This RP is the backstory for one of my school RP characters, Professor Doyle Branxton. I find it intriguing that he was a Slytherin, yet he was very much the goody two shoes. I'm guessing he was placed in Slytherin due to his ambition but, I really don't know all that much about him and would like to explore his history a bit more. I get to know my characters best through RPing with others so, I hope some of you will join me in the RP. Since this RP will take place slightly after the time of Harry Potter, I'm looking for mostly made-up characters, though some of the professors may or may not still be around (we can decide those details later as I don't anticipate the professors playing major roles).

The year is 2035 (39 years after Harry & Voldemort perish in their epic battle of good versus evil). It is Doyle Branxton's final year at Hogwarts and he is Head Boy. Interestingly enough, it is also the final year for a Hufflepuff girl (Nora Leiden) and a Gryffindor boy (Kobus Hendrik).

Note for those who follow the school RP: Zizhen would be a second year, Devine would be a first year, Hutchinson would be a 3rd year, and Yarns would be a fifth year.

I'm not sure how this RP will play out since it's a simple plot: Doyle's life and friends in his seventh year. I suspect he had several close friends and they didn't necessarily all have to be in Slytherin house. This probably caused some contention between himself and his housemates so, there's room for people to chose whether they want to be a friend or foe. Remember, he's a Slytherin, but he is rather prim and proper (or maybe that's just what we think

Please don't be intimidated. I'm hoping to include some regular members in this RP, not just my staff buddies, though I'm sure they're going to join up (or, I hope). So, jump in if you'd like to play along. If you'd like to join but, are having trouble coming up with a character, post anyway and we'll work something out.

Name: Doyle Branxton
Year: 7th
Birthdate: March 8, 2018 (so he's 17 at the start)

Looks: Doyle is six feet tall with black hair and blue eyes. He is a medium build and wears glasses. His appearance is always neat and tidy and it's a wonder he can even come out of herbology looking spic n' span.

Personality: Doyle is calm and quiet. He has a few close friends. Most people mistake his quiet, thoughtfulness for being shy. Despite this seeming shyness, he is well suited to prefecting though, he would prefer to listen in silence rather than participate in scuffles and arguments. He is very studious, excelling in all his classes, even though he doesn't particularly like charms (I'm not sure why not, yet). I see Doyle as being rather Percy-ish when it comes to his duties as head boy and being respected as such, though he's not quite as stuck up as Percy tends to come off.

History: There was some muggle blood a few generations back in Doyle's family, but there are few wizarding families without such interminglings at some point so, for all intents and purposes, he is a pureblood. Doyle was always interested in seeing how things worked, even as a young child. He displayed the typical signs of magical abilities in his youth and was, of course, given admission to Hogwarts.

It took him a while to make friends since he was sorted into Slytherin house and had seemingly nothing in common with his housemates. Despite efforts on the staff's part to promote inter-house relations, the other three houses were still wary of anyone in Slytherin house. Most of his friendships were formed with people from other houses, causing a further rift between Doyle and his housemates. Despite this rift, he was given the post of prefect in his fifth year, a duty he took to heart.

He is now a rather ambitious seventh year student and head boy to boot. He has aspirations of gaining employment with the Ministry of Magic and, as such, is studying hard for his NEWTs.

"You're really much, much too kind to me. According the Head Girl I have ugly hair and I'm easy. Lacking subtely seems minor compared to those." Clara sighed and plopped down. "Someone should push her from the moving train, says me. What a nightmare. Brilliant for writing about, don't get me wrong. I could write an entire book on her alone. She's really going to give us all heck this year. It's not too late for you to woo her, Ash. It's really, really not." Clara sank lower. She wasn't vain, but really, was it her hair...?

Crystal smiled at Coop as he generously insulted her, "Just to you love," she said ruffling his hair. This stopped when Clara began telling them about Nora's 'kind' words. "What a horrible little hag, let me go show her what bad hair looks like," Crystal said removing her wand with a fire starting charm in mind. "Your hair is cute, how dare she say that! Coop, go kill her. You're the almighty tough man. Go. Do it!"

Ash only had time to nod in agreement with Coop's plan, they couldn't be flirting with Kail if the plan were to work, when Crys and then Belle joined them. "It's kind of you to think of me, Clara," he quipped, "but I think I'll wait for the book, much safer."

"Nothing about you is easy," Brennan laughed and reached out once again to twirl one of her ringlets around his finger. He rather fancied her hair, to be honest, but the girl... she was another matter. "I'm not going to beat up Leiden. She's a nut job, and I don't hit girls. I don't hit at all... that's what Clark is for."

Matthew dusted down his new robes and ruffled his hair. It was stubbornly messy, so he had resigned himself to it. He set in search of Crystal again, wishing to resume their conversation. He liked her; she had a vibrant personality.

He saw her ahead, and made his way towards her. 'Hey there!', he smiled. Suddenly painfully aware of the group of people she was associating with, that familiar burning blushed upon his cheeks. 'Oh... um... hey guys.'

"Fabby wouldn't touch a fly," Crystal said giggling. Matthew came into view though, she hadn't quite expected this, "Matthew! Take a seat! Everyone this is Matthew, Matthew this is everyone," she said smiling and taking a seat beside him. "Matthew is great, be nice," Crystal said emphasising the last part to Coop.

He took the nearest seat he could get, shuffling over as Crystal took a seat at his side. He nodded at the group as he was introduced, smiling to himself at that last part.

He laughed as he listened in to the conversation; he knew who was being discussed. 'Hey Asher, nice to meet you too,' he said, grinning, his blush fading.

"I'm always nice," Brennan said, moving to sit next to the window and as far from the newcomer as possible. He didn't bother to introduce himself, as the boy had to know who he was. "Welcome to our carriage, Matthew. What's your last name? You're Slytherin?"

'Thanks, Brennan is it?' His stomach churned, hoping he was correct. He'd rather not make a fool of himself so early on. 'Last name's Pace. Yeah, I'm Slytherin. Not too sure how to be honest, but yeah. You are too aren't you?'

"No, Zitzburg is a Hufflepuff," Brennan waved in their general direction. "But yes, I'm Brennan Cooper, Slytherin extraordinaire. That's..." He pointed as he spoke. "Fabian Clark and Kailee Sommers, both Slytherin... they're with me. You've met the terribly excitable Crystal Zitzburg, and her mate Clara Belle, also Slytherin. Crystal is not one of mine, and Belle wants to be. But she isn't."

'Yeah, I think I recognise some of you from the common room', he commented., following Brennan's hand, trying to memorise names' to faces'. 'She wants to be one of yours...?' Matthew didn't think he should be probing into that, but asked anyway.

Crystal gawped in sheer horror, "How dare you claim me as a Hufflepuff!" Crystal was certainly not amused by this comment. "Ignore him Matthew. I am a Slytherin also, hence why I was shocked to have never seen your face before."

Lorcan smiled to himself. He'd tricked another one in with his charm. "Well, Joana," he said, placing his hand on her shoulder and leading her firmly down the hall. "Let's go see if we can find some of them. I sense you'll think of them as just like me."

Joana blushed slightly as she let him lead her down the hall of the train, passsing many full compartments on the way. Each one full with friends, she silently wondered which were his.

Fabian was about to reply to kailee, but soon was muted as crystal entered their compartment, the girl pretty much scared him most of the time. He scooted down and sat next to asher, leaving brennen to deal with crystal. Fabian blinked lost for words when she defended him, crystal wasn't that nice to him a while ago in the corridor. Sending shifty looks her way, he saw belle sitting on his magazine, he pulled the magazine hard from under her without any warning "Eh yea sorry" he murmered tucking the magazine in his case. Just in time to notice mathew enter the room, "Hey" fabian replied with his usual charming smile when brennen inroduced him. Speaking of mood swings, fabian smirked when crystal began screaming again as brennen teased her, maybe she was just better that way? he didn't really know.

As Doyle made his rounds, he spotted Walt with a student he didn't recognize. Perhaps this was the transfer student the Headmaster had described. Transfer students were rare enough that it bore mention in the letter to the Head Boy and Girl. "Better get ready to disembark, Walt," Doyle civilly addressed the boy he'd never seemed to be able to get along with.

Clara reached over and smacked Fabian with her notebook. "I am not Crystal or Kailee. Don't try and touch the goods, love. They're display only." Surprisingly, Clara scooted closer to Coop. She knew he wouldn't touch. The compartment was getting noisy and everyone seemed to have something to say. Clara loved it and went to writing down the dialogue.

Kailee was confused and she didn't really have the chance to talk more about anything with the guys before everybody and their owl decided to join them. She put on a smile and acted friendly but pretty much ignored the conversations going on around her. They didn't concern here therefore she didn't really care.

When Clara mentioned her name she turned and stared at the girl. "And just what are you implying?" She asked her raising an eyebrow.

"I wasn't implying anything. I stated plainly that I was not you and did not enjoy the touch of males in ways other than professional or playful. Though I suppose playful is interpreted in many ways." Clara nodded, lifted her head to see Kail's face for only a moment, and went back to writing.

Kailee's eyes widened then she smirked. "Touch of males eh? I guess it's no wonder why you follow Crystal around so much then." She crossed her legs in front of her and leaned back against the seat while looking at her nails.
