Emily or Dominique running around the halls." She said with a laugh "You would think parents would manage to think of more original names than reusing popular ones." At the mention of work, the blonde glanced up and asked "What kind of work do you do?"
"Let's make sure to have a good time then." She said with a smile as she hooked the handles of the bag through her other arm, holding it like a satchel.
She then glanced towards the still relatively empty stadium and watched the children zip through the air before pointing towards the field where a bunch of kids decked in green and blue uniforms were warming up and said "I'm guessing those are the Moon Frogs." her eyes then flew to the other side of the field where a group in pink and white Quidditch robes were doing the same and pointed towards them "So they must be the Pygmy Puffs."
"No, unfortunately not." The woman answered with a small frown "Last time I checked, there wasn't a single Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes store in France where I can buy one, and I'm not sure if the fuzzy little creatures could stand travelling via portkey if I buy one from here." Then she rolled her eyes before adding "I could keep them here, at my cousin's house while I'm away, but, for some insane reason, my niece isn't very fond of Pygmy Puffs and so that shoots down that idea."
At the thought of Benjy not thinking that he was good in Quidditch, Lyra let out a small laugh before replying "That's nonsense." She then rolled her eyes at him humorously and said "You wouldn't be in your University's reserve team if you were any good, would you?" Then she shrugged "Mostly relatives. I don't have any siblings, so I spend my time playing one-on-one with my cousin, Cath. and sometimes, when my niece is home from Hogwarts, we fly together and I teach her how to play Quidditch."
"How 'bout we just stay here?" She suggested with a smile as she sat down "We might have a hard time coming back to our seats once the game starts if we walk around." Then she checked her wrist watch and added "Besides, the game's about to start anyway."

"I think if I were to have kids, they wouldn't be the typical names. I really don't know why parents just reuse names... you'd think that after a few, you would get tired of the names." Benjy grinned as he shook his head slightly. About the work..."Well, currently I'm doing odd jobs along with roofing for a former muggle neighbor. I'm hoping to get a job at the ministry soon." Grinning he turned towards Lyra. "What about you? What do you do for work?"
Benjamin simply nodded as his date adjusted the bag. "I'll have to trust your judgment with the teams, but we'll know for sure when they announce it." He looked first at the frogs and then toward the puffs as they warmed up before their match. "I'm guessing that you live in France..." The red-head smiled. "So what brought you to great diagon alley?" It seemed like a fairly long distance to be traveling on a daily basis... granted, Benjy had somewhat forgotten that you could use apparation or floo powder to get place quickly... that's what happens when you live in a muggle neighborhood and walk to work every day. "I don't think I've ever met someone that didn't like pygmy puffs." He replied laughing a bit.
He just grinned at Lyra as she joked around with him about his quidditch stuff. "Well, I could make the reserve team and still not be good if the main team was no good." Laughing for real, he glanced between the warming up players and his date. "I see. I have no siblings anymore either. I like playing with my young cousin as well as occasionally with university classmates who were on the reserve team with me. So what year is your niece in at Hogwarts?"
"That would probably be a good idea." Benjy replied just as the official blew his whistle to signify the end of warmups, meaning that there was only five minutes before the match began. He made sure that he was comfortable in the seat, also glancing over to see if Lyra was also comfortable, before placing his arm around her. "Who do you think will win?" he asked quietly as the game started and the little kids zoomed around the pitch.

"Exactly!" Lyra said with a laugh and she rolled her eyes at the thousands of parents out there that use common names "I mean, there's nothing wrong with naming your child 'Richard' or 'John' or whatever, but wouldn't it be better if they were unique?" Then her eyebrows furrowed together for a moment in mild concentration before speaking up once more "If I were to have kids, I would probably name them something like Robin - I mean, you don't see a lot of witches or wizards walking around named Robin, right?" Right, she was way too young to start thinking about having kids though. "Oh, well good luck with the ministry position then." She said with an encouraging smile "What department are you aiming for anyway?" At his question, the young blonde shook her head and smiled "Oh, I'm not working at the moment." She said "I just got back from touring the world actually." She admitted with an embarrassed blush, admitting that she had just wasted three years of her life galavanting around the world was making her slightly shameful "I wanted to learn more than what the classrooms had to offer me." Then she smiled and added "and on September, when term starts, I would be enrolling in the Wizarding University at Edinburgh to major in either Wizarding Law or Diplomacy and Wizarding Relations - I haven't quite made up my mind yet."
The girl grinned up at him and winked playfully "Trust me, if I'm wrong, I owe you a treat." She promised. Besides, she was fairly confident that she was right - or at least she hoped that she was. "Yes, at the moment." She said with a nod "But I'm planning on moving to London soon." She admitted with a laugh "Maybe we'll bump into each other once I do." Then she laughed "It's a funny story really." She began "My cousin owled me saying that she needed my help around the house since she was just recently released from the hospital after collapsing out of sheer exhaustion, but then when I got here, I found that she was perfectly fine and that the woman was just itching for company since her daughter was still away at Hogwarts." Crazy cousins. Then the woman rolled her eyes and said "Then I'm going to have to introduce you to my niece someday."
"Either way, I stand by my statement." She insisted as she crossed her arms over her chest and laughed "Even if I haven't seen you play, I think you're a great Quidditch player."
"Wait." She said with a frown "Anymore? Why the past tense?"
"Oh, that must have been fun." She replied with a smile, "I've honestly never played a game of Quidditch with a full team before." She said with a sigh "I don't have a lot of relatives and playing with the guys at Beauxton's is like playing muggle dodge ball in the air." She added wryly. At the mention of Cass, Lyra smiled and said "5th year actually. What about you? Do you have relatives that are still at Hogwarts?"
"I don't know about you, but I'm rooting for the ones in pink." She replied cheekily and just as quietly as she smiled up at him before snuggling closer as the players zoomed past, causing cold air to sweep past them.

Benjy just laughed as Lyra spoke about names. "I do enjoy unique names, and yes, Robin would be very unique and not seen often." He wasn't sure how they got onto the topic of naming their kids but he was fine with it. "And thank you. I'm really not sure which department I want to enter. Maybe MLE but I'm not really sure." Ahh, and she wasn't working. "That sounds like a good way to spend a few years. I wish I had the ability to travel like that..." He probably would be able to, but he had decided to work and get some money saved before he went off having fun.
Oooo, a deal. A treat if Lyra named the teams wrong... too bad that they were announced the way she had called it. "Well, it looks like you had it right. So maybe I owe you a treat." Benjy replied winking before pulling out some of the candy he had bought earlier. "Chocolate frog?" He always got distracted by food so it took a few seconds before he responded to the next statement. "That's quite a story. Also, if you need any help moving in, just let me know and I can help out." Grin. He wouldn't mind helping out, especially if it meant seeing Lyra again. "Once Hogwarts get's out for the summer, I'd be glad to meet her." Now Benjy got a funny smirk. He wasn't sure why but he thought that it had to do with the fact that he had said that he had never met someone that didn't like pygmy puffs.
"I am glad that you are confident in me." Even if she hadn't seen him play. "Next time I meet up with some of my uni buddies, I should bring you along and we can play together." That would be fun, wouldn't it...
"Oh,... I had a half brother. He was four years older than me and..." Sigh... "he was out one night partying with friends and well, he didn't make it home..... He was driving, drunk. Only his best friend who was in the passenger seat survived the crash." At this Benjy averted his eyes, though he wasn't tearing up. He just felt odd telling this story, especially to wizardfolk who may never have driven a car.
But, quickly he made sure to move on to the next subject. "So she has OWLs this year?... and I do actually. This is my cousin's first year. I think she's a ravenclaw like I was." He was so excited to see her and ask her about what she though of Hogwarts.
"Well, if you think the pink players are good then I'm going to have to root for them as well." Benjy gave her a little squeeze just as they flew by. He was really enjoying this. Whoever had paired them up was a genius. "Are you having fun yet?" He asked playfully, just as the puffs took a shot at the hoops.

"Exactly!" Lyra exclaimed as she threw her head back and laughed "Although, I'm not so sure that any child of mine would appreciate being named after a bird."
"Oh! MLE? That's the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, right?" The blonde then repeated with a smile "So you wanna be an auror?" truly, did the MLE have anything else? She wasn't quite sure, but maybe Benjy was. She would have to remember to ask him...
She then sighed as she leaned back against her seat, before replying "It is, although, times like this it makes me wish that I should have done something productive after gradaution. Most people my age already have jobs, families, and all that. I don't have any of those." Then she craned her neck to look up and him and added "Like you for example, you have your whole life mapped out before you, you know where you want to go and how you're going to get there."
"That should teach you, never to bet against me." She said smugly as she settled deeper into the chair, reveling in the warmth that Benjy gave. Quidditch matches usually never seemed this cold...but then, Quidditch matches were rarely this empty either. No wild fans bouncing up and down their seats making the air all humid and sticky. She then took the chocolate frog that he had offered gratefully and opened the packaging carefully, taking care not to let the edible frog escape her two-fingered hold as she examined the card that came with it. "Huh, Albus Dumbledore..again." She said with a frown and a roll of her eyes before looking up at Benjy "Do you collect chocolate frog cards?" She asked before biting into the frog that had slowly begun to melt, spreading a small amount of chocolate on her thumb and index finger.
Lyra then smiled gratefully as she nodded at his offer "Thanks, I really appreciate it. I'm going to need all the help I could get. The last owner left it like a watermelon had exploded in the apartment or something." She said wryly, her thoughts briefly turning towards the terrible state that her new apartment was in. Stupid realty offices not making sure that the place was in good shape.
Someone was excited to meet Cass? Well, that wasn't new. "You won't be so glad when you actually do. " The woman warned as she rolled her eyes playfully "The little snake is a blonde devil. Trust me." Then she added, almost conspiratorially "I personally think it's from staying in the dungeons too long. The damp air must have gotten to her head the first time she ever set foot in that castle."
"Of course. How could I not be?" She replied cheerily as she smiled up at him brightly. Then she shook her head at his generous offer as she declined as gracefully as she could "I think I'd rather stick with cheering, actually." She said with a smile "I could be your personal cheerleader or something." She continued with a shrug "I'm sure you guys already have these dynamics going on when you play, and I really don't want to ruin it by just jumping in."
Oh. He had lost a brother?! That was terrible! She couldn't even begin to phantom how that must feel like. She didn't care about the circumstances, of course not, after all she knew so little about cars - or muggle contraptions in general - but the loss was the same, whether someone had died by magical means or not. She was pretty sure it was the same sharp sting. "I'm so sorry for your loss." She said gently, placing a comforting hand over his as she sighed sadly. "I shouldn't have asked."
Lyra then nodded as she closed her eyes and smiled, her mind briefly drifting to the memory of Cass coming home just a couple of days ago, throwing a terrible temper tantrum as she stomped out of the fireplace "I don't think her OWLs went well though." She admitted with a sigh "She's been absolutely terrible company since she came home. So I'm guessing something went wrong with her exams." After all, her nerd of a cousin only seems to get riled up when it came to the insane expectations that she had set upon herself. She then perked up when he admitted that he also had a cousin that studied and Hogwarts "I'm sure she did beautifully." She said with a bright smile "I won't be surprised if she already has plans for the summer with the friends that she had met over the term." She then asked "What's her name?"
"What's the team's name again?" he asked softly. She then grinned as he tightened his hold around her shoulders as the small players whizzed past them "Of course." She replied "You?"
not a problem ;) I love how these just keep getting longer and longer

Benjy just laughed at the thought of naming your kid after a bird. "I'm darn glad that I wasn't named after a bird.... Just think of all the nicknames you could get from that." He replied laughing just the same. People were definitely not supposed to be named after birds... He was sure of that.
MLE... "Yes... Magical Law Enforcement." MMmHmmm That was one of the divisions he wanted to be part of. "Yes, I think that would be a good position for me." Benjy nodded. He knew about the dangers of being in the MLE but he knew that was one of the places he might want to be.
Benjy sat quietly listening to Lyra as she went on about wishing she had done things differently. At times, he felt the same way. He wanted a family, a steady job, someplace to come home to after a long day at work. He knew what she was going through, except that he hadn't gotten the chance to travel the world. This was the first date he had gone on..... ever. He just never got the chance, and had never met anyone that he had wanted to go with. "......Trust me.... the only thing that I like to think that I have planned out is getting a job at the ministry....." He replied in a gentle voice. "I want a family too...... right now, though, I'm still finding that person that I want to spend my life with.... That's the main reason why I'm here with you. Because I want a family. I want to be a dad." He stopped and looked directly into Lyra's eyes. "My life is just as unplanned as yours. I'm just hoping that I figure it out soon, and right now I think I'm starting to get it figured out a bit." He said blushing slightly. Even in the short amount of time, he could tell something was right.
Benjy chuckled. "I shall keep that in mind for the future..." He enjoyed some fun, but he would make sure to bet on the same side in the future. He watched as she took the frog and opened it. "I do have a collection back at home." The redhead grabbed a napkin and handed it to her before he noticed that she seemed to be snuggling up against him. "Did you want to share a blanket?" Before she could answer, however, he took a little pouch out of his pocket, opened it up and pulled out a blanket before draping it over Lyra and himself. "That better?"
Now that they were comfy, he could focus on other things. Like moving. "It would be my pleasure to help..... you just send me an owl and I'll be there." Moving was not an easy thing to do alone, so he would be there for her to help out.
Ahhh, her niece.... "Oh... I'm sure I'll make out fine with her. Some of my buddies at school were troublesome slytherins..." Laughing slightly, he did his best to make it look like he could be a troublemaker. Damp air.... he had never been to that part of the castle but he could understand where she was coming from with that. The potions room was always damp and unappealing.
"Oh... I don't know..." He replied smirking. "Are you positive? I'm sure that the guys would love to have another person to play with. But if you'd rather...." He would make sure to bring her, even if she wasn't going to play.
His brother.... It was a tough topic to talk about but he was past the stages of mourning.... or at least to the point that he didn't get too visually upset about it. He just nodded and accepted the hand on his arm. "No... no, it's fine. It's better now so that it's out of the way, so that if it came up later it wouldn't be harder to explain."
Benjy noticed Lyra's eyes close and he held her tighter. "I'm sure she was just frustrated about having to take them. You won't know for sure until later this summer..." He remembered taking his owls and newts and how he came home not happy at all, but then he did just fine on them. As for his cousin...."Knowing how she did back at her muggle school, I wouldn't be surprised if she did exceptionally well in her finals this year." At least he hoped so.... "Her name is Lily.... Her parents asked me to pick her up from the train, so I got to spend a bit of time with her, though she spent most of it with her best friend."
"I think they are the Pygmy Puffs...." Benjy replied looking back at the game that they had not really been paying attention to. He watched them fly around and shoot at the goals for a while, while being snuggled up with Lyra. "I'm glad.... and yes, I am quite enjoying this." He wouldn't trade it for any other date. This was perfect.

"I think that mostly depends on the name, Benjy." Lyra said with a laugh "Robin seems like a perfectly acceptable name, and I don't really see an embarrassing nicknames for it..asides from bird boy maybe, but that's just rather silly."
"People often put that department high up on a pedestal..." She said softly "I'm sure being an auror isn't as glamorous as history books make it out to be.." She added with a small sigh "Just be careful. 'kay?" She asked as she glanced up at him with a small smile
Lyra cleared her throat slightly as the conversation shifted to families while she turned a light shade of red. It wasn't as if she didn't want to have one someday, but she really didn't want to talk about it at the moment, especially now that she never really thought about and had never given it thought. "Well, I'm sure we'll both have that in the future." She said with a smile "Only time would tell." Then she rolled her eyes as Benjy blushed while she let out a chuckle "Benjamin Doherty are you hitting on me?!"
"Good." The blonde replied with a grin, then she nodded as she took part of the blankey that he had offered, wrapping it around her shoulders gingerly "I should have worn something thicker." She said with a small frown "I didn't think it would be this chilly." Then, as if realizing something, she suddenly sat up straight and eyed the small pouch "How did that blanket fit in there?" She asked - momentarily forgetting all about expansion spells and all that.
"Sure." She said with a smile "Just as soon as I finish the papers - and convince my cousin to let me move out of the manor." She joked. Being stuck in an old mansion with only house elves and a moody Cassandra for company was most certainly not her cup of tea.
She then raised an eyebrow at him and rolled her eyes "I think most Slytherins are troublesome - although, that's probably because the only Slytherins I've met are either family members, or friends of said family."
Then she smiled and nodded "Yup, I'll be fine. Don't worry." Then she chuckled "As much as I love flying, I'm not really good at Quidditch." She admitted ruefully
Instead of saying something, Lyra simply nodded in understanding as kept her hand over his arm in a consoling manner, keeping quiet. Really, what was there to say? She was not going to pretend that she knew how he felt, after all, she never had a sibling to lose. She could merely just imagine.
"I think she was saying about not being able to finish." Lyra said with a grimace "But between the shouts, the stuff being thrown against the walls, and the sudden explosions of magic, I couldn't be too sure." Merlin, Cassandra was a pain to live with when upset.
She then smiled and said "Oh, what a lovely name." Then, she cocked her head to one side and asked "What's she like?"

"Very true..." He said laughing alongside Lyra. "Even though it may be silly, kids nowadays might still use that." Benjy replied giving her a joking look before laughing again.
The redhead nodded. "Yes, unfortunately, many people want to be a part of it simply because they were seen as the heros... or some of them were seen as heros." That was the kind of thing that Benjy didn't want to be associated with. He didn't mind doing things to help those in need, but he didn't want to be taken out and praised for being a hero. "I like to think of it otherwise. If you take into consideration the dangers and bad things of a job, the good things make the job easier to agree to. It also prepares you for what might happen." That was his strategy before taking a job. Find out what could go wrong or could happen just so that you're prepared and if you still want the job then take it after that. Pulling her closer, he responded quietly. "Don't worry... I'll be careful." He then sat back a bit and gave her a smile, showing that he was serious.
He could tell that she didn't exactly want to talk about families right now so he laid off it. Maybe they could talk about it some other time.... when she was ready. Instead of saying anything he just nodded. Time would determine their fate... and he would just have to be patient.....He caught that eye-roll and was laughing by the time that she said anything. "Maayyy---be..." He could live with that answer... and kept laughing. "Why?" he asked jokingly.
Good, he was glad that she was comfortable now. It would be a very long day if she was chilly the whole time. "See, but if you had worn something thicker, there would be no need for the blanket..." Benjy replied with a smile. The good part was that she was warm now. "Ah... This." He said holding up the little bag. "Just a simple spell that allows me to bring whatever I need wherever I go." The redhead answered with a grin plastered onto his face. Sometimes the little things amaze people, instead of the bigger things.
"I will be patient then..." He said laughing. "I'm sure you'd find a way to convince them to let you move out.... unless they want to come with you." Grin...
"Oh... I'm sure they are all troublesome in some way, shape, or form." Slytherins were simply placed there for that reason. The whole house had that reputation. As for the Quidditch... "Alright....maybe we'll just have to go flying somewhere together, rather than playing Quidditch."
"Well, OWLs and NEWTs are very stressful, and sometimes it just gets to be too much." Benjy just shrugged. He remembered those days and was glad to be done with them. "Ahh, yes... I really love the name Lily and was so happy when my aunt and uncle named her that.... She's very quiet, as far as I know..."
