This RP is the backstory for one of my school RP characters, Professor Doyle Branxton. I find it intriguing that he was a Slytherin, yet he was very much the goody two shoes. I'm guessing he was placed in Slytherin due to his ambition but, I really don't know all that much about him and would like to explore his history a bit more. I get to know my characters best through RPing with others so, I hope some of you will join me in the RP. Since this RP will take place slightly after the time of Harry Potter, I'm looking for mostly made-up characters, though some of the professors may or may not still be around (we can decide those details later as I don't anticipate the professors playing major roles).

The year is 2035 (39 years after Harry & Voldemort perish in their epic battle of good versus evil). It is Doyle Branxton's final year at Hogwarts and he is Head Boy. Interestingly enough, it is also the final year for a Hufflepuff girl (Nora Leiden) and a Gryffindor boy (Kobus Hendrik).

Note for those who follow the school RP: Zizhen would be a second year, Devine would be a first year, Hutchinson would be a 3rd year, and Yarns would be a fifth year.

I'm not sure how this RP will play out since it's a simple plot: Doyle's life and friends in his seventh year. I suspect he had several close friends and they didn't necessarily all have to be in Slytherin house. This probably caused some contention between himself and his housemates so, there's room for people to chose whether they want to be a friend or foe. Remember, he's a Slytherin, but he is rather prim and proper (or maybe that's just what we think

)

Please don't be intimidated. I'm hoping to include some regular members in this RP, not just my staff buddies, though I'm sure they're going to join up (or, I hope). So, jump in if you'd like to play along. If you'd like to join but, are having trouble coming up with a character, post anyway and we'll work something out.

Name: Doyle Branxton
Year: 7th
Birthdate: March 8, 2018 (so he's 17 at the start)

Looks: Doyle is six feet tall with black hair and blue eyes. He is a medium build and wears glasses. His appearance is always neat and tidy and it's a wonder he can even come out of herbology looking spic n' span.

Personality: Doyle is calm and quiet. He has a few close friends. Most people mistake his quiet, thoughtfulness for being shy. Despite this seeming shyness, he is well suited to prefecting though, he would prefer to listen in silence rather than participate in scuffles and arguments. He is very studious, excelling in all his classes, even though he doesn't particularly like charms (I'm not sure why not, yet). I see Doyle as being rather Percy-ish when it comes to his duties as head boy and being respected as such, though he's not quite as stuck up as Percy tends to come off.

History: There was some muggle blood a few generations back in Doyle's family, but there are few wizarding families without such interminglings at some point so, for all intents and purposes, he is a pureblood. Doyle was always interested in seeing how things worked, even as a young child. He displayed the typical signs of magical abilities in his youth and was, of course, given admission to Hogwarts.

It took him a while to make friends since he was sorted into Slytherin house and had seemingly nothing in common with his housemates. Despite efforts on the staff's part to promote inter-house relations, the other three houses were still wary of anyone in Slytherin house. Most of his friendships were formed with people from other houses, causing a further rift between Doyle and his housemates. Despite this rift, he was given the post of prefect in his fifth year, a duty he took to heart.

He is now a rather ambitious seventh year student and head boy to boot. He has aspirations of gaining employment with the Ministry of Magic and, as such, is studying hard for his NEWTs.

Ash continued to hold 'Advanced Potions' in front of his face as he listened in amusement to the others as they schemed. He had no interest in dating Leiden. It seemed to be that getting in good with Doyle was their main objective anyway. It was only a matter of time before one of them would put two and two together and realize what he had said earlier about his sister marrying Branxton's brother. It made them brothers-in-law after all. Ash wasn't about to point it out and spoil the fun, however.

He peered over the book and raised an eyebrow at them, "Ash does have a voice in this. I may be noble and kind," his lip curled up in amusement, "but I am not that sacrificing. What do you take me for, a Gryffindor? A Hufflepuff - god forbid? I don't date scary head girls just for the sake of others, sorry," he grinned. "Maybe I'm a romantic and waiting for the right girl," he added.

Doyle stepped into the front prefects' compartment to find everyone else assembled. He felt a twinge of nervousness and his hands automatically went for his glasses, which he began to clean. He hadn't meant to make an entrance but, all heads seemed to turn when he entered. But, once everyone registered who it was that came in, they smiled and greeted him and Doyle felt much more at his ease, putting his glasses back on his face. He looked around for the girl wearing the Head Girl badge and was shocked when he saw who it was. "Congratulations, Leiden. Did you want to start the usual proceedings or should I?" he asked, politely defferring to the lady.

Emil-Owich Mislotovich got aboard the Hogwarts express just in the last minute. The trunk, which he was draggin behind him, made bouldered and made noise every time he took a step, or it hit one of the walls. Walking further towards the middle of the train, Emil-Owich searched for a compartment that he could have all by himself. He didn't need or wanted any company. Quiet, alone in a compartment, reading a book - heaven. After quite a while, and almost at the rear and of the train, Emil-Owich found a compartment and seated himself in it. He quickly pulled out Brussels Book of Brutal Beasts and opened the book, at the mark he had made.

Nora was studiously ignoring the others in the car, so she gave a small jump at the sound of her name. Smiling dreamily, she hopped to her feet and ushered Doyle into the seat next to hers, despite the fact that there had been barely room for one there. "Hello, Doyle. I was hoping you'd be Head Boy. I'm not sure I could work closely with some of the other boys that seemed to be in the running." She nearly shuddered at the thought.

Kailee turned to Ashers. "If you start to date Nora...I dont know what I'll do yet but I'll think of something." She said with a grin. She patted Ashers shoulder. "Its good to know that some guys actually have standards."

"Oh, so that is the case. You've already fallen for another girl and can't be seen flirting with Nora otherwise your girl will see." Clara smiled as she drew out two hearts by Ash's name in her book. She'd figure out who the girl was. Definitely not Kailee - far too forward of a girl. And not Crystal - too forward and too much like a sister. He was smarter than that.

"Ah, right. Well, then I guess first things first," Doyle said, taking Leiden's apparent disregard of his question as his cue to move on. He had no idea how Leiden had made prefect let alone Head Girl. "Congratulations to the new prefects, you are joining the ranks of those few students who were worthy to bear the badge. You have high expectations to live up to and I hope each of you will bear that burden with pride and humility. Now, I have the list of new common room passwords for you..."

Doyle fumbled through his bag, trying to remember 1) where he put it and 2) what else he was supposed to tell the prefects. For some reason, his brain had gone a little numb. Surely he hadn't been this nervous when he first gained the position of prefect. "Leiden, do you have yours? I can't... seem..." he asked as he took out a large stack of parchment and began thumbing through it to find the elusive bit he needed.

"Yes, of course, dear," Nora flipped through the parchment roles in her own bag in search of the letter containing the password list. She'd had it earlier, so it must be here still. "We make an excellent team, don't you think?"

"Quite," Doyle dryly replied and extracted a piece of parchment, determined not to make the same mistake ever again. "These are the new passwords," he said, handing Slytherin's to the Slytherin prefects, Gryffindor's to the Gryffindors, etc. "In addition to the new passwords..." Doy continued on with the rest of the Head Boy and Girl speech without another mishap. "And so, now it is our duty to patrol the train and maintain order. Any questions?"

Nora popped to her feet and leaned against Doyle. "Pair up by house and year, and I'll pair with Doyle." She gave him a broad smile before fixing the prefects with a look that told them to get on their way. "Try to keep anyone from blowing up the loo again, please."

Doyle did not want, nor need to be paired up with anyone, least of all: Nora Leiden. He sighed as she cozied up next to him as if they were a couple or something. The prefects scampered off, some sniggering, others sending him apologizing looks. "Let's patrol, then," he said, trying to politely extract himself.

Asher should have known that Clara would jump to such a conclusion. He saw her write something in her book and knew this would not be forgotten. Inwardly he sighed, though he figured that mysterious girlfriends were a better gossip topic then others that could be said of him. "I'll let you figure that out Clara dear," he said aloud, "I wouldn't want to spoil your fun," he winked at the girl. "Though Coop here is the girl magent - not me."

"I wonder when the food trolly will get here," he said taking a peek at his watch.

Lorcan was still walking through the halls causing trouble. He was quite irked that he had not been able to find any of his close friends yet. He knew they must be around, but there were so many people, it must have been easy to miss them.

Once he found the food trolley he stopped. He considered nabbing something, but figured he wouldn't get away with it, as the woman had a wand. "I'll take some Droobles," he said, reaching for his money pouch.

"Is the sweet old food trolley lady your lady?" Clara laughed, snapping her notebook shut. "I do believe she is just outside there." She pointed with her Quill. "Coop, did you hear him call you a girl magnet?" Clara pretended to be stuck to him. "Everyone knows that girls use you to try and get in close with Ash. He's the mysterious one. The untouchable. Everyone knows that." Pushing Coop's button, so much fun.

Brennan scoffed and twirled Clara's hair with one finger. "Asher must be mistaken, Belle. You're not drawn to me at all, so clearly I'm not the girl magnet he accuses me of being. He must have me confused for a dark and mysterious Head Boy." His lip curled slightly at his own words.

"Of course," Nora held out a hand, demanding he show himself to be a gentleman by helping her to her feet. "I think we have a rather bright group of prefects this year, don't you?"

"Yes, certainly," Doyle responded, taking her hand and helping her to her feet. "But, I'm more concerned with ensuring the non-prefected students keep in line this term."

Doyle held the door to the compartment open and waited for her to pass through before shutting it. He took in a deep breath and prepared for being seen with Nora Leiden. He could just imagine the teasing. He was used to it but, as a Slytherin Head Boy, he anticipated much more since he would need to spend a lot of time with the odd Hufflepuff girl.

"You guessed it! Great job Clara! If the lady has food, then she's mine," Ash replied, standing up. He picked up the same bitter tone in Coop's words that he noticed earlier and knew that futher teasing by Clara would only make his friend's mood worse. "Coop, coming with?" he asked, raising his eyebrows as if to say 'lets get out of here,' and slipped the door of the compartment open and stepped into the corridor.

"I'm alright," Ash smiled encouragingly, though his complexion was somewhat paler then normal. He bought a few pumpkin pasties and cauldron cakes from the food trolly lady."These things never go down well on an empty stomach," he said quietly, making a face. He quickly reached into his robe, took a sip from a small vial and replaced it, his coloring becoming noticeably pinker. "Nasty stuff," he added and took a bite from a cauldron cake. "Besides, I had to get away from all their scheming," he rolled his eyes. "Want some?" he offered holding out some cake to his friend.

Crystal passed the boys as she headed back into the compartment. She had been at the food trolley. "Clara! Guess what I just saw! My Branxy with Nora!... in a compartment! alone!. What a foul creature, hitting on him... Come on we must go. We might get you a story on the way."

Crystal said pulling at Clara's hand and taking her out of the compartment, "You are welcome to come with us if you want Kay," she trailed off as she left. Crystal headed towards the compartment in which Nora and Doyle were both sitting in. She slid open the door and plonked her bum on a seat beside Doyle, hoping Clara would hurry up. "Hope you don't mind."

Emil-Owich was up, wandering the train corridor. He was acctually looking for the food trolley, but without succes - so far. He glanced into the compartments he passed, not wanting to interupt their fun. After walking for about 2 minutes something caught his eye. The HeadBoy Badge. Doyle Braxton had recieved it. Good for him, Emil-Owich thought to himself and stopped. He could atleast congratulate him. Just as he was about to speak, Emil-Owich bumped into a girl he regocnized to be somone from Slytherin. "Oh Sorry" he said, a bit of eastern accent in his voice..

Clara popped up and followed after Crystal. She was such a pistol sometimes, that Crystal. But, drama seemed to follow the girl and so Clara did as well. The Head Boy and Head Girl were just ahead, assumably starting their rounds.

Clara was just about to throw a warm congratulations to Nora when a Ravenclaw bumped into her. Calmly, Clara popped open her notebook and made a note. "Emil, darling, how about watching where you are going? Don't want to hurt someone, hun." Sugar couldn't melt in her mouth. She made an overexaggerated wink at him and nudged Crystal. He was cute enough for her and Crystal loved boys...

Crystal broke her gaze from Branxton for a slight moment to see what Clara was fussing over, and couldn't help but smile at what she saw in front of her. "You could so have him, Clara dear. We'll get it arranged when we get to school. Promise," Crystal squeaked.

"Oh Congradulations Nora," She said getting up for a slight moment to pet the girls shoulder, "I hope Branxton isn't making your job to hard to do, I mean I would find it hard if I was having to work and see him most of the time," Crystal giggled slightly to Clara and then returned to face Leiden.

"Yes, thank you, Crystal," Nora said primly, straigtening her skirt and jumper before she inched closer to Doyle. "I assure you that Doyle has been an angel to work with so far. They couldn't have planned a better team, I don't think. Although I..." Nora did not gossip, so she stopped the snippy comment that almost issued forth from her lips.

Brennan took the rest of the cake and compressed it before eating it. Must minimalize the crumb to jumper ratio if at all possible. "Those two are fairly insufferable. Nice work deflecting them, but you could have avoided directing them at me again. I don't want to have anything to do with Leiden, and I can already see the wheels in Belle's head turning. I say we go this plan alone. Kail is much more desirable for a chap like Branxton than Zitzburg."
