Work Area

"SOMEONE!" Charles bellowed, his voice loud but strained as he attempted to be louder than the woman in his care. "WE REQUIRE ASSISTANCE. THIS WOMAN HAS BEEN BEWITCHED!" Taking a deep breath, Charles attempted to twist his body a little bit so he could retrieve his wand once again and for the sole purpose of casting a Silencing Charm upon her. No offense, Jane. You had sounded lovely while in the pool. |
Honestly, Cal hadn't even heard what the Minister said - it was all a jumbled mix of screaming and unearthly screeching to Cal's ears as he came tearing out of his work area, wand held out in front of him just in case. He tried to process what he saw in front of him as he approached, but there was so much to focus on. The screaming (which, thankfully, had been silenced a moment before he arrived) was obviously troubling, but she was also soaking wet?? Where did that happen? Had the Minister dragged her here from a pool or something?? Cal did NOT do well under pressure and this was like, the definition of that. He stared in horror at the woman and looked at Hollingberry with his mouth agape. "Uh...what...what do I do?!" he asked in panic, waving his hands wildly in panic. This was WAY WAYYYY outside his pay grade! |
Chloe was mid-bite into her lunch when the Minister came in carrying a woman ... ??? UM What?? Bewitched? They dealt with accidents and catastrophes here sure, but wasn't this more Janus Thickey Ward material? Abruptly kicking back her chair to see the chaos, she gave a sideway glance over to Cal, sweet boy ... young man that he was. Though she supposed she wasn't even sure what to do about this because this was definitely not her area of specialty. "Shall I memo St Mungos for urgent transport to the emergency room?" Also, dare she ask why they were dripping wet? "And let's get some towels to dry the floor before we have a slippage accident on our hands." |
Ah, Calloway. Charles was quite familiar with the young man from word of mouth - namely the mouth of his grandson which came with some very colorful biases that his granddaughter would then balance out (the darlings) - and the Minister attempted to offer the boy as much a reassuring smile as he could muster given the circumstances and quelled his own drumming heart so that he could step away from panic himself. Clearly frazzled and needing to ease into the stakes of this situation, Charles eyes up the desks and then returned his attention back to the young man. "Calloway, if you would be so kind as to arrange a more comfortable laying down situation for Jane on a couple of these work stations here. And fetch a couple of blankets to help keep her warm, please." "There is no time," he shook his head towards Chloe while panting a bit as he adjusted his hold on Jane. "I was hoping there would be a Curse Reversal Specialist or Spell Reversal Agent available for consultation." He glanced back towards Jane, his heart sinking more than a bit as guilt seized his chest for silencing the poor woman who clearly had no control over what she was doing. "I found her in your pool, floating and singing the same song over and over again...the moment I removed her to bring her here for inspection, her quite lovely song turned into a kind of screech that would even cause a harpy's ears to ring. Her lack of voice is by my own wand and nothing to do with whatever additional bewitching must have befallen her." |

Thankfully Calloway didn't have time to be awkward around the Minister - he knew quite well how his grandson felt about him, and the memory of getting a black eye always reared its ugly head whenever he saw him - because a moment later the woman was SCREAMING again. If you could even call it screaming. Cal personally thought it sounded more like a dolphin being hit with a Cruciatus Curse. So much for that silencing charm?? Nodding hurriedly at Charles' instructions, he ran around and grabbed every cushion off the office chairs he could find, and thankfully a few of the cubicles had some abandoned throw blankets hanging over the backs of the chairs for those cold afternoons. Once he had all his supplies gathered in his arms, he ran back to her and starting throwing blankets over her, as if that would have some sort of calming effect on her... Once that was done and he finally had a moment to think properly, he raised his wand and cast another silencing charm, which was hopefully strong enough to stop her again. "Is she cursed? Like did she touch some dark cursed object?" he asked, trying to think what could possibly elicit such a reaction in her. |
DMACers and anyone else that wants to stop by! Another day, another galleon. Beyond a few minor mishaps here and there, Tallulah considered today to be a fairly tame day in Accidents and Catastrophes. Even the stack of paperwork that was on her desk wasn't nearly as thick and there had only been the one meeting that morning, which gave the woman clad in a yellow dress plenty of time to prepare a little something special for her busy bees and anyone else that happened to be around. A wispy bear Patronus had made a fleeting appearance elsewhere in the building as well. "Hellooooooo, everyone!" she sang merrily as she stepped into the maze of cubicles. "I've brought sustenance for anyone who needs a pick-me-up and a bit of a brain break." Trailing along beside the department head were two silver Ministry serving trays with a variety of foods. One had a variety of healthy snacks on display (Greek yogurt, fruit, vegetables, wraps, etc.), whereas the other featured a range of sugary delights (her personal favourite being the Peppermint Toads, of course). Dig in, lovelies! |
