This RP is the backstory for one of my school RP characters, Professor Doyle Branxton. I find it intriguing that he was a Slytherin, yet he was very much the goody two shoes. I'm guessing he was placed in Slytherin due to his ambition but, I really don't know all that much about him and would like to explore his history a bit more. I get to know my characters best through RPing with others so, I hope some of you will join me in the RP. Since this RP will take place slightly after the time of Harry Potter, I'm looking for mostly made-up characters, though some of the professors may or may not still be around (we can decide those details later as I don't anticipate the professors playing major roles).

The year is 2035 (39 years after Harry & Voldemort perish in their epic battle of good versus evil). It is Doyle Branxton's final year at Hogwarts and he is Head Boy. Interestingly enough, it is also the final year for a Hufflepuff girl (Nora Leiden) and a Gryffindor boy (Kobus Hendrik).

Note for those who follow the school RP: Zizhen would be a second year, Devine would be a first year, Hutchinson would be a 3rd year, and Yarns would be a fifth year.

I'm not sure how this RP will play out since it's a simple plot: Doyle's life and friends in his seventh year. I suspect he had several close friends and they didn't necessarily all have to be in Slytherin house. This probably caused some contention between himself and his housemates so, there's room for people to chose whether they want to be a friend or foe. Remember, he's a Slytherin, but he is rather prim and proper (or maybe that's just what we think

)

Please don't be intimidated. I'm hoping to include some regular members in this RP, not just my staff buddies, though I'm sure they're going to join up (or, I hope). So, jump in if you'd like to play along. If you'd like to join but, are having trouble coming up with a character, post anyway and we'll work something out.

Name: Doyle Branxton
Year: 7th
Birthdate: March 8, 2018 (so he's 17 at the start)

Looks: Doyle is six feet tall with black hair and blue eyes. He is a medium build and wears glasses. His appearance is always neat and tidy and it's a wonder he can even come out of herbology looking spic n' span.

Personality: Doyle is calm and quiet. He has a few close friends. Most people mistake his quiet, thoughtfulness for being shy. Despite this seeming shyness, he is well suited to prefecting though, he would prefer to listen in silence rather than participate in scuffles and arguments. He is very studious, excelling in all his classes, even though he doesn't particularly like charms (I'm not sure why not, yet). I see Doyle as being rather Percy-ish when it comes to his duties as head boy and being respected as such, though he's not quite as stuck up as Percy tends to come off.

History: There was some muggle blood a few generations back in Doyle's family, but there are few wizarding families without such interminglings at some point so, for all intents and purposes, he is a pureblood. Doyle was always interested in seeing how things worked, even as a young child. He displayed the typical signs of magical abilities in his youth and was, of course, given admission to Hogwarts.

It took him a while to make friends since he was sorted into Slytherin house and had seemingly nothing in common with his housemates. Despite efforts on the staff's part to promote inter-house relations, the other three houses were still wary of anyone in Slytherin house. Most of his friendships were formed with people from other houses, causing a further rift between Doyle and his housemates. Despite this rift, he was given the post of prefect in his fifth year, a duty he took to heart.

He is now a rather ambitious seventh year student and head boy to boot. He has aspirations of gaining employment with the Ministry of Magic and, as such, is studying hard for his NEWTs.

"I was merely pointing out the unliklihood that someone would attempt to take your life. But, I suppose you don't really want my help in recovering your books, despite the fear for your life," Doyle sighed, not really sure how this conversation had gotten to where it was at.

"You really don't understand girls at all, do you? Here, I'll spell it out to you exactly what I want. I want you to remain my friend despite anything that journal may or may not say." Clara twirled a curl impatiently, looking up and down the corridor.

"Oh," Doyle said, not really having ever realized that they'd been friends at all. Sure, they talked and she wasn't as vile as the rest of Cooper's gang but, he'd always considered her one of Cooper's gang and they certainly weren't his friends, even if they were trying very hard to befriend him this term. "Well, I can promise you that I will not hold anything you wrote in your private journals against you should I hear any of the contents. Besides, since I will not read them should I come across them, I would have no way to verify that whatever someone told me was something you had actually written or just something ficticious to either bait me or make you look unbecoming."

Doyle wouldn't have to see it to know that she'd written it. "Then, you'll promise that?" Clara stook out her hand, making it a deal.

"Of course," Doyle said with an emphatic nod of his head as he took hold of her hand and shook on it. Whatever she had written must have been pretty bad... or just "juicy" if she was requiring him to promise and shake on it but, he would stand by his word when and if he did find out anything.

"I guess I'll just go on to my next class. Classrooms are safe. I have Ancient Runes. Do you have that class with me?" Clara pulled a Doyle and removed her glasses. She cleaned them with her wand and stuck the deep blue frames back on her nose.

Clara smiled and took his arm, surprised that he actually still wanted to have her touch him... Well, that was a silly thought she supposed. "What are the chances of Professor Blair giving us the syllabus and letting us go early?" Clara laughed. She knew it was slim to none. "I'm going to check the Lost and Found after class. Like you said."

Clara considered that for a moment. "Doyle... I'm not sure I can imagine you having dreams. Have you ever had the one where you show up to class with no clothes on?" Clara laughed.

"Oh, no, now that is surely something I cannot imagine," Clara glanced at his sideways. "The glasses part. Well, not that I can imagine the other part or anything." Clara laughed again. "I dream about my older brothers a lot. Do you have siblings?"

Doyle's blush darkened at her words and he coughed as he removed his glasses to clean them. "I have an older brother. He followed in the footsteps of my parents, though so I hardly ever see him anymore."

We'll figure out how to get her the books first, and then we can read a bit." He smiled dangerously. He'd seen Belle's face... this was going to be fun.

"Thank you nurse!" Crystal said thankfully as she had just finished her weekly therapy session. She went to try and get cured from her vanity, but Crystal never attempted to rid of her arrogance and only went for an excuse out of classes and the likes.

She headed to the Great Hall to pick up some 'fast' food and on her travels noticed a suspicious looking Brennan and crew. "What are you puffskeins up to?" she asked curiously. It couldn't be anything good anyway, not with Brennan behind the wheel.

"In fact I dont want to know. But I do want to know something from you. Care to listen, answer and keep your mouth shut?" Crystal smiled innocently at them.

Brennan made the lock and key gesture with his fingers on his lips. Better to have Crystal talking than asking questions, and she could be amusing when she wasn't even trying. "I've heard a good rumor... shall we gossip instead?"

GOSSIP? Oh Crystal would love... "Not the now. After we are done with what I want to know." Crystal looked around them to make sure no one listening or even created a presence by being nearby. "Have you seen dimbat Leiden seem shifty lately? or seen her with some books and a bag?"

His eyes widened slightly. "She's always acting oddly... but I may have seen her with a satchel this morning. You know she always carries her own bag since that time fourth term that someone hexed her bag, but she had one this morning, I think." He rubbed his chin. He deserved an award for this acting.

"Oh hardly! I'm more of a punching bag, lab rat, chew toy that is always to blame." Clara lowered her voice. "Actually, I'm almost certain that I'm adopted. There's no way we're from the same bloodline. No way." Clara smiled. "I think one older brother would much nicer than five."

"Alright, Alright" sighed Fabian sealing his lips as he shiftily glanced between Clara and Doyle. When Crystal suddenly appeared from thin air, or maybe she walked, he never payed attention on how girls make their usual appearance, fabian flinched slightly. "Hey Crystal" he saluted and made his way towards the great hall before he comments on something with bag and crystal's hair in one sentence. She was good friends with clara, so no doubt everything will flow downstream to her at the end. And no trouble with clara, her quill is painful enough.

He fixed his shirt and made his way to the great hall intentially walking at a slow pace to thinly pass Clara and Doyle. Those two spend loads of time together recently, no doubt something is boiling. "OOO LLLL AAA Amigos!!" said fabian in a sing song tone "whats the hurry for? Aih" he asked cheesely implying their abnormal mingling behavior.
