Hello all,

This term we will be making another big change to the Hogwarts RPG, regarding the number of lessons being held. This was not a decision made lightly, and several important factors have been taken into account.

In recent years, there have been two lessons per school subject each term, excepting those taught by NPC professors. Moving forward, each staff member will be holding one role-played lesson per term, as well as at least one other group role-play at some point in the term. Lessons will now be worth 40 points each for participation. In future, you may see two lessons held on occasion, but this will be limited to two subjects per term, and these lessons will still be capped at 20 points.

As always, IC your characters will still be attending their lessons on a regular schedule, and it is only the number of role-played lessons being scaled down.

We believe this change will benefit everyone who role-plays in the Hogwarts RPG. Lessons will now be more spread throughout the term, with less overlap. It will remain a staff priority to facilitate the RP experience through their additional group RPs, whether they be extra-curricular activities, study sessions, fun and impromptu activities around the school, etc.

The group RPs held by staff throughout term will provide opportunities for characters interact with professors and students in a group setting, to find their place in the wider school dynamic, and to make themselves known. These additional RPs will not have the same structure as lessons, and will not be limited to a set timeframe. They will be regular RPs, open to anyone interested in playing; if you play two school characters, you can join in with either or both of those characters.

We will be making use of the Extra-Curriculars for some of these additional RPs, and you are encouraged to take a look through the lists and spreadsheets for any clubs, classes, or organisations your character(s) may be interested in.

As this is a new system being implemented, this coming term will be a trial run of sorts. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to post them in this thread, or to PM me directly if you prefer.

This might be a bit of an adjustment but the main goal will always everyone's enjoyment, and we hope that you continue to find that in the Hogwarts RPG.
