This is a bit unorthodox but, this thread is dedicated to role playing random "What if?" scenarios with various canon and non-canon (established made-up) characters. This idea grew out of Erin and Kris' boredom one night when they found themselves unable to post in any of their 3-4 established Role Plays. The intended purpose is not to gather people but, rather, to play at the spur of the moment. I'd almost like to think of these rather like the EEFFDs where we challenge ourselves to RP a random scene in a matter of a night or so. Perhaps we'll come up with something we'd like to explore further in another RP but, for now...

"Of course I missed you. Your father isn't the greatest chatter in the world, so it was so quiet around here. I actually had the peace and quiet I needed to finish reading those dissertations on magical theory I've been working on." She smiled, and ruffled his hair. "Alexa Winston? She's a pretty girl. Why would a handsome boy like you be worried about being exclusive anyway?"

Brandon nodded when she mentioned about his father. He really was not much of a talker unless it was to push Brand into running or doing sit up's. He had to laugh as his mum messed with his hair. It was probably all sweaty from being outside in the hot sun. "I don't know why I want to be exclusive. I guess if I'm going to like someone I like to know that it's only me that they want to be with and that I won't be having to share them with someone else." he gave a small laugh, "I guess I'm just selfish like that hehe"

"That's not selfish. That's charming," Hermione looked at her son fondly, but her smile fell away. "I want to tell you something. Somethign I guess I should have told you long ago. Its about... your father."

Brandon laughed at her then his face grew somber and asked, "what about my father? What happened?" he puts his glass on the counter and moves closer towards her.

"Sit," Hermione waited until Brandon took a seat near her, and she picked up his hand. How to start... "Have you ever noticed that you have my hair, my chin, my sense of humor, my curiousity....? All these things from me....? But your dad..." She stopped. Her husband was a good-looking man, but he looked nothing like Brandon. It was a surprise he'd never noticed.

Brandon moved to the dining room table and sat down and looked at his mum as she took his hand. He nodded as she listed off how much he was like her, his mind wandering as to where this could be going to. "Yeah I've realized how much I look like you mum...but what are you talking about?" he asked curiously and a bit concerned

Hermione shook her head. She was a Gryffindor, afterall, but she couldn't seem to find the courage to tell Brandon. "He loves you, but there's a reason he doesn't look like you. He isn't... he isn't your father."

Brandon pulled his hand out of his mum's "Whoa! If he's not, then who is? I mean you do know who right?" he asked and turned towards her with a cold look in his eyes. He quickly does the math in his head and realized his parents, had been married longer then he was...."Did you cheat on father?" he asked pacing in front of the table.

Hermione tried to keep the hurt out of her eyes. How could her son even believe that of her? It was natural for him to be upset... She took a calming breath and reached for his hand again. "No... it was... it was against my will. We'd been married for about a year, and..." She wasn't going to talk about the incident. It was enough to talk about his father.

Brandon took his mum's hand again and his eyes softened "....and what?" he asked. "You can not just drop this and not finish telling me." he pleaded. He needed to know...this information changes his whole life. "Is he a wizard? Does he know about me?" he asked curiously and staring at her with his gray eyes.

"And this man, your biological father, took advantage of me. Yes, he's a wizard, but I don't think you need to know who. He doesn't know about you, and I just didn't want to lie to you anymore. I love you so much, and so does your father. I just... you had to know the truth." She put her hand on his cheek.

"Mum..." grabbing her hand on her cheek and holding it in his. "Please tell me. I need to know. I don't even know the full truth. Do I have any other siblings? Dang it mum this changes everything. I just find out that the bloke I've thought of as my father all my life is really not, and you will not tell me who my real father is."

"No... he is your father, if not in blood. He cares about you, Brand. It would hurt him so much to know that he isn't your father." She bit her lip. She shouldn't tell Brandon anything, but surely a few facts wouldn't hurt. "You have a brother. At least one, knowing this man, but this brother is legitimately his heir. You know him, so you see why it would be best not to dig any deeper?"

Brandon couldn't see how it was better. He had a right to know...he had a brother and he knew him! Removing his hand from his mum's he gave her a look of hurt and didn't say anything and just left the kitched and walked to the living room where he plopped down on the couch with his hands interlaced behind his head and tried to think of all he had just been told. His mother had been raped and she's only now telling him. He didnt know what to think about anything anymore so he just sat there stareing at the ceiling.

Hermione waited several long moments before she rose and followed Brandon into the next room. "Are you angry with me? For not telling you earlier?" She bit her lip before she sat on the edge of a chair across from him. "I should have told you sooner. I know that. I think I figured you'd know on your own and come and ask me someday."

Brandon sat up as his mom pulled a chair up by the couch. "No mum, I'm not angry that you didn't tell me sooner. I'm just confused and curious...which I blame you for" he says with a smirk.."I would have never figured it out on my own, I mean I had no reason to think differently, granted I've noticed that I don't have your's or his eyes but I never really thought anything else of it" then suddenly making a connection...."Do I have my father's eyes??" He asked hoping that the answer was no....there was only one other person he knew that had gray eyes.

Brandon just looked and stared at her. Finally rising to his feet he found words. "Malfoy?" he asked softly and uncertainly. "Draco Malfoy is my father? and Orion is my half brother??" he said getting a wee bit louder as everything was coming together and making more sense. He started pacing and running his hands through his hair. "Oh my gosh" he muttered.

Hermione put her hands over her face, determind not to cry. She hated that man. She hated his name and his face and everything about him. But he had given her the most precious thing in her life, so there was the conundrum. She'd tried to have more children over the years with her husband, but nothing had come of it.

Brandon walked in front of his mum and moved her hands from in front of her face and held them in his own. He kissed her cheek quickly. "I'm sorry" he said "for making you relive that but im not sorry you told me." Giving her a hug he said to her. "I can't stay here right now I'll see you later." and with that he walked out the door and back outside where his friends were still waiting for him. Feeling the need for attention he walked up behind Sasha and gave her a hug and gave her a soft kiss before joining back in the game.

Sasha had drawn away from the others when Brandon left to go talk to his mother. She had been looking at some strange flowers in the garden when she felt arms slip around her and a soft kiss on her cheek. She smiled and followed Brandon back to the others. "So, where were we?" she asked.

Brandon heard Sasha come up beside him and he gave her a smirk. Ducking quickly before the football (soccer i guess lol) hit him in the head, he called to the other guys. "Hey I'm not really in the mood to finish the game I'll see ya later." then turning to Sasha he asked "You wanna go for a walk?" he asked offering his hand to her.

Sasha smiled brightly. She'd been trying to get closer to Brandon for a while now. It was difficult because he went off to some boarding school he never talked about so, they only had summers together and he never seemed very interested. It was nice that he was finally starting to notice her. "Sure," she said, taking his hand and starting to walk away from the others. "So, what was that all about? It's not like you to miss out on finishing a game."

Hermione sat up once Brandon had left, studying her hands. She hoped that she hadn't made a mistake in this, because Brandon was too important to her. If Draco found out that he'd gotten her pregnant, he'd either want to hurt Brandon or want to take Brandon. Neither option was viable to her. Brandon knew better than to let anyone know of his knewly found information, even if he didn't know how ruthless his real father was.

Brandon gave Sasha a smile. "Oh it was nothing, just one of those mother things you know." he said giving her a wink and moving his arm to around her waist and pulled her closer to him. "Where do you wanna go?" he asked her looking into her eyes.
