Behind this unassuming but heavily protected door, Unspeakables conduct research on one of the most mysterious and potent types of magic known to Wizardkind: Love. The door to the Ever-locked Room has been charmed so that no amount of Alohomora or magical pen-knives will permit entry. You might notice a pleasant or perhaps annoying scent as you enter. That would be the fountain of Amortentia located in the exact center of the room. To the immediate left of the fountain are workstations, cauldrons, burners and cabinets full of supplies and ingredients for the Potioneers to conduct their research. On the right side of the room are workstations where the Charmists perform their duties.
Caution should be used by all specialists working in the Love Chamber. Getting hit by stray spells or accidentally ingesting a potent love potion would probably not be what you had in mind for a day's work.
On one of her first day's back at the ministry Laurel wandered into the Love Chamber to look at the fountain of amortentia. A prohecy she had read before coming here had foretelled that something had happened, or was about to happen with the fountain. Laurel had always been intrigued by the idea of amortentia and how it showed ones likes or even loves. Crossing over to the fountain Laurel wondered how the charmists studied Loveeeee and it made her think of Adam. She missed him and his antics.

Another year, another day in the Ministry and Simon was back at work. Deciding to start off his rounds with one of his favorite departments, and the one he was particular about who he assigned to it, the security head made his way down to Level 9 after checking in at the atrium in passing. It seemed still early with the number of people he saw around, however he did come across a somewhat familiar face as he stepped into the Love Chamber. A faint whiff of lemon and old books coming from the fountain within.
“Good morning…” he greeted the woman with a polite smile.

Laurel was taking a closer look at the fountain of amortentia but at a safe distance so she didn't get love potioned when Simon walked in. Turning aroound to face him the blond woman smiled brightly "Good morning to you too Simon! Have you had a good vacation?" Eyes turning back to the fountain Laurel explained to Simon. "I'm here to see if a prediction was truthful or if it hasn't occurred yet. The prediction foretold that something was supposed to be off with the fountain of amortentia when we got back from vacation." It technically wasn't her area, but Laurel was curious about the fountain.

“It was enjoyable…and your own?” Simon answered, walking further into the chamber. The pleasant smell getting stronger the closer to the fountain he was. “A prediction?” he questioned curiously with a raised eyebrow. The Fountain being off? That could mean so many things and the security head wasn’t sure he wanted to know what was supposed to transpire. “Anything dangerous I should be concerned about?” You know for the safety of the Ministry and all within.
Or keep away from a certain Mysteries department head who had a propensity for getting into trouble with mysterious happenings.
Whether it were a quirk of the department, or the doings of someone who thought he needed an occasional break, the rotating mysteries door deposited Damian in the Love Chamber about once a lunar month. Damian would take this in stride, sit at the fountain for around an hour, and reflect before moving on to the Death Chamber.
Rubbing the sleep from his eyes with one hand, his other held a mug with the words "Give Me COFFEE Or Give Me DEATH" on it. Though it was obvious it wasn't coffee in the mug by the way it smoked. "What are you two up to?" Damian asked, knowing full well that the question could be turned right back at him.
With a yawn and a stretch, the well dressed wizard sat with his back to the fountain, taking a long drink from his mug.

"It was likewise enjoyable. Three young kids always makes things happen." Laurel answered with a smile. Especially ones with magical abilities. The pleasant smell emanating from the fountain made her walk closer to it. "Yes, a prediction. A woman in Leeds foretold that the fountain of amortentia was going to stop functioning properly." How or why wasn't specified, but prediction were usually never very specific. Shrugging Laurel said "I don't know, but it the fountain stops working then it's not good for the ministry."

Just now Laurel realized that they weren't fully alone in the chamber; Damian was sitting with his back to the fountain and drinking something that smoked. Giving her fellow employee a long contemplative look Laurel answered slowly and curtly for herself. "I'm just here to see if a prediction has come true or if it's still laying in the future." She did not like the tone in Damian's voice. Simon could speak for himself. As head of security he probably had more legit reasons for visiting the love chamber than Damian or her had.

Simon found himself softly smiling at her words about children and stuff happening. “Two young adults don’t do too bad themselves.” They would see how stuff progressed with Noah soon enough now that he was in the Ministry himself. “Yeah…not a fan of anything stopping working,” he mused. There was enough examples of that…like the floo powder. Or the lockdown of the ministry by the chizpurfles that caused them to have their departments spread all over muggle London.
Simon may have been quicker to notice the newcomer, not one to be snuck up on by a long shot. But as he recognized Damian as another Mysteries employee, the other man didn’t readily set off alarm bells in his head that something was amiss. The smoking mug was another story, an eyebrow raised slightly in curiosity. “Just the usual rounds..." he answered, taking note of the tone. "And yourself?" The security man keeping his own tone as if he was merely curious to what might be going on in the man's day.

Damian briefly met Laurel's gaze before looking to his cup. Not that he had anything to hide, quite the opposite in fact. Sometimes he'd inadvertently pick up stray thoughts, so he avoided prolonged eye contact. Days like these, legilimency could be a struggle.
"A prediction?" Taking a long sip, the smoke from his drink giving him the appearance of a billowy white beard. "A portent?" A few wisps of fog came out of his mouth. "A prognostication? A premonition? Perhaps even a prevision, presage, or prophecy?" After a lot of alliteration, Damian patted his vest pocket. "And here I am without my cards." Color him intrigued.
"Little bit of Love Chamber therapy. Helps remind me why I do what I do. Keep me out of getting lost in the dark." Addressing Simon with a nod and a tip of his mug, the unspeakable spoke a little more than he normally would. Perhaps the fountain was working some magic on the mortemist.
