This is a bit unorthodox but, this thread is dedicated to role playing random "What if?" scenarios with various canon and non-canon (established made-up) characters. This idea grew out of Erin and Kris' boredom one night when they found themselves unable to post in any of their 3-4 established Role Plays. The intended purpose is not to gather people but, rather, to play at the spur of the moment. I'd almost like to think of these rather like the EEFFDs where we challenge ourselves to RP a random scene in a matter of a night or so. Perhaps we'll come up with something we'd like to explore further in another RP but, for now...

"You're going so far away," Wyn wiped her face with the back of her hand, feeling the tears rise. "It would be easier to handle you moving across the street or even across the country, but an ocean..." She tightened her grip on Day even as she felt as if her grip was loosening for good. "JJ's heart will break," she sniffled helplessly, feeling that she could join her young son in heartbreak.

"I know but, we all need this. It will be better this way in the end," Day replied, wiping at her own eyes. "It will be hard but, you'll see... You'll be glad to have your family all to yourself and I'll be glad to have my daughter all to myself. No more sharing families," she laughed, weakly. "I've already spoken to Dumbledore about this..."

Wyn shook her finger at Day in mock severity. "You've been planning this for a while. You've been afraid to tell us. To tell me. When are you leaving? Do you need anything?" She straightened and wiped her eyes for the last time, her sadness put away.

Day brought her legs out from underneath her and straightened them out a bit whilst resting her back against the chair, smiling at Wyn. "Yeah, I've had this planned for a while now but, I just couldn't seem to find the right time or words to tell you. We are due to leave at the end of next week. Those Muggle Studies classes I took back at Hogwarts will come in handy as we plan on taking muggle transportation most of the way there. Dumbledore seems to think this best as there have been a few Death Eater incidents since Harry defeated the Dark Lord and he seems to think it best if they didn't get wind that I'd left. I'm still not too sure why it matters as they've never bothered me at all."

Wyn shrugged and pulled her arms around her knees, sitting like a little girl. "Dumbledore has always known more than anyone else. I suppose if he thinks this is the best course of action, I can't argue at all." Wyn fell over dramatically and put her hand to her forehead. "I don't know how I'll survive without you, Day. You know all the good cleaning spells. I'm a terrible housewitch without you."

Day laughed at Wyn's dramatics and shoved her a little. "That's only because I get so much practice with them at St. Mungo's and you refuse to lift your wand around here... unless it is in the kitchen. Now we are going to be in real trouble because you are the one with all the cooking expertise."

"That's what house elves are for, darling," Wyn rolled her eyes and perfectly mocked her mother-in-law, who had been aghast to discover that Wyn preferred to do a lot of her cooking on her own and that the cleaning and up-keep of the house had been taken up in large part by Day, another qualified and pureblood witch. "Honestly, I suppose I'll finally have to let them serve me. Poor things." She grinned and sat up. "You can have as many of them as you want."

"I think we'll get by just fine without them. Besides, I wouldn't want to rob Lex and Andi of their playmates. You know how much they enjoy playing dress up with the house elves," Day laughed and then, sighed. Just a few short days from now and they'd be on their way to their new life, away from the hustle and bustle of the Winston house...

Luna Lovegood was deposited into the Drawing Room of Grimmauld Place by several people unknown to her. She didn't really care who they were and she didn't really care where they had gone, being much more interested in the cabinet of curios and other objects around the room she'd been left in. She studied the Black family tree for long minutes, her tongue poking out of the corner of her mouth.

Fred had stalked into the drawing room earlier that afternoon after he had a disagreement with George over the marketing of a new gag. He had moved the couch to face the window and had laid down to stare out the window and sulk while thinking up a plan to get George when he fell asleep. He was still asleep when Luna had been placed inthe room, though neither of them could see each other due to the new position of the couch. Fred suddenly snored rather loudly, nearly waking himself up.

Luna heard the noise from the other side of the oddly placed couch and moved over to see what it was. It hadn't startled her, or at least she hadn't jumped, and she was pleased to find it occupied. She realized at that moment that she wanted to talk to someone, so Luna perched on the edge of the couch and waited for the red-haired boy to wake up.

He could feel eyes on him, even though his own eyes were still closed. It was either George, getting ready to pull some prank or Harry, just moping around as usual. Fred doubted anyone else would just be sitting there staring at him. Hermione or his Mum or anyone else, for that matter, would have prodded him or shouted at him to wake up. So, Fred did the only think he could do. He reached up his arms, grabbed the person by the shoulders and threw them down to the ground where he instantly got back up and held out his hand. "Sorry about that... er...?" Fred struggled to remember who this person was as he waited for her to take his hand so he could help her up.

Luna remained on the floor, looking up at this red-haired Weasley with her huge pale eyes. "Luna. Lovegood. And you're one of the Weasley twins." Her eyes slitted and she stared at him carefully for long moments without blinking. "Fred. You're Fred. Do you live here?"

Fred put his hands on his hips and looked sternly down at the girl. "Now how you know I'm Fred?" he asked, managing to say it with a straight face before smiling. "Yes, I live here. What are you doing here?"

"You're just Fred," Luna shook his question aside as if it were foolish. He was simply Fred and there was no one else he could be. "And I guess I live here too, for now." Her usually bland face crumpled in confusion. Luna, who always just knew things with certainty and faith, had no idea why her father had sent her here. It was outside of anything he'd ever done and as much as she had faith that there was a reason for it, here she was without him.

"Oh, that's nice. We can always use another lovely lady in the house," he smiled and then laughed. "Are you planning on staying down there all day? I'm not saying you aren't welcome to stay where ever you want but, I'm sure there are more comfortable places to settle down."

Luna looked at the floor as if she were surprised to find herself there. "I suppose I could sit on the couch," she agreed, climbing carefully to her feet and perching once again on the edge. "Why do you live in the Black family home? Does the Black family live here as well? And... is the rest of your family here too?" Her hand went to her blond hair involuntarily before she set it back in her lap.

"Um..." Fred ran his hand through his hair just as Luna did the same with her own, wondering how much he was allowed to say and then, wondering why he was bothering ot wonder that when he knew he'd just do what he wanted to anyway. "Well, number one," he began, holding up a finger. "I live here cause George lives here. Number two: the Black family does not live here. Number three..."

He now held up three fingers, "Most of my family lives here, yes."

Luna considered his answer. "And why does George live here? Don't say that he lives here because you live here. That's not really an answer at all, and then I'll know you're just trying to fool with me because you think I'm simple. I am simple, but you shouldn't take advantage of it." She quirked her lips in what was almost a smile. "But there are no living Blacks," she pondered the mystery.

Fred laughed and plopped down on the couch, draping one leg over the arm of the couch and leaning his elbow on the cushion next to the one Luna was sitting upon. "Well, now if I told you that, I'd have to kill you. So, tell me why you are here? And are you making dinner? Mum's out tonight and we're supposed to fend for ourselves..."

"I don't know why I'm here," Luna wrinkled her face again and felt that strange emotion once more - confusion. "Those men came, the bossy ones with Moody in the mix, and told my father that I was needed here. And he just let me come." She didn't add that he always explained everything to her, and this time he'd not told her a jot. "You really ought to have house elves do the cook. Its their inherited right as ancestors of King Langsdown to always always be permitted to serve Wizards. You really ought to read the Quibbler."

"I can't be bothered reading that stuff," Fred said, waving his hand. "Besides, we don't have house elves and it's more fun to cook yourself; always an adventure. And you can experiment with all sorts of new dishes. George and I came up with an interesting pickle and turnip stew the other night..."

Luna wrinkled her nose. "I don't like turnips. They smell awful, and even worse when they've been burned. But..." She looked at him appraisingly, "I bet you of all people would know that best. I bet you know how lots of things smell when they have burned. Hair, for example." She stared at the bald spot over his left eyebrow where he must have singed himself in an experiment.

Fred's smiled widened. "Sure, I know all about burning things. You mention an item and I'll bet I've burned it or at elast thought about it," he said, suddenly jumping up. "How about we head into the kitchen and see what we can find to burn up," he said, winking.

Luna accepted his outstretched hand this time, and was pulled swiftly to her feet. She nodded shortly and began to compile a list in her head of all the items Fred may have burned it his short life. Perhaps life in this dark house wouldn't be bad, especially if the Weasley's were there to keep her company.

*dances around* Now what? *grin*
