A generation after the defeat of the Dark Lord, the Wizarding World is starting to feel safe once again. Life goes on, children are born, and several rounds of these children have come and gone from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The professors have prepared for another calm year, but little do they know that someone within their ranks is posed to upset everything.

The year is 2037, and it has been 40 years since Voldemort fell at the hands of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. This RP will take place from the professors’ point of view, and I’d like to fill up as many roles as we want to before we start. After we’re set on who is playing who, we’ll fill the rest of the roles with names so we can all refer to the same people. References to canon characters are acceptable, although HP and co. would be almost 60 in this RP and Snape and co. would be over 80. Please provide as complete a history as possible for your characters, although the fact that this RP is for advanced players only means there is leeway for you knowing more about your character than you want to share at this time. Character secrets are great and encouraged.

Please PM me or MSN me if you are interested in joining, but a warning: all the RPers are advanced, mature members of this site who are prepared to devote time and enthusiasm to this RP. If you don’t feel you can post an adult character with good character development, post frequently daily and usually in the EST evening, or write involved posts that are grammatically correct and well-written, then please don’t sign up. We’re serious RPers and we get cranky easily. Some of us even bite.

They are beautiful though." she said as she glanced around. "How about I show you where the staff room is and then your room and I'll go get a shower and meet you in the staff room later? I'm sure the headmistress wouldn't mind speaking with you for a few minutes before we got started." Cass said with a smile and led the way through the doors. "Ok. the staff room is on the third floor, it'll be the room with people in it." she said with a smile. She led him to his office and then said her goodbyes and headed to her office to take a quick shower. When she was good and clean and had changed clothes she headed up to third floor to wait. Looking around she saw a group had already begun to form. Smiling and leaning against the doorframe she smirked, "Ah you guys started the party without me. How rude." she said laughing.

Ana put away all her belongings, happy to be back in a space that was solely hers. She loved staying with her family over holidays, but she wanted a place that belonged just to her someday. For now, she had to settle for this space, which she'd personalized as much as possible. Dark woods and delicate touches made her room feminine and comfortable, although few of her fellow staff memebers had even been in there. Of course, there'd been Matthew Keller, the former flying instructor, but that had never progressed to anything beyond a flirtation that she'd quickly nipped in the bud. It was a good thing that he left.

Ana shook out her long wave of auburn hair before tying it back up into a bun. Her hair looked much darker in its bun and lacked its shimmer, but she preferred it that way. She freshened up her clothing from the trip and made her way down to the staff room. There were few teachers in there, so Ana slid into a seat and studied the table in front of her.

Cole finished the run and enjoyed a scorchingly hot shower before dressing. He slipped into a white shirt, unbuttoned at the neck and sleeves rolled up. He'd never been one for formality, and it seemed a shame to wear robes before the students were back.

Once in the staff room, Cole seated himself quickly, noting the gathering crowd. It wasn't until he was seated that he realized he was across the room from Wei. He should have found a seat that had its back to her or was out of her site line, but there was no way to move now. Instead, he watched Mark flirt shamelessly with Aria.

Mark quickly left the two women, moving over to Aria's side. He smiled, moving to stand beside her. 'You look like you had a good summer,' he said, looking her over. 'C'mon, the party's just about to start. What'll I get you? Tea, coffee?'

It was exactly the worst moment. She'd just finished dealing with Mark when there he was opposite her. Cole. Her stomach did its usual plunge, and she looked rapidly away, following his eyes. Ah so it was Aria who prompted the sudden departure. She took a breath, looking around at Cole again. No robes, she smiled. Comfortable to the last second.

As he looked around, she met his eyes. 'Hi Cole,' she said her voice not too loud. She tried to maintain her smile, but it faltered slightly.

Cole turned at his name, recognizing her voice without even needing to look. It was like music; his name on her lips did things to him. "Wei," he nodded, knowing he should turn away and watch Mark flirt ceaselessly again. Why should he? She was the one who had moved out. She was the one who wanted to give up on this marriage, to walk away from 6 years together. He could watch her if he wanted to, because he wasn't the one who had ended things.

Aria turned to the male voice beside her. "Ahhh hey Mark. Yeah I did have a good Summer." she said smirking as he looked her up and down. She had to refrain from rolling her eyes. "guys" she thought to herself shaking her head. "I'll just have water, thanks" she said giving him a smile. "What did you do this Summer. Was it enjoyable for you?" Mark was a fun guy to talk to when his ego wasn't getting in the way. She gave him the subtle glance over and agreed that while he might not be the most intellectual of guys he did look really good. She noticed Wei went and talked to Cole. She wanted to give him a wave or mouth something. She just hoped he wouldn't set himself up to get hurt again.

Nikita was astonished at what she was hearing. Something was hidden. Surely, this would be important. As she thought about Professor Granger's words, she was taken by surprise by the Professor of COMC. Smiling, she nodded. "Oh of course, dear Professor. Please sit", she gestured him to do so. "I just started my breakfast, so it would be lovely to have company", she gave a slight nod.

'How.. How have you been?' she asked, droping her eyes from his. She could get lost in his eyes, even when he was angry. 'I've seen you running,' she continued flicking at the table with her nail, 'in the mornings.' She closed her eyes. Why had she said it? Talk about pathetic. She slumped back in her chair slightly.

'Oh a few partys,' he grinned getting her a glass of water, and topping off his own coffee. 'You should really come to one with me sometime.' Aria was a fun girl. He'd bet she'd liven up a party.

Edie was levitating crystal balls out of a trunk when she realized what time it was. She should probbaly go downstairs to the staff room to meet with the fellow professors. She reminded herself to be as normal as possible as she walked downstairs and entered the staff room. She took a seat by herself, looking almost longingly at the other happily chatting teachers.

Ivan entered the staff room and looked around at the availible seats. He saw Ana Granger sitting with an open seat next to her. He grinned and walked over, taking a seat beside her. "You're looking as beautiful as ever, Miss Granger. Have a good summer?" He said smiling.

Aria took a drink of her water. It tasted really good and she was in need of the hydration after her run this morning. "Yeah maybe I'll do that one of these days." she said smiling and then with a smirk she added "but how will I be able to stand watching you flirt around with everyone in a skirt?" she said pretending to pout and playfully rolling her eyes. She looked around and waved at Edie and Ivan whom she had just seen walk in and smiled at Ana. She glanced over at Cole to see how the conversation between him and Wei was going. He seemed alright and she gave a slight wave and smile at him.

Cole nodded, still watching her closely. She looked tired, but that was to be expected since she'd probably been up all night. Still, it seemed more than that. "Running is excellent exercise," he grunted, knowing he wasn't doing much conversationally. "I've... er... seen the light on in your tower when I run. You must have been up late a lot." The frown lines appeared between his eyebrows as he considered what to talk about, nodding at Aria's attempt to cheer him.

Ana looked up and smiled at Ivan's obvious flattery. "Ah, Ivan... you haven't changed either. Still fresh." She waited for him to settle into his seat before she pulled out her quill and a bit of parchment. "And how was your summer?"

Nicky appreciated Aria showing him to his office and quarters. He is surprise how large his room is. Of course it is small when compared to his suite of rooms back home, but it is considerable larger than the teacher's quarters at Drumstrung. He is also thrilled to find he has a fireplace and private bathroom also considered luxuries at his old school. After his long journey from London, Nicky decides to freshen up before meeting his new colleagues. How Nicky hated meeting new people in a group. He always feels like all eyes were on him when he entered the room, and he never likes being the center of attention. Nicky comes out the bathroom and notices the house elves have delivered his trunks and extra broom sticks. Looking at the clock, he decides unpacking his things will have to wait. He leaves his quarters, hurries to the third floor, and looks for a room full of people. Aria said the staff meeting would be in such a room.

Nicky arrives at the room and takes a moment outside to compose himself. He checks the pockets of his robe to make sure he has the letter from his Uncle Severus for the Head Mistress. He then walks into the room. At first glance he relizes he's over dressed for the staff meeting. Most of the people present are dressed casually. "My first day here and I'm already making mistakes," Nicky says to himself. At Drumstung the teachers always wear their robes except on formal occasions when dress robes are the order of the day.
Nicky scans the room, so many new faces. They obviously already know each other gathering from the animated conversations going on. Nicky notices Aria sitting over in a corner. A young man with floppy brown blond hair has her attention. From his mannerisms Nicky assumes he's the Casanova of the group. Down from them is another couple deep in conversation. The woman has beautiful auburn hair which she has carefully hidden in a severe bun. She should really let her hair flow freely. It would frame her beautiful face so well. She is talking to a man who must be Russian like Nicky. He has the same looks and mannerisms. Nicky is pleased to have a fellow countryman here at Hogwarts. The English can be so tiring at times. He then see Cole sitting at the table by himself. He seems to be trying awfully hard to watch Aria, but his eyes keep going back to the woman sitting opposite him. She too is trying very hard to avoid Cole, but she is also failling miserably. Nicky takes a seat next to this woman with long black hair. Again another woman who hides her beauty in a severe plait. Nicky looks at Cole who seems annoyed with him for taking the seat. He then looks back at the woman and then Cole again. Nicky wonders if she could be the something Cole is trying so hard to runaway from. Nicky looks to see if he sees anyone who might be the head mistress. Uncle Severus had given him a detailed description of the woman, and none of the women present match it. Nicky leans over to the woman sitting next to him and ask, "Excuse me, can you tell me has the head mistress arrived yet?"

"Thank you for your hospitality," Jett said, sitting down across from her and placing his crutches neatly on the floor to one side of his chair. "I don't believe that we've been formally introduced, but I'm Jeretty Prince," he said with a smile. "Most people just call me Jett, but you're welcome to your pick."

"Here you are, Mr. Prince," Tom said through his toothless grin as he set a plate with Jett's order on it before the younger man.

"Thank you very much, Tom," Jett said graciously. When the barkeeper had left, Jett turned his attention back to Nikita and said, salting his breakfast, "You seem very distracted."

"It was... nice, I suppose," Ana tilted her head and looked at Ivan. "I stayed with my youngest sister and her family, so it was a bit noisy at times. I'm actually looking forward to being back here for a bit of peace and quiet." She smiled as if she'd told a joke and shrugged her shoulders slightly.

Nikita smiled. "It is nice to meet you Jett, you may call me Nikita of course.. Unless you prefer to be a tad more formal, then Professor Poltsky is allright", she said as she put some salt on her eggs. "Yes, i am. In fact, I've been wondering about the new term. It is always quite the thrill, new students.. new professors", she said as she begun to eat. "How about you?", she asked Jett.

'Oh, well,' she smiled gesturing vaguely with her hand. 'Busy stretch. There was good observing.' She brightened slightly. 'Taurus is up, so I was able to get some sustained readings. It's fascinating. You see the planets are causing..' She looked up, blushing slightly and sat back again. 'Sorry.'

He was at a loss for words. Grinning somewhat sheepishly, he looked down. Taking a sip of his coffee. 'But how could I take my eyes off you?' he said smiling broadly. The room was starting to fill up by now. 'How about we get some seats,' he suggested, nodding his head at the filling table.

Ivan leaned forward and sat in his chair properly. He ran a hair through his already messy and still wet hair. "You won't have much peace and quiet once the kids get back here, though. Fun, though it may be... it's hard to find some free time when they're around. But if you uh... wanted some fun before the kids get here... you know where to find me." Ivan raised an eyebrow and smiled, then broke out into a small chuckle.

"I'm a tad nervous about the upcoming year, being a new professor, myself," Jett replied, stabbing a bit of egg with his fork. "I don't know if I'll be as active as I need to be with that blasted back brace," he said, tapping the hard plastic to demonstrate how uncomfortable it was. "Working with magical creatures seems to come easily, however, so it shouldn't be too much of a bother. What do you teach?" Jett asked, curious.

Nikita gave Jett a small nod, as she looked at him with interest. A back brace, now that was something that was rarely seen. Suddenly, her thoughts were interrupted by Jett's question. "Oh, I teach Defense Against the Dark Arts", she said with half a smile as she continued to eat her breakfast.

"So what did you use to do before you became a teacher?", she asked curiously as she kept eating her delicious breakfast.

"Professional Quidditch, actually," Jett said simply, his eyes twinkling at the memory for a split second. "Until this happened," he said, once again tapping the backbrace. "I was knocked off of my broom and broke my back in three places," he explained. "My parents insisted that I have a Muggle recovery and I think it was mostly because they wanted me to retire from Quidditch. Since it happened, I've had nothing to do other than be a stay-at-home dad." He pulled his wallet from his pocket and showed Nikita the picture of himself and his son.

"Any kids, yourself?" he asked her, putting the picture away once more.

Nikita nodded as Jett narrated his story. It was quite interesting. "I am sure you can still go to St. Mungo's and have that brace taken out.. and your bones mended", she said with half a smile. "That way, you can at least.. suffer less pain", she nodded.

Nikita continued to eat as she looked at the picture of Jett and his son. Where they muggle-born? She hid her surprise as she gave him a smile. "No, I have no children", she replied. "And what does your son do when you are at work here at Hogwarts?", she inquired with curiosity.

"That picture was taken a few years ago," Jett explained. "This is his first year attending Hogwarts, actually. It's rather convenient timing, when you think about it," he added, chuckling slightly. "He's not too thrilled at the prospect of his father being a teacher, but he'll get over eventually, I think," Jett continued as he finished his breakfast.

He groaned slightly as he lifted himself from his seat after grabbing his crutches and said, "It was very nice to talk to you, Nikita. I've had a pleasant time. I'm going to hobble back to my office and, by the time I finally get there, it should be time for school to start," he joked. "I'll see you later then?"
