To the left of the counter, at the back of Madame Malkin's, is a curtained-off doorway leading to a large room. Or, it would be a large room if it hadn't been mostly partitioned off into a multitude of smaller rooms, separated by walls and bearing their own small curtained doorways. Either way, there has to be an enlarging charm placed on the room, as the outside appearance of the shop wouldn't indicate the existence of this space. These are the changing rooms, for customers to try on their robe selections before purchasing, and each one contains a chair and a full-length mirror for people who would rather maintain their privacy.
In the area that is free of changing rooms, but still behind the curtain leading back to the main room, several comfortable-looking upholstered chairs sit, along with a three-way mirror against the far wall of the area for people to examine their robes in. If you are waiting for someone to try things on, feel free to take a seat and relax, converse with others, whatever you'd like (within reason, of course.)
Melanie hung all her perspective robes on the provided hooks and began trying them on. The length was just right on all of them and the sleeves were perfectly too long. Her mother always chastised her for that particular preference, but Melanie liked being able to grab the hems and wrap her hands in the soft, warm folds of the fabric. She changed back into her original clothes and gathered up her soon-to-be purchases.
Juliette took her giant pile off to the changing rooms, finding one quickly and placing her stuff down. She tried on one of everything, and it fit, although being as short as she was, some of it would need to be altered a bit. Juliette sighed, Everything can't be perfect all of the time. She had to admit, everything was fun to look at,and she did look like a put together Hogwarts student by the time she was done,so this was kind of a fun thing. She had always had that problem with clothes anyway, so it wasn't a problem to her so much as a normal thing that always happened. Changing back into her normal outfit, when she was done she walked out of the dressing room and up to the counter.

After wandering around all those racks of clothes, Konrad spotted some leather gloves he didn't want to leave Madame Malkin's without, and even a midnight blue collar for Klaus. Surely the furry, little guy would like it. But, before getting those, he found himself facing several dress robes that caught his attention and, truth be told, he needed something new and... nice. He was glad that Roxanne agreed to skip the fancy dress up part for their future dates, since neither felt truly comfortable, but he still wanted to have something, should there be a special occasion.
It didn't even take him long to pick some dress robes. There were some pleasant colours, like a deep purple or a really dark shade of green, but he picked a black suit, full with a grey vest and a perfectly white shirt. As for ties... err... maybe he'll find something at home, or perhaps choose not to wear one at all. Even Roxanne saw how much he hated them, and he wasn't even thinking about a bowtie.
Making his way behind the curtain in the back, Konrad stepped inside one of the changing rooms and quickly changed into the new suit. With a quick glance into the full-length mirror, he walked outside and stopped in front of the three-way mirror, because... well, because there was no one to stare at him, and because he could get a better look from different angles.
... but there was something wrong with the cuffs and the collar of his shirt. Ugh, he always had a hard time making them look good, and that day was no exception.

It felt good to be back in London and especially in Diagon Alley. Mason loved Sweden with all his heart, but he still enjoyed visiting his old home. After finding some new things in the store for Rose's growing belly, Mason led his three-month pregnant fiance with their clothes to the back of the store where the changing rooms were.
When they were inside, Mason noticed another man there by the three-way mirror... He looked somewhat familiar, but he didn't look at him long enough to figure out who he was.
"Here are your robes," he said, handing them over to her. Did he get them all?
Rose was so glad to be back in London. To spend time with her family was just what she needed after all the craziness of the past few months. She looked down at her now slightly bulging belly and sighed. Rose wasn't even sure how she felt about everything really. She felt like she didn't even have the time to process the fact that she was pregnant. It was so totally unexpected.. and here she was, shopping for clothes for her growing body. Her own clothes weren't fitting her anymore. Yikes.
Rose let Mason lead her over to the changing rooms.. and almost grabbed the robes from him. "Do I have to try them? I know I'm going to look ridiculous anyway." Her eyes strayed over to the guy standing in front of the mirror.. Oh gosh. No. No. This could NOT be happening. Why was he here? WHY? WHY? WHY? The fact that he was normal human being who was shopping for clothes didn't cross her mind at all.
"Um. Maybe we should leave." Rose dropped the robes on a counter nearby and took Mason's hand. She didn't want to have to deal with this right now.

Anything he tried to do was in vain.
...
Well, at least the robes fit him perfectly, so he could buy them and take all the time in the world to straighten them up... at home. Konrad knew that it would be pointless to spend more time over there, and he even turned to walk back into the changing room as he noticed that he was not alone anymore, to change back into his clothes. However, that was when he stopped in his tracks at the sight of none other than Rose, and a guy whom he guessed was Mason.
He also heard her saying something about leaving before he turned to look at them, which is why he didn't say a word. He just stood there, probably looking ridiculous with his collar sticking up, and still fiddling with the rebellious cuffs of his shirt. It would be a lie to say that he was surprised by her awkward behaviour, but if she wanted to act like strangers, so let it be. He wasn't going to be the first one to speak. Nope.
Rose flushed slightly. It looked like Konrad heard what she'd said and he sure looked confused about her behaviour. Now, it would be rude to leave. She let go of Mason's hand and wrapped her coat a little tightly around her. The last thing she wanted was Konrad to see her teeny tiny baby bump. Because that would just lead to more awkward questions. Besides, she was pretty sure Mason was going to ask her questions about Konrad later.. Sigh. Why did she even decide to visit London?
"Hi." Rose looked up at him. Oh gosh. He still looked like a giant.. She stared at him for a moment, thinking that he hadn't changed at all. Well, he probably looked slightly older but that was about it. "This is my fiance, Mason and Mason... this is Konrad." Thankfully, she'd already told Mason about her ex-fiance but she knew this was going to be a very awkward meeting.

Mason chuckled lightly. "Of course you have to try them on. You'll look cute with a little baby bump." And her clothes weren't going to fit for much longer. Mason smiled at the thought of Rose's growing stomach. She was going to be so cute. But then Rose said they should leave and Mason didn't see why. "Oh, come on, you need to try these on-"
Mason stopped when Rose took away her hand from him and wrapped her coat around her. Who was she saying 'hi' to? Mason turned and saw the other man by the mirror. Wait a minute... THAT was Konrad? Rose's ex-fiance? Why would Rose even talk to him? Mason's gaze hardened and he wrapped an arm around Rose's back protectively. He eyed Konrad for a moment. He didn't want to be rude, but at the same time, he really didn't want to be nice to him either. He gave Konrad a stiff nod and pulled Rose closer. "You're right. Maybe we should go," he said quietly, but loud enough for the other man to hear.

You'll look cute with a little baby bump...
Konrad couldn't help but hear those words, and his eyes widened instantly. He didn't get a chance to actually see anything, with Rose wrapping her coat tighter around her, but since he'd said it... He almost wanted to check her hand to see if there was a wedding ring or not, but on a second thought, he decided against it.
"Hi," he said cautiously, his eyes wandering towards Mason for a moment, and then back at Rose. Since he hadn't bothered to say anything, Konrad only responded with a nod as well. His eyebrow shot up, though, when Mason suddenly became super protective, or rather ridiculous, Konrad thought, fighting the urge to chuckle.
When he heard Mason's last words, he only smiled faintly, clearly getting the guy's message. He might as well have told him to stay away from them. Heh. "No need to leave," he mumbled, focusing back on his cuffs. "I was... done here, anyway." He turned to walk back to the changing room, but stopped on his way and looked at Rose. "Congratulations, by the way," he said with a small smile. Surely she was happy to soon be a mother, eh?
Rose wondered if she could just apparate to Sweden or.. Australia. Right here, right now. She could just pretend like all this never happened. Yeah. This showed her level of maturity at the age of thirty.
Rose nodded when Mason suggested that they leave.. but she didn't want to just walk out abruptly. That would be really rude. And, as much as she hated (and that's putting it mildly) this situation, she didn't want to seem like a terrible person. And, she didn't want Konrad to think Mason was a jerk either. She chewed on her lower lip for a moment, not sure what to say without making things even more awkward. She wrapped an arm around Mason's back, her eyes on her ex-fiance. "How have you been?" That was her failed attempt at making small talk.
Congratulations.. Yeah. "Thanks." Rose muttered with a smile. She rested her hand on her stomach for a moment. Even if she was totally unprepared for motherhood, she knew she'd love it.

Oh, good, Konrad seemed to be heading back inside his dressing room... Maybe? But apparently Rose wanted to have some small talk. Great. Mason tried not to look TOO irritated, but it was probably hard to tell. He didn't want to be around that guy and he certainly didn't want Rose near him.
Mason tugged Rose's arm a little bit and gestured towards the dressing room. "Go on, you should try those on." Because he didn't want to talk to Konrad anymore. But he heard him congratulate Rose. "Thanks," Mason said, somewhat bitterly, even though he was probably talking to Rose. Thanks for being a jerk and getting out of the way so Mason could meet Rose and fall in love with her. Things worked out quite nicely since then. Oh, and thanks for the congrats, too.
I'm just one of those pretty little liars... | | I'm held down in this starless city...
Feeling more out of place than he ever did, Konrad watched Rose, almost smiling, as she seemed to try and please the both of them. Well, starting small talk with him, but still showing Mason that she belonged to him, even if the guy looked ready to curse him... or trying to make him burst into flames, using the power of his mind. "You know -" he said, but stopped in mid sentence, realizing that it would probably make things worse. No, she wasn't supposed to know his normal routine, even if she probably did. "I've been... good. And you? How's Sweden?" Truth be told, it sort of amused him, seeing Mason act like that, which is why he decided to stay for a few more minutes.
But then... what was Mason thanking him for? It's not like Konrad ever talked to him, nor was he going to... probably. He still threw them a dashing smile, now clearly enjoying the rather immature Mason. Heh, trying to push Rose into a changing room so she wouldn't speak with him. Really mature.
Rose could tell that Mason was extremely annoyed and she honestly couldn't blame him. If they had bumped into HIS ex.. well, Rose would have literally dragged him away. Try those clothes on.. yeah. She knew that she needed new clothes.. sigh. "Fine." Rose grinned up at him before she stood on her toes, her lips close to his ear. "Wait a couple of minutes and you can come with." She gave him a light kiss on the cheek. Now, THAT would cool him down.. yes?
Her gaze finally moved towards Konrad. She could see that he was enjoying Mason's uneasiness and it was kind of getting on her nerves. She just wanted to wipe that condescending look off his face. "I'm great. Sweden's amazing actually. I've never been happier in my entire life." And, it was so true. Mason made her so happy. She bit her lip, blushing a little. Yeah. Thinking about Mason made her blush. Even if he was standing right next to her.
"How is Roxanne?" It was only polite to ask, right? Besides, she knew talking about Roxanne would make Konrad feel uncomfortable and that was what she wanted. She normally wouldn't be so.. mean but he definitely had it coming.

Fine? Was she going to try them on? Mason leaned in a little when she whispered in his ear. Well. SIGH. "Fine," he whispered back. But he still wasn't happy about this whole thing. He didn't like that Rose seemed so... okay with talking to her ex-fiance. If it was Medea, Mason would leave without second thought, not wade in the shallow shark pool.
Yes. He was bitter.
Mason took a deep breath and tried to chill out, but he was still eyeing Konrad while they talked. It made him smile a little when Rose said she hadn't been happier in her life. That made him feel good. And smug. HAH. Take that, Konrad. He wondered who Roxanne was, though. A girlfriend? Hopefully.
I'm just one of those pretty little liars... | | I'm held down in this starless city...
After watching Rose whisper something to calm down her fiancée, Konrad smiled when she mentioned Sweden. "That it is," he agreed with a slight nod. Amazing, that is. It was his second favourite country, and it'll probably always be. "That's good to hear. I'm happy for you." Well, he truly was glad that the Mason guy could make her feel like that. Konrad only hoped he didn't always act like the super jealous one. It was so... childish.
The moment he heard Roxanne's name, though, he felt his cheeks burn. "She's great," he grinned. To be honest, she was so much more than just 'great', but he wasn't going to elaborate on that. "We are great." There, Rose. Enough information? Maybe he would have told her that he planned on proposing... soon, but since Mason was there, he wasn't going to say anything else about that.
"When... did you get here?" In London, he meant. Well, he was more curious to know for how long they were in town, but then again, Mason could have easily taken that the wrong way, and he was already shooting daggers at him.
Rose bit her lip, suddenly feeling mentally exhausted. She was trying to calm Mason down and at the same time, try and be polite to Konrad. As much as she'd tried being friends with him, she knew that things would always be awkward between them.. Besides, she wasn't sure if Mason would be okay with her being friends with her ex-fiance. She wrapped her arm a little more tightly around Mason.. just to tell him that he really didn't have anything to worry about. Maybe she should completely stop talking to Konrad from now on.. if Mason had such a problem with it. "Yeah.. he makes me happy." Really happy. And, their baby will be lucky to have a father like him.
Smirk. Konrad was bluushing, just the reaction she'd been hoping for. They were great..Rose was pleased. "Roxanne is his girlfriend." Rose explained to Mason, somehow trying to get him to join in the conversation. She looked at Konrad again with a rather genuine smile on her face. "I'm happy for you too.. and give Roxanne my regards."
"Just yesterday. We thought we'd take a small vacation and I wanted to spend some time with family.. " Yeah.. things were fantastic.

So Konrad knew what Sweden was like? Well... He couldn't hate him for that. Mason knew he was kind of being silly for being so judgy and glarey at Konrad, but he just couldn't help it. He was protective of Rose and he always would be. He couldn't help that, either. At least Konrad said he was happy for them, or at least HER. When Rose said he made her happy, Mason actually let out a smile and he kissed her head. It was only kind of for show.
And it also made him feel better that Konrad and this mysterious Roxanne were a THEY. Together. And when Rose explained that to him, Mason nodded and it was apparent on his face that he was pleased that Konrad had his mind on a different woman.
Mason was starting to relax a little more now. He could sense that the conversation was stiff and awkward though and he wondered how long they would talk like this. He thought he would be civil and comment, though. It was nice to do, after all. "And of course, some shopping." For Rose and her baby bump. Mason smiled and glanced at her stomach briefly, juuuust to rub it in a little.
I'm just one of those pretty little liars... | | I'm held down in this starless city...
He makes her happy... Well, Konrad was glad to hear that, since she practically left everything for him, and they were also about to start a family of their own. Just for a moment, he wondered if things would be the same with him and Roxanne. Even if one was the complete opposite of the other, they seemed to work well together. "Where do you live in Sweden?" He turned to ask Mason this time, because he figured that Rose went to his place, but mostly because he wanted to clear the air if he could, at least for Rose's sake. "If I'm not too curious, that is." It would be interesting to find that they lived on the outskirts of Stockholm, where his mother still owned her parents' house. Heh.
Just when Rose mentioned that Roxanne was his girlfriend, he felt his cheeks redden even more. He was now glad that Rose had no idea that he was thinking about proposing... He was sure she'd take pleasure in torturing him about that, as she did ever since he'd made the mistake of telling her. "I will," he smiled. Pffft, it'd be so much fun to tell Roxanne that, given the fact that they hadn't talked much about their exes, especially after that awful fight they had on Valentine's Day, of all days.
Konrad chose not to say anything when she said that she wanted to spend some time with family, probably her parents, because he'd never been fond of them, and they've always felt the same way about him. Instead, he grinned when Mason added that they were shopping, too, which he noticed. He couldn't even figure how far with the pregnancy Rose was, since she kept that coat wrapped tightly, but she'll sure need larger clothes. Hehe. "Do you know a date... when to expect the child?" Or... children? For all he knew, there could be three of them growing in there. It sort of amused him, thinking about her as a mother, but he knew she'd be an amazing one.
Rose raised an eyebrow when Mason actually said something to Konrad. It wasn't much but at least, he seemed to be trying not to make things any more awkward for her. Although, Rose thought he was still acting weird.. like he was trying to make sure that she was only his which was a hundred and ten percent true but she didn't even understand why he was so worried in the first place. She was going to have a baby with him, for Merlins sake. She raised an eyebrow at him. No. You don't have anything to panic about, Mason.
Oh, wow. Konrad was polite too.. and he was addressing Mason. Great. She obviously didn't want them to be friends or anything but they could be civil to each other. Just for her, yeah? She remained quiet and let Mason answer that question. Distractedly, she let her right hand rest on her stomach, wondering how the last few months of her pregnancy were going to be like.. Scary, that was for sure. But exciting too.
Rose smirked even more when she noticed how red Konrad's face was.. He must really like Roxanne. She was honestly so happy for him. There was a small part of her that always felt guilty for what she did to him, even if it was his fault but to see him smile again.. yeah, it was possible they could be friends. Sometime. Maybe. Rose smiled happily. "Yeah. End of april, most probably." She couldn't bring herself to stop smiling because she was really that happy. Even if the fact that she was going to be a mother made her incredibly scared and nervous, she simply couldn't wait to see the beautiful baby.

"Up north a bit," Mason responded to Konrad's question. "Just about... 25 kilometers east of Storuman." Which was like 300 kilometers north of Stockholm. Storuman was a nice little town. It wasn't huge, but it was big enough for what they needed when they did go into town. He and Rose lived with his father in a huge house that was sort of in the middle of nowhere, but it was gorgeous, so he didn't mind the distance.
Mason smiled again when talk of the baby came up. Merlin, he was so excited to finally be a father. Now that he thought about it, they would have to transform one of his father's guest bedrooms into a nursery for their little boy or girl. Mason rubbed Rose's back lightly and smiled.
I'm just one of those pretty little liars... | | I'm held down in this starless city...
Konrad's eyebrows rose a little in surprise as he watched Rose giving Mason The Look, the one that Merlin knew what could have meant, but he tried not to focus on that. It wasn't his business, after all. He instead listened when Mason explained where they lived, to find that they wouldn't be neighbours, should he move into his mother's childhood house. Good. Or... not? But, since he had no idea what else to say, he only nodded politely, letting Mason know that he understood. What else was there to say, anyway?
And... was Rose smirking at him? Good thing Mason was there, or else she might have already started teasing him. "Ah, that's nice," he said with a small smile. Spring was a lovely time of the year, even if he loved the colder seasons, but he knew that Rose didn't. Unless she changed her mind, that is.
But now, things seemed to get rather silent... and awkward... once again, which is why Konrad took it as his cue to leave and make Mason the happiest man alive. "I... I think I should go," he mumbled, turning to walk towards the changing room, but stopping in front of the curtain. "It was good to see you," he smiled, more at Rose than at Mason, but he got the guy's message; he might as well have told him to stay fifty feet away from her, so he didn't try to friendly hug her. He didn't want to face Mason's wrath.
Oh, yes. He should go! Rose gave a quiet sigh of relief and nodded. Yeah, this conversation had drained all the energy out of her.. and, now all she wanted was to be alone with her fiancè. "It was lovely to see you too." She wasn't sure if she was going to stay in touch with Konrad but it would be nice to bump into him again.. sometime. She wasn't sure if that was EVER going to happen though. In a way, it felt like a final goodbye..Right. Okay. Anyway.
Rose waited for Konrad to enter the changing room before she looked up at Mason apologetically. "I'm sorry about that. I really am."

Oh, goooood. Konrad finally got the clue. Time to go. Mason politely nodded at him, because that was all he could really do for that guy. And he was pleased that he didn't try to hug her or make any future plans to see her. Maybe Mason was a little protective, but he had his reasons.
After Konrad went back into the changing room, Mason let out a sigh of relief as Rose turned to him. He didn't really know what to say...? "It's... fine." He wasn't one hundred percent pleased with the little chat they had, but it wasn't a crime to talk to your ex, so... Mason left it at that for now.
"Do you still want to try these on?" he asked, gesturing towards the clothes.
"Look, I know you're mad at me.. " Rose bit her lip, her hand involuntarily resting on her stomach. "So, if you have something to say, just go ahead. I totally deserve it." She knew that talking to Konrad would make Mason mad but she did it anyway. In her defense, she wanted to be polite to Konrad because she.. well, she'd still felt guilty about everything that had happened between them. Weird considering it wasn't her fault at all. Anyway, he seemed happy now so Rose had nothing to feel guilty or bad about anymore.
"I don't know." Rose really wasn't in the mood to try clothes on now.. and Mason was clearly in a bad mood. Unfortunately, she didn't know how to make him feel better. Sigh. "I'm sorry, love." She stood on her toes, giving him a light kiss on the lips. "I really am."

Mason sighed and stared at the clothes, avoiding contact with Rose for a couple moments. Was he mad? "Rose," he said quietly and finally looked at her eyes. "I'm not... mad, I just don't understand why you would want to talk to him. Especially after what he put you through." Frankly, he didn't think that would ever make sense to him. Mason went through a very similar situation and he knew he would be glad if he never talked to Medea again. It just didn't make sense to him.
And now she didn't want try the clothes on - he could see it written on her face. He sighed again when she kissed him and he softened up a bit. "It's okay." Mason kissed her forehead and set the clothes back down. "Why don't we just forget about it and get some lunch?" As much as he didn't like Konrad, he didn't want the guy or this situation to ruin a perfectly good day.
