This RP is the backstory for one of my school RP characters, Professor Doyle Branxton. I find it intriguing that he was a Slytherin, yet he was very much the goody two shoes. I'm guessing he was placed in Slytherin due to his ambition but, I really don't know all that much about him and would like to explore his history a bit more. I get to know my characters best through RPing with others so, I hope some of you will join me in the RP. Since this RP will take place slightly after the time of Harry Potter, I'm looking for mostly made-up characters, though some of the professors may or may not still be around (we can decide those details later as I don't anticipate the professors playing major roles).

The year is 2035 (39 years after Harry & Voldemort perish in their epic battle of good versus evil). It is Doyle Branxton's final year at Hogwarts and he is Head Boy. Interestingly enough, it is also the final year for a Hufflepuff girl (Nora Leiden) and a Gryffindor boy (Kobus Hendrik).

Note for those who follow the school RP: Zizhen would be a second year, Devine would be a first year, Hutchinson would be a 3rd year, and Yarns would be a fifth year.

I'm not sure how this RP will play out since it's a simple plot: Doyle's life and friends in his seventh year. I suspect he had several close friends and they didn't necessarily all have to be in Slytherin house. This probably caused some contention between himself and his housemates so, there's room for people to chose whether they want to be a friend or foe. Remember, he's a Slytherin, but he is rather prim and proper (or maybe that's just what we think

Please don't be intimidated. I'm hoping to include some regular members in this RP, not just my staff buddies, though I'm sure they're going to join up (or, I hope). So, jump in if you'd like to play along. If you'd like to join but, are having trouble coming up with a character, post anyway and we'll work something out.

Name: Doyle Branxton
Year: 7th
Birthdate: March 8, 2018 (so he's 17 at the start)

Looks: Doyle is six feet tall with black hair and blue eyes. He is a medium build and wears glasses. His appearance is always neat and tidy and it's a wonder he can even come out of herbology looking spic n' span.

Personality: Doyle is calm and quiet. He has a few close friends. Most people mistake his quiet, thoughtfulness for being shy. Despite this seeming shyness, he is well suited to prefecting though, he would prefer to listen in silence rather than participate in scuffles and arguments. He is very studious, excelling in all his classes, even though he doesn't particularly like charms (I'm not sure why not, yet). I see Doyle as being rather Percy-ish when it comes to his duties as head boy and being respected as such, though he's not quite as stuck up as Percy tends to come off.

History: There was some muggle blood a few generations back in Doyle's family, but there are few wizarding families without such interminglings at some point so, for all intents and purposes, he is a pureblood. Doyle was always interested in seeing how things worked, even as a young child. He displayed the typical signs of magical abilities in his youth and was, of course, given admission to Hogwarts.

It took him a while to make friends since he was sorted into Slytherin house and had seemingly nothing in common with his housemates. Despite efforts on the staff's part to promote inter-house relations, the other three houses were still wary of anyone in Slytherin house. Most of his friendships were formed with people from other houses, causing a further rift between Doyle and his housemates. Despite this rift, he was given the post of prefect in his fifth year, a duty he took to heart.

He is now a rather ambitious seventh year student and head boy to boot. He has aspirations of gaining employment with the Ministry of Magic and, as such, is studying hard for his NEWTs.

Kailee looked around and nodded. "Yeah I don't see her either. Alright I'll head up and hide these under her pillow" She told them before heading up to the girls dorm.

She walked over to Clara's bed and took the textbooks from her own bag and placed them under the pillow and made it so she couldn't see them. She walked back to the common room. "Alright done." She told them sitting down on one of the couches.

"I never had one," he replied in an uncharacteristic mumble. Doyle shifted in his seat and took off his glasses to clean them. This conversation was making him uncomfortable for some reason. Who cared if he'd had a girlfriend before or not? Those kinds of things didn't matter when it came down to what he was aspiring to be. In fact, ex-girlfriends were a notorious hinderance.

"Then we have that in common," Clara smiled as she spoke. "There's really nothing wrong with that, you know. Ex's can get messy and who really has time for that? There's lots of more important things. For instance... journalism."

Brennan pulled Kail into his lap and stared moodily at the fire. He wanted to go back and read the rest of the journal without his crew, but there was no way to pull it off without questions being raised. "I guess... we have afternoon classes."

Kail laid her head against Bren's shoulder when he pulled her in his lap. "That's true, we do." She sat up and looked at him. "When did you want to read the rest of the entries?" She asked him curiously.

"Maybe tomorrow. There's only so much she could have written in the first day or so, so we might as well make it last as long as we can," he shrugged it off as if it didn't matter. "I could look them over ahead of time if you want."

"Nah there's really no need to read ahead I would think. After all, like you said, there's only so much she could have written the first day. Why rush?" She smirked and looked at him. "Unless of course you're just curious as to what else she wrote about you."

"Cool it, Kail," he poked her and frowned severly. "Anyway, let's just go back after dinner and read some more. We can hold onto them as long as we need even after we're done reading the first time."

Fabian's eyes flicked back and forth between the two as they argued, well it was obvious. Atleast for him.. he wouldn't mind not knowing what clara wrote about him, then again reading requires time and he barely has any left during the day nor night. Beaming interestingly as Kail was shoved near him placing an arm around her neck, flicking his right eyebrows in greeting. "Yea. Why do you presist in tormenting me?" letting out a low chuckle "After dinner sounds good, if i don't catch a closet appointment".

"I can leave you two alone," he was still grumbling as he punched one of the cushions. He needed time to be alone and think anyway, somewhere without all their commotion and annoying habits. "Don't you think there's a charm we could put on the notebook to copy all future entries for us?"

Kail rolled her eyes and chuckled at Fabi. That guy never changed. "After dinner sounds good and I'm sure their's a duplicating spell. I remember reading about one. I'll try to see if I can find it if you want."

Kailee raised an eyebrow at Fabi. "A closet appointment. You make it sound like your random make out sessions are actually organized. 'Well I have Sarah at 7:10 and Mandy at 7:45, but Sarah has weird teeth so I might cut her short and I can squeeze you in at 7:20." She said teasingly. She ruffled Fabi's hair. He was a goober.

"Yea there is a charm to have it copy" replied Fabian knowing for sure there was one but not knowing the spell nor the casting procedure. Instead he hollared with laughter at Kia's comment "Right" he managed inbetween breaths "I wish it was easy as that though, i would be in heaven by now" rolling his eyes without her seeing. "But you girls make it difficult... Wait let me fix my bangs .. or wait .. i need more lipgloss. You waste so much time " poking her arm gently.

"Could we NOT flirt now? There are bigger issues here. I'm looking for something to copy future entries. They'd have to send them somewhere or... something. Her having the copies doesn't do us a bit of good." Brennan rubbed his chin.

Kail stuck her tongue out at Bren and refrained, somehow, from giggling at Fabi and actually tried to think up something. "Maybe something like a pensieve. Charm the notebook so that future entries can be stored there and then we lock it and put it somewhere no one else would know. It can even have a warning label on it 'Keep out of reach from small children and Fabian.' Who knows what you'd do with it." She teased poking him back for earlier.

Fabian gawked at Bren for a moment, sometimes he was serious more than necessary - life sometimes needs a good humour or two. Desciding to cut it off, he wrinkled his nose momentarily then leaned back trying to register what Kail was saying. "ooo. That sounds sophisticated" glancing at Kail snoopily, Whats he got to do with it? "Unless you save girl's phone numbers or names. I don't think I'll touch it! Then again, I'm refraining from flirting".

"It's more likely that you'll decide it's the prettiest cup ever and just keep drinking our journal entries," Bren smiled at that. Clark wasn't brilliant, but he had his strengths. Kail... you want to do research on that? I think we could use this to our advantage."

Kail made a weird face. "That could have some....interesting side effects." Kailee chuckled and patted Fabi's head. "Sure, I'll see what I can find in the library." She said nodding to Bren.

"How about we get dinner now and then we can read a few more entries and then starting tomorrow during freetime I'll go to the library and start on the research and get back with you?" She suggested.

He let out a low whistle "Then don't make the cup very pretty and don't let me mistake it as one of your gel goblets" fixing his hair after Kail's head pat not wanting to imagine what happens or how to give back the information after he drinks it, as if he needed the extra stress of watching what to drink from now on.

"Yea, Lets have dinner" he replied with an agreeing nod "we can't miss that. Did you want help with the reeeeessssearch Kail?" flicking his right eyebrow agian.

Brennan wished Clark would point his powers of flirtation at someone else already. "I am hungry. Let's put off reading anymore until tomorrow, after we start planning our researching angle." He wanted time to figure out what he would say if Clara said anything else... embarassing.

Kail gave a shrug to Fabi. "I don't know yet. I'll want to see on how much I think is going to be necessary. If I do though, I'll let you know." She smiled at his offer. "However, I wouldn't want to cramp your busy closet schedule. I know some closet spaces require a few hours advance notice."

She nodded to Bren. "Dinner it is then." She got up off the couch and fixed her hair.

"I see your well informed with closet appointments" he replied holding a combination of a smirk and smile. "How come you don't fancy being a news reporter?" he asked fixing his tie and sweater. "Anything for my Kail" flicking his eyebrow with a smile showing no need to be thankful to help in anyway.

He glanced at Bren and Kai before lifting himself up in preperation to head towards dinner.
