This RP is the backstory for one of my school RP characters, Professor Doyle Branxton. I find it intriguing that he was a Slytherin, yet he was very much the goody two shoes. I'm guessing he was placed in Slytherin due to his ambition but, I really don't know all that much about him and would like to explore his history a bit more. I get to know my characters best through RPing with others so, I hope some of you will join me in the RP. Since this RP will take place slightly after the time of Harry Potter, I'm looking for mostly made-up characters, though some of the professors may or may not still be around (we can decide those details later as I don't anticipate the professors playing major roles).

The year is 2035 (39 years after Harry & Voldemort perish in their epic battle of good versus evil). It is Doyle Branxton's final year at Hogwarts and he is Head Boy. Interestingly enough, it is also the final year for a Hufflepuff girl (Nora Leiden) and a Gryffindor boy (Kobus Hendrik).

Note for those who follow the school RP: Zizhen would be a second year, Devine would be a first year, Hutchinson would be a 3rd year, and Yarns would be a fifth year.

I'm not sure how this RP will play out since it's a simple plot: Doyle's life and friends in his seventh year. I suspect he had several close friends and they didn't necessarily all have to be in Slytherin house. This probably caused some contention between himself and his housemates so, there's room for people to chose whether they want to be a friend or foe. Remember, he's a Slytherin, but he is rather prim and proper (or maybe that's just what we think

)

Please don't be intimidated. I'm hoping to include some regular members in this RP, not just my staff buddies, though I'm sure they're going to join up (or, I hope). So, jump in if you'd like to play along. If you'd like to join but, are having trouble coming up with a character, post anyway and we'll work something out.

Name: Doyle Branxton

Birthdate: March 8, 2018 (so he's 17 at the start)

Looks: Doyle is six feet tall with black hair and blue eyes. He is a medium build and wears glasses. His appearance is always neat and tidy and it's a wonder he can even come out of herbology looking spic n' span.

Personality: Doyle is calm and quiet. He has a few close friends. Most people mistake his quiet, thoughtfulness for being shy. Despite this seeming shyness, he is well suited to prefecting though, he would prefer to listen in silence rather than participate in scuffles and arguments. He is very studious, excelling in all his classes, even though he doesn't particularly like charms (I'm not sure why not, yet). I see Doyle as being rather Percy-ish when it comes to his duties as head boy and being respected as such, though he's not quite as stuck up as Percy tends to come off.

History: There was some muggle blood a few generations back in Doyle's family, but there are few wizarding families without such interminglings at some point so, for all intents and purposes, he is a pureblood. Doyle was always interested in seeing how things worked, even as a young child. He displayed the typical signs of magical abilities in his youth and was, of course, given admission to Hogwarts.

It took him a while to make friends since he was sorted into Slytherin house and had seemingly nothing in common with his housemates. Despite efforts on the staff's part to promote inter-house relations, the other three houses were still wary of anyone in Slytherin house. Most of his friendships were formed with people from other houses, causing a further rift between Doyle and his housemates. Despite this rift, he was given the post of prefect in his fifth year, a duty he took to heart.

He is now a rather ambitious seventh year student and head boy to boot. He has aspirations of gaining employment with the Ministry of Magic and, as such, is studying hard for his NEWTs.

Flavia gave him a tight smile that was really more of a contortion of her face muscles. Oh well. She made the effort. At the Slytherin's headgirl crack though, she almost gave in to her desire to rip the badge right off his chest. "I - I had a fine summer," she said. "I gather that yours must have been absolutely riproaring in your celebrations, hm?"

She raised an eyebrow and nodded at the badge which seemed to cause her some pain.

"Uh... not quite as festive as all that, though my parents did take me out to a special dinner and allowed me to spend a week with my brother in China," Doyle replied, uncomfortable around her obvious disappointment. He had enjoyed his trip to see his older brother and the dinner had been great but, he doubted she really wanted the details when she was just barely managing to be polite. Doyle loked up at his friend Robert, looking for assistance in this situation.

"China, huh?" said Flavia, eyeing the badge as it winked and glinted at her in the rushing light as the train moved. Reluctantly, she dragged her spellbound gaze up to Branxton's face when it became decidedly less enchanted. "Sounds fun," she said, trying to gauge why it was exactly that Branxton had gotten the badge and she hadn't. "So who's the headgirl? Or did they decide to go for singles again?"

"I don't know who they chose for head girl this year. I wasn't sure they'd even have a head boy as it seems they're cutting back on that. I'm not sure why as the students are getting any more well behaved," he replied, temporarily lost in thought about that. Why had they been choosing just one lately? Why get rid of the head girl and boy and resort to just prefects?

"I thought you would hold a compartment for us," Brennan's tone was irritable as he ran into Asher being pulled along by Crystal. He wasn't a fan of Crystal, although obviously he was charming enough to her when she was around. "Don't you have some first years to tease, Zitsburg?" He slipped into the first compartment he saw, sending the third years inside off on their way.

Ash quickly ducked inside the compartment with a passing regret for the displaced 3rd years. "It would be too easy if we saved you a spot, Coop," he laughed, "why start the term any different? Though it isn't very nice teasing the first years, Crystal. I'm surprised at you," he admonished.

"Zitzburg has always been a tease," Brennan took up most of one bench as he spread out, smiling almost viciously at Crystal. "She's a mean little thing. Never helps me in Muggle Studies, either, which is a shame because I'm rubbish in that class." Which was something of a lie, considering his Mum was a Muggle.

Crystal was beginning to get defensive as Brennan kept winding her up, "you always were a sleezy wee... never mind."

Flavia crossed her arms, she almost started tapping her foot. Unlike Branxton, she stuck to one point. It wasn't that Flavia wasn't clever, simply that her intellect resembled that of a train, strong, but following the rail. And had a tendency to squash anyone in her way. "The students are never well-behaved," she stated. "They simply hide it better than usual." Her voice got a little more severe, as if she was trying to hem in her emotion further when she added, "And the school only chooses two head prefects if they can find two suitable candidates. I suppose you're the best one, and, again, congratulations."

Always correct and proper, was Flavia. She gave Branxton another nod and started down the swaying corridor. Flavia's stomach filled with cold water - but as long as it didn't reach her eyes, that was fine.

Doyle scratched his head as Antiganus left. After watching her walk off he looked back up at Robert and sighed. "I suspect there will be more than just a few hurt feelings over my appointment. Cooper isn't very pleased, either."

"We're just teasing Crys!" Asher replied, falling into his usual role of peace keeper. He didn't like to see his friends argue and he could tell that Cooper was in a mood about something. It wasn't wise to push his buttons when his friend took that tone and the 'jest' about muggle studies only proved that the boy had something on his mind. Ash never knew Coop to deliberately bring up that subject.

Lorcán walked down the hallway of the train, looking for this small gang to hang with. He opened up each compartment door, looking inside and taking time to harass some of the younger students, mostly first years, just to show them their place.

Finally, he reached the compartment of Doyle and Company. He opened the door and paused for a minute glaring, before saying, "Well, well. It's the Head Boy. Amazing how you made it so far up, considering you're a traitor to your house."

Brennan stared at Asher for a long moment. He wanted Crystal gone so he could speak freely about his understandable frustration about the whole Head Boy situation. Finally, he broke his stare at his best mate and looked back at the bouncy girl in his car. He smiled easily at her. "Who's the boyfriend of the moment, Zitzburg? Should I be jealous?"

Doyle frowned. "A traiter to my house? I don't really see how. Or why that should prevent me from becoming Head Boy, for that matter," he replied, casting an enquiring look at Robert.

Flavia stopped. If she had been a cat, the hair on her back might have risen. And now she was in a moral quandary. Reprimand the Slytherin boy for insulting a fellow classmate, and spreading house hatred and prejudice, or just walked on.

Surely Branxton could take care of himself?

A voice that Flavia fancied to be her mother's, but was actually nothing but her own evanligecal conscience reprimanded, Duty, always duty.

"You," she snapped, whirling around to glare at Lorcan, "can't talk like that to anyone, at school or not. If our Headboy doesn't report you, I will."

He paused a minute, before continuing. "Who are you anyways, Head Girl?"

Crystal smirked. "Ash is my boyfriend," she lied and giggled. "I can see you're still single, surprises me a little. You may act like a fool but there is always girls who squeel over the bad guys," she said winking. "I think i'm going to go find Clara, or maybe I should congratulate Branxy, its the latest gossip on the station," Crystal removed herself from her seat and headed for the compartment door, "see you later boys!"

Brennan turned and gave Asher a level look as soon as they were alone. "You are never allowed to date Zitzburg. I don't think I could respect you at all," he laughed and tilted his head back against the seat. "Branxton got Head Boy."

She plays chaser on the slytherin quidditch team so she has a slender/athletic build to her. She's a house prefect who doesn't always follow the rules...actually enjoys being 'above' the rules. However, she does enjoy enforcing them. It gives her a power rush.

Her father is high in the ministry, always pulling strings and getting his way. Her mother is a society mum, throwing the parties, talking to the right people and going to all the special engagements.

Kailee is a half blood but she doesn't know that. Her mother was really a 'gift' from the dark lord and is a muggle. Her father is always having affairs though they keep the perfect, happy family act on the surface for their important friends.

He enjoys running and swimming and is muscular but not overly so. He's a pureblood. His mother is Greek and his Dad Italian. His father is a healer at St. Mungo's and his mother stays at home and takes care of his twin 5 year old brothers.

He's in Ravenclaw and enjoys reading and is really smart. He doesn't like getting into trouble but with his friends its unavoidable. He's like the male Hermione I guess lol.

Kailee had not enjoyed waking up early that morning. She had been out late the night before at one of her mothers special dinners. It was some rich person's birthday or something like that. Kailee hadn't really paid that much attention. She would be glad when she could get on the train and around people she actually liked.

She gave the obligatory hug and kiss goodbye to her family, smiling and waving as she stepped onto the platform. She passed her luggage off to some second year gryffindor telling her where she should take it and headed off to find a compartment with her friends.

She saw the compartment with Asher and Coop and walked in closing the door behind her. She smiled at Asher, "What's he complaining about now?" she asked with a smirk at Coops direction before settling into a seat across from them.

Vincent was giving one of his brothers a piggy back ride and holding the other's hand as they arrived at the station. He had spent all Summer with them and they were going to miss them. He set Kevin down and ruffled Ryans hair and smiled at them. "You guys be good now." They nodded and he hugged his parents before stepping onto the train.

He put his luggage away in the compartment before walking back and finding the one with Robert and Branxton. Noticing the badge he gave the slytherin a smile. "Congratulations Branxton." He turned to Robert and asked, "Just how much trouble did you manage to get yourself in this Summer Rob?"

"No," said Flavia through clenched teeth. Lorcan had just sealed his doom there. "I'm the Gryffindor Prefect, and it may come to your surprise that we do indeed have a few priveledges, one of which is taking away points, and hauling your sorry self to the your head of house. And I'm not a nice, tender, caring Gryffindor either, so I guess that disqualifies me."

"I get no respect from you nitwits," Brennan smiled almost fondly at his little self-proclaimed Slytherin princess and leaned back against the seat again. "We were discussing our feelings regarding Branxton getting the Head Boy spot. I'm sure you don't mind, but you're very Slytherin in your loyalties." Meaning she had none at all.

Kailee chuckled and reached over and patted Bren on the head. "Aw poor baby." She rolled her eyes. "Did you really expect him not to? The boy's been all about grades and school since he could talk pretty much. And the way he's always hanging around those Ravenclaw boys, you'd think he didn't have any pride." She scoffed and ran a hand through her hair.

"Grades aren't everything. He's supposed to be our fearless leader, but I wouldn't follow him down the hall to dinner. He has no personality and so many twitchy weird traits that I'm fairly certain he makes even the house elves nervous. He isn't likable, Kay. Tell her, Ash."

"You wouldn't be jealous of him by any chance would you?" she asked him with a smirk and grin. "Because for once in your life you couldn't get something you wanted. You're not the fearless leader people are supposed to follow after, he is." She raised an eyebrow at him. "Yeah you're jealous. The whole male territorial thing I guess." She told him with a shrug.
