This RP is the backstory for one of my school RP characters, Professor Doyle Branxton. I find it intriguing that he was a Slytherin, yet he was very much the goody two shoes. I'm guessing he was placed in Slytherin due to his ambition but, I really don't know all that much about him and would like to explore his history a bit more. I get to know my characters best through RPing with others so, I hope some of you will join me in the RP. Since this RP will take place slightly after the time of Harry Potter, I'm looking for mostly made-up characters, though some of the professors may or may not still be around (we can decide those details later as I don't anticipate the professors playing major roles).

The year is 2035 (39 years after Harry & Voldemort perish in their epic battle of good versus evil). It is Doyle Branxton's final year at Hogwarts and he is Head Boy. Interestingly enough, it is also the final year for a Hufflepuff girl (Nora Leiden) and a Gryffindor boy (Kobus Hendrik).

Note for those who follow the school RP: Zizhen would be a second year, Devine would be a first year, Hutchinson would be a 3rd year, and Yarns would be a fifth year.

I'm not sure how this RP will play out since it's a simple plot: Doyle's life and friends in his seventh year. I suspect he had several close friends and they didn't necessarily all have to be in Slytherin house. This probably caused some contention between himself and his housemates so, there's room for people to chose whether they want to be a friend or foe. Remember, he's a Slytherin, but he is rather prim and proper (or maybe that's just what we think

)

Please don't be intimidated. I'm hoping to include some regular members in this RP, not just my staff buddies, though I'm sure they're going to join up (or, I hope). So, jump in if you'd like to play along. If you'd like to join but, are having trouble coming up with a character, post anyway and we'll work something out.

Name: Doyle Branxton
Year: 7th
Birthdate: March 8, 2018 (so he's 17 at the start)

Looks: Doyle is six feet tall with black hair and blue eyes. He is a medium build and wears glasses. His appearance is always neat and tidy and it's a wonder he can even come out of herbology looking spic n' span.

Personality: Doyle is calm and quiet. He has a few close friends. Most people mistake his quiet, thoughtfulness for being shy. Despite this seeming shyness, he is well suited to prefecting though, he would prefer to listen in silence rather than participate in scuffles and arguments. He is very studious, excelling in all his classes, even though he doesn't particularly like charms (I'm not sure why not, yet). I see Doyle as being rather Percy-ish when it comes to his duties as head boy and being respected as such, though he's not quite as stuck up as Percy tends to come off.

History: There was some muggle blood a few generations back in Doyle's family, but there are few wizarding families without such interminglings at some point so, for all intents and purposes, he is a pureblood. Doyle was always interested in seeing how things worked, even as a young child. He displayed the typical signs of magical abilities in his youth and was, of course, given admission to Hogwarts.

It took him a while to make friends since he was sorted into Slytherin house and had seemingly nothing in common with his housemates. Despite efforts on the staff's part to promote inter-house relations, the other three houses were still wary of anyone in Slytherin house. Most of his friendships were formed with people from other houses, causing a further rift between Doyle and his housemates. Despite this rift, he was given the post of prefect in his fifth year, a duty he took to heart.

He is now a rather ambitious seventh year student and head boy to boot. He has aspirations of gaining employment with the Ministry of Magic and, as such, is studying hard for his NEWTs.

Crystal woke up and gave a loud yawn, not really caring if the other girls were still sleeping beside her. She sat up and rubbed her eyes before placing her glasses on the bridge of her nose.

"Lalalala," she began singing, still not caring if people were still sleeping. She brushed her hair and got dressed. "Satisfactory," she said to herself whilst looking in the mirror.

She walked over to the dorm door and headed to the common room. It was empty and dull. She lit some candles and torches to bring some more light into the room
and the plonked her bum on one of the comfy sofas. "Lalalalala."

"That sounds like a good plan. I don't really have a set routine down. I started running over the summer and got into the habit. It's quite nice being able to watch the sunrise." She gave him a smile and started to run. "How long have you been doing this?" She asked him curiously. He seemed tohave a set routine.

"This will be my fifth year," he explained, feeling a little more at ease with the crisp morning air gently blowing across his face as they ran down toward the lake. "It's a good way to start the day."

"Wow five years? Thats a long time." She nodded her head in agreement. "It really is. I wasn't sure how I'd like it at first but I've definitely come to enjoy the early mornings." Kailee turned and faced him while running. "Does anyone know?" She asked him curiously.

"I won't tell anyone. Promise." She gave him a reassuring smile. "Though I wouldn't be surprised if Clara already knows. Why keep it a secret?" She asked him curiously.

"I just... I rather no one know. They hassle me enough as it is," he said, realizing she was in said group of people. "This is something I do for me and I don't want it ruined."

Kailee reached and patted his shoulder. "We don't hate you or anything." She told him feeling the need to clarify. "I think mostly its jealousy. You're smart and that intimidates them." She shrugged. "It's good to have a few things that you keep to yourself." She gave him an understanding smile.

Because she couldn't sleep, Joana woke up early to take a swim. She heard voices as she came up to the surface. She smiled as she saw who it was.

"Hey Kailee. Hey Doyle." She said as she waved at them, stepping out of the water in her blur two peice bikini. "How'd you guys sleep?" Joana asked as she toweled herself off and walked over.

Brennan yawned as he headed down the stairs. "Must you be so chipper all the time, Crys? Some of us aren't morning people?" He fell onto the couch next to her and stretched an arm along the couch back behind her.

Crystal stopped her singing once Cooper came down the stairs to greet her ever so pleasantly. "So I have to change to suit your needs? I don't think so," Crystal winked at him. "Sleep well?" she asked him fouly.

Doyle mentally groaned. Not another early bird. He'd have to start getting up even earlier from now on. "I slept well but, I really need to finish my run before everyone gets up," he explained as he continued to run past the two girls.

"I'm not unpleasant Coopey. I just have my ... ugly? moments," Crystal smiled at him. "I think I might go to the Great Hall and get the good stuff before the first years get their grubby hands all over it. Care to join?" She asked as she got out of her seat and headed for the common room entrance.

Before she headed out she turned to face Cooper, "Oh and Brennan baby, next time you hold me like you did last night I WILL kill you." Crystal turned on her heel and was out of the common room in a matter of seconds wondering if he was actually going to join her.

Kailee looked at Doyle as he started to run past them. "Yes, I should probably finish up running here too. We'll talk at breakfast." She gave her a wave and a smile before running after Doyle. "You know, maybe its not such a bad thing someone else knows." She told him with a shrug. "Besides, it's a beautiful morning. It seems unfair to be worried about something."

"I just need to get back to the castle so I can shower, eat breakfast, and still have time for my duties before my first class."

Kailee sighed. "I didn't mean that you were worried about not having enough time. You just seem so concerned with keeping the fact that you like to run a secret. There's nothing wrong with letting someone learn a little bit about you. Not every slytherin is out to get you as you seem to think." She ran on ahead and headed back into the castle.

Clara was up early, moving about with a cup of coffee (the house elves were well accustomed to her rituals by now) and her notebook from the previous day open. She liked to re-read all her notes and make sure she remembered details.

She needed to talk with Miranda and Robert - find out about the fit from the day before and ask Robert how close he was to Doyle.

She needed to tease Cooper about his color and find out what he used to call his sister. And then get Ash to speak.

She needed to find out more about this new girl that was clingy with Doyle already.

She needed to find Crys a respectable date and follow Kail around to see if she was actually doing her Prefect duties.

And lastly, tease Max and Fabi because they both so obviously wanted her.

Full day ahead, she thought, sipping her coffee and wriiting her to do list down.

Cooper shrugged and followed her. No better company around yet. "If I remember correctly, my dear Crystal, there was a time you looked forward to being held like that. How was I to know that you had changed your mind?"

Doyle watched as Sommers ran ahead of him and back into the castle. He slowed to a walk for the last few meters, then wet thrugh his stretching routine again before heading back in for a shower. He'd managed to ask a house elf to carry his things into the prefect's bath for him so he wouldn't have to go back to the common room. They were there, just as he'd asked when he stepped inside. He turned on the taps before slipping out of his sweaty jogging-wear and then thankfully slipped beneath the surface of the water. The warm bath eased his tired muscles and the scents from the taps soothed his mind. Doyle closed his eyes after moving to the edge of the bath, resting his head and arms on the edge.

Kailee was walking back to the common room to get a shower and to change when she saw Bren and Crys. "Good morning you guys." She said with a wave. "Where are you two off to?" Kail asked curiously.

Ready to face the first day of classes, Clara made her first appearance into the Common Room. Kai, looking sweaty, Bren hitting on Crys, Crys repulsed. Excellent. "I'm going down to breakfast if anyone would like to accompany me," Clara announced, quite formerly. She grinned in her all knowing way and gave the group a wink, before rearranging her bookbag and heading out.
