How would you sort characters from other fandoms? Now we all know we’re here because of our mutual love and appreciation of the Harry Potter world, but what about the countless other fandoms out there? |
So I tend to do this to all the Jane Austen heroines xD lol Lizzie Bennett (P&P) - Ravenclaw Emma - Gryffindor Elinor Dashwood (S&S) - Ravenclaw Marianne Dashwood (S&S) - Gryffindor Anne Eliot (Persuasion) - Ravenclaw Catherine Morland (NA) - Gryffindor Fanny Price (MP) and my personal favorite girl! - Hufflepuff Lady Susan - Slytherin I also do the other characters, too xD but I'll post them later maybe! |
join me in this, pleeeeeeeeeease xD Okay so if you know me AT ALL you know I'm an Office (US) stan, and uh, here are my Sortings for the characters from there. :xd:
alright, that's it for me :loved: Side note: I found this article doing the same thing as me (pfffffft) but their Sortings are off imho hehe. |

I deeeef get slytherin vibes from Stanley boy. also excuse u for the "ew" x3 next to Ryans name!!! I lOVE him!!! BRUH. Why is kelly hufflepuff?? I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS. I'd lean hufflepuff for Phyllis. BRUH HOW IS ANDY RAVENCLAW I NEED TO KNOW THE REASONING because i'd 5sure give him a hufflepuff sort. I'd read a Michael Scott / Toby Hufflepuff fic. I'm down with that. Put Darryl in ravenclaw, he deserves it!!! the rest i agree with. thank you and goodday. I'll be back with my own later, probably |
I used to try and sort characters all the time in the past, but more recently I've found I only do it with fandoms where I'm super into the characters or just very excited about the whole concept in general (which doesn't happen as much these days bc I've grown old and jaded). P.S. I agree with Kate re: Lizzie's Ravenclawness but I don't know how to explain it so I'll let Kate handle that and maybe add more thoughts later. So to the surprise of literally no one, I'll be sorting my guys from His Dark Materials ^____^ And I'm not sorry for how much I babbled, because I loved every minute of this babble.
Now, the daemons (in-universe out of body animal representations of the character's souls). I think the daemons should reflect the house of the character, otherwise we've sorted the character wrong, but I do think that they can show a strong connection to a secondary house because human beings are rounded individuals. So, in my opinion, the secondary houses are: - Pantalaimon (Lyra's daemon, shape unsettled for most of the series): a Gryffindor/Hufflepuff. Idk. I'm struggling. - The golden monkey (Mrs. Coulter's daemon): lmao a Slytherin. Mrs. Coulter doesn't have a secondary house. I do not like the golden monkey. >__> - Stelmaria (Lord Asriel's daemon, a snow leopard): I don't know why, but she gives me Slytherin vibes. Maybe it's the regality, and the way she doesn't stop Asriel from doing the things he does (as opposed to Pan, who often reels Lyra back from her more terrible ideas). Honourable mentions:

Right right, so this is true about Creed, but ALSO, he is ALWAYS doin' crimes and getting away with 'em. Remember that Halloween party where he showed up with blood splattered clothes and passed 'em off as his costume? :shifty: Sure, I can make Stanley "Did I Stutter" Hudson a Slytherin. Hehe. EW BY RYAN'S NAME BECAUSE HE IS THE WORST, to everyone, but especially to Kelly!!! This is why she's a Hufflepuff, too. Because she still believes in love and all that even though Ryan constantly treats her like garbage. OK MOvING DARRYL AND PHYLLIS! Good day.
|
@Ariana : Lizzie is a total know-it-all in a RAVENCLAW sorta way. She also withholds her tongue a LOT in the book...more than any Gryffindor I know. She knows when to speak her mind and when NOT to, and I think she's a big overthinker in a Ravenclaw kinda' way. Also, the way she handles Darcy, to me, just SCREAMS Ravenclaw. the BANTER. Idk I have ALWAYS seen her as a Ravenclaw. @Ro lmao I like your assessments. I have no brain power to refute any of them. Other Austen (P&P) characters: Darcy - Ravenclaw Bingley - Hufflepuff Mr. Wickham - Slytherin Mr. Collins - Lydia - okay, bear with me....... Gryffindor Jane - Hufflepuff <3 Charlotte Lucas - Ravenclaw |
feel free to join! WELLLLLLL.... this is interesting :shifty: and I think I will going to use this opportunity to sort out Brooklyn Nine-Nine characters because why not?
|
Time for my other favorite Austen, Mansfield Park! I just have such a soft spot for Fanny ^_^ I sorted Fanny into Hufflepuff earlier, but here's the rest: Henry Crawford: Gryffindor, weirdly enough Mary Crawford: Slytherin Edmund Bertram: Ravenclaw Sir Thomas Bertram: Ravenclaw as well |
SPOILER!!: Dani omg I know nothing about his dark materials, but I could read your character analysis about the series all day. omg. You make me want to dive into this fandom now sos I HAVE NO TIME FOR THAT. But I really do want to see a fleshed out Ravenclaw villian and for that reason, I may have to SPOILER!!: roro Okay, okay fiiiinnneeeeeeee you can give Slytherin house creed. but i still love ryan ok. he's my favorite. I know he is horrible, but for that reason I love him immensely. I STILL DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW ANDY IS RAVENCLAW. He is big hufflepuff / gryffindor energy to meeeee. Is it because he went to cornell? IS THAT WHY? SPOILER!!: k8 Okay, okay I can see the Ravenclaw in Lizzie. I see major Gryffindor too, but that might just be due to how bold she is. But you make very good points, especially about how much she holds her tongue. As much as I hate it, I know Lydia would be a Gryffindor sort. It really hurts my heart to say it. But alas. ALAS. SPOILER!!: raven as you know, i have never watched B99 but Jake has the most hufflepuff face if i've ever seen one. idk why. it just makes sense to me. ~ ANYWAY i'm also here to do some sorting of my own... ft LOST ~ Jack Shephard: Gryffindor - He's like the quintessential Gryffindor hero archetype. The guy who wants to save everyone and the world, even though it's not possible for just one person to save everyone and the world. He's the brave guyTM. And also, I think being suspicious of others' intent and questioning things is a quality that I for some reason associate with Gryffindors. Which is something Jack does a lot of. cool. i've rambled a lot. Kate Austen: Slytherin - I've thought about this one a lot and I'm really back and forth between Gryffindor and Slytherin, but ultimately I'm going with Slytherin because of her qualities linked to self-preservation. Especially on the island, where Jack's first instinct is to save others her first instinct is to save herself. I think that's why I'd go Slytherin for her. Hugo/Hurley Reyes: Hufflepuff if I've ever seen one - He wants what is best for e v e r y o n e. I just rewatched the episode where he gets so stressed out because he's trying to accomadate everyone's requests and poor bub ;_; he just wants to make sure everyone is OK. Sawyer: Slytherin - This guy is the mega slytherin. He has a really big heart, but tries to pretend like he doesn't. He gives Slytherin the redemption arc it deserves. But he also knows exactly where to strike to make you hurt. And looks out for himself first and foremost. And steals all the best supplies from the plane right after the crash because that ambition drive is mighty high. John Locke: Ravenclaw - He's just out there marching to the beat of his own drum. So weird. I think he is really loony but he's also got a thirst to understand what's going on and really wants to KNOOOOW and understand the nature of the island. So that's why I go ravenclaw for him. It's that drive. Like the way he tore himself apart trying to get to the inside of the hatch. Even though he's the foil to Jack's "science is the way" and believes in leaps of faith and having hope, i think it stems from a ravenclaw mentality in this case. AnYwAy. I'll be back to do more LOST sortings, probably. I haven't even mentioned any of my favorite characters yet lOL. |
Yoooooooo, you have all gone IN on this thread and I had such a blast reading through all of these omg. idk man, there's just something so satisfying about sorting non-HP characters. :whaa: ok ok ok so while I've been working from home, I've been on a Gilmore Girls re-watch so let me just... ahem: Lorelai Gilmore - honestly, this is the one that has me torn the most and if anyone else has watched GG I'd love to hear your thoughts. My gut screams Gryffindor. She's courageous, has a ton of nerve and isn't afraid to take risks. She's deffo an act now, think later type. BUT she also gives me Hufflepuff vibes too. She's SUPER hard-working (hello, her blood, sweat and tears basically went into building that inn) and fiercely loyal. Rory Gilmore - straight up Ravenclaw. Emily Gilmore - Shrewd? Calculating? Trying to manipulate situations to suit her own needs? Slytherin, 100% Richard Gilmore - Ravenclaw? Hufflepuff? ugh, help me out here. Luke Danes - Hufflepuff for sure. Luke is the epitome of angry badger. He might have a grumpy exterior but he'd go out of his way and do whatever it takes to look after his peeps. Jess - He strikes me as Slytherin with a dash of Ravenclaw. Lane - She rebelled against her mum and joined a rock band. If that doesn't scream Gryffindor idk what does. Dean - This is another toughie because on the outside he comes across as sweet boy-next-door and could maybe slot nicely into Hufflepuff. But I don't know. He's made some quite questionable decisions that don't strike me as 'puff and has a bit of a manipulative streak. But I also can't see another fit for him??? Help. I'm inconclusive here. Logan - Slytherin. Are the Huntzberger's the Malfoy's of the GG world? lol |
Text Cut: Kate See, I knew you could explain it better than me. I want to HARD AGREE !!!!! with Mr. Collins as a muggle. He's the most muggle to ever muggle. I would like to challenge you on Darcy though, and offer Slytherin instead. I think he could go to either but when I first considered their houses I put him in Slytherin and I'm curious about your opinion. :3 I also think Charlotte Lucas would make a good Hufflepuff, but I'm good with her in Ravenclaw too tbh. Some more P&P: Lady Catherine - Slytherin Mrs. Bennet - Slytherin Mr. Bennet - Ravenclaw? What do we think? Text Cut: Ariana :loveskip: I'd LOVE that!!!!! One day we'll all have some free time and we'll be able to read and watch all that we want. :3 Text Cut: Gemma GILMORE GIRLS!!!!!!! My two cents: Lorelai - I see your Gryffindor and raise you Slytherin bc my gut instincts disagree with yours XD. For all of her courage she's just as manipulative as her mother, and at the end of the day looks out for herself and her own (Rory). I do agree that she has a lot of Hufflepuff in her (that 'unafraid of toil' line in particular really applies to her, she's the hardest working character in that show by a mile) but she's really hard to sort. So. Idk I have no conclusion here. Richard - I was super convinced he was a Ravenclaw my entire life but now you've said Hufflepuff and m8 I SEE IT. His marriage to Emily just makes him even more of a Hufflepuff in my eyes now. LSIDJFLISD. Hufflepuff? Jess - Ravenclaw. R a v e n c l a w. His Slytherin qualities still scream Ravenclaw to me. Dean - And I'd like to add: Paris Geller - honestly, I'm curious about your opinions. ____ Additionally, I think this is a good thread to bring up the Pevensie kids thing (Narnia). I remember reading (on tumblr, in like 2012 or something) that the Houses fit suspiciously well to each Pevensie child: Peter - Gryffindor Susan - Ravenclaw Edmund - Slytherin Lucy - Hufflepuff What do you think? I kind of have to agree with that very easy and very quick sorting but I'd love to hear what people think of this bc it's been on my mind for years. |
Quote:
Richard - RIGHT? On paper, he's a 'claw but so many times we see him peace-keeping and acting as mediator. Jess - I think it's the whole 'bad boy' persona that immediately makes me want to put him in Slytherin (misconception, not all bad boys are Slytherin GOSH) but RAVENCLAW I'm down for that. Love that Ravenclaw angst. Dean - I just...... idk, he definitely doesn't strike me as Slytherin. But I also don't see him in Gryffindor either. Maybe he fits into the 'she took the rest' category of Hufflepuff because I'm at a loss with this dude. Paris - PARIS. Hands down, one of my faves. She won't let anyone stand in her way and will step on all the toes to get what she wants. She's so ambitious it hurts. She says it how it is and isn't afraid of hurting feelings if it means she gets what she wants. I can't see her anywhere other than Slytherin, tbh. |
ACK SO MANY OPINIONS IN HERE THAT I WANT TO BOUNCE OFF OF!! @Ariana re: Lizzie - It's weird because I'd honestly NEVER considered her a Gryffie before you said it, and I can totally see it now! It's funny how that works. I also know Jane A. would be a total Ravenclaw, and I see a LOT of Jane in Lizzie because her letters just BLEEEEED Lizzie Bennet energy xD @Ariana re: Lost - OMG THIS SHOW I MISS IT SO MUCH. I also agree with all your sorts, tbh. @Dani re: Charlotte - I think her logic winning out over her heart makes her more Ravenclaw, but I know Hufflepuffs that do this, too, so now I'm like ???? lol idk, she just FEELS more Ravenclaw to me. @Dani re: Mrs. Bennet - Why Slytherin? She's another muggle to me xD lol Now, let me do a NOT Austen fandom.... CHARMED. Prue - Ravenclaw Piper - hear me out... Gryffindor Phoebe - Hufflepuff Paige - Hufflepuff Leo - Gryffindor Cole - Slytherin Chris - Ravenclaw?? bordering Gryffindor Darryl - Hufflepuff Penny - Gryffindor Patty - Hufflepuff also, just wanted to say, Leo and Piper ALMOST named their first son Potter to go with the P themed names of the Halliwells...and I WISH THEY WOULD HAVE lol |
Quote:
I definitely have Peter - This one I do agree with popular opinion on. Peter's definitely a Gryffindor through and through. I could potentially see Hufflepuff too, but I do think he leans more towards Gryffindor. His courage in fighting Maugrim and in the battle against the White Witch, his leadership in that battle and just in general with trying to keep his siblings together and also as king of Narnia... He's even knighted by Aslan so...chivalry? So yeah, solid Gryffindor. Susan - I mostly agree with Ravenclaw for my fave girl Susan too. She leans heavily on logic, especially with how she's portrayed in the Walden Media movie adaptations, and out of all of them it's hardest for her to believe in Narnia, especially in the Prince Caspian book when they come (and the movie too, I guess, but they mentioned it kinda briefly). BUT, that being said, I also feel like she's a good fit for Hufflepuff? She has such a big heart, and her heart plays as big of a role in her difficulty in believing as her mind does imo (like when she listens to her fear in PC and refuses to believe Lucy about Aslan). And I feel like she generally values heart and helping people over just pure knowledge for knowledge's sake. She's called Queen Susan the Gentle, after all. So I can easily see her in Hufflepuff as well as Ravenclaw. I think I would still lean Ravenclaw...but I'm torn. I feel like I talked myself into leaning more Hufflepuff now  Edmund - I do not agree with how my boy Edmund usually gets sorted :xd: To me he's definitely a Hufflepuff. In the first half or so of LWW, I can see why people think Slytherin because he wants to be king and have power over his siblings - but I don't think that's truly who he is, especially considering his redemption after he realizes the White Witch is evil. Ultimately, he doesn't want power nor is he particularly ambitious, and he proves himself loyal to Aslan, his family, and Narnia. And afterwards, he's known as King Edmund the Just because of his wisdom and fairness in council. He's the one who sticks up for Lucy in PC when she sees Aslan ("Wouldn't it be fair to believe her this time?"), and he believes in second chances, like with Eustace and even Rabadash to an extent. And like... Idk, I could probably go on more, but I don't want to write a whole essay in this post so :xd: Lucy - I can definitely see why she often gets put into Hufflepuff, but she feels more Gryffindor to me. I'm again partially thinking of her title as queen (The Valiant), but also in general she's just so adventurous and courageous, and she's stubborn, mostly for good reasons (like after she finds Narnia in LWW and sees Aslan in PC), but sometimes for not so good reasons, and it makes her a little bit rebellious (like when she isn't supposed to use the other spells in the Magician's book in VDT but she does it anyway). Buuuut for some characters besides the Pevenises: Jadis, the White Witch - I almost immediately thought Slytherin because power is definitely a huge motivator for her, but then when I thought a bit more about her backstory from The Magician's Nephew, I also see some potential Ravenclaw in her? She seeks the knowledge of the Deplorable Word to defeat her sister and destroy everything else in her world. But it's still definitely about power for her, and that continues when she arrives in Narnia as well, so yeah, probably still Slytherin I guess. Caspian - Hufflepuff for sure. He's all about fairness and equality for the Narnians, and that is his motivation for helping the Narnians overthrow Miraz. He doesn't want the throne, and he doesn't think he's worthy of it; he just knows that what Miraz and many others before him have done isn't right, and he wants to fix that. Eustace - Ravenclaw because he's such a nerd  Jill - I'm actually kind of torn between Gryffindor and Slytherin for her? I need to think on this more :hmm: Shasta - Hufflepuff 100%. Absolute sweetheart. Aravis - Slytherin definitely. She's so clever and cunning and great :loved: There are more I could do but this post is long enough as it is so I'll be back later with more thoughts :xd: |
duuuuuuuuude who doesn't love Narnia?! @Kate: Confession: I know actually very little about Jane Austen :xd: I've never been forced to read OR teach her so I've only read Northanger Abbey and honestly I think your Sortings for that one are right on! LOL @Dani: um I know I read those books 100 years ago in middle school but I'll be honest, they kinda disturbed me and I did not agree with the author's views on a lot of things but YAAAAAAAY your Sortings are great too! GO YOU! :glomp: @Gemma and @Ulfa: I also know nothing about Gilmore Girls OR Brooklyn 99 so XD GREAT JOB, U TWO! Sortings look GR8! THUMBS UP! :banajump: Quote:
Re: LOST... wow, u r making go put those DVDs in my cart right meow, arencha? ARIANA U HAVE SUCH GOOD TASTE IN TV AND THESE SORTINGS ARE PERFECT OK now do some of the Dharma ppl  Quote:
but yeah Brigett, sorry not sorry because Edmund is a Slytherin im sorry i am NOT gonna have him in hufflepuff he can get the h*ck out :hide: |
I can't stay away. I think this is my favorite thread! EEEEEE I'm gonna do the Clueless crew next! Cher - Gryffindor Josh - Ravenclaw? Bordering Slytherin, maybe Tai - total Hufflepuff Di - going with Gryffindor, too Murray - Slytherin Amber - I feel Ravenclaw???? Christian - Gryffindor baby Mr. Wendell - Ravenclaw Ms. Geist - Ravenclaw, too |
I LOVE THIS! *basks in all the awesome sortings* I'm going with the Dawson's Creek kiddos since I was watching recently! Dawson Leery- I was gooooing to say Hufflepuff, but I'm actually thinking Gryffindor. Dawson can be a bit narrow minded, he's definitely stubborn, passionate, and impulsive Joey Potter- Ravenclaw vibes, creative and studious, can be a bit of a cynic Jen Lindley- Slytherin or Gryffindor (hmmm) Pacey Witter- GRYFFINDOR! Jack McPhee- Hufflepuff baby! Andie McPhee- I'm thinking Slytherin for Andie. Perfectionist, driven to a fault |
I wish I knew the other fandoms you guys were sorting xD I would have more to pitch in! But I'm back to sort more fandooooms! I'll do one maybe others have opinions on - AVATAR THE LAST AIRBENDER. Aang - Hufflepuff (FITE ME ON THIS) Zuko - HEAR ME OUT...GRYFFINDOR. Katara - Ravenclaw Toph - Gryffindor Sokka - Ravenclaw Azula - Slytherin UNCLE IROH! - Slytherin And I have to do Korra too ^_^ Korra - Gryffindor Tenzin - Ravenclaw Asami - Slytherin???? honestly idk tho Mako - There's more characters in Korra, but I have seen AtLA more times than I've rewatched Korra, and I don't remember all of the Korra charrie traits! |
ooh, Gilmore Girls sortings!!! There's a fandom i can join in on :lmao: Quote:

Lorelai - at first screams Gryffindor, yes, but I definitely see LOTS of SLYTHERIN in her too. She's definitely a lot more manipulative (and like her mother) than she would care to admit  Richard - definitely screams Hufflepuff to me. Emily - Slytherin for sureeee Luke - Hufflepuff. He's got that angsty badger vibe down. But he is for sure always looking after his peeps. Jess - okay yes, ravenclaw. I could see why you'd want to say slytherin, but he's got the total brain and wits of a ravenclaw. Like that stereotypical brainy ravenclaw. but also got the angst toooooo  Rory - tbh, she seems straight up ravenclaw, but also, maybe gryffindor?? She's like the Hermione Granger of the GG world  Like she's got this adventurous spirit too, probably from her mother, .... she'd definitely be a hatstall and could totally see her as Gryffindor Paris - Slytherin!!!! yes, can't seee her anywhere but, tbh ... Dean - Hufflepuff, for certain, but i could maybe see him as a twinge of Gryffindor too??? _________________________________________________ Another fandom to weigh in on ... what about the six main characters from Friends?!? Ross Geller - Straight up Ravenclaw? Though maybe Slytherin, but my gut still says Ravenclaw Chandler Bing - Gryffindor vibes for sureeeee Joey Tribbiani - Hufflepuff! Rachel Green - Slytherin Phoebe Buffay - okay, she's definitely hufflepuff Monica Geller - i kind of want to say ravenclaw? but maybe hufflepuff cause of the food connection? |
okay, I was watching some Office clips, and I'm not sure Dwight is a Gryffindor?! He's SO GULLIBLE. I wanna say Hufflepuff ANYWAY. Quote:
I think Chandler could be a Ravenclaw, since he's always being sarcastic and witty! And I think Phoebe could be a Ravenclaw too, since she's kinda ~creative~ like Luna Lovegood. I also think Joey would be a fine Gryffindor. Actually, yes, he strikes me as more of a Gryff (like a Leo) because he just loves attention AND food AND being "chivalrous" with the ladies :xd: but what do I know, I have a Glitterpuff like this lmao. |
Quote:
Actually, I'm kinda game to accept this. He also acts on his own set of morale codes...which, yeah, flawed, but everything he does is calculated toward his end goal - and that MIGHT seem slytherin-y, but at the end of the day, he tries to do things because he thinks they are the right thing to do, and sometimes he does things that don't always behoove him. So. Yeah. I kinda like Hufflepuff for Dwight, actually, haha |
