Madame Malkin's has remained one of the premier establishments of Diagon Alley, the location where shoppers can find just about any type of robes they can think of. Known more for its selection of robes and such for Hogwarts students, it has also provided apparel for a wide selection of other customers. Even though the shopkeeper turnaround has been somewhat higher than others, the quality of the merchandise has remained at the highest level. The display out front alway features the latest trends.
Upon entry, you find a small golden plaque hanging on the wall next to the door. The small plaque displays each shopkeeper name, showing the long history of quality owners, and to remind people the shopkeepers are always able to help. If you turn around, you’ll find the Robes Display. Many racks of robes and other items of clothing could seem foreboding, but they are all arranged by category which makes navigation easier. Accessories are displayed on tables located among the different sections as well.
Moving further into the shop, you will find the elegant wood Counter nestled against the back wall. Generally the domain of the shopkeeper, the counter is backed by many cubbyholes and drawers. Each containing the tools necessary for alterations and custom orders. A locked drawer contains all transactions, both cash as well as any paperwork. Any requests for alterations are made here, as well as purchases.
You’ll notice behind the counter, tucked away amongst the shelving, is an unobtrusive curtained doorway leading to the Back Room. What lies beyond the curtain is only known to the Shopkeeper, and is off-limits to the general public. There is also a stairway to the loft above the shop, where much of the inventory is kept.
Just to the left of the counter is another curtained off doorway, leading to a fairly large room containing several Changing Rooms, sectioned off by little walls and more curtains. If you feel the need to check the fit of your selections before purchasing, feel free to see if there are any available. Even if there aren't, several upholstered chairs are inside for customers to wait. Groups are welcome in this area as well, if you wish to model the robes.
Working your way around the racks towards the front, you’ll discover yet another curtained doorway on the right wall. The inside is rarely seen as it contains space for Custom Orders. If you cannot find what you are searching for, simply ask about making a custom order where you will begin the process to create your own design. Once you have found everything, and made your purchases, head back to the front door and exit to the North End of the Street, to continue your shopping or just to browse.
And always feel welcome to come back any time you like. Diagon Alley Rules apply at all times. If you have any questions, you can ask them in the Diagon Alley Questions thread. |

Habits: laughing in serious situations, humming while working on projects Personality: Victoria is very laid back. She loves to make people smile and feel better after interacting with her. She will always lend an ear or a helping hand where she can. However, get on her bad side, and you will get a tongue lashing worse than your mother can give. FAMILY/HISTORY Parents: Janett Renaldo-Martin (b. May 2049) and Gerald Martin (b. August 2048) Siblings: Vivian Alexandria Martin (b. April 2070) Children: none History: Victoria the eldest of a witch and a nomajmuggle father, in Nashville, Tennessee. Victoria was brought up to respect the muggle world as much as she was expected to respect the wizarding world. While growing up, her grandmother put her in beauty pageants, often making Victoria’s costumes herself. This activity with her grandmother allowed her to realize she was good at designing clothing and should maybe consider a career in such a field. After attending Ilvermorny Victoria went to the Art Institute in hopes of a fashion career, but missed the whimsical creations she could make for the wizarding world and quickly returned to a local shop for the wizarding world in New York. Her bright work at Dorothy’s Robes and Dresses garnered the attention of Madame Malkin’s shop; leading Victoria to a new adventure in Diagon Alley.

| Madame Malkin's: Rules (for all threads in this forum) Shoe!Girl │ Rebel Ravie │ Confundus Queen │ RP Addict 1) All SS rules apply. As they do everywhere on the site. ![:)](https://www.snitchseeker.com/images/smilies/smile1.gif)
2) Please do not RP for the shopkeeper (Siriusblackliveson) or the Shopkeeper Assistant. Nobody likes feeling like they are not in control of their characters, and RPing for ours does exactly that. You wouldn't like anyone else RPing for your character, so extend the same courtesy to others. - We will check the threads as much as humanly possible, but we have expectations in real life as well, so we can't be on 24/7. We will get to your post as soon as we can.
- In the case of offense, A PM will be sent out to you, and if the request is ignored, or there are further incidents, your post will be deleted, and worst case scenario, you will receive a site warning. 3) Chatting is allowed in the robes display, as well as in the changing rooms.
However, try to avoid any excessive conversations at the counter or the custom orders area, as those will be where we need to pay closer attention for customers who need help (or we will definitely be needed, as in the case of the latter). We will continually check the other threads for requests for assistance, as they might occur, but feel free to play where you can.
If there are any further questions, contact the shopkeeper, aka myself (Siriusblackliveson), or the Shopkeeper Assistant, and we will try to answer them or forward them to someone who can. And have fun!
