Warm Fuzzies Thread

So lately there's been a few warm fuzzies floating around on twitter and I figured why not make a thread here where we can say nice things about how other people write their characters? Its nice to be able to focus on the things we admire, while also hopefully providing a bit of inspiration for others here and there. So if you have any shout outs for how a charrie is RPd, or their back story, or the way they talk, or anything at all about them that you think is just fabulous, why not say so here so that people can see what they're doing right, and we can make everyone feel happy and smiley?


Rules:
-Warm fuzzies should be about OTHER people's characters... not your own.
-Try to give some warm fuzzies to a variety of characters. If you see someone already mentioned that you want to give warm fuzzies to, come back and post again after its been a few posts.
-You can include non-school charries if you like, and graduated charries, as long as they're part of the SS timeline.
-absolutely no negativity. We're not here to say what people are doing WRONG, we're here to give props to the things we appreciate.

I will start:

I absolutely love feeheeheeny's Sophie Brown. She has changed SO much in the short time she's been at Hogwarts and I really appreciate seeing character growth and development. She's not perfect and that is what makes her so great.

I adore Emzily's Theodore Kinsley. He is SO brilliantly flawed and I can never get enough of stalking him. He's interesting and funny and so real and he's developed a lot over the past seven terms.

Okay so I've got two props to give out!! My first one goes to DuckyLinJ
Her Character Daichi, and my 1st Character's fun little TROLL IN THE DUNGEON act in their 6th year...was probably one of my many Highlights from that year. She made me wish that Oakey, and Daichi had interacted with each other earlier in their years at Hogwarts. It was good that we had that Chance then, and I can't wait for more!!
Each of her Characters are so full of life. I'm always looking forward to reading what She'll have them do next.

My Next Props go out to The1HBIC I mean wow!! Who can take a Job like Healer which requires LOTS of TLC, and make a Character like Cece (which I mean like, Cece cares so Much about the Students, with a rough exterior. These are always some of my Character's to read about in stories)! Too many great Role plays with Mary to pick just one that stands out! Candy Barf, Detentions, and countless more. She had me from Hating Cece, to Love-Hating Cece, to Loving Cece, well within a year! Go to the Hospital wing and help despise this Lovely Healer! Mary does such a great job with her!

Gosh, I seriously love so many characters...so here is some more love.

Kayquilz’s lovely Ravenclaw girl Eden McGee is someone that well, Puck loves really. And I love her too, because Kate really is genuinely kind to everyone really and I love finding that in someone else. Also, Eden has a sense of humor and true emotions AND she came to Puck's defense when she was locked in the boobox.

ArianaBlack's Zander Adair always makes me laugh when I stumble upon his posts. He has such a dork side that is just precious and his view on how Cinna needs bells so he can know where she is (yes I stalked their WWW DA posts) really just made me laugh.

Awarlesta Black's Rorie Hazlewood is going to be so much fun to post with. I can already tell that she is going to be one of those characters I wish I could see into the other house common rooms for. I mean she fits as a snake and I love that in her and she's super awesome and MARINA is loved okay. She seriously is awesome and isn't afraid to use someone as a human tree (or ladder) which I love about her.

IbeJenn, seriously. Can anyone really say that they hate "THE BABE" as Puck calls her? I mean, Bianca Caruso's whimsy always puts a smile on my face she's adorable and sweet and gives cute adorable food related nicknames to her friends and really, come to think of it she's like the Mac to Puck's cheese...or the syrup to her french toast as thats the nickname Bianca gave her. Anyways, Bianca's bubbly nature just makes me smile and I want to hug her. Seriously. AND she's written in such a cute yet elegant way that makes her so adorable, perfect, and fanceh.

So, I'm CRACKING UP at Ghosty Marion Burbage in this RP we have going on and it's just reminding me how HILARIOUS she was a Visiting Professor back a few terms ago....with her calling all the HAWT men STUD MUFFINS and her famous HOOOOHOHOHOHOH laugh.

So, major props to whomever is RPing that lady. You're magnificent.

Alsoooooooooo, I wanna give a shout out to my lovely Ravvie Co-Prefect, Lili! (WoodsLittleFlower), and her amazing character, Coral Bay. Ugh, you couldn't find a sweeter girl if you actively TRIED. I'm so, SO grateful that I get to do this with such an AMAZING person (and character). I cannot even begin to tell you.

Can we take a minute to appreciate Meizzner's Dante Barrington?

Dante cracks me up 500% of the time just by being Dante. He's got the world figured out. My favorite thing is when he accidentally gives sass to Professor's just by answering questions without actually trying to sass them in the first place. I could read about Dante's life all day. He's THE man. His knack for simple solutions amazes me. Third year and already killin' it. You go Dante, you go.

I've tried to keep myself from posting here for so long because I know I could gush about y'all and all your talent for years and years, but clearly I've failed so here I am. All of you are so fabulous so of course it'll be difficult to keep from writing an entire novel. I'll be back though for sure, 'cause everybody's writing is just so fun to read and asdjhfaksjfhlaqhfkjshflajssfh *controls self* *ahem*

There are SO many characters and RPers I could praise here but I'm going to leave some extra love and warm fuzzies for Felixir. I haven't been on SS for too long so I can't say I've been acquainted with too many of Felix's charries but I've been blown away time after time with Toby and now Daxton too. Tobias Fuller-Thompson is definitely a character I think I can safely say we all know and love, and no matter the situation I always see Felix writing his thought processes so beautifully. I love reading Toby's internal monologue and just getting to know his personality in general--I mean have you ever seen a charrie more lovable? Their posts could easily be funny, endearing, or heartbreaking, often all at the same time. Felix just does such an amazing job really showing who Toby is and how he feels, and creating a charrie that is somehow so unique and special at the same time as being relatable and so so interesting. I'm in awe every time, can you tell? EVERY time.

Of course Daxton is really different from Toby but once again Felix is filling their posts with these internal monologues that I could never get bored of reading. Even with such a new charrie they're already showing his personality (which is super impressively developed in itself because what a complex character holy bananas) with every post (that I've managed to stalk, anyways). And the fact that they're making the transition between two such different characters is practically unbelievable considering how clear each character's voice is. I can BARELY CONTAIN how excited I am to see more of Felix's posts as term gets into full swing, because what an RPer, man. What. An. RPer. *sprinkles extra fuzzy warm fuzzies all over*

I could go on for several more years but this has gotten long enough so I'LL BE BACK probably too soon, but I just love this thread okay *lives here*

So...I've had a ton of fun playing so far this term, since Reagan is allowing me the chance to interact with other charries (which Gabe didn't really,lol). I wanted to gush about Aldous Armstrong a little (the fastest seeker's new ickle). He's so...SO precious and I love him (AND ROU, OKAY?).

Ugh...I'm RPing with them at the treehouse and UGH...My flipping heart. *grasps it*

I would like to declare that we all take a moment of silence to appreciate RandomRaven's ickle firstie, Ava Burton. Such a cute, realistic, and fiery first year. She tells it as it is and has that little kid imagination that I miiiiss Her pranking escapades are very entertaining and I honestly CANNOT WAIT to see how she grows throughout her next few years at Hogwarts. I will start off by saying that EVERYONE has great characters for different reasons and I really wish I could name everyone *sobs* but anyways:

Ariana's James Draper is so...funny xD and different from Zander, and I really enjoy playing with Draper because he's so different than Paul and it makes for interesting and realistic reactions xD

Ern's Dot make my heart feel warm and fuzzy, and so...here we are, IN THE WARM FUZZY THREAD because Dot is so weird in like...I don't know, she feels so real to me and I just want to hug her and snuggle her and tell her life will BE OKAY, BBY.

Saki's Henric and Bre's Brady are so funny together, and I love them both as characters, and being able to see them interact as...a prefect and younger student, I am thoroughly enjoying it! I hope to see more interactions and whatnot as the RP goes on.

Ro's David is so cute and developed and another really realistic character for me, and Paul loves him so much we HAD to mention him in here! I am so invested in David, I stalk Ro's post LIKE A WEIRDO. What is DAVID DOING NOW? WHAT IS HE SAYING? xD SOOOO yeah.

Overall, this term is so great so far and I love all the characters! Ugh. <3

No one's posted here in over a year so I'm reviving it. Yay.

I realized the other day that this year is my tenth SS anniversary which! is! crazy! Especially since I've been pretty much gone for like 4 those years with random moments in between when I'd show up all, 'what up' before promptly disappearing again. Oops and yikes @ me. Anyway, I was thinking that I have a lot of fond memories from this site and got to meet a lot of amazing people who also happened to be amazing writers. I didn't appreciate it much then which is WILD now that I'm thinking about it, but it was also a constant thing, this--me surrounded by them and constantly interacting with them. Like, on a daily basis. It really helped me grow as both a person and as a writer. Because of them, I got to flex my brain muscles, a lot. Because of these people teenager me also felt like a productive member of the Harry Potter fandom and this was obviously a big deal for me then. I guess it is now, still.

But back to the point I should have made from the beginning, and the whole point of this thread: I don't think anyone's mentioned her yet, and I think this is possibly because most of you never met her but BREE was AMAZING. Tagren Sevens is the first character who just POPPED out for me when I joined this site. Like, I have a distinct memory of this thread between Tag and BUCKY! in the Trophy Room and I also remember thinking, "Wow, I will never be this good and that's okay." He was really so nuanced, and funny, and Bree just wrote him in such a way that, I don't know, man. It stuck with me. She was not afraid to make him flawed and he was just--so human.That sounds strange, but yeah. It was great. They are both super great.

Oh, and Shout out to Con's Nico Toussaint and Ama's Ocean Tea Jones and Roro with BUNBURY They were the best, too.

TakemetotheBurrow's Meredith Moxley KILLS ME. If I had a knut for every time one of Ashley's posts had me laughing out loud, I'd own a share of every shop in Diagon Alley. The hilarity, it H U R T S. Ashley is absolutely brilliant and the Moxinator is by far one of my favorite characters I've seen played on this site.

nicole black's Aslan Evans. What a trip. Every time I read one of her posts I have to reread just to make sure I processed all the genius within it. Truly an intellect and Nicole's writing has me mesmerized every time. Literally every single one of Nicole's characters has this effect on me because the woman is truly a genius. Other notable mentions of hers include Nana Ichihara, Kathleen Yang (*WHEEEZING*), Justine Janvier and Damien Anderson-Belfort. (Just to name a few lol).

On the subject of H I L A R I O U S character's, this shoutout goes to Miss ArianaBlack for her portrayal of Zoryn. Seriously. Every post of Zoryn's I almost dread reading because I wonder "what she's going to next" and yet it keeps me thirsty for MORE. Definitely a brilliantly planned character, who is like GRYFFINDOR to a TEE and gah, i could go on and on, but really, just, if you haven't read any of her posts. Go. Now. You won't regret it.

I want to take a moment to appreciate hermygirl and her wonderful school charrie, Sam Tyler. The depth that this character has blows my mind!! Sam didn't even know how to read when she was coming into Hogwarts and now she is and top points earner. Hermygirl played her growth as a character and it's amazing. Not only are these things super cool to watch, but how silly and fun Sam is warms my heart. Loyalty is so important to her, also.

Ugh.

So I haven't posted here since I started this thread three years ago. Think about that for a second: how many AMAZING charries have we had come and go in that three years? SO MANY. SOOOO MANY. I can only pick a few RPers for right now that jump out at me, but honestly, I could go on.

Watson currently plays a charrie by the name of Olivia Holden. And I think she's SO WELL REALISED as a character. She's very sweet but has a myriad of different motivations and so much depth. I'm enjoying watching Olivia develop.

Listen, if you've never seen any of potterobsessionist's charries stop what you are doing and go stalk. Whether we're talking the Groundskeeper/Flying Instructor Baldvinsson or the delightful ickle Slytherin Carlton Lewis, I'm just always so impressed with how different the character voices read, and how much depth and dimension (and humour!) they are written with.

NifflerFan has this precious little Gryffindor Emmeline Sparkes who I just want to stalk everywhere. I love coming across her around the site, and she's so realistically aged as a character and I'm looking forward to seeing how she grows and what she will make of the experiences that will shape her.

Kitty Valentine, written by Goblinfrog is another favourite of mine. She is a HOOT. And such an individual. I absolutely love how Kitty marches to the beat of her own drum. She's another one of those characters who has come a really long way in her development, and I'm always a sucker for RPing where characters change and grow with their experiences.

Harron Peasley is an AMAZING RPER. Stop the PRESSES. Send that to the Daily Prophet plz and thank you. I have not yet come across a character from this RPer that I haven't found interesting. I am absolutely sure that you could get RP samples of say 10 different charries of hers, take out their names, and you would still be able to pick out different charrie voices - which I think is something not everyone manages so effortlessly.

Waterloo's Maxton Carden gets me every time man. His internal thoughts got me hollerin'. He is the best kind of dweeb. Always has something to complain about, genuinely HILARIOUS. He's so lowkey that he manages to ~fly under the radar~ but man. This character. He's incredible. A true delight. Encapsulates the true awk, uncomfortable time that was high school for all of us, I'm sure. I think he's such a genuinely on-point portrayal of what it's like to go through adolescence. He ain't got time for Hogwarts' games. just here for his education and byefelicia, y'know?

BanaBatGirl's Bernadette O. Grantham is just one of Roro's many character that I love stalking and appreciate wholeheartedly. The Bernie rp posts usually makes me smile or laugh and even spark inspiration from for my own rp posts when i read them. Bernie is an awesomely thought out character with a voice and personality and background that is written so that I wonder if such a Bernie girl exists in RL too which i hope.

FearlessLeader19 play's a snake Claudine Blaze which i appreciate for her coolness, fiesty nature and unpredictableness and when i see one of Claudine's posts I get the acute urge to want to read what she is up to now. I love how Ali play's/writs Claudine's voice in rp posts because it makes me see a different side to Slytherin house characters and not just the stereotypical Malfoy and Pansy. I appreciate seeing also how Claudine has a big depth to herself and many layers that not always are visible after one glance or rp.

once again, hello to my favorite thread.
There are so many wonderful characters around site right now and I honestly want to list all of them, but I need to be sleeping soon, so instead I will mention a couple of them and come back later with more

I've really been enjoying seeing astrocat's Ashley Fox navigate her way around Hogwarts these past two terms. We know gryffindors to usually be the outspoken kids, so it's so refreshing to see a Ravenclaw actively defy and constantly put themselves in the line of danger in order to stand up for what they believe is right. I'm already so enamored by this character's growth and cannot wait to see what else is in store.

Another one that has been particularly fun to stalk watch navigate this term is Felixir's Nemesis Upstead. My brain is not big enough for Nemesis Upstead. I'm so taken by the way they answer questions in class, their thought processes, and these mind games they play on all those around them. Yet again, Felix has created another beautifully complex and captivating character.

Finally, I love, love, love Bryn's first year, Eden Tilly. This character is so unapologetically herself. I think what I appreciate the most about Eden is how her emotions manifest themselves. She feels her rage so authentically and FULLY, without restraint. The best part (selfishly, for me) is that she's only a first year, which means we get to spend so much MORE time with her and I'm really looking forward to seeing how she continues to grow throughout the rest of her time at Hogwarts.
