This RP is the backstory for one of my school RP characters, Professor Doyle Branxton. I find it intriguing that he was a Slytherin, yet he was very much the goody two shoes. I'm guessing he was placed in Slytherin due to his ambition but, I really don't know all that much about him and would like to explore his history a bit more. I get to know my characters best through RPing with others so, I hope some of you will join me in the RP. Since this RP will take place slightly after the time of Harry Potter, I'm looking for mostly made-up characters, though some of the professors may or may not still be around (we can decide those details later as I don't anticipate the professors playing major roles).

The year is 2035 (39 years after Harry & Voldemort perish in their epic battle of good versus evil). It is Doyle Branxton's final year at Hogwarts and he is Head Boy. Interestingly enough, it is also the final year for a Hufflepuff girl (Nora Leiden) and a Gryffindor boy (Kobus Hendrik).

Note for those who follow the school RP: Zizhen would be a second year, Devine would be a first year, Hutchinson would be a 3rd year, and Yarns would be a fifth year.

I'm not sure how this RP will play out since it's a simple plot: Doyle's life and friends in his seventh year. I suspect he had several close friends and they didn't necessarily all have to be in Slytherin house. This probably caused some contention between himself and his housemates so, there's room for people to chose whether they want to be a friend or foe. Remember, he's a Slytherin, but he is rather prim and proper (or maybe that's just what we think

)

Please don't be intimidated. I'm hoping to include some regular members in this RP, not just my staff buddies, though I'm sure they're going to join up (or, I hope). So, jump in if you'd like to play along. If you'd like to join but, are having trouble coming up with a character, post anyway and we'll work something out.

Name: Doyle Branxton
Year: 7th
Birthdate: March 8, 2018 (so he's 17 at the start)

Looks: Doyle is six feet tall with black hair and blue eyes. He is a medium build and wears glasses. His appearance is always neat and tidy and it's a wonder he can even come out of herbology looking spic n' span.

Personality: Doyle is calm and quiet. He has a few close friends. Most people mistake his quiet, thoughtfulness for being shy. Despite this seeming shyness, he is well suited to prefecting though, he would prefer to listen in silence rather than participate in scuffles and arguments. He is very studious, excelling in all his classes, even though he doesn't particularly like charms (I'm not sure why not, yet). I see Doyle as being rather Percy-ish when it comes to his duties as head boy and being respected as such, though he's not quite as stuck up as Percy tends to come off.

History: There was some muggle blood a few generations back in Doyle's family, but there are few wizarding families without such interminglings at some point so, for all intents and purposes, he is a pureblood. Doyle was always interested in seeing how things worked, even as a young child. He displayed the typical signs of magical abilities in his youth and was, of course, given admission to Hogwarts.

It took him a while to make friends since he was sorted into Slytherin house and had seemingly nothing in common with his housemates. Despite efforts on the staff's part to promote inter-house relations, the other three houses were still wary of anyone in Slytherin house. Most of his friendships were formed with people from other houses, causing a further rift between Doyle and his housemates. Despite this rift, he was given the post of prefect in his fifth year, a duty he took to heart.

He is now a rather ambitious seventh year student and head boy to boot. He has aspirations of gaining employment with the Ministry of Magic and, as such, is studying hard for his NEWTs.

Crystal let off a small cackle, "Gawsh you must be incredibley hopeful if you think anyone in this school who gets their hands on your bag is not going to read the stuff you write about people... but there is always a chance it won't be made public... but again that could be done through blackmail. Well, I'll be here to help you out if you need it dear," She patted Clara's hand reassuringly. "Have you reported it to the Head lizard and hag?"

"Yes, unfortunately. Right after I realized it was gone, I panicked and told her when I ran into her. I don't think I have to worrry about her though. She's far too dense to realize the magnitude of this situation. The person I don't want finding out about is Doyle. He'll thinks it's an even bigger deal than I do." Yes, she had written down last night's conversation and then some.

Fabian was admiring his reflection on one of the shiny vials when his head began throbbing with pain. Sighing a low "OUCH" he rubbed his head and turned in his friends directions. He wiggled his eyebrows teasingly then began cleaning his station which ended up having more mess than it originaly had.
"I am ready to leave" he addressed tucking his wand in his robe's pocket while restraining a smirk from appearing on his face from Bren's suggestion.

"Focus, Clark," he peered into the Great Hall and ducked back into the corridor. "Here's what I think... unless someone can think of something better to do with her things, we'll start returning her textbooks later today. We'll read the journals over the next few days, starting after lunch. Okay?"

"Merlins knows i don't want anymore textbooks so count me in this plan" replied Fabian trying to ignore the pressure of reading more books over the next few days especially when reading wasn't his dear favorite, unless ofcourse it was related to something educational. "It would be fun if you have a suit of armor return her books" he added stroking the one next to him as he spotted it. "I would want to see her face" he added in laughter.

"You're a dork, Fabi. Find some brainless, hufflepuff bimbo. I don't need you breaking hearts of anymore of my friends. I'm still hearing about how you stood up Kelsey last term." She said rolling her eyes before getting back to the topic.

"Sounds good Bren. I'm looking forward to seeing just what all she has written down." She said giving a small smirk. She moved closer to the door. "Shall we?"

"Doyle worry? Why? Because you may hound him every second of his life until it is returned into your position? Or the commotion it may stir through the school if people find out stuff you have written about them?" Crystal was being nosey and she knew it too well.

"Sorry. I'm not helping. Maybe the person is just nosey and won't use anything against you, just depends on who it is is all," the ginger pigtailed girl pondered in the thought once more about who it was.

"WAIT! Maybe it was the hag! Its a bit obvious she got jealous with your closeness with Doyle... and if shes not treating it too big a deal which is the impression you're giving me..." Crystal grinned, "Its a start."

This is even better than I thought - Doyle's positively nervous! "I'd be nervous if I were you - a few words said in confidence that are etched onto parchment with that acid quill of hers and poof! Your precious reputation and future smell as sweet as dragon dung." Max grinned and sat back with his massive arms folded across his chest. He knew he was being a jerk, but he was reveling in it.

"Yes, well, I suppose it is good thing I've never done anything to ruin my reputation so anything I might have said in confidence would be worthless. However, that does not stop some of the more treacherous of us from twisting or rewording things we've said," Doyle said, placing his glasses back onto the bridge of his nose and looking over at Max.

"Must you always polish your glasses? It gets quite annoying," Max blurted out. "Besides, I'm not worried about my reputation - life is about taking risks and with risks there are consequences. The Dungeons aren't all that bad - you're a Slytherin, so you should know what I mean."

"I never said you were," Doyle retorted, ignoring Max's comment about his glasses and then looking over at Robert. Why had he let Vindictus tag along with them? He knew they didn't really get along all that well.

Robert had finally had it with Max who was running off at the mouth. "SHUT UP, MAX!" he bellowed angrily. "I'm sick and tired of hearing you try to pick a fight with Doyle." He stared at both Max and Doyle for a full minute before continuing. "It's as if both of you are trying to one-up the other whenever I'm around and this has been going on since our first year." He pounded his fist firmly on the table for added emphasis.

Miranda's eyes kept darting back and forth between Max and Doyle. She wanted to slam her head into the table they were sitting at. When Robert had his outburst she nearly fell out of the seat she was sitting in. "You boys are going to give me a heart attack! I swear control yourselves!"

Who's Kelsey? he wondered, the name wasn't familiar at all. But then again he never remembered girls names, so why would it matter?. He looked at his reflection on the suite of armor then puffed his chest "Technically it not my fault kail. I'd rather have a slytherin their wild, fun and worse than Alihotsy plants and thats why I tend to adore them. How about you set me up with your friend Gewn Fina? She's darn gorgeous and a proud slytherin".

Robert was yelling at Doyle? Clara elbowed Crystal to watch the group. Clara hated Ravenclaws. If they were really as smart as they thought they were...

Crystal moved her attention to her food when Clara made it more than clear that she wanted nothing more to do with the bag theft for the moment. "Ow!" Crystal whined as she was elbowed, "You are so bony! Eat!" She said piling food onto Clara's plate before looking up at what she had been indicating.

Crystal rolled her eyes as if she was sick of this same old usual routine. "Okaaaayyy, but I need them back for Divination sixth period," Crystal said handing over spare bits of parchment and a quill so Clara could take down notes. Afterall, that is what she wanted... right? Maybe wrong. Just eat Crystal. And she did.

Max glared back at Robert. "Stay out of this, Harrison because it has nothing to do with you. Take your perfect little 'princess' and leave if you don't want to hear Branxton and I have it out." He looked at Doyle. "Just words - no wands, fists or magic allowed . . . just words."

"I don't know what any of your are talking about. We aren't having anything out. We aren't even arguing. Now, if you'll excuse me," Doyle replied, getting up even though he hadn't touched his food yet. "I have rounds to do before my next class."

"Thanks," Clara replied, though that's not what she really had wanted. She wrote down four words on her parchment, small and elegantly.

"So much for trust."

Clara took her time, folding it up neatly before floating it down to Max. Once she was sure he couldn't miss it, she got up. "I'll see you in class, Crys." Clara left the Great Hall.

"Can't even face confrontation like a man," Max sneered and snatched the paper that floated towards him, crumpling it up like a ball. "No one that weak will ever become . . . ." He stopped short of saying the final three words because he knew Robert, Miranda and Doyle would hex him into oblivion if he said those words out loud and pitched the wadded ball of parchment at Branxton's back.

Clara hadn't made it far out of the Great Hall when she heard the doors open behind her. "Doyle?" Clara stopped. He looked almost as upset as she felt.
