Reception and Waiting Area RECEPTION & WAITING AREAThis vibrant and bustling space serves as the gateway to all matters related to magical transportation within the wizarding world. Visitors are greeted by a friendly and knowledgeable receptionist ready to assist with inquiries, appointments, and ticketing. |
Employees, open, anyone, HELLO! Anna had gotten to work super early and had been adding just a little something to the reception area. She had placed a few bright colored vases with fresh cut flowers, some streamers around the doors, and now was making sure the bundle of balloons weren't going to fly off down the hall before her employees had even gotten there. Stepping back she couldn't help but bounce a little with excitement. Checking her watch she knew that someone from the food court would be up soon with the breakfast catering she had ordered. Oh did she want to surprise all her employees today, it was a special day and she wanted them all to feel as excited and special as she was. Now to wait until they all came. |
Ethan still was in disbelief that he was actually employed by the ministry. His father had worked here for a short while years ago, but Ethan never really imagined that he would as well. Yet the stars seemed to align quite nicely and his boss? She seemed SUPER nice so really what more could he ask for. He was settling into a good routine and things were just dandy. Although he wasn't exactly sure what happened at the orientation with the fountain but leave that to the professionals? "Morning Miss.... Missus ... Howard." was she married? Was it rude to ask? It wasn't like she signed her name on his welcome letter with that title. |
The food at just arrived and there was so many options and you could NOT have a celebration without cake, so a big cake all cut up into slices was there as well and just in time because her first employee was walking through the door. "Good morning Ethan! HAPPY EMPLOYEE APPRICIATION DAY! I hope you came hungry! There is plenty to eat and never ending coffee." She loved showing her employees appreciation and she hoped they knew they were all important to her. "Oh please, it is just Anna, no Miss, or anything like that. Just Anna" She was quite sure she would always be a miss and that didn't matter to her at all, she was enjoying life and back on track of her wants in life now that she was here. |
Tatiana was a little taken aback by all the... party favors. "Hello." she said in greeting, while still looking around. "What's going on?" she asked curiously. |
The new workplace was exciting to Kingston, who felt right at home despite knowing a certain someone that he didn't want to see worked in the building. He was glad they would be on a different level from him. His thoughts on this dissolved at the sight before him. "Wowee, what a splendid sight," Kingston surveyed before one of his giggles escaped. The number of flowers and decorations displayed was on the extra side which tickled him. (Anna) was already there with a younger man (Ethan) who was also new with him. Nodding at (Tatiana)'s question adding to it, "Is this all for us?" He had worked up an appetite just from the sight alone. |
More employees were coming in, MORE EMPLOYEES! This made Anna super excited, even though they had to come in, it was a work day. "Good Morning, good morning! Happy Employee Appreciation Day! Yes, yes, this is all for all of you! I hope you are hungry or even thirsty!" Plenty of food, plenty of drinks, plenty of everything going on. "Oh, oh I almost forgot! Here is just a little something extra!" She handed little baggies to all inside they would find the cutest little owls with a gift card in its beak. Each bag held a different gift card to all the places to eat around the ministry and Diagon Alley, she just hoped they liked the card they got. "I am just so excited to have you all back in the office and ready to get moving on all the great things." |
He wasn't a big cake fan, but he knew someone - well, lived with someone - who would love it, which meant he would most definitely be taking his cake home for Nora. Ethan did do coffee though, because being a full-time employee while still finishing his university degree, meant he was definitely running on coffee most days. And it seemed from the energy that Ms Howard was giving off, she ran on coffee too. "Oh, okay. Just Anna. Right, well, thank you! You definitely know how to throw a party," he mused, pouring himself a cup, as other employees began filing in. "Hi there, I'm Ethan, just started in broom development." He greeted of Tatiana, who was followed shortly by Kingston, who was familiar to him only that he was also new just like himself. "What area of transportation do you two work in?" Oh Anna was giving them something else??! Okay, why had he hesitated about applying to the ministry? If this was what it was going to be like with FREE swag constantly. He peeked in his gift bag and discovered a gift card for madam malkins in there. "New robes, here I come," he mused delightfully. "Thank you, this is very kind of you! So uh... has the ministry got any secret passageways the way Hogwarts did?" You know, just curious. |
Tatiana accepted the gift bag. That was... quaint. The thought was appreciated though. "I am Tatiana." she said, with her Russian not as strong as previous years. "I work in Portkeys." She was unaware of any secret passageways. It did seem like useful information though. She helped herself to some coffee while listening to see if anyone had any insight. |
I am so sorry about this, my subscriptions are messed up >< How could she not be all smiles after that. If he only knew what kind of parties she could throw in her day, just he waited until some BIG ones came around. She couldn't wait to show them how much she liked to celebrate. This was only the beginning, but a little at a time, she knew she couldn't throw all her personality at them at once. "I'm glad you appreciate it, but I just wanted yinz how much I appreciate all you do. That was exactly what this was all about. She let the other two speak a moment while she went for the cake, just because she had gotten it for the employees didn't mean she couldn't eat it as well. "So while some of you are here, let me ask you, what are some things in this office that could happen that would make your days here better? Like a bring your pet to work day? Team lunches? Incentives for extra days off? Matching Thursdays, what do you think? I want to hear from all of you." Yes, what could she do to make this place more fun. "Passages? What passages? I'd like to see these if there are." She hadn't went to Hogwarts, but figured every castle had a few secret passages in them. |
As the afternoon started many workers were fully involved in their tasks that they might not have noticed, but the ones near the reception area would have heard the fluttering before seeing the box come into the level being carried by six owls. As the owls got to their destination they flew close to the floor and let go of the over sized box and turned to fly away. |
After sending out some of his crew to clean up a situation involving a handful of muggles witnessing portkey travel, Raini had some paperwork to write up to document the incident and needed Anna Marie to sign off on it as well since it involved her department. Instead of sending it down by messenger, he decided to stretch his legs and pay her a visit. She was always rather pleasant and he wouldn't mind a break to engage in some conversation. As he reached reception to Level 6, Raini was nearly knocked over by a flock of owls delivering a very large box. That was curious... but maybe not unusual for Transportation. He wasn't all that familiar with what was delivered to this department on a regular basis. Anyway.. he should be off to visit Anna Marie. |

"Well busy day here in level six." She grinned and walked over to Raini, "Did you have owls bring this with you or does someone in the office have a surprise gift today?" Laughing she figured it was mostly the second of the two things. "Would you like some coffee?" Though the package was more interesting than coffee. She bent over it looking for a tag or return address, it was curious and big. |
Quote:
"They are not mine. I assumed you had a delivery?" But it seemed as though she hadn't been expecting anything. He watched as she inspected it. "I would never say no to coffee." |
Kaiser probably could have dealt with all these messages and meeting confirmations with interdepartmental memos. It would have been quicker, a job easily ticked off his never-ending list, but everything else currently on said list would keep him up on level one. Restless as he was, it wouldn't be long until he went stir crazy up there, so he leapt on the chance to make several trips and personal visits now, while he could. It was the passing along of a couple of fairly standard Minister-sourced memos to the department heads that brought Kaiser to level six, and he arrived at the reception area to find not only Ms Howard, but also the department head he'd failed to locate on level three, Mr Youngbird. Not intending to interrupt their conversation, Kaiser separated two identical memos from the stack - as loudly as he could, because he did have a tendency to accidentally lurk in complete silence - and waited. Oh, but... "Do you get surprise deliveries here often?" Not to be overly paranoid or anything, but. Well. That. It. ... Well. Kaiser cleared his throat, shut his mouth, and shuffled the memos in one hand, staying several steps back. "Sorry, I did not intend to listen in." Except he kind of had intended it, but that wasn't the point. |
She didn't see a return address but shrugged it off, her department got packages all the time, probably just an order she didn't realize she had coming. Straightening she grinned about the coffee, "Not the best of the best like other places around here, but I have cream and sugar." She walked over just as she heard the shuffling of the papers and then the question. With a big playful grin Anna looked at the younger man, "Honey I am all about the surprises." She loved a good surprise and good fun, so a mystery package brought on excitement. "Would you like some coffee?" Pouring herself and the other department head a cup she had another ready if Kiaser would like. "May I help you both with anything?" Handing over the cup to Raini and then taking out her wand and lifting the lid from the package. "Oh wow" Her eyes went to contents inside, setting her cup of coffee back down she beamed as she pulled out one of the carpets. "These are beautiful." Should she ask what the two men might want in her department, probably, but Anna got distracted quite easily. |
Raini Youngbird prided himself on being a rather observant person. Quietly observant most of the time, but it was a habit that made him much more in tune with his surroundings, and as such he grew aware of the young personal assistant from Level One, even before his rustling of his paperwork. He turned to look at Kaiser and gave him a friendly nod in greeting before turning back to Anna Marie as he accepted the coffee. "No need for apologies," Raini told the younger man. "There was nothing personal or secretive to be discussed. Simply paperwork to be signed." And that would be what Ms. Howard could help him with. And even though it probably was none of his business, his eyes couldn't help but to fall on the package as it was opened and contents pulled out. "Ah, magic carpets? It is quite lovely," he agreed with a nod. |
Speaking of surprises, Kaiser momentarily deadpanned at being referred to as 'Honey'. Not that it never happened, but it was just so far out of step with his constant internal monologue situation that at times it could be jarring. But - taking surprises in stride himself - he quickly recovered and nodded, and then again in response to Mr Youngbird. "Got it." Coffee. He was about to turn down the offer, but for no good reason at all. Caffeine was good. Caffeine was necessary. Caffeine might be disastrous with this restless state, but Kaiser sensed a sleep-deprivation-induced crash was on its way, so it was also welcome. "Yes. Please." He also had work to do too, so Kaiser took that opportunity to step forward, ready to pass one of the memos to each of the department heads. "From Level One. Mr Hollingberry asked that each head of department gets one," he said, in reply to Ms Howard's other question. Nothing urgent, nothing that actually required hand-delivery, but that was neither here nor there. Much more noteworthy? The carpet Ms Howard was holding, a magic carpet, according to Mr Youngbird. The corner of Kaiser's mouth twitched in vague amusement, a joke only he was on one. He had to agree that they looked nice, but then he had very little up-close-and-personal experience. He opened his mouth to ask what the carpets were for, if there was a note or something, but quickly shut it again. Speaking from experience, his curiosity was likely to be sated even without overtly butting into others' business. |
"Oh my, Oh my, where are my manners. I said about coffee and then boom was on another thought before finishing the task." She set carpet into the box and stood to head towards the coffee. "Ever ridden on one?" She asked the room, not really directed to one or the other. Passing the coffee around she looked at the memo that the minister was sending. "A personal memo from an actual person, this must be important." Though Anna wouldn't deny she loved the company, she always picked social over quiet any day. "What papers do you need me to sign? I think there is a quill on the desk right here unless anyone wants to go sliding into my office." She grinned, because that was exactly how one got to her office. |
Entering the room at a darn near sprint Nathaniel glanced around. Oh Merlin would it be totally uncouth to just skip the reception area? Awesome, no one was in the waiting area. Moving closer to the other offices he cleared his throat, "uh, 'scuse me. Anyone know where Anna is at?" He wondered if he should just start roaming the office to find her. He figured a magic carpet might be important. Did Transportation even know what was going on? Turning once more he flicked his wand allowing his Patronus to skip through the office looking for Anna in case she was in a meeting. He would hate for one of his co-workers to be hurt because of a carpet. |

Following it she found a visitor in the lobby. "Oh hello, is this yours?" Moving closer to the receptionist desk she noticed the man was a bit more stressed than she felt needed to be for such a lovely day, "Are you alright? Do you need to sit down?" |

She looked at him confused, all the carpets she had were in the work station in that box. She didn't think anyone had moved them, but before she could say anything he was off and Anna looked around as if she wasn't fully sure if this was a prank or not. Giving a shrug she decided what the hell, why not follow him for something interesting. |
from the atrium :3 Chloe had been irritated with Ronan's snide remarks that she overheard when she left the atrium, but she also didn't really have the energy to retort back. Because obviously she was well aware that there were other transportation methods besides floo powder, but it also wasn't about THAT, necessarily in that some people could only travel via floo for whatever reason. And whatever that reason was, was frankly none of her business. What was her business was why there was an apparent floo powder shortage. She wasn't sure if she should head directly to the floo network work areas, as a former level six employee, but decided she should probably do things properly and wait in the reception area. "Excuse me. I...." She looked back when she realized Lucas had followed along with her. "We... would like to speak with the floo network division. Please." |
Hi! ^_^ Lucas would be in strong agreement in regard to Ronan. He couldn’t tell if it was because the other man was an Auror and the fact had inflated his ego, making him think he was above all others or if he thought he was more intelligent than everyone. Either way, or any other way, Lucas did not care. He was mainly at ease except for the worrying situation he and the others had only just encountered in the Atrium. What an absolutely baffling one it was. He was only a step behind Chloe the entire while but when they arrived at the Reception Area, he came up beside her while she was asking for someone from the Floo Division. Lucas nodded in greeting to the Level Six employee then quickly glanced around to see if by chance there was anyone from the Floo Department milling around. |
