This RP is the backstory for one of my school RP characters, Professor Doyle Branxton. I find it intriguing that he was a Slytherin, yet he was very much the goody two shoes. I'm guessing he was placed in Slytherin due to his ambition but, I really don't know all that much about him and would like to explore his history a bit more. I get to know my characters best through RPing with others so, I hope some of you will join me in the RP. Since this RP will take place slightly after the time of Harry Potter, I'm looking for mostly made-up characters, though some of the professors may or may not still be around (we can decide those details later as I don't anticipate the professors playing major roles).

The year is 2035 (39 years after Harry & Voldemort perish in their epic battle of good versus evil). It is Doyle Branxton's final year at Hogwarts and he is Head Boy. Interestingly enough, it is also the final year for a Hufflepuff girl (Nora Leiden) and a Gryffindor boy (Kobus Hendrik).

Note for those who follow the school RP: Zizhen would be a second year, Devine would be a first year, Hutchinson would be a 3rd year, and Yarns would be a fifth year.

I'm not sure how this RP will play out since it's a simple plot: Doyle's life and friends in his seventh year. I suspect he had several close friends and they didn't necessarily all have to be in Slytherin house. This probably caused some contention between himself and his housemates so, there's room for people to chose whether they want to be a friend or foe. Remember, he's a Slytherin, but he is rather prim and proper (or maybe that's just what we think

)

Please don't be intimidated. I'm hoping to include some regular members in this RP, not just my staff buddies, though I'm sure they're going to join up (or, I hope). So, jump in if you'd like to play along. If you'd like to join but, are having trouble coming up with a character, post anyway and we'll work something out.

Name: Doyle Branxton
Year: 7th
Birthdate: March 8, 2018 (so he's 17 at the start)

Looks: Doyle is six feet tall with black hair and blue eyes. He is a medium build and wears glasses. His appearance is always neat and tidy and it's a wonder he can even come out of herbology looking spic n' span.

Personality: Doyle is calm and quiet. He has a few close friends. Most people mistake his quiet, thoughtfulness for being shy. Despite this seeming shyness, he is well suited to prefecting though, he would prefer to listen in silence rather than participate in scuffles and arguments. He is very studious, excelling in all his classes, even though he doesn't particularly like charms (I'm not sure why not, yet). I see Doyle as being rather Percy-ish when it comes to his duties as head boy and being respected as such, though he's not quite as stuck up as Percy tends to come off.

History: There was some muggle blood a few generations back in Doyle's family, but there are few wizarding families without such interminglings at some point so, for all intents and purposes, he is a pureblood. Doyle was always interested in seeing how things worked, even as a young child. He displayed the typical signs of magical abilities in his youth and was, of course, given admission to Hogwarts.

It took him a while to make friends since he was sorted into Slytherin house and had seemingly nothing in common with his housemates. Despite efforts on the staff's part to promote inter-house relations, the other three houses were still wary of anyone in Slytherin house. Most of his friendships were formed with people from other houses, causing a further rift between Doyle and his housemates. Despite this rift, he was given the post of prefect in his fifth year, a duty he took to heart.

He is now a rather ambitious seventh year student and head boy to boot. He has aspirations of gaining employment with the Ministry of Magic and, as such, is studying hard for his NEWTs.

Crystal smiled as Clara complimented her, "Yet here I stand. Dateless. Whereas you already have two." The train stopped and Crystal began to bounce on her seat, "Seventh year! I can smell it! and it doesn't smell like a Dragon who has eaten a rotten Horklump and pooped it out the morning after, either!" Crystal encouraged them all to move out of the compartment and rattled the window of the compartment where Kai and Coop sat to try and shift them also. She was really excited.

"Hello, Doyle right." She said as she turned to him while Lorcan was talking to his friend. "How's the 'Head Boy' thing going so far?" She asked as she smiled.

Lorcan stepped off the train and waited for Robert, Joana and the others. He was worried about Joana warming up to Doyle.

"You coming Joana?" he asked after a few second.

"Aside from being rivals on the pitch, it's my sole task to keep the Vindictus twins from pranking the members of the other Quidditch teams because stopping them from flirting with the ladies is impossible." He grinned at Lorcan and rolled his eyes. "I'll see the two of you around," he said and waved as he walked away.

Ash listened to the quidditch talk with the usual polite disinterest that was typical of him at start of term. As the year went on, he'd likely become a bit less polite in his disinterest, he shrugged to himself, it was early.

Coop was perhaps a bit heavy handed with his approach to Kailee, but Ash was quite confident that his friend could smooth it over with the girl. He'd have to ask him about it later.

"That's a very interesting comparison there, Crystal," he laughed, "as though you know what rotten horklump dragon poop smells like." He playfully tousled one of her curls, "I could always be your date," he reassured her and followed her out to knock on the door to Kail and Coop's compartment. He was intensely curious to know what had transpired.

Crystal giggled at Ash, "I so would but it would be so weird. How about you just promise to take me to Hogsmeade so i'm not completely alone since Clara darling appears to be otherwise occupied," she smiled and got out of the train, waving at Branxton up the front of the train.

A herd of first years began scrambling in the opposite direction of herself and she began losing balance. "Watch it twiprs," she said smacking one on the back of the head.

Fabian couldn't resist his chuckle towards crystal, but soon he was left alone in the compartment with clara. He became torn, he wanted to follow asher and stay behind to catch up a chat with clara. Torn in his own dilemma, he descided to stay behind so she wouldn't be too suspicious. "Do you want help with you luggage clara?" fabian asked as he stood up straightening his robes along with his hair as the train haulted.

Kai rolled her eyes at Bren and got off his lap as she heard the knock on the compartment door. She stood up and opened it. "Hey Ashers!" She said giving him a smile. "Are we there yet?" She asked noticing the train had stopped and there were footsteps of kids getting off. "Never mind..answers that question."

"You've got a date, Crystal dear," Ash winked, "unless you find someone better," he teased before she took off again, as always in motion.

"Hey Miss Kail!" Ash smiled at the girl and tried to shoot an enquiring look to Coop. "So this is where you two were hiding. I'd say we are here," he laughed. "Shall we?" he held out his arm to escort her.

"Better then you Ashers? I don't think she'll find one." She said with a laugh and a smirk. "So you and Crystal? Hmmm interesting." She raised an eyebrow and took his arm. "Now, she won't be jealous will she?" Kai said teasing him and ruffling his hair with her free arm.

"You are too kind to me." Ash grinned at Kailee, "You know Crystal. By tomorrow she will have forgotten or got a better offer. "Besides," he teased, "you will already be taken. We're going to have to set out to break up that date Clara made with Doyle," Ash raised his eyebrows at Coop.

"Not much different from Prefect duty, though the expectations are higher and I had to take care of a small prefect issue," he smiled. His smile faded as he saw Walt who seemed impatient. "I think you'd better get going before Walt gets too impatient. I'll see you up at the school," he said, watching as the students alighted without too much trouble so far.

"Why don't you two get along?" Joana asked as she looked at Lorcan before turning her head to face him again.

"I thought you two were in the same house?" She looked confused, as she tilted her head to the side.

"I'm not really sure," Doyle thoughtfully replied. "To be honest, I don't think very many people from my house like me very much. I suspect it's my strict adherence to rules that bothers them and my studious nature. I believe some think it would have been better if I had been sorted into Ravenclaw," he added with a slight smile toward her.

Joanna blushed as she smiled back, "I bet you would have been a better addition than I am." She said as she looked down at her feet.

"I probly would never measure up to you. I mean...don't laugh but I think, even from just meeting you, that you're an amazing person thats gonna do great things someday." Joana said as she smiled.

"And about your housemates...I think they're crazy. Those are great traits in a person, Slythrin or not." Joana said as she looked up at him again.

Clara raised an eyebrow at Fabain. "What a perfect gentleman. If I didn't know better, I'd say you were trying to properly woo me, Fabian." She smiled and rolled her eyes, dropping the subject. "I suppose I could use some help, sure." She hadn't actually made it into her robes yet, and quickly slid them over her head. Clara's head and curls popped out the neck of her robes, curls still perfect ringlets. The house elves always carried the heavy luggage, but Clara had no objections to him carrying her supply bag (extra notebooks, books, quills, ink, magazines, the Daily Prophets from the last week, ect.). Clinging to her notebook, she opened the door for him. "After you."

Fabian eyed clara suspiciously for a moment before innocently smiling, glad she changed the subject before he commented, which would have probably placed him in a weider situation. When carla dressed into her robes, fabian propped his backpack on his shoulder and watched her play with her curls. Once he realised he was gazing at her stupidly, he shook his head then carried her supply bag and peaked into the corridor through the compartment window waiting for her to wrap up.
Fabian chuckled slightly at clara's invitation to walk out first, if it was in any different situation he would have disagreed. "Thanks" he replied as he walked out first, taking a left opposite direction of his friends' compartment and stepped down to the platform through the first exit. Fabian shiftily looked up and down the platform searching for branxton, when spotted, fabian faced the exit waiting for clara to step down "need a hand precious" he said loud enough for branxton to hear.

Amusing all the same and she wrote it down to observe him later and find out. Her glasses changed to a deep violet as the school could just been seen in the far distance. "Do you want to share a carriage?" Clara asked as watched with two very open eyes all the students begin getting off of the train.

"Now why would we want to ruin dear Belle's chances with Branxton? She could use a healthy distraction, and Merlin only knows Branxton won't do better," Brennan scratched his ear and ruffled his hair, moving around the group to hop out of the train. Asher shouldn't have mentioned Branxton in front of Zitzburg, but he tended to trust people that Brennan wouldn't even associate with. "Let's get a carriage with dear old Doyle."

Fabian chuckled and gave clara both of his hands for assistance. But after she stepped down she scribbled something on her parchement, fabian forrowed his eyebrows full of curiosity and made a mental memo to ask her later about it, not a good time to distract her. "Sure, I'll be more than happy to clara" he answered as he linked his arms with hers and walked towards the nearest carriage. He opened the door and said "Ladies first" then made a small gentlemen's bow for her to enter.

His attention turned to a few doors down where Belle was getting off the train when he heard raised voices. He frowned slightly as he saw Belle with Clark, seemingly getting close. Not that he cared. He was only going on that 'date' to Hogsmeade as a sign peace. Shaking his head slightly, he turned his attention back to Joanne. "I think that's the last of them. I've got to check the train to be sure, though so you go on ahead to the carriages and I'll see you around," he smiled before grabbing the bar beside the door to help hoist himself back onto the train for a final inspection of the compartments, something instituted many years ago after the famous Harry Potter found himself left on board.
