All is not what it seems in the shadows of paradise…
This RP takes place in Fincayra, the enchanted isle that lies between earth and sky where Trees talk, Rivers roar, and Winds whisper secrets of the land as well as where the known Wizard Merlin had lived his young adult life and some adult years. Before he left the land to face his destiny Merlin defeated the evil king of Fincayra and brought an end to most of the warlord spirit of the land Rhita Gwar’s, trickery. All the ancient races have disappeared all except for the deer people (Humans that can change into deer when they reach running speed) and humans of that land whose ears are shaped like elves ears. It was years since any wizard or witch had set foot there and now three wizards and three witches are washed onto the shores of the enchanted isle after the yacht they had been vacationing on off the shores of Wales, floated into a thick mist overnight. There however Rhita Gwar has been trying to take over Fincayra again. According to an old Prophecy the second time Rhita Gwar attempts this, a group of six consisting of Three Witches and Three Wizards would come to rescue the people of Fincayra. They are here now will they succeed or shall they die a heroic death that none shall ever hear of, for then it shall be a time when bards can no longer sing the songs of old, when the ancient clans of the dear people will no longer roam the woodlands, nor dwarves shall continue their art, nad no longer shall Fincayarans fly, less they all be saved and wings returned unleashed from the savage curse.

Varigal:
Ancient capital city of the giants, Varigal is located on the edge of the Lost Lands to the north of Fincayra. The city is in ruins, and the surviving giants live in hiding.
Town of the Bards:
Caer Neithan, Town of the Bards is the bleak village in the Blighted Lands. There was a time when in the entire village, not a single voice could be heard.
In the words of the bard Cairpré: “For ages beyond memory, that town has been a fountain of music and song, home of our most inspired storytellers, nurturer of generations of bards. …Here song is ever in the air, while story climbs the spiral stair.”
But Rhita Gawr and his servant, turned the magic of the Caller of Dreams against Caer Neithan. They “called to life the most horrible dream ever beheld by any bard—and inflicted it upon the entire town.” The dream was “That every man, woman, and child in the village would never speak, nor sing, nor write again. That the instruments of their souls—their very voices—would be silenced forever.”
River Unceasing:
The River Unceasing divides the island, flowing from The Lost Lands in the north all the way to the Sea. To the west of the River lies Druma Wood and The Misted Hills. To the east lies the Rusted Plains, the Haunted Marsh and The Dark Hills.
Blighted Lands:
This is the region of the Isle of Fincayra where the land and sky have withered and darkened. Here the earth and even the remaining trees are the colour of dried blood.
Green Hills:
A place that was once a dark place now is brimming with life, but Rhita Gwar plans to change all that.
Druma Wood:
The only place where the trees of Fincayra are awake enough to talk.
Aleah Bird:
A rare bird of iridescent red and purple. It is described as a sign of good fortune. It has a flaming purple crest on its head and scarlet along its tail.
Ghouliants:
Deathless warriors, they were men whose bodies were raised from the dead by Rhita Gawr.
Grand Elusa
The true identity of the Grand Elusa is secret, the legends say she lives among the living stones of the Misted Hills. That she knows things no one else knows, including some things that haven't happened yet. And that she is old, very old.
Legend also tells that the Grand Elusa is always hungry and fiercer than a cornered giant.
The Grand Elusa has the power to change size—which makes her all the more unpredictable.
”There, amidst a massive curl of crystals, hung a delicate web. Its strands radiated out from the center like the light from a star. Upon this web dangled a single (white) spider, the size of a thumbnail. Its tie head and back were covered with miniscule hairs which glowed as white as the crystals themselves. …are you—‘I am,’ declared the spider, ‘the Grand Elusa.” –The Lost Years of Merlin
Do not be fooled by Grand Elusa's alarming appearance. The truth is, her love is as great as her appetite.”
Living Stones:
The living stones, creatures of great age—and great danger, are found in the Misted Hills of Fincayra. The Grand Elusa lives among the living stones
Kreelix:
Of all the dangerous foes that one must face, none is more terrifying than the kreelix. Resembling a giant bat, this beast devours magic.
A kreelix lives on magic, you see. Sucks it right out of its prey, as a bee takes nectar from a flower. For these creatures possess what the ancients call negatus mysterium—that strange ability to negate, or swallow up, the magic of others.”
Queljies:
Mysterious watchers of the swamp, these elusive creatures flicker like tiny candle flames. They travel in threes, and their grating laughter torments most of those who hear it.
Shifting Wrath:
Among the most dangerous creatures on Fincayra, a shifting wraith can change into whatever shape it wants. But there is always a flaw, something that gives it away, if you look closely enough. It always has something out of the ordinary. For example it could be shaped like a duck but have the legs of a chicken, If you spot one then you better run or else……
Stoat:
A small thin furry animal which has brown fur in summer and white fur in winter.
Warrior Goblins:
Warrior goblins are huge with gray-green skin, a greenish tongue, and thin eyes that glint beneath their pointed helmets. Their muscular arms protrude from shoulder plates; their three-fingered hands nearly always grasp the hilts of broad swords. They used to stay underground, in their caves. But now they run free, and they kill just for pleasure
Some Questions Were Asked and Answered:
What are the relationships between the deer and the normal humans?
Well most deer people avoid humans because most humans hunt. In this RP the Leaders of the Humans and the Deer People are not getting along very well. Both leaders have a few things in common 1) they are both Just and Good Leaders. 2) Both of their parents were killed by Rhita Gwar. 3) They both want a free Fincayra.
Are they friends?
Some are, Merlin was a friend of the deer people he eventually became one, when a deer male aka a stag took a piece of his antler and crushed it into a fine powder. Merlin then took the powder and rubbed it on his feet and began to run. His clothes melted into his body and his neck grew longer, his body bent forward and his senses were sharper. He could feel the energy of the earth within him as he ran.
Do they hang out together?
Not very likely, but again some do.
Have there been any crossover relationships?
None that I know of but be creative, and go for it.
The people we play are just like the main charries for the story?
Yes, they will all play a vital role in defeating Rhita Gwar, but the main charries are the ones to unite the two races together in order to defeat him.
Does everyone have powers?
Humans can have small powers only because then that would defeat the purpose of the wizards and witches landing there. The people take magic seriously and believe it should be used sparingly.
Do the people on the island know about the outside world?
Yes but only that it exists nothing more.
Full name: Amara Antoinette Vashti de Beaumont
Nickname: Her father used to call her Mars along with other cutesy nicknames that fathers tend to toss around. Few call her any of that now though. She usually goes by Amara or her rightful title.
Race: Fincaryan human

DoB: May 25
Family/history: When Amara was born into the royal family it was both a tragic and a joyous day. The queen, Queen Vashti, Amara’s mother, died giving birth. Even though the king went through a long time of mourning, he stepped up to the plate and was an excellent father from the very beginning, all starting with his will to not be bitter and angry. Amara grew up incredibly close to him though never did stop wondering about her mother. She always loved hearing stories about her and hearing what similarities she had to her.
From the time Amara was seven she was given a personal tutor, one for an excellent education and the other on how to be a proper woman—manners, appearance to the people in any situation, dress, etcetera. They made her into a true queen, though they never could take the boldness out of her.
Her father, King Bourbon Alain de Beaumont, was brutally murdered by Rhita Gwar when Amara was 18, leaving her to lead with the education given to her and the example left. She also uses the people she has been blessed to have around her, seeking their advice, opinions, and friendship. Most often, the first person she goes to with her problems is Ally--a girl found at the palace's door step when Amara was three years old. Her father had kindly taken her in, keeping her in his own care and that of the lady's maids. That is what she was raised to be for Amara, but to her she became more than that. Ally is the closest thing to a best friend and sister that Amara has, so she did not hesitate to name her chancellor/right hand adviser.
Amara, in her ruling, has her own style but still tries to emulate the many things she admired about her father. He was a good and honest man, always doing the best he could for his people.
Personality: Amara could easily be defined as a good queen because of her innocence, how much she cares about her people, and her willingness to do anything for them—not only for the Fincaryans as a whole, but as individuals as well. She is mannerly and eloquent, very proper in her speech, neat, orderly, scheduled, and has great pride for Fincarya. In her attempts to not be a Hamlet, Amara never makes a decision without being completely sure and therefore is not afraid to ask the opinions of others and to compromise. She feels that if her decision is unwavering then there’s less of a chance of making mistakes. Though anytime she has made a mistake (and there have been quite a few, for she is still learning) she does not deny it. She admits her mistake, apologizes, then fixes what she can. Her bravery shows throughout every part of her persona.
Amara is not easily embarrassed (she has a level of pride after all) except for when her weaknesses are illustrated to her enemies. She is a strong young woman; however she is still human and has weaknesses like the rest of humanity. Though, even through embarrassment she will not drop her dignity.
Although Amara is a good ruler she is still young and still has a lot to learn. She is very bold, with few boundaries as far as what is okay to say, she is stubborn, and can be harsh and cold when need be.

Dislikes: the deer people, meat, those who are arrogant, those who love selfishly, ignorance

Overall: Amara is a truly lovely young woman, hence the name she was given by her parents (meaning eternal beauty). She has a look of elegance and pride, yet her sea blue eyes are innocent and loving, though the level of daring feistiness behind them cannot be denied. She is tall, slender, and quite leggy with some tone. Her complexion is fair and smooth and she has the usual slightly pointed ears that mark all Fincaryans. Most often, her long, thick head of curls is covering them and falls to the middle of her back when left curly. Her face is rather oval-shaped and has fairly high cheek bones. She has wonderful, learned posture and a very feminine style, always wearing dresses (usually in lighter colours and floor length).

Type: Human Eyes: Pale Lavender Turns to an amethyst in the center. Hair: long, thick red hair. It’s quite the attribute, long and glossy and down to her knees. Height: 5’10” Weight: bean-pole-esque Appearance: Fay is a tall girl who often tries to hold herself taller. She is rather scrawny-looking, but her legs, which make up the bulk of her height, are well-toned and muscular along with her shoulders and arms. Her complexion is of the sweetest cream, though she is so often outside that freckles shower her shoulders. She has normally pouty lips, and is fond of lifting up her upper lip to snarl. As is custom, she wears dresses but they are incredibly simple. Usually they are some shapeless dress that hits just below knees and is adorned with a simple ribbon tied about the waist. She is never seen without her mossy green hunters boots which wrap up to her knees in strips of cloth, or the rubied key which hangs about her neck on rough suede string. She also is always wearing a backpack which holds nuts and berries, a canteen, and bows and arrows. All along her bodice, daggers are tucked in unexpected places.
History: Fay was the first born daughter, and as such, she the one that her parents hoped would withhold the middle name Rose fittingly. They wished her to be the heiress to their fortune and lead the household as a lady should. Throughout the course of her life, many suitors, attracted to her hard-to-quell personality, strange beauty, and wealth showed up at her doorstep. Many left with bruises. Fay has always been a disgrace to both parents, as she revolts against the title “lady”, and (gasp) refuses to learn proper dining manners and which fork to use with dessert.
When Fay was eleven, a message came to her that both of her parents had been killed by some dark beast on outskirts of the wood. Fay stepped up and played mother until she was thirteen, when she moved out of the house and erected a crude hut which she now lives in. She lives off the land and on her own, tired of being smothered by pinching dresses and shoes. She often shares her food with her sisters and still checks on them weekly, but is now very detached to her family. An elderly woman stays with her sisters and teaches them things such as etiquette and is currently trying to find Fay a suitor. Really, she lives a life in solidarity and likes it that way. She has become very bitter towards the world, and mistrusting of men (her uncle had a heavy hand), and harbors a hatred towards women (What’s to like? They’re gossipy, petty, and vain twats). However, she tends to get along better with men even if she keeps them at an arms-length. Personality: Oh God. To sum up Fay in a couple of words is impossible so here is a rough outline. She is fiery, independent, will not ask for help, or receive help. She is not sensitive, and when people asks her for advice she tells them to “go figure it out themselves”. She keeps her soft side (if she has one) well under wraps. She is crude, and could care less about manners. She is rather brutally honest, and hard to get along with. She is also impossible. However, if you befriend her, she is devastatingly loyal, has an attuned sense of right and wrong, and will cut off someone’s tongue before they had a chance to speak badly of her allies.
Other: Fay has an impressive scar that starts at the tip of her collarbone and wraps around her bony rib-cage. You cannot see most of this but the very tip of it by her neck. She doesn’t really like to talk about how she got this, and it doesn’t come up as many do not see it. Also, she has a little boar named Kwi who keeps her company around her hut and a blueish horse named Aut. You ought to know that though Fay is an amazing archer, her strength lies in hand-to-hand combat. Pics:

Family/History: Amber had started her life in a wonderful home within the deer community, with two happily married and loving parents and an older brother she greatly looked up to. She still remembers following her adventurous brother, Peter, around on all of his outings and mimicking the things he would say when speaking to others. She remembers her father, Evan, to be the definite leader of the house and always more of the worrier between he and her mother. He would always set up strict rules for protection, often being over protective. Sapphira, Ambrosette’s mother and younger sister to Emrys, had always been so full of life, fun, and energy and made sure to keep the peace in the family and keep Evan’s worries down. Though, Ambrosette only has this picture of her family in her mind—in the few memories she still holds of them. The memories she holds most dear are those of the little things, like her mother’s laugh with those smiling eyes and the grin to match when her father would tell a corny joke or the first time she saw her father change into his deer form. That, she remembers to be in awe of—the beauty and magnificence of it. But, most prevalent is the memory of the day her family never returned to pick her up from her uncle’s home after leaving on an outing that Ember hadn’t particularly wanted to join them for. She remembers the search that happened late at night for them and seeing their bloody, mangled bodies. Whom her nine year old brother and young parents were murdered by is to this day unknown for sure, but it is suspected that it was a human native. The two races have not been on good terms with each other and with the family’s relation to the deer people’s leader… It’s all they had to go off of at the time.
Being the only family she had left, Emrys took guardianship over her more than a year ago and has been an amazing father figure (the closest anyone could be to one). While he cannot heal her completely he really has helped her through so much. Her horrific dreams have lessened and she no longer openly blames herself for what happened (which is a definite start).
Personality: What most know of Ambrosette is how terribly shy and quiet she is. Really, you have to either have known her for an absurd amount of time or be someone truly special to get her to come out of her shell or even say more than two words to you. But people have also come to know of her curiosity and intelligence. Curiosity and wonder basically mans the young girl’s life, often being what gets her into trouble with her uncle and into real trouble. She genuinely just has interest in learning all that she can, in people, in danger… So while she knows what is right and what is wrong very, very well, she often throws that along with her common sense out the window when she is taken by this trait. This is what makes her such a handful. Also learned quickly by people: Amber is not the type of little girl you can say anything around and have her forget or not put two and two together. She’s very bright with much potential, she is brave, questioning, merciful and kind-hearted. While she is almost always polite and rather respectful (as she has been raised to be) she does on occasion take people by surprise with her bold delivery of a question, not seeing the harm in it until it is pointed out to her. As stubborn as she is, she has difficulty forgiving or trusting others and to some extent refuses/ is unable to get rid of the guilt that she still feels from her family’s death. Perhaps some of this is from not fully understanding? After all, she merely knows that her family is gone and she is still here for whatever reason. That she decided not to join her family that day… A person can tell her a million times that she is lucky and that it is not her fault, but she will only nod without listening. All in all, Ambrosette is a troubled child full of care, wonder, and a sharp mind. She has more of a black and white personality than anyone in her immediate family had and she takes duties given to her very seriously, wanting to carry them out to perfection.
Likes: Those she can call close and can trust, the better memories she has of her family, learning, the outspoken (they interest her), adventure, stories
Dislikes: The humans (for what she believes them to have done), to be thought of as simpleminded or naïve, dogs, to be called ‘Olive’ by anyone other than her uncle (they are undeserving)

Overall: Ambrosette looks incredibly like her mother, with her oval face and naturally pink cheeks, her thick light brown hair with its natural highlights and waves… Her hair falls to the middle of her back and is always worn in its natural state with a forehead full of long bangs, falling just above her eyes. Despite the sun exposure, her skin has remained fair and quite freckle free and a light shade of pink always dances across her cheeks. She is not blushing until it is a deep crimson and her eyes averted. Her eyes are the one and only thing that resemble her father. They are a warm chocolate brown, slightly slanted, and always staring ‘into people’s very souls’ with interest and questions. Her clothing is simple and typically in blacks and whites with a few of the lighter colours as well here and there. She prefers to wear pants and simple tops, though she does own a few dresses.

History: Izze’s past is not a tragic tale. Little explains how she is the way she is. Her parents were wealthy, incredibly so, as her father invented a potion that would dissolve your appendix without having to have an expensive magical procedure to have this removed. Her mother is a witch plastic surgeon, meaning she knows exactly how to perfectly shrink and/or enlarge something, and does so for whopping amounts of money. With her parents booming careers and socialite lives, Izze and Dawn, her brother, were given the best and told to go have fun and to just stay out of Azkaban.
With that, her brother and her quickly bonded and grew up in a heavy party scene. They had fun, but Izze was often put into troubling situations and grew up very fast. This lifestyle led to a very out of control girl who not only lives life to its fullest but takes life by the hair and sucks the breath out of it.
Personality: Izze is a crazy girl who dies to be in the center of attention. She is really loyal to no one and does not crave friends, but company and someone to be quite insane with. She is loud, outspoken, self absorbed, girly, a coward, and hyperactive. She is not mean, but sympathetic, but has no real sense of right and wrong and lets things happen how they will. Most of all, Izze is a flirt. She craves attention from guys, and gets it in any way she can. She would rather have a group of girl friends than guys, but a large group of girls do not like her as she tends to be a man eater/stealer. Other: Izze has a huge aversion to birds. They freak her out completely. She also is incredibly athletic, and any sport comes very easily to her. She was top player at Hogwarts, and is currently mulling over whether to go professional in that. She also has a husky named Greer. Libbers I LOVE the profile Lol! I can already tell she'll bring in lots of humor and attitude to the RP.
Type: Human Eyes: Big and blue... almost bug-like. Hair: Long blonde hair that is usually messily tied up Height: 5'4'' Build: she's tiny Appearance: Cata is just a small, yet powerful ball of energy. She is always bouncing around and smiling. She has a very fair complexion, and her cheeks are almost always mildly sunburned... she cannot help but stay outside. She wears simple dresses that give her easy mobility. She wears flower-donned necklaces and a grassy tiara-like thing atop her head. Just to be safe, her parents/brother make her carry around three daggers (which she is very skilled with).
History: Cata grew up in a strange home environment, with a rebellious brother and tired parents. At the age of nine her brother was disbanded from the family and cast out to fend for himself. This gave Cata resentment towards her own parents, and developed a darker side that she only displays to them. Growing up she made many friends with most anyone, due to her bubbly nature. Although her brother was kicked out, he still secretly visits Cata every few months.
At the age of twelve, Cata packed her things and moved out into the wilderness with her brother... quickly adapting to the underground lifesyle he lives today. Together, they live in a small hut and live off surrounding vegetation. They are friends with people in a local village and have companionship with other nearby vagabonds.
Personality: Painfully bubbly, it is almost impossible to get Cata to be quiet. She has a sensitive heart and is willing to do anything she can for those dearest to her. Once threatened, however, is when she can become deadly. She is awfully oblivious to many evils in the world which have protected her, yet hurt her as well. She is very easy to manipulate, and is almost too trustworthy.
Other: She has a small rabbit named Basil, who's keen ears keep her and her brother out of danger.

Hair: Chestnut Eyes: Hazel Height: 6’2” Other: Well shaped nose and a strong jaw. Very masculine body despite the fact that he is a bard he is a very quick footed warrior.
Special Abilities: A very wise and witty young man his feet are as quick as his mind. A trait he inherited from his mother’s side of the family. He can transform into a deer but does not do so very often not wishing to cause any tension in the mostly human village he lives in. He is also very familiar with most of southern Fincayra.
Persona: He’s a very kind and gentle soul he enjoys writing poetry and singing songs of old. He knows most of the things about Fincayra and is waiting for the young wizards and witches to arrive so that the prophecy may be fulfilled. He gets very excited at the mention of adventure and hopes to one day help free Fincayra from Rhita Gwar. He is a fiercely loyal friend and will die defending his friends and his or their honor.
History: His parents had both died after he was born and had lived with his Great Uncle until he passed away as well when he was 16 ever since then he has been waiting for the arrival of the foretold and awaits for a free Fincayra. He lived an ordinary childhood surrounded by great bards whom he quickly learned his beloved passion from for the captivating words of poetry and tales. After his uncle died he was very saddened by the event and though he wishes for adventure he continues to live in his uncles home and every now and then takes leave to travel down to the shores of the speaking shells. He camps there or in the Durma woods on the seventh month of every year awaiting the arrival of the prophesized heroes.

He is always looking around, observing his surroundings in a very thoughtful way. He has fair skin, and is usually relatively tan. He has very short brown hair, and scraggly facial hair that isn't kept well. He dresses very casually and will usually be seen in a T-shirt and sweatpants.
History: Cos grew up into a well known wizarding family in West London. He played quidditch from a young age and was breeded into a lethal chaser for the Ravenclaw's team. He did well in school, and made good grades as he was good with his wand. He never was anything spectacular though. He was never really popular, but he was never seen as needy either. Upon graduation, he joined the reserves for the Puddlemore United's Quidditch team but has never seen the field, and makes very little money. So he also works part time in the Leaky Cauldron, where he does some bartending. He still rolls with a group of his close friend who enjoy messing around on the beach, and doing whatever comes to their mind first.
Personality: A man of sheer logic, he rarely listens to his instincts. He gets nervous in important situations and CAN be rather awkward. He always looks like he might have not slept enough, but a small smile around his face can help lift anyones mood. He is very good at talking people through rough times and has been regarded as a leader in many ways. He takes all things into account, which can often make him ambivalent and indecisive. Although cold and standoffish to strangers, he is noticeable different with his friends. He cracks jokes, pokes fun, and is generally a happy guy. Cheesy even. If something is bothering him, it is BEYOND obvious. He is good with advice, usually wise and logical. He does not believe in luck, or random occurrences. Superstition, to him, is a myth.

Persona: He’s a very firm competitive and proud ruler. Emrys likes to keep his people in line, he doesn’t favor humans who eat deer meat. He enjoys running free around Fincayra and underneath all the toughness and hard covering he is a sweet and caring person who loves his homeland greatly. Very protective of his little niece he is often seen with her in his company and ensuring that she is as comfortable as possible.
History: His parents who had been the Rulers before him had suffered an unfortunate death in the hands of Rhita Gwar when he was 20 and ever since then he has sworn to avenge his family and banish Rhita Gwar from the land of Fincayra His sister’s death and that of most of her new family has fuelled his hatred towards humans even more having no doubt in his mind that it was hungry humans that had harmed his family so. After taking his niece under his wing he has done everything possible to make sure she is comfortable and well taken care of considering the fact she is all the family that he has left but also the fact that he sees her as his own daughter. He has ruled his people fairly and justly and despite his popularity among them and his constant mingling with them to hear their problems and insuring their welfare he keeps to himself greatly. He has very few friends and those whom he is friends with know him to be a very fun loving and free spirited soul that sacrifices all his beloved activities (save very few) to take care of his people.

History: Dozer comes from a hard working wizarding family. His mother is a well known potioneer, who works freelance and is starting her own business. While his father works for the ministry as a liaison to the Irish, Bulgarian, and Muggle Ministries. Henry hopes to one day be made Minister himself and has high hopes that his son will follow in his footsteps. Dozer enjoys politics quite a bit; however he aspires of becoming the next big Quidditch Chaser. His father doesn’t quite see the allure of an athletic future and is hoping to steer his wayward son away from such endeavors. Their family travels in the highest of social circles and attends all of the high end shindigs. Little Cassandra enjoys life as the baby. The Flint family gets along well or about as well as any family gets along these days.
Personality: Dozer isn’t your typical bad boy, though for many that is all he seems to be. Reserved and quiet, for the most part, he prefers to keep a certain mysterious air to his actions and thoughts. He tends to attract many girls with his good looks and easy charm, but he aims to find someone who can keep pace with him. Dozer loves a good challenge and is always looking for his next big project. Quidditch is a big deal in his life and that won’t change any time soon. While he projects that he doesn’t really care about anything or anyone, if you mess with his friends things will get ugly. Dozer doesn’t get jealous (at least he won’t admit it) and he does have a bit of a temper, when you burn down his exceptionally long fuse.

Background: Layla was born into a broken home though her mother tried early on to make up for what was missing. Peyton Rowan fell in love with a mysterious man from a neighboring clan and the two were quickly married. However, the happy union was short lived. When Peyton found out she was pregnant she told her husband expecting a happy celebration, instead she was greeted with his furious anger and icy scorn. He left her that night without a word or a backwards glance and has never been heard from again. Peyton refused from that heartbreaking night to expose her daughter to the awful truth, at least not all of it. Layla guessed at an early age that he had left them but her stubborn mother kept his name a secret, one she took to her grave.
Layla and her mother lived out a happy life until the summer she turned 13. Peyton’s mother was killed by a human hunter while the two were running through the forest in their deer forms. Layla saw everything, was witness as the hunter came upon his kill and field dressed it. From that moment on a fierce and burning hatred bloomed within Layla and her innocence died in its intense flames.
Layla couldn’t stand to be in the house she had shared with her mother so she packed up everything that was useful and left the village. After a couple months of wandering she found a nice isolated place not far from the main town of her people. She only goes into town from time to time, preferring to stay by herself.
Personality: Layla is an extremely independent and strong willed woman. She doesn’t suffer idiots or fools and has no qualms about speaking her mind. There are few people who can get past her gruff exterior and she prefers to keep it that way. Layla is a deeply troubled individual. Her mother meant everything to her and since her death she had been quiet and reserved. Keeping her emotions mostly to herself she is adept at reading others, a trait she has put to good use. She doesn’t suffer fools, and considers kindness and forgivness weaknesses. Her demeanor is always calm and collected but she does have a temper, once ignited will show the true depth of her cruelty and rage.
Abilities: Layla developed a deep connection with nature and the animals within it. She can often read animals and sense their intentions as well as send them impressions allowing her to communicate with them.
