Need a break? A snack? A chance to stretch your legs? You can find all you need here in the level one break room. Located on the opposite side of the corridor from the private offices, the break room is an area for employees to sit, relax, and not have to think about work for once. There are plenty of comfortable chairs and tables for several employees to sit together and have a chat.
There is a full kitchen off to the side with a fridge, microwave, sink, and a long quartz countertop for food prep or resting your elbows while you watch your food cook. You can heat up food in a microwave or on the stove simply by tapping your wand on the appliance. Need energy? Grap a cup from the coffee pot or fill up the tea kettle to give yourself a boost. Just remember to start a fresh batch if you take the last cup of joe! All necessary kitchen supplies are in the cupboards and are restocked frequently, though it is considerate to do your part to keep this place clean and happy.
Take a break, take a piece of fruit from the bowls sitting around, but don't take someone else's lunch. And for the love of Merlin, remember to clean up after yourselves! This is a shared space, after all.

Of all the areas that required a little redecoration and personal touch following the departure of Mr. Fletchface, the break room took very little effort. Just a stocking of more of Genevieve's favorite snacks and an upgrade to the coffee machine, and she was happy. After YEARS dealing with the craptastic machine on Level 2, she was delighted to be able to choose her own model. Her own brew always in stock.
Most days, she'd send her PA to fill her cup, but Vivi wanted to stretch her legs. She also liked to open all the cabinets and stare at the snacks and supplies and make disappointed noises, the same way her children did during their times raiding the kitchen over their summer breaks. A lot of sighing and cabinet slamming. Maybe she could send someone out.

It was time for a coffee break.
Regina had planned to just stop by, grab a cup, and quickly be on her way, but that was before she entered and found scary Auror boss lady Senior Undersecretary James in the break room too. Opening and closing cabinets and sighing. That was...that might not be a good sign? Were they having problems with the break room too? Maybe she should leave?
But before she thought better of it, she asked, "Is...everything okay?"

"No, just making a show of being displeased with the snack selection. Which is ridiculous, right?" Vivi gave the younger woman a smile. "I bought these snacks. I picked them out. But I picked healthy snacks, good refuelers, lots of protein. And what I really want is donuts. Why didn't I pick donuts?"
The ones with sprinkles. They reminded her of summer mornings when Max let them all sleep in and brought breakfast from the local bakery. "You... work in the gift shop, right? Regina? Do you go by anything shorter? Reg? Reggie? Gina?" That sort of thing wasn't in the files.

Very aware that his and Genevieve's aesthetics were a bit clashing, Charles couldn't help but try and add a bit of his campy flare to things. Which was why when he stopped by a little vintage shop and spotted these adorable little jars...he picked up five to bring back for the break room. They were a little tongue in cheek as well, phone booths being the visitor entrance and the break room being a public space of sorts for visitors and employees alike.
"Genevieve, my dear, look what I've found! They'll be great containers for some of those new snacks I saw you writing down on your to-do list the other day. I've already taken the liberty of filling this one with black licorice pinwheels." He set that jar on the counter and was about to explain the second he had filled when his bright blue eyes fell on their darling gift shop attendant. "Ah, Regina. Lovely to see you. I hear and a certain Law Enforcement Officer are becoming quite the pair of peaches! I should remind you that, as Minister, I am capable of performing certain services should the need arise."

Charles was really killing the vibe of the place with his little tacky jars, but Vivi figured the floor was just as much his to decorate as it was hers. More his, really, and if he wanted the entire floor crowded with little Muggle statues, then... that was a decorating decision she would support.
"Those snacks aren't healthy, Charles. I thought we were only going for healthy snacks," she slammed the cupboards again for good measure. She wanted junk food too, but they agreed on HEALTHY SNACKS. "I'm pretty sure you're not allowed to ask your employees about their personal lives, sir."

Oh, well, that was...understandable. At least it wasn't a major problem. Snacks could easily be fixed. "Maybe we could bring in donuts every now and then? It doesn't hurt to have something unhealthy on occasion, right?" Er, not that she had a problem with the healthy ones. Healthy food was good too.
She moved over to the coffee pot, which appeared unfortunately empty. Who had used it last and forgotten to brew another? Ah well, she could make one then. "Just Regina is fine," she said, offering a smile. Her family sometimes called her Gina, but she'd found that she tended to prefer her name as it was, without any nicknames.
And then the Minister entered as well - it was nice to see him around again - with a few little phone booth jars. They weren't her style either, but they were a bit amusing in their own way, she supposed.
And perhaps it was a good thing after all that there had been no coffee ready, because she likely would have choked on it when the Minister spoke to her. How did he... When... Why... Um???
Regina felt her face warm, her cheeks turning a bright shade of red. She did appreciate the Senior Undersecretary trying to come to her rescue though. "Oh, um, it's okay. I'll- We'll...keep that in mind, sir. Thank you." It was a nice gesture after all, just, um, a bit soon to be thinking about all of...that. But she would tell Scott about his offer...at some point. Probably. Um.

For a man so infatuated with love and always offering to marry others off, one would be under the assumption that he was already seriously considering remarriage himself. He would be lying if he said the thought had never crossed his mind, but there was still a feeling of betrayal he could not move entirely pass whenever he thought about taking the next natural step with Victoria. Not a day went by where he did not still think about Yukie ... and on some days it felt like her passing had only been yester, if not mere hours ago. Charles Hollingberry was not a sad man, nor was he still wallowing in his grief. But there had been so much that he should havd and could have done better.
The regrets were permanent weights to his spirit and if he could not alleviate his own, then setting couples down the paths to their own happiness would nurture it.
Which was why he offered nothing more than a hearty chuckle as dear sweet Genevieve attempt to keep him in line again. A much shorter leash than Fletcher or January had ever kept him on. "It is the break room, Genevieve. We can all afford to drop some formalities every once in a while." The Minister smiled, offering Regina a bit of a wink as well, and popped open the jar in his possession to take out a pinwheel. "And I will have you know that black licorice is quite beneficial for the digestive system," he pointed out while popping the entire thing into his mouth.
"Regina, my dear, what are your thoughts on popcorn and dark chocolate? Separate or together, whichever you prefer."
Was it too obvious what the other jars contained?
